This book made me sob so hard. Such a sweet narrative and lovely illustrations. I recommend to those who have loved and lost a dog. Five star read!

"We go first so we can guide you."
I'm not sure if I would suggest this book to someone who recently lost a dog, as it doesn't focus on grief. Perhaps waiting a few months would be more appropriate, as it emphasizes cherishing the good memories and viewing life from a dog's perspective. The message is truly heartwarming and inspiring. There is so much we can learn from each other. Their love is incomparable, only those who have experienced it can truly comprehend. It's a pure and special feeling. The author did an excellent job portraying how dogs understand what truly matters in life, making them extraordinary.
The illustrations are absolutely stunning!! The artist perfectly captured the way dogs gaze at us.
Thanks to Andrews McMeel Publishing for the ARC!

This was a brilliant and heartwarming book about a dog who is both "here" and "there" after his body dies. It is a very comforting story for anyone who has ever lost a pet.

A great book for those greiving or otherwise. Such a truly healing story that will have you fall in love with dogs all over again.
Told from the perspective of a dog that has since passed--this story shows that we are never without our furry loved ones. They are with us daily. Good for both you and old alike, I would highly recommend this book to anyone who loves dogs. A must read for furry pet lovers.
The illustrations of this book added a level of depth as well as made the book more relatable for a younger audience. The book was easy to read and easy to enjoy.

What a lovely book. I throughly enjoyed it. It makes you laugh and cry! The illustrations are gorgeous.
As the words were written, I felt as if my dog was saying it to me. I lost my angel dog several years ago but I feel like he is still here with me. This book is for anyone with a dog and will definitely help when your dog needs to cross over the bridge.
Thank you NetGalley, Andrews McMeel Publishing, the illustrator and Cathryn Michon for the arc copy. I definitely will be getting a hard copy of this book.

Anyone who is, or ever has, experienced grief for the loss of their dog will appreciate this book.
I cried. I laughed. My heart smiled again.
While the text has a beautiful flow, the illustrations are outstanding.
A heartfelt book that would be a perfect gift when you don’t know what to say to someone whose heart is broken.
Thank you to NetGalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for the advance reader edition.

I knew this book would touch me deeply, but I didn't expect it to be this much and this quickly. I'm a dog lover—one of those people who, upon seeing a dog, wants to run up and hug it, showering it with cuddles, perhaps even using an annoyingly high-pitched voice. So, when I saw that sweet little face on the cover, I couldn't resist getting the book. On that note, I want to thank Netgalley for allowing me to read this book in advance.
Inside, the story is a seamless and refined blend of words and illustrations, with the little furry friend reassuring his owner about "letting him go" because he will always be by her side. It's a touching, enveloping tale with a special focus on the feelings and emotions that are evoked here in one way or another.
As difficult as it may be to lose a pet and put yourself in a position to give another dog a home, I found this book so touching and well-crafted that it makes the whole process fascinating and helpful.
A huge plus is the choice of narrative style—simple, with a unique perspective—and the images accompanying the narration, making the story more vivid.
I will publish a review article about this book on my blog in a few weeks, and I'll share the link. I will also provide links to all the posts I make on my social media profiles. This review is already posted on my Goodreads page.

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC. What a sweet and wonderful book! This is a rad for anyone that has loved or lost a dog.
Feel good story. Definitely recommend!

This book is amazing. I 100% recommend it. It is a beautiful, inspiring story of how we all need to feel about our fur babies, when there here and there. Carhryn reminds us our fur babies love us unconditionally and we need to bevwith them when it's their time to cross over, even if it's painful. They deserve that from us. And, we need to look forward to rhe day we will see them again.
The most amazing illustrations add to the beauty of this book. I will definitely be recommending it to my students!!

I’m Still Here, A Dog’s Purpose Forever, written by Cathryn Michon and her precious Tucker, is a beautifully written tribute to all of the dogs treasured by many a human heart. The illustrations are created in soothing watercolors. I find them lovely. Each page warmed memories with playful and poignant words from the dog’s perspective. I inhaled deeply and smiled remembering the antics of my own “Lovies” who stole my heart through the years.
I enjoyed the typography as well. The color and style of the text is easy on the eyes. The placement pace allows emotions to ebb and flow along with the words.
I loved this book. Once it’s published for the public, I will display it proudly in my home. I assure you, “I’m Still Here, A Dog’s Purpose Forever, will be gifted to friends and family, with much love.

How did Cathryn and Tucker know how much I needed this book? I read the advance copy (thank you NetGally and Andrews McNeel!) constantly because it gives me an encompassing feeling of being loved.
All the wonderful stories and lessons Cathryn/Tucker gives us in this book are true and comforting.
The dog who was closest to my heart, a yellow lab named Che, comforted me through the death of my husband in July 2016 and through the unbearable political upheaval that year. He was almost 14 and suffering, but he stayed with me as long as he could, until the end of November 2016.
It gives me great comfort to understand that Che is "still here" and no longer suffering.
Tucker/Cathryn says, and this is especially important:
there is wonderful
we feel no pain when we are there
all the people
all the animals
you loved here are there!
And Tucker/Cathryn is funny: As though we have to be told that dogs love balls and treats above all.
And poignant:
we're not apart
I just don't have my dog body
I do have my dog soul
(which is truly my best part)
always with you
always loving you
I feel so loved to know that Che, and all the other dogs I've ever had, are still here, along with Thor, another yellow lab who fills my heart here and now.

I just finished this book and I loved it! I know it's a cliche to say this but it made me laugh, it made me cry and it made me feel good. Anyone that has lost a furbaby should get "I'm Still Here". I have lost many furbabies over the years, and this book made me think about all of them - in a good way. The illustrations are all incredible. But I especially love the ones with the dog paw prints next to the human foot prints in the sand. I know I would like to think that I would have many paw prints in the sand next to my foot prints. Thank you so much to both the author and the illustrator for this wonderful book. I can't wait to get my hands on a hard copy.

This is such a beautiful book! The writing was sweet and definitely made you cry. But, the illustrations in here were stunning! I could not get over all the pictures in here. They were so beautiful. This is a book I'll be giving to anyone who has lost a pet. I lost my boy 2 years ago so the grief isn't fresh, yet, I found myself crying and thinking of him. I would definitely recommend.

If a dog could write a stream-of-consciousness prose-poem about how wonderful life is, this book would be the result. Writer and film director Cathryn Michon imagines what goes on in the minds of cherished dogs who have *crossed over,* showing that a well-loved dog is always with their people. Seth Taylor’s dreamy water-color illustrations feature Michon’s own beloved Tucker along with a variety of other dogs, shows dogs living their best life, enjoying walks, sniffs, bacon, and cheese (and sharing their opinions on things that are less fun, like baths and the “cone of shame.”)
This would be a lovely gift for someone who has lost a pet, but it is also ideal for anyone who loves dogs and who enjoys imagining what dogs are thinking as they go about their days. It is inevitable that we who love dogs will suffer loss, but this book reminds us of the joy dogs bring us and the joy they get from us. Illustrator Taylor captures the love in Tucker’s eyes in gorgeous paintings that are worthy of framing.
I received a digital advance copy from Netgalley in exchange for honest feedback. I will be recommending this for my library and buying several copies—one for me and some to have on hand to give as gifts when needed.

Beautifully written book with incredible illustrations! It provides comforting and peaceful thoughts for anyone who has lost a pet family member. I would recommend this book for most ages and it can also open lines of communication with little ones as they process the loss of a pet. The illustrations are amazing- playful and sweet! Now I'm going to go give some extra love to my sweet animals!!
Thank you Netgalley for the opportunity to read this beautiful story

Such a lovely book! Surely no coincidence that I found this and read it the very evening I finally decided to scatter the ashes of my beloved pets below a tree in my back yard. It made me sniffle and smile in the same sitting. I would recommend for anyone who has loved and lost a dog.

5 star read⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I absolutely loved this book. It was easy to read and written from the heart of a dog mother. The prose flows lyrically and the illustrations are gorgeous.
My takeaways from this book:
“fear chases away life
fear chases away joy
fear chases away life”
Treat yourself and preorder this wonderful book

This is a great book for anyone who has lost a dog or person. It was great reading from a dogs perspective. I will meet you at rainbow bridge or may come back as someone different. What a blessing to know my dog may come back as another and bless me twice.

I had to make the hardest decision ever to put down my sweet lab, Hershey or Hershey Girl as my daughter called her. After reading “I’m Still Alive” written from a dog’s point of view, made me realize that her spirit will be with me forever and I believe she is waiting for us on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge. This book has been illustrated brilliantly. One of those books that you don’t want to end.

As a person who recently lost their soul dog 3 months ago, this is the book I needed right now. This book brings light in from the dark. The beautiful illustrations embody the words on the page and lift your spirits as you hear the voice of the dog. So simple and so joyful. This is the book to pick up after your lose your dog. Some days are ok and some days are sad and you can't remember your faith that your beloved pup is still here with you. This book reminds you that your pup is still here and still loving you and guiding you. So much so that a little piece of their soul is gifted to the the next pup that will come at a time when you have a different need to find joy again. This book reminds you of the joy of a dog that fills them so completely that they are bursting with zoomies. It is the book you should read if you lost a dog, love a dog or are preparing for a new and different dog. Thank you for this healing book and for the beautiful illustrations. I read this on my phone but in physical form this book must be gorgeous. I'll be buying one for a tabletop book for myself and others to enjoy and heal. I will also be recommending this book in my pet bereavement assistance sessions to help others heal.
