This is the first of the freshman class of Bindery published books that I have read. I hoped for better than what I ended up getting. This was not a bad book, just a rather basic one. Everything read formulaic and flat with stereotypical characters and plot events

Ugh! This just wasn’t for me. The premise hooked me and I needed to read it, but once I got into the book I was bored. I could not for the life of me connect or understand what is happening at any point,

Inferno's Heir follows Teia, a morally grey, powerful outsider caught in a battle for her family's legacy, surrounded by betrayals, twists, and complex characters.

A fun fantasy read that features a great cast of characters. I am a sucker for a morally grey character and this was perfect. There were so many twist and turns and this was just a really fun time!

Wow this book was fast and easy to read.
The characters were very enjoyable. This book reads like a video game to me.
A political fantasy for fans of The Cruel Prince and Six of Crows. This book would be good to reread as well.
The ending, what a cliffhanger. I cannot wait for book number 2.

Easy to read, with memorable characters and a beautiful world. Each character felt unique and with their own voice, and I definitely loved the FMC! I have to say that I felt the beginning a little bit slow but the moment I reached ⅓ I couldn’t stop reading. I loved every moment of the book but I would have loved to see more about the magic system. I definitely am looking forward to the next book!

Thank you to netgalley for an arc of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I could not resist requesting this one on NetGalley when I saw Kevin Norman raving about it on his Instagram. It is his imprint at Bindery Books that published this novel. Thank you to Bindery Books and NetGalley for the free Advanced Reader’s Copy in exchange for my honest opinion.

This is the story of Teia and her half brother, Jura. In this world some people have control over water and some people have control over fire. And on rare occasions, they have both. Teia has both as her father had control over fire and her mother over water, but this union is not seen with good eyes. Keira’s brother is truly evil.

The rebels convince Keira to help them. Against her will, she chooses to do that. However, Keira is a strong character, who we come to realize is morally grey. While she intends to help the rebels to get into the prison to steal a gem,, she just might double cross them to rule the kingdom herself!!

I have seen some people compare this book to Six of Crows, but I am not sure why. It is a fantasy heist novel. This book stands on its own merits. It has a strong female Asian character. I never really warmed to Keira, myself. I liked the secondary characters more. The book does end on a cliffhanger, but the final book in the duology will be published at the end of 2025. I am looking forward to seeing how Tiffany Wang wraps this up! I gave this debut novel a 4 star rating.

This was such a gloriously fast-paced, cutthroat, unique new fantasy—with wonderful character building, moral complexity, and excellent intrigue and action. Cannot wait for more!

I really tried to enjoy this book but I couldn't. I swear it.

The synopsis actually hooked me, but that was it. There were many elements that I didn't love. On the one hand, I wasn't particually fond of the writing style. It felt slow and boring. I didn't get to connect with the plot nor the characters.

In these first 100 pages I couldn't know anything about the world builidng, the system. the characters, the rebels, and so on. If it had started in any other way, maybe I would've enjoy it more. I started this book several days ago and I felt like I couldn't keep going. I know many people loved it so if you're interested in it, try it. We're all different and maybe you'll love it like others did. Thanks to NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read this book!! 🫶

While the premise was nice, the writing was... not what I expected. I wanted more from the characters because I felt that what was on the front cover and the front flap was not what we were given.

**Review of *Inferno's Heir* by Tiffany Wang**

*Inferno's Heir* by Tiffany Wang is an exhilarating and captivating debut that sets a high bar for fantasy literature. With a gripping storyline, complex characters, and a world brimming with intrigue, this book grabs hold of the reader from the very first page and doesn’t let go.

The story follows Teia Carthan, an outcast princess with a complex past and a dangerous secret. Her rare ability to control two elements makes her both a powerful force and a dangerous target in a kingdom where betrayal and survival go hand in hand. After the deaths of her parents and her half-brother Jura's rise to power, Teia finds herself on the run, outcast and marked for death. As Jura moves to crush the rebellion threatening his rule, Teia sees a chance to save herself by betraying the rebels to him. But as she begins to bond with the rebellion and starts questioning the morality of her own family’s rule, she’s left wondering if there’s another path she could take—one where she could rise to power herself.

What makes *Inferno's Heir* so compelling is the depth of Teia's character. She is not a typical heroine, but rather a morally gray character who struggles with her own survival instincts versus her growing awareness of the rebellion's cause. Teia's internal conflict is rich and nuanced—she is both a survivor and someone wrestling with her conscience, trying to navigate a world that demands hard choices and sacrifices. The tension between Teia's fear for her life and her growing empathy for the rebellion adds a compelling layer to the narrative.

The plot is filled with suspense, twists, and plenty of action. Teia's journey of betrayal and self-discovery keeps the reader on the edge of their seat, particularly as she grapples with whether to help the rebellion or claim the throne for herself. The stakes are high throughout the story, and the potential for Teia to either fall into the darkness of power or fight for something greater makes for an exhilarating read. The world-building is also excellent, with a detailed and immersive setting that feels rich and fully realized.

The supporting characters are equally engaging, each with their own motivations and struggles. Teia’s interactions with the rebels—who are initially strangers but eventually become allies—create emotional stakes that further deepen the narrative. The relationships are well-crafted, and the emotional beats feel earned. Wang does an excellent job of balancing personal growth with political intrigue, making every choice Teia faces feel consequential.

Wang's prose is sharp and vivid, with a clear talent for creating tension and excitement. The pacing is spot-on, with a perfect balance of action, introspection, and world-building. *Inferno's Heir* is a fast-paced fantasy with just enough twists and turns to keep readers hooked, all while exploring deeper themes like loyalty, power, and the price of survival.

Overall, *Inferno's Heir* is a fantastical romp filled with intrigue, suspense, and emotional depth. Tiffany Wang's debut offers a fresh take on the classic themes of rebellion, power, and identity. Fans of high-stakes fantasy, morally complex characters, and stories about navigating personal ambition will find a lot to love here. With its sharp writing, compelling characters, and edge-of-your-seat plot, *Inferno’s Heir* establishes Tiffany Wang as a talented new voice in fantasy fiction. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a thrilling and thought-provoking read.

Thanks you NetGalley for the ebook arc. While it was wonderfully written it didn’t really stand out to me, but would recommend to others

This book was good! I liked it but didn’t love it. I definitely see potential in it and look forward to seeing what else the author does.

I don't know what happened, but some of the reviews I wrote last autumn don't seem to have posted. Oh well. I LOVED Inferno's Heir and had such a great time reading it! Please check it out if you like heists, cons, and big casts of characters. Bindery Books is becoming one of my new favorite publishers.

Loved this! The characters, heist, politics, and world building were engaging and enjoyable. Thank you for the advance copy and I'm so sorry it's taken me so long to read and review.

A truly fantastic read! I loved everything about this but especially the characters, they were all so distinct and likable and the character development was great. There is great court intrigue, action, heists. I was hooked from start to finish

This might be my favorite of the Bindery books. That has everything to do with Teia. She’s my favorite kind of heroine. We’ll just call her complicated. To the point of maniacal.

What I love most:
1. I respect an MC that is committed to their goals despite any obstacles (including a psychotic king, impenetrable prison, and you know, toddlers).
2. When you compare Teia to Jura, she’s really not that bad.
3. It’s really funny. And Teia’s development (including her …is this friend? plot line) made me very happy. Considering how incredibly dark this book can get, that’s saying something.

This book is not perfect, but it’s a heck of a debut.

Tiffany Wang's Inferno's Heir is a fun YA Fantasy Heist novel! I truly enjoyed reading it and it was a solid debut. Political intrigue, a morally grey FMC, and thrilling action packed scenes kept me invested! The author showed strong writing skills and I really enjoyed dipping my toes into this world.

First of all, this book’s cover is EVERYTHING!!

It took me a while to finish this book even though it certainly has a bunch of things that I enjoy like found family, slow burn (no pun intended), politics, and of course some elements wielding..

I really liked Tiffany’s description of Erisia and the rest of the settings where this story takes place, it made me feel transported, it was so easy to picture everything thanks to her writing.

Unfortunately, I do feel that the book was quite slow at the beginning and then 3/4 into it the pace suddenly changed and everything happened so fast almost without an explanation. I hope we get to see more of this characters in the future!

It took me a long time to finish this book, and I was irritated by the ending. My biggest problem was how plot-driven this was---Jura, the villain, was the most developed character other than the MC, and was extremely hate-able. But even the plot didn't feel fully developed, because it mostly consists of two heists of the SAME PRISON, followed by several dramatic reveals of things that have taken place off-page. There are multiple instances of extremely convenient things happening as soon as the need for them comes up in conversation. I was also confused about the world, because I'd been picturing a magical high fantasy world, and then there were suddenly guns and trains. There just weren't enough details to make me care about what happened to anyone.

In short, I wish this story had spent more time on character and worldbuilding. the plot felt like pieces from other stories cobbled together without enough connective tissue to hold it all together.

I did receive this book as an eARC through NetGalley, but I ended up reading a print version after its release in case anything had been changed. I'm seeing that a lot of people really enjoyed this, so take my feedback with a grain of salt, but I struggled to finish this.
