Megan’s books scratch such an itch for me. I loved her debut so much that I was sure her sophomore novel would be a ride, and it sure didn’t disappoint. I was hooked! I seriously can’t wait to see what she does next,

First, I want to give a BIG Thank you to Net Galley, Sourcebooks Fire and Megan Lally for letting me be able to read this as an ARC.
I absolutely hate to say I was not a fan of this book. I read her other book and absolutely was sucked in, so I was excited to get this one. Now, don't get me wrong...she writes a good book. I just felt like with this one it was just drug out as far as the plot. I'm also not one that usually guesses the "who" in the story, but I got one pretty quickly on.
The last probably 20% of the book was where it got intense and boy did she shock you. Never in a million years would I have predicted what was going to happen. I also have sympathy for Brooke and in the end, felt bad for her. I don't want to give things away, so I'll leave the rest of the context for you to read.
Overall, it's a good book for the genre and I'm sure there will be lots of people who feel the exact opposite of me (and that's great, we can't all like the same books). Just wasn't my cup of tea in the end.

Thank you to the publisher for an advanced copy of this book, a really fast-paced thriller that will keep your blood pumping. A girl died at the party that perfect-girl Brooke hosted last summer, and for months, Brooke has been too worried to socialize with her classmates. But it's college acceptance day, her parents have placed high pressures on her, and she needs to let loose, so she heads to a party where her crush will be. On the way home, she ends up in a fast-paced chase, followed by an unseen but terrifying person.
This story was definitely a page-turner!

This story brought back "I know what you did last summer" vibes and I'm here for it. I really enjoyed the story, it was thrilling and mysterious and a little bit scary. It's the perfect fall weekend read and I love that it was entertaining and engaging. A definite buy for my HS library.

3.5 stars. Nice twists. Not sure it was totally believable, but it was another wild ride from Lally.
Set in two timelines, we follow high school senior Brooke in the present day and in the recent past. Something major happened at a party Brooke held in September, and she has been lying low since then. Brooke is a high achiever, with a powerful father and an admission to Yale on the horizon. But Brooke has a secret--she has a stalker who has been putting the pressure on her to tell the truth about what happened in September.
Overall, this is an engaging and fast paced YA novel. You do have to suspend some disbelief and just go with the story, but there are a large number of surprises and thrills. The plot holes are confusing and some readers may not be able to see past them to appreciate the tale, so be warned that they are present.
It's very fast paced and I tore through this in a day because I wanted to know what would happen. It's entertaining albeit a bit frustrating when the past reveals don't come soon enough to fully appreciate what is happening in the present.
Overall it's totally worth reading, although not as good as That's Not My Name.

It was fast paced, and over all I enjoyed it. I just didn’t think certain parts of it were that plausible.

Thank you, NetGalley and publisher for this ARC. I read the authors first book, that’s not my name and I really loved that book. I enjoyed this book as well, but I think this book was geared more toward a younger audience such as a YA thriller. I was still able to enjoy the book, the plots and I really, thought the characters were well developed. It had suspense lies and murder, and I enjoyed the past and present scenarios throughout the book. If you enjoy why a thriller books, this is a definite yes and I would highly recommend it. If you want books that are have a more mature character lineup, and plot line, then I don’t think this book would be for you. I will definitely continue to read more from this author!!!

This was my first Megan Lally book-- and wow! This author is captivating. This story pulls you in so fast. I will defend YA mysteries so hard always!!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for this ARC in exchange for my honest review!
This book was so messy and I live for it. The whole twist was super obvious and it wasn’t as well done as Lally’s last book, but it was still a wild ride (literally). I love books with snobby backstabbing mean girls, so this was entertaining. There’s also plenty of action and suspense that very fast paced since this pretty much happens in a day with a little bit of flashback. This was a pretty solid sophomore novel so I’m ready for the next one!

One of my most anticipated releases of 2025!!!! I am breathless. This was twisty, heart pounding, edge of my seat. I might be a little dramatic but “that’s not my name” had me hooked the same way!! Megan Lally is an official autobuy author for me!!

This is my first book from Megan Lally, but I've heard good things so I was excited to dive in! Very fast paced YA thriller! It has all the elements you'd want in a book: car chases, drama, back-stabbing, stalkers, all the best! I'm a fan of multiple timelines, so this was a win for me. Thanks NetGalley for this opportunity!

Fantastic YA thriller! No Place Left to Hide is intense, fast-paced, and impossible to put down. I especially love characters that you probably shouldn’t root for.
Brooke Goodwin is an overachiever from a powerful legacy family, and she’s <thisclose> to succeeding in getting everything she wants. There’s just this small problem of an incident in her past she needs to get away from. All she needs is to get into Yale, and all her problems will float away in a few months’ time. Unfortunately, someone has been terrorizing Brooke through insistent pranks and phone calls. While Brooke has been hiding her torment from her family and close friends, she’s getting closer to a breaking point when she may need to ask for help, especially since it seems there might be more to that incident than she wants people to know.
The “Before” and “Now” settings make this book riveting, with every section pushing you to continue reading into the next chapter. Lally’s novel is filled with affluent teen voices, voices that make you hate them all just a little (or a lot), but you’re riveted to the story just the same. The drama is juicy and the secrets are juicier, and the novel itself goes down like a tasty, frothy milkshake. It’s sugary, it’s not really all that good for you, but it’s super fun and you don’t care about the calories.
There are a few plot issues and quite a few instances when you need to suspend disbelief. Interestingly, while you may figure things out before the end, the resolution is still satisfying. Ultimately, the book is an enjoyable YA romp that’ll make a fantastic vacation read. This is the kind of book that reminds you that reading for fun really is a thing; hopefully the target audience agrees.

Megan Lally delivers a thrilling ride in No Place Left to Hide. This YA novel is fast-paced and packed with twists and turns that keep you hooked from the very first page. The story is a quick and easy read, making it perfect for a weekend binge or a travel companion.
What stood out most for me was the shocking twist at the end—it was the kind of reveal that makes you rethink everything you’ve read. Lally masterfully balances suspense and intrigue, creating a gripping narrative that’s impossible to put down.
If you’re a fan of YA thrillers that keep you guessing, this book is a must-read!

Mean Girls + An “Incident” + Car Chase
My thoughts:
🤔 I read Megan Lally’s debut, That’s Not My Name, and I loved it! So, I was so excited to be chosen on NetGalley to read this one. No Place Left to Hide didn’t have nearly as many twists and turns as her first novel, but I did enjoy it, and it kept my interest.
🤔 Very good YA Thriller! A page turner for sure! It seemed most chapters ended on a mini-cliffhanger, which I enjoyed.
🤔 I did find it quite predictable. Although the ending wasn’t a huge surprise to me, I’m still glad I read this one.
Who is going to love it? Those who love…

No Place Left to Hide by Megan Lally was an okay read for me. I enjoyed the now and then timelines and getting to know the characters, but it didn’t quite hit the mark like her last book did. The premise had so much potential—Brooke’s perfect image unraveling after a chilling night had all the makings of a tense thriller—but something about it just didn’t fully land. That said, it’s a quick read with some suspenseful moments, so it is still worth checking out!

I really enjoyed the book., I thought that the ending was a bit rushed. But the quick pace of the story have you wanted to finish it in one sitting. I couldn't relate to the main character and I found her annoying but overall nice and quick reading,

This was such a thrilling book! The characters are interesting as you follow them through two timelines, one from a while back, where someone died under unfortunate circumstances, and one now, where someone else is being stalked. Its quite interesting and well thought out but the ending was a bit predictable.
Thank you to netgalley and the author for sending me the book in exchange for an honest review!

This fast-paced YA thriller will keep you hooked with its dual timelines (Now and Before). The book was quick, suspenseful, and filled with characters you love to hate! creating a whirlwind of stress. While some parts were a bit unbelievable, it was still a thrilling read from Megan Lally. Though the twist might not come as a huge surprise, the story is an incredibly fun ride. It perfectly blends suspense with jaw-dropping moments, making it a must-read for YA thriller fans.

I was a huge fan of Lally's debut, That's Not My Name, so was looking forward to her second book. This didn't disappoint! Very twisty and made me gasp out loud a few times. The dual timeline heightened the suspense as we gradually learn the truth of what happened that fateful night at the lake house. It was a very Mean Girls story times a thousand. Loved it!

*I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.*
Brooke Goodwin's life seems to be perfect. All of her hard work and extracurricular activities are paying off as she anxiously awaits her acceptance into Yale. She is not going to let "the incident" ruin the rest of her life. But someone wants Brooke to pay. When a couple of "harmless" pranks fail to rattle Brooke, No ID Caller begins their ruthless campaign on Brooke. Someone knows what happened that night and they want Brooke to pay.
Throughout the book we learn exactly what happened the night Brooke's life changed forever. Lally's writing style is fast paced and jam packed full of secrets, deception and suspense. This is a book that is more geared to a YA audience, so as a "seasoned" thriller reader some of the twists were a bit predictable but that in no way stopped me from continuing this book. The twists were good and the tension was spaced beautifully with humor and light moments.
Thank you to NetGalley, Megan Lally, and Sourcebooks Fire for this ARC. Expected publishing date is January 7th 2025.
