Just WOW! My second Megan Lally novel and I can’t wait to read more. This sets up as a slow burn. Great character development and story background Holy cow! Once the fireworks start popping, it’s nonstop action the whole way. So many secrets, lies and misgivings. It was impossible to know who to trust. Crazy great reveals, I loved everything about this book. Big 5 stars from me.
Thank you NetGalley, Megan Lally and Sourcebooks Fire for the opportunity to read and review this cracker of a book.

I recently read “That’s Not My Name” by Megan Lally and truly enjoyed it so when I saw “No Place Left to Hide” available to request on NetGalley, I immediately requested it!

This story was everything I didn’t think it was! I was completely shocked by the entire twist and the ending… like wtf was that! So good! The beginning started off a little slow but by chapter 5 I was completely invested!

Most of the story does take place in a single small spaced area which normally I don’t think I would like but Lally has such a way of writing the setting and events that you feel like you’re actually experiencing all of the anxiety, stress and fear right along side the characters. She is truly such a gifted thriller writer!

I will officially read anything Megan Lally writes! If you’re looking for a twisty, thrilling read, I highly recommend this book!

Thank you #NetGalley & @meganlally for this ARC of No Place Left to Hide”

I really liked this one and I can’t wait to read more from this author. I ate this up in one sitting and I was not expecting that ending.

After getting into her dream school, Brooke heads to a party to celebrate, only to be terrorized by an unknown assailant as the past resurfaces.

This was an interesting read that definitely has a lot of twists and turns, You get a past and present chapters that get you into the story. I found myself going back and forth with which story I felt was more interesting. The present day chapters were honestly terrifying at times. it was nonstop on the road or the woods and heart pounding.

This was honestly a 4 star read all the way up until the last quarter. But the twists were interesting, just might not be for me.

All in all, an interesting and hear pounding YA thriller.

Thank you to the author and publisher for the gifted copy!

This author is great. I have read both of her books and while this one is #2 with rating (her first book would be hard to beat because it was incredible) it’s good enough that I’ll be searching for the date of her next release. I absolutely recommend this book. It was predictable to a degree but a fun read. 4/5 stars

Firstly, thank you to NetGalley and Sourcebooks fire for the arc! This was my first time reading from Megan Lally and it was such an amazing read that I nearly read it all in one.

My first complaint with thrillers/whodunnits is that I always end up predicting the ending, but I oddly missed the mark with this read and I’m so happy about it. The twist was completely unexpected.

This was such an easy yet exciting read, I can’t wait to check out the authors other works.

4.5 stars. megan lally blew me away with her debut novel, that's not my name, and i've been so excited to read her second book, no place left to hide. if there's one thing that lally knows how to do, it's write a high stakes thriller. i truly did not see the big plot twist coming and i was so surprised she went that route, but i loved it. this book was a wild ride and i think if you liked her debut you'll enjoy this one as well

Thank you to NetGalley for letting me read an early copy of No Place Left To Hide!
High school drama, perfect image, wrapped in a mystery of what really happened at that summer party that changed everything...
For Brooke, a high-schooler from the prestigious private school, Waldorf, all her life has been about the perfect image, perfect grades, and perfect life - until she starts receiving calls, and cryptic messages from an unknown sender who keeps telling her to confess what really happened to her friend-turned-enemy Claire, who drowned the first week of school. But if Claire's drowning was ruled an accident, then why is she being harassed by the unknown sender? Mean girls, sprinkled with I know what you did last summer, and Scream vibes.

I did struggle in the first few chapters to start reading No Place Left to Hide by Megan Lally - I felt it was a bit slow, and wished the flaskback storyline started earlier than it did. While I did struggle with it in the beginning, once I hit the 35% mark, the pacing picked up, and with the flashback and current timelines being mixed into the story, it was a quick read.
The twists in this book I felt were easy to quess, and I was able to figure out early on from a few sentences sprinkled throuhgout the book who the killer was and the culprits who were stalking Brooke. (The instances were the killer was moving around I was able to figure out who it was, also the sidekick character behavior and the sentences that she spoke). However, I found the book was well-paced that I still needed to finish it to the end, and the ending was definitely a satisfying read after learning the truth and finishing Claire's story.
While it was an obvious storyline, I still really enjoyed reading this book, and would definitely recommend; I did really enjoy reading, but how it was going to end was obvious early on, I give it a solid ⭐️⭐️⭐️ read

it's a very fast, easy, and unputdownable read that I recommend to YA thriller lovers! I loved it. I will read more for sure.

Thank you, NetGalley!

I'll start by saying I gave her other book, That's Not My Name, 5 stars. Both books are YA thrillers, but the difference is that TNMN only felt YA because most of the characters were high school age. The plot was much heavier and more adult. NPLTH read extremely YA throughout the entirety of the novel.

This book has dual timeline, unreliable narrator, academic rivals (not romantically), short chapters, under 300 pages.

It was very fast-paced and easily digestible. The ending wasn't as satisfying as I was hoping it would be, but that won't discourage me from recommending it once it comes out in January.
I enjoyed it thoroughly and will continue to read more of Megan Lally's work.

This is my second title by the same author and I really enjoyed it! This was a solid 4.5 for me out of 5. I read this via eBook as part of an ARC opportunity through NetGalley. (That's Not My Name by the same author is still my favorite by her!)

This story was engaging from start to finish. It was a quick read with dual timelines, which I love as a reader. I truly thought I had it all figured out, but I did not! This had a major twist at the end that I didn't see coming and had me in a true WTF moment. This book gave me all the mean girl vibes and was hard to put down. I highly recommend this book if you enjoy fast-paced and twisty with strong female characters.

Thank you NetGalley, for giving me the opportunity to enjoy this ARC copy of No Place Left to Hide!

This was an amazing, fast paced thriller. My watch actually prompted me to relax LOL. There were so many enjoyable things about this book, mostly the journey. I could not put it down at all. However, the plot holes were insane and the reason I couldn’t justify 5 stars.

Non Stop Suspense, fast paced page turner!
Mean girls times 20!!!
I enjoyed the Before and Now chapters helping me get to know more about the characters.
But let’s talk about the twist… everything was changed, I have so many questions?!

Overall rating is 4 star
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Thank you Netgalley for the ARC I had already preordered through Barnes and noble and I was very excited to read this advanced copy. The authors first book That’s Not My Name was a 5 star suspenseful read for me and I knew this would be another suspenseful book.

This was such a great book. I had a very hard time putting it down. I would definitely recommend this book to others if they like thrillers.

Like Megan Lally’s previous book this proved to be a fast engaging read that had plenty of twists and surprises towards the end. This book is told in past and present chapters and I was struggling to figure out if I was supposed to feel bad for the FMC. As we learn more about what happened in the past I couldn’t help but think about a recent case from the South involving a prominent lawyer family and an incident surrounding drunk driving and a boat.
Overall I enjoyed this one and it’s a solid YA thriller.

A little predictable but a fun wild ride. Love how the author made us feel sympathy for a certain character and then in the end see it differently.

Thank you Netgalley and Sourcebooks Fire for an e-galley in exchange for a honest review. Between No Place Left to Hide and Thats not my Name, I am LOVING Megan Lally's YA Thrillers. Right off, I hated most off these characters between the culprit and the actual victim. The main story revolves around Brooke Goodwin who is the IT girl until 6 months before when a boating accident occurs and takes one of the lives of her classmate, Claire. Claire's brother blames Brooke for the accident. Plus, Brooke begins receiving calls from an unknown number, tires slashed, among other threats. Brooke's bff Jen invites her to a party citing that she's been lying low for quite some time with the promise of her crush attending the party. However, on the way home a car begins to tailgate them. Brooke then realizes she must do everything in her power to evade them, but will she?

Thank you to net galley and source books for allowing me to read a copy of No places Left to Hide by Megan Lally. I read Megan Lally first book earlier this month so I was excited when a friend mentioned that netgalley had a new book out by her. This book was not as good as her debut. this book didn't have original scenes. I think it was written more from the ya perspective. Rich people own a party house at a lake and the teenagers use the house for partying. Things go wrong someone dies.

Title: No Place to Hide
Author: Megan Lally
Publisher: SourceBooks Fire
Genre: YA/Teen- Mystery Thriller
Pub Date: January 7, 2025
My Rating: 2.5 Stars
Pages: 272

Story is told ‘Now’ and ‘Before’ giving readers what happened as well as what is going on currently.

Brooke Goodwin has always aimed for perfection, perfect image, perfect student never showing stress –perfectly composed at all times!— until a tragic boat accident during a party she secretly organized at her parents' summer house resulted in the life loss of her arch-nemesis, Claire Heck. Claire’s brother blames Brooke and threatened her in public,

When friends want to celebrate end of senior year with a beach party, Brooke’s friend Jen talks her into going and promises they'll be home before curfew and won't drink or get into trouble.

However, as they are heading home from the party an old truck is following them on the isolated road toward home. Someone wants the truth about "the accident” to be revealed and wants Brooke to come clean.

I read and enjoyed [author: Megan Lally]’s debut novel [book: That’s Not My name] so went into this with high expectations.
Having worked as a high school counselor and having many students apply to the Ivy League colleges as well as other high selective colleges. I could associate with Brooke’s anticipation in waiting for notification so I immediately was sure I was going to like this story.
However, I soon struggled with Brooke - her foul language was getting to me. As I mentioned I worked with teens for years and yes! I know they use profanity but I also know they have a filter. I hung in there as often the end makes me glad I put up with the foul language.

I know I am not the target audience for this story but as a high school guidance counselor I always enjoy reading YA stories plus am I thriller fan.
However this really didn’t work for me.

I always enjoy reading the author’s Notes and/or Acknowledgement.
In this case, Ms. Lally tells us readers how difficult it is to write a second novel.
She tells us that this story is incredibly twisted and it is about what happens when bad decisions lead to consequences.
She tells us that that this is her - mean girl thriller!

Among her thanks to her many supporters, includes her husband Brady for tolerating her when she goes on ranting about characters who
don’t exist.

This made me laugh and although I didn’t love this story. Her acknowledgments had me round-up my rating!!!

Have to admit I will check out Megan Lally’s next novel!

Wow, if you enjoyed That’s Not My Name, then you will absolutely love No Place Left To Hide! I did not foresee the plot twist; it left me speechless… technically not speechless, I kept saying, “OMG.” I loved the characters, the plot, and the ending. I can’t wait to see what this author has in store next!
