The reason I love YA thrillers is because they are soooo bingeable and I am here for the high school drama lol
Cringey and predictable? Yes, but who cares cause it’s so easy to read and I don’t have to think hard

This book is an absolute thrill ride from beginning to end. It’s packed with suspense and has so many twists that you won’t be able to put it down. The story is super engaging, and the characters feel real. The pace never slows down, and just when you think you’ve figured it out, the plot hits you with another curveball. The ending is intense and keeps you on your toes. If you love thrillers that keep you guessing, this one’s a must-read. It’s definitely a book that’ll stick with you long after you finish it!

This was an enjoyable read, though not as groundbreaking as the author’s debut.
It’s a fast-paced and easy-to-follow thriller that kept me entertained, but I wouldn’t call it a must-read. While it held my interest, the clues were a bit too obvious, and I had figured out the culprit by the halfway mark. I wish there had been fewer hints to make the twists more shocking.
The writing is simple and accessible in a good way. At times, the tone felt a bit catty and very high school, but given that it’s a YA thriller, that makes sense. However, it definitely had a stronger YA feel compared to the author’s first book.

No Place Left to Hide is a heart-racing, taut thriller that grips readers from the very first page and refuses to let go. At its core is Brooke, a high school perfectionist whose meticulously crafted life conceals a dark, haunting secret known only as “the incident.” As she draws closer to her long-held dream of escaping the past, a seemingly innocent night of celebration spirals into a terrifying fight for survival when she and her best friend are relentlessly pursued by a sinister figure bent on unraveling the truth.
One of the novel’s most compelling aspects is its lightning-fast pacing. From the outset, the tension is palpable, escalating steadily and maintaining an atmosphere of suspense and impending doom. Though some twists may feel predictable for a keen-eyed reader, the final revelation strikes with an unexpected ferocity, deepening the sense of unease and adding a chilling dimension to the story’s resolution.
Beyond its thrilling plot, the book delves deeply into themes of guilt, identity, and the lengths to which individuals will go to protect their secrets. Brooke, as a protagonist, is both relatable and multidimensional—her emotional journey and resourcefulness in the face of extreme danger make her a character worth rooting for, particularly for teens grappling with the pressures to uphold a flawless exterior.
In conclusion, No Place Left to Hide is a captivating, intricately crafted thriller that masterfully balances psychological complexity with relentless suspense. While its twists may not astonish every reader, the novel’s expertly woven plot and its unforgettable finale ensure that it remains an exhilarating and satisfying read for those who enjoy fast-paced, character-driven stories.

Brooke grapples with a set of unyielding standards that ultimately leads her to a fateful confrontation at a party, forever changing the course of her life. *No Place Left to Hide* delves into the weight of family expectations and the intricate social dynamics of adolescence. While the plot does offer moments of tension and mystery, it is the characters that ultimately disappoint, feeling superficial and clichéd within the young adult genre. They eerily echo the '90s teen thrillers yet fail to infuse any real depth. By the end, they become utterly intolerable, leaving the surprise conclusion feeling disappointingly flat.

I'm giving this 4.5 stars and rounding up to 5 because the last 50% of the book impressed me. A bit of a slow start but absolutely worth the read! I do feel like there could have been a little less backstory but once the action got started, it didn't stop. A well thought out plot and while I kinda guessed the ending, I didn't guess it in its entirety. Absolutely a book that makes you love to hate the characters, which is great because I don't get the chance to read too many of those. Perfect for young adult readers who are into thrillers!

When I saw that this author had written another book, I was super excited. When I read, That’s Not My Name I was hooked. This book had me hooked as well. It reminded me of a mix of Pretty Little Liars and all the other teen dramas together. I will continue to read all the books that this author puts out. Thank you to NetGalley, Megan Lally, and Sourcebooks Fire for the ARC

Fast paced quick read with twists and WHOA! moments. Megan Lally knows how to write in a compelling and engaging way to keep the interest of teen readers.

I loved Megan Lally's first book and her follow up was just as nail-bittingly suspenseful. It wasn't what I imagined and the twist in the story wasn't what I expected, but it definitely kept my attention and left issues to discuss about wealth, privilege and doing the right thing. This is one that I'm sure my students will love.

This is Megan Lally's second book and after reading her debut novel That's Not My Name and really enjoying it I knew that I had to pick this book up!
This follows Brooke, who has to keep up this imagine because of who her parents are. She has to have perfect grades, perfect clothes and just be perfect 24/7. One night there is a horrible 'accident' that taints the perfect view of Brooke and she wants to start fresh. She has stopped going to parties and has been living the straight and narrow. She is waiting to hear if she got into her dream school Yale and when she does her best friend Jena talks her into going to a party to celebrate. The problem is, someone is out for revenge over the supposed accident that happened the previous summer.
This book was exciting and fun and I couldn't wait to see who was trying to get revenge. I listened to this book on audio and definitely think that helped impact the experience in a good way. The narrator - Justis Bolding - did an amazing job. I loved the bouncing back and forth between Now and Then (the accident).
There are definitely a lot of twists in this book and some I did not see coming. The ending was definitely wrapped up nicely and I was happy with the ending. While this book is definitely more on the YA side, which I don't normally like, I enjoyed this book and would recommend it.
Read if you like:
-Dual now and then chapters
-Unhinged characters
-YA suspense
-Good atmosphere and tension
-Plot twists
Thank you @netgalley and Sourcebooks fire for the #gifted copy.

First of all, thank you to NetGalley for my advanced copy (even though I'm a little late with my review :))
This book was not bad. I definitely liked Megan Lally's first book better (That's Not My Name). This book was interesting and it did keep me engaged, but it just fell flat for me, 3,5 stars for me! (rounded to 4 stars on here!)

Megan Lally’s 'No Place Left to Hide' is a gripping, fast-paced thriller that keeps readers on edge from start to finish. The story follows a girl on the run, desperate to escape a relentless killer while unraveling secrets that could save—or doom—her. Lally masterfully blends suspense, survival, and emotional depth, making the protagonist’s journey feel both intense and personal. With sharp writing, well-crafted twists, and a constant sense of danger, this book is perfect for fans of high-stakes thrillers. A must-read for anyone craving a heart-pounding mystery!

This is book was really good. I enjoy Megan Lally writing so much. Loved both her books so far. Can't wait to read more. I can't wait to do the audible of this book as well

I'd give it three and a half stars i think. lots of mean girls/pretty little liars vibes here. I Predicted the “twist” pretty early on BUT the truth and end result still got me. Would still recommend.

Make sure you buckle in when you get ready to read this one. It is a suspenseful, twisty ride. I can't say much without giving the twists away, but I absolutely LOVED this one and can't wait to put it in my students hands.

After reading "That's Not My Name" recently, I knew I had to pick up Lally's newest book! Just like her last, this book started kind of slow but definitely hooked me. I did not see the twist coming in this and I am still thinking about it daily, weeks later. I am loving the quick thrillers Lally is putting out, and will definitely keep reading.

I love thriller and horror YA books, so this one was right down my alley! I listened to this audiobook and could not stop listening until the very end. Multiple surprise TWISTS and that ending, OH MY GOD!!! Just unbelievably FANTASTIC!
Brooke, a high school student with a perfect GPA, strict parents, and a coveted image, is trying to gain that perfect, cool image back after a horrific accident at her lake house party last year that left one friend dead. An accident in which many blamed Brooke, however, she was left blameless by the law. The receiver of escalating threats and vandalism, Brooke is "bullied" by her best friend to go to a party, at the lake, where her crush will also be.
All is cool and well until Brooke and her bestie head home....
(I can't say much more than that otherwise I'd give it all away)
I was left FLOORED with all of the twists and turns, especially the LAST TWIST! Huge SHOCKER!

I enjoyed this one! It kept me on edge and while it may have been a little predicable I still enjoyed the read.

If you’re a fan of thrillers, this one is a must-read for young adults! No Place Left to Hide is a fast-paced, suspense-filled ride that will have you glued to the pages.
The story follows Brooke, the golden child from the perfect family... until a tragic incident at a summer party changes everything. Now, she’s trying desperately to get back into her parents’ good graces, all while keeping a dark secret — someone is threatening her.
From creepy messages to vandalized cars and articles left for her, things only get worse. With the pressure mounting, Brooke is talked into another party where things spiral out of control, and the truth starts to surface.
This book is an absolute rollercoaster. While I loved it as a vibe read, I can totally see it becoming a favorite among teens. I wish we had more intense, engaging thrillers like this when I was in high school!
Definitely recommend this one if you’re looking for a thrilling mystery with a relatable, edge of your seat read.

OMG that ending was so unhinged.... I love it so much. I'm really glad I was alone while reading this. I can just imagine my facial expressions at some points!
