I really enjoyed this book! I feel like every time I read her books there's a new and interesting thing that she happens to come up with.

You almost always want to root for the main character because you think that they are the good persons in the story. I did that up until the very end. There's a Twist, and I was like damn! I didn't see that coming. I am so glad at the end day because it's like the perfect bow to wrap up the story

Thank you netgalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

What a wild ride! Literally this story went from 0 to 60 in a matter of pages. I could not put it down. I loved that the main character who we were set up to root for was actually so dark and twisted. In the words of Taylor Swift re Brooke, It's me, hi, I'm the problem it's me! The one criticism I have is that once Brooke found out the big twist, and that her best friend set up this elaborate scheme to blackmail her to confess, it was way too easy to figure out who the two coconspirators were. Otherwise this was perfect!

4✨ Wow another great YA read by Megan Lally! This book centers around Brooke who works hard to maintain perfect grades, perfect looks, a perfect life especially for her high status family. However there was an incident at her lake house where a girl ended up dead. Brooke can’t wait to escape everything from her town but not before going to one last party. The question is, will she survive the night?

This is a fast paced, nail biting, anxiety inducing thriller. It switches between the present and the past and so the story unfolds. I could not for the life of me put this book down!

The twist was very good but at about 60% in I guessed it (still a good twist). There were a couple of things I didn’t expect which were good additions. There also were some things I do consider plot holes but hey I’m not mad at that. It’s just pure vibes for me✨ And this one was vibing🤭 I feel like if you like pretty little liars, you will like this book!

Thank you Net Galley, Sourcebooks fire and Megan Lally for this ARC copy.

I absolutely loved her first book, That’s Not My Name, and this one was pretty good as well! I couldn’t put it down. It had me hooked from the very beginning. There was so much suspense! It had my heart racing at times wondering what was going to happen next. I wasn’t expecting that ending. I did guess some of the twists, but not all. It was a nonstop ride that I think thriller lovers would enjoy! I can’t wait for her next book!

No Place Left to Hide focuses on a group of senior high school students and the pressures they face with school, social life, dating, family and privilege. Everyone deals with the stress differently. Brooke Goodwin comes from a strict family where high achievement and outward perfection are expected. The chapters alternate between Before and Now, referring to an incident that jeopardized everything.

l don’t believe I am the intended audience for this book as the teenaged drama and stupid decisions were just a bit much for me. However, there are times when the tension and edge-of-your-seat anticipation of what was going to happen next were excellent. The twists were surprising, and I was shocked to find out the truth about some of the characters. Overall, 3.5 stars! Thank you to NetGalley and Sourcebooks Fire for the digital ARC.

No Place Left to Hide by Megan Lally is an interesting suspense story that is perfect for young adults similar to I Know What You Did Last Summer but it doesn’t show much after that concept.

4.5⭐️

First, I cannot thank NetGalley and Sourcebooks Fire enough for the ARC copy of this great YA Thriler.
*Note this one is available 1/7/2025*

I enjoyed Lally's debut novel so I was hoping the same for this one and boy did she deliver!!
I didn't find any of the characters to be likeable really, but that's what made me enjoy this story more. I think the way this was paced was done perfectly. The story unfolded in a great way.
I started to somewhat suspect what may be going on around the 60% mark, but honestly it did not take away from the enjoyment at all. Great shock factor and a truly fun read for sure!

I definitely recommend reading this one!!

Book review: No place left to hide by Megan Lally

This is a follow up YA thriller from Megan Lally who came out swinging with her banger That’s not my name!
Once again we are taken on a nail biting thrill ride narrated from the POV of Brooke. The chapters alternate between past and present, focusing on the death of a classmate and the aftermath. Someone thinks that Brooke lied and they’re out for revenge, things will continue to escalate until Brooke fesses up. Brooke doesn’t know what to admit to and she doesn’t know how to stop her stalker. How will it all end?

Well you’ll just have to read it and find out!
I really enjoyed this one, relatively quick read that kept you flipping the pages and a nail biting conclusion for this popcorn thriller. If you enjoyed that’s not my name I think you will enjoy this one.

Thankyou to NetGalley for the opportunity to read this arc in exchange for my honest opinion.

3.5- I enjoyed her first book better, but I still finished this one in less than 24 hours so it did start the year off good! Without giving away spoilers, this thriller wasn't the cookie cutter thriller and I enjoyed it being different. Definitely a YA thriller (everyone is in high school).

Thank you, NetGalley, for the chance to read this ARC! This is my first book of the year, and it’s already raising the bar!

Six months after a classmate's tragic death at Brooke's lake house, Ivy Day has arrived, and Brooke is eager for this to be the turning point in her life. However, as decisions from Ivy League schools come to light, significant secrets begin to surface as well!

I truly enjoy a captivating YA novel, and "No Place Left to Hide" certainly delivered! I finished it in just one day and was thoroughly engaged! The story was filled with suspense and mystery, and the plot flowed seamlessly, keeping me hooked as I eagerly turned the pages to discover what would happen next. This is definitely a five-star read!

Thank you NetGalley for allowing me to read this ARC.

I absolutely fell in love with Megan Lally's writing after reading That's Not My Name and was so excited to dive into this one. This book was a page turner and I NEEDED to know what happened next. This had me loving some characters while others were extremely unlikeable. However, when it came down to the "stalker", I found that I had things for the most part figured out. It was still a very entertaining read, but I just didn't love it as much as I had hoped.

Megan’s books scratch such an itch for me. I loved her debut so much that I was sure her sophomore novel would be a ride, and it sure didn’t disappoint. I was hooked! I seriously can’t wait to see what she does next,

First, I want to give a BIG Thank you to Net Galley, Sourcebooks Fire and Megan Lally for letting me be able to read this as an ARC.

I absolutely hate to say I was not a fan of this book. I read her other book and absolutely was sucked in, so I was excited to get this one. Now, don't get me wrong...she writes a good book. I just felt like with this one it was just drug out as far as the plot. I'm also not one that usually guesses the "who" in the story, but I got one pretty quickly on.

The last probably 20% of the book was where it got intense and boy did she shock you. Never in a million years would I have predicted what was going to happen. I also have sympathy for Brooke and in the end, felt bad for her. I don't want to give things away, so I'll leave the rest of the context for you to read.

Overall, it's a good book for the genre and I'm sure there will be lots of people who feel the exact opposite of me (and that's great, we can't all like the same books). Just wasn't my cup of tea in the end.

Thank you to the publisher for an advanced copy of this book, a really fast-paced thriller that will keep your blood pumping. A girl died at the party that perfect-girl Brooke hosted last summer, and for months, Brooke has been too worried to socialize with her classmates. But it's college acceptance day, her parents have placed high pressures on her, and she needs to let loose, so she heads to a party where her crush will be. On the way home, she ends up in a fast-paced chase, followed by an unseen but terrifying person.

This story was definitely a page-turner!

This story brought back "I know what you did last summer" vibes and I'm here for it. I really enjoyed the story, it was thrilling and mysterious and a little bit scary. It's the perfect fall weekend read and I love that it was entertaining and engaging. A definite buy for my HS library.

3.5 stars. Nice twists. Not sure it was totally believable, but it was another wild ride from Lally.

Set in two timelines, we follow high school senior Brooke in the present day and in the recent past. Something major happened at a party Brooke held in September, and she has been lying low since then. Brooke is a high achiever, with a powerful father and an admission to Yale on the horizon. But Brooke has a secret--she has a stalker who has been putting the pressure on her to tell the truth about what happened in September.

Overall, this is an engaging and fast paced YA novel. You do have to suspend some disbelief and just go with the story, but there are a large number of surprises and thrills. The plot holes are confusing and some readers may not be able to see past them to appreciate the tale, so be warned that they are present.

It's very fast paced and I tore through this in a day because I wanted to know what would happen. It's entertaining albeit a bit frustrating when the past reveals don't come soon enough to fully appreciate what is happening in the present.

Overall it's totally worth reading, although not as good as That's Not My Name.

It was fast paced, and over all I enjoyed it. I just didn’t think certain parts of it were that plausible.

Thank you, NetGalley and publisher for this ARC. I read the authors first book, that’s not my name and I really loved that book. I enjoyed this book as well, but I think this book was geared more toward a younger audience such as a YA thriller. I was still able to enjoy the book, the plots and I really, thought the characters were well developed. It had suspense lies and murder, and I enjoyed the past and present scenarios throughout the book. If you enjoy why a thriller books, this is a definite yes and I would highly recommend it. If you want books that are have a more mature character lineup, and plot line, then I don’t think this book would be for you. I will definitely continue to read more from this author!!!

This was my first Megan Lally book-- and wow! This author is captivating. This story pulls you in so fast. I will defend YA mysteries so hard always!!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for this ARC in exchange for my honest review!

This book was so messy and I live for it. The whole twist was super obvious and it wasn’t as well done as Lally’s last book, but it was still a wild ride (literally). I love books with snobby backstabbing mean girls, so this was entertaining. There’s also plenty of action and suspense that very fast paced since this pretty much happens in a day with a little bit of flashback. This was a pretty solid sophomore novel so I’m ready for the next one!
