Who wants a coffee table book about book shelves? ME!!!!
Despite being beautiful to look at, it's filled with guest authors from chefs, to self help writers listing some of their favorite books, including Alex Elle, Jasmine Guillory, Julianna McIntosh, and more!

Whether you want to find a place for your kids books, your cook books, for small spaces, for collectors, or for your bedside, this has everything. I'm so happy to be able to read this in advance. The only thing I'm missing is the physical hard copy which I plan on buying!

This book was cute comprehensive overview of all the ways you could display your own book nook. If you need some ideas you should check it out.

Thank you Netgalley for a chance to take a peek at this book.

Book Nooks has a very specific style and reader in mind with the photos provided. All of the looks are modern, angular, and focused on lines. This isn't really my style so I wasn't as drawn in by the photos as I would have been if it had more range. In fact, some of the photos seemed catered towards people who want to look like they read but don't. Placing books around house plants, in bathrooms, and other areas that will damage the books made me cringe as a reader that adores books.
While I can tell that there was a focus on sharing book love and must applaud Dina and Gilhuly for their seeing that readers are a major market today, this book did not hit the mark for me.

As an avid book lover, I spend a lot of time and have a lot of pride in my book shelves and book designs, meticulously integrating beloved titles and gorgeous spines in my home decor. This book was inspiring and made my heart ache with happy. There were even book suggestions by well-known authors, and the best part: B E A U T I F U L photos! A book nerd’s dream come true.

I’ll be adding this to my collection near my plants and antique cameras! Run don’t walk. Get your hands on this title!

I enjoyed the photographs and ideas for creating special reading spaces and displays, as well as the recommended reading lists. This is quite a collection of unique nooks.

A fantastic coffee table book! It's so interesting to see how they create cozy, gorgeous, unique book nooks in different / unexpected sections of the home - bathroom, baby, cookbook area. Also unique is the different types of people whose book dens they exhibit - the collectors of books, the gardener with books incorporated in their plant full home. Good as a flip through, coffee table book.

This book was not exactly what I was expecting, and I'm okay with that. I was expecting to see the white shelves and rainbow sorted shelves that are popular on Bookstagram and BookTube. Nope! These shelves are more styled and tie into themes of the rooms they are housed in. One of my favorite ones was a little stack of books where we are told to stack books up at different heights. Now when I do this I am called a book hoarder.... lol

But yes, Book Nooks gives readers tips and hints on what to do with their books to make a cute display. Also included are author or other industry related people's picks on specific subjects. I do wish we could have been given a glimpse of their individual bookshelves or reading spaces. Even still, much enjoyed.

BEST. COFFEE. TABLE. BOOK. IMAGINABLE.

Beautiful graphics, blurbs from authors, inspiration galore - this book is a hit. I’m buying it for every person I know that owns a house. If you aren’t a reader, this book will make you wish you read!

Book nooks indeed! Thirteen chapters of innovative ideas, from classic to small space to bathroom to bar to kids to simply colorful. The emphasis on 'books as decor' is less than helpful - for me, anyway...I'm more interested in practical matters such as can I find what I want quickly? In general, though, worth a look. Among my favorite ideas were the classic built-ins (of course), a window bench with a shelf underneath, and a converted armoire with bookshelves and a seating area for kids.

"Book Nooks" offers a variety of ideas for storing books in different rooms of your home. While some ideas may not appeal to everyone (stacking books in fireplaces or displaying them spine in/pages out), the book provides nice pictures for a lot of different situations.

The section on little libraries stood out to me as the best. Overall, the suggestions tend towards a more disheveled look than what I prefer, and feature a lot more general shelves than what I would consider a book nook. However, if you like scrolling Pinterest for home inspiration and are an avid reader, I think you will certainly find some inspiration within its pages.

Thank you to Chronicle Books and NetGalley for the advanced copy of this book.

This is a book premise tailor made for me! As someone with limited space but a love for books (including coffee table books), I loved the beautiful photography. I don’t know about some of the ideas though, such as using a stack of books as a table or a stool 😂. The book suggestions were also a nice surprise, as was the page about Little Free Libraries. Now please excuse me while I go look for a clear acrylic coffee table!

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC. All opinions are my own.

Those who enjoy scrolling through sites to see other people's bookshelves will certainly enjoy this photo book.

While the photography and setups throughout are quite nice, everything felt a bit too austere for my taste. To me, the title Book Nooks implies that cozy reading spots will be featured. The content instead focuses on display shelves of books. The spaces are not lived in, which is made apparent by the recommendation to display themed books in a nursery.

The lists of author's book recommendations and round up of Little Free Libraries at the end was very nice.

Nook- a corner or recess, especially one offering seclusion or security.

If the correct definition of a book nook is a corner or recess filled with books, then this book was adequately done,

If you were pulled into buying this book because of that “Instagramable” cover then you'd be disappointed in the fact that this book's inner pages aren't what you expected. I expected some really fine examples of HOW to set up a book nook, with beautiful photos and furniture placement for these cozy, little spaces in our homes that wasn't at all what is given. There is one great page with another “Instagramable” idea and the rest are just stacks of books in any room in your house with suggestions of piling by color, genre, or subject.

If this book had been done, say, 15 years ago it would have been ahead of its time, however today we see so many of these ideas already compiled into some amazing photos on bibliophiles’ social media pages across the web.

I jumped at the chance to review this book by the NetGalley description i feel as if the authors' concept of this book was great however, I have to give this one a low rating due to the fact that there are so many other coffee table books about decorating with books in nooks that would be the perfect gift for your book-obsessed friends that far exceed this one and costs about the same price.

This book would make a good coffee table book. I wasn’t too impressed with the nooks and bookshelves I saw. I have definitely seen a lot more unique and cozy reading spaces other places.

A short and informational book about different ways to decorate your home. It has sections for genres, hobbies, activities, and space sizes! I loved looking at the creative ways to decorate a home. I've been meaning to reorganize my books, so I'm going to take a page or two from this book as inspiration. I loved that each section had an interview with a famous figure with their recommended books. It provides a nice starting point for anyone looking for more books to add to a shelf.

The contents of the book are informative, but I felt like the book design could use some work. The font they use for the header and text are beautiful. It's elegant with the line variation, but it's best suited for only the headers. It can serve as an eyecatching header, but using it as the font for the body of text makes it excruciating to read - even on a big screen. The letters blend together and they become difficult to read. I wish they chose a more legible font for anyone looking to open the book and read it.

I had hoped that this book might be more about how to build book nooks. This is just a book of pictures of pretty house decor into which people have piled books, and not in a particularly usable way. This would make a pretty coffee table book but I would not suggest it as a gift for a reader as the description suggest. An actual reader wouldn't be able to find their books in a lot of these displays. And there are far too few books in the set ups!

Just not for me.

This was such a perfect find when re-modeling my reading area. It was great to see the different designs, as well as learning how to execute them.

Book Nooks feels like a misleading title for Vanessa Diana and Claire Gilbuly’s collection of bookshelf photos. Inspired Ideas for Cozy Reading Corners and Stylish Book Displays feels more adequate, even if it’s still slightly missing the mark.

I expected in picking this up that I’d be reading something about legitimate book nooks, little areas of the house set up to be mini-libraries with reading corners or something of that nature. For the most part, though, this book seems to be a very small collection of potential ideas for how to decorate a bookshelf or a specific area of the house.

Some things that I thought were quite ridiculous include the “stacking books” as an example of a book nook. I mean, sure…we can stack books no our coffee tables. We can create stools out of the old ones—though honestly, I hesitate here—and we can…stuff them in our fireplaces?

Honestly, what a ridiculous and stupid notion.

Not to mention the fact that I would never in a million years want to create a “book nook” in a bathroom. My goodness.

That’s not to say the book was all bad, though, I guess. It did have some beautiful photography and there were some genuinely cool ideas in here. But are they book nooks? Not really.
