I really do enjoy a good teen drama with all the yelling and dramatics and tension. This was past paced and had good twists. I'm a big fan of Lally at this point and will continue to read her works.

🌻𝚆𝚑𝚊𝚝 𝙸 𝚑𝚊𝚟𝚎 𝚝𝚘 𝚜𝚊𝚢...This book was exactly what I needed!! 🙌You know that time after Christmas when you don’t know what day it is..your tired from making all the magic & just feel stuck with no attention span whatsoever?!? 🤯Well, it happens to me every year right after! Not one book could pull me out of this funk until I started this one! 🤩🙌 The suspense was nonstop & even though the characters weren’t very likable the story was very believable!! I mean teenagers don’t think with their heads AT ALL..only their hearts so this shit easily could’ve happened. I loved Lally’s debut(𝘛𝘩𝘢𝘵𝘴 𝘕𝘰𝘵 𝘔𝘺 𝘕𝘢𝘮𝘦) so I was already pumped for this book, but this one was even more fun! 🥳🤸Woohoooooo! Thanks for my advanced copy 💗& bravo @megan_lally_ 👏

After a tragic night at the lake house of Brooke Goodwin is ruled an accident, someone in Brooke's life decides she will never forget what happened.
As privledged Brooke tries to lead her charmed life and finish out her senior year and continue on to the Ivy League, she is tortured by someone around her. But are these incidents harmless pranks or an indicator for what is to come?
No Place Left to Hide delivers the same page turning excitement we have learned to expect from Megan Lally.
Thank you SOURCEBOOKS Fire and NetGalley for a copy of this great book in exchange for my honest review.

No Place Left to Hide follows Brooke who is an image obsessed teenager as she is being harassed of an incident that happened at her lake house party. Since the party Brooke has basically turned into a hermit, she only focuses at school and goes home, however on Ivy day her best friend Jenna convinces her to go to a celebration party for a few hours. On the way back home from the party things go awry and Brooke and Jenna are being followed by someone who is trying to make Brooke confess her wrong doings or she will die.
This book was very fast paced and the chapters moved along quite nicely. The before and now chapters, were a great addition to help the reader know first hand what actually happened during that party at the lake house where Claire died.
I enjoyed the book but found that it the motives for all characters were a bit far fetched and that there were a few plot holes in it. Early on I was able to deduct who the culprit was, and I am in no way someone who gets upset by knowing but even when I know I expect a twist or a better reason as motive. Furthermore, I think I was also expecting and wanting them all to either get away with it or to all be brought to justice.
Thank you NetGalley and Sourcebooks Fire for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you to Netgalley for an ARC of No Place Left to Hide!
I LOVED Megan Lally's first book and her sophomore novel did not disappoint! It's slightly different from her first but it worked wonders all the same. I'm usually not a fan of the 'roadtrip' style of books but it worked well in this thriller.
I was slightly disappointed in the ending as it felt rushed and unfinished but it was still such an enjoyable read. Perfect for thriller readers who enjoy reading flashbacks interspersed with the present.

This book had me hooked from beginning to end! No Place Left to Hide is a fast paced YA thriller with enough suspense to keep you turning those pages. The dual timelines helped put the story together and even though I guessed that certain things would happen it didn't take away from the story especially with that ending.
I would recommend for those looking for a quick, bingeable read.
Thank you so much to @sourcebooksfire and @netgalley for a copy of the arc to review.

I really enjoyed Megan Lally’s debut and was pleased to get this one, which is a decent YA thriller.
Fast pacing, unreliable and unlikeable characters, wealthy (spoilt!) teenagers and parties are the background to this story.
The two timelines didn’t feel necessary and I didn’t connect with any of the characters, so I wasn’t completely invested in this story as I would usually be with a thriller like this. I did guess the ending and am still contemplating the believability of it.

.Ugh Megan you have done it again. This fast paced thriller had me reading this book in one setting( just like Thats not my name). You have definitely hit the nail on the head with this thriller! The combination of the action, mystery, and suspense had me on the edge of my seat 95% of the time. The ending of this one has me blind sided ( which I loved). I really was not expecting it, but it was everything I didn’t know I needed! The character development definitely had me hooked, satisfied how everything ended and left me with my jaw on the floor.

Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I was so excited for Megan Lally’s No Place Left to Hide after reading her debut novel, That’s Not My Name. The book presents itself as a twisty, gripping thriller, full of tension, survival, and high school back-stabbing. However, while the premise has potential, the execution leaves much to be desired.
The novel is told in two timelines which, while necessary for the plot, slowed down the novel’s momentum. Lally attempts to balance the two, but the pacing feels uneven, resulting in all the action being pushed to the last third of the book, making it difficult for the emotional beats to resonate.
Another issue I have is with the characters. I don’t like any of them. I guess I kind of liked Dylan for a minute, but upon reflection, it’s because he’s so bland, I can superimpose any traits I want on him. There were glimpses of moments where the characters are sympathetic, but it’s not enough to make me invested in their stories.
I did really enjoy the climax of the book. The action scenes are intense and suspenseful. While it took me about three months to finish this book (an abnormally long time for me) I read the post-party chase and ensuing scenes in an afternoon. I was so excited that the plot was finally picking up, which is why the resolution of the book was an even bigger let down.
Overall, No Place Left to Hide feels like it is trying to be more ambitious than it ultimately is. It lacks the pacing and relatable characters that could have made it stand out in the crowded genre of YA thrillers.

Ah, high school: the land of perfect grades, perfect selfies, and perfectly buried secrets—until some psycho in a rust bucket decides to ruin everything. Welcome to Brooke’s life, a twisty thriller that feels like the lovechild of Pretty Little Liars and Mean Girls.
Brooke is the quintessential overachiever with a picture-perfect life, carefully curated to erase the stain of “the incident.” But when a celebratory night ends with her being stalked on a desolate road by a truck with serious rage issues, Brooke’s tightly controlled world unravels faster than you can say “danger ahead.”
What really makes this book shine, though, is Brooke’s character arc. She starts off as the typical “must be perfect” protagonist, but by the end, she’s faced with a gut-wrenching question: how far would you go to protect your reputation? Her choices are messy, her emotions raw, and it’s hard not to root for her even when you’re screaming, “Girl, what are you doing?!”
The story is a whirlwind of tension, secrets, and “holy crap, did that just happen?” moments. Megan Lally’s writing pulls you in like quicksand. Is the pacing a bit frantic? Sure. I legitimately had to check my pulse at one point. Brooke’s fear is palpable, and as the mystery of who’s behind the wheel (and what they want) unfolds, you’ll find yourself double-checking your locks. She’s flawed, relatable, and just messy enough to keep you hooked.
The twist, while solid, wasn’t as mind-blowing as I’d hoped. I saw part of it coming, but it didn’t detract much from the thrill. Also, the side characters—especially Brooke’s best friend—could’ve used more depth. Still, the relentless pace and sharp writing made this a compulsive read.

Wow. There’s not much I can say about this book without spoilers. It’s worth your time. I did guess some things, but I was completely fooled on a major plot point. Now I want to read the author’s first book even more!
Thanks to NetGalley and Sourcebooks Fire for the eARC. All opinions are my own.

No Place Left to Hide centres on Brooke, the high-school “queen bee”, who becomes the target of harassment after an incident at one of her parties a few months prior.
What really stood out to me in this one was Megan Lally’s success in creating the unreliable narrator. Honestly, I was never a big fan of Brooke, and it was honestly difficult to read sometimes with the way she spoke and acted. However, when it was revealed why she acted that way and what she had actually done, the rest of her character and behaviour took an entirely new light. I honestly wasn’t expecting it right up until a few chapters before.
The narrative structure of the novel was done well. I enjoy past and present timelines, and it didn’t feel as though we were spending too much or too little time in one or the other. The short chapters and the flicking back-and-forth between timelines helped keep the novel fast-paced, which in turn really helped create the atmosphere and suspense.
There were some minor plot holes that I guess could have been left up to interpretation, but I personally would’ve just preferred clean-cut answers. Like how Jena managed to leave the scene, and how Dylan and Felix didn’t get in trouble for injuring a police officer and totaling a cruiser. Mostly small things, but I think they could have been easily wrapped up.
I also wished for a slightly stronger ending. I enjoyed the text messages and seeing how the three planned the “takedown”, but I would’ve really loved a final chapter in Brooke’s point-of-view when she’s getting arrested, or while she’s on trial, anything like that. It would have been especially interesting seeing as though her father abandoned her.
Overall, this was a fast-paced thriller with some good twists, but wasn’t a total favourite for me.

Megan Lally has me sat and has easily turned into one of my favorite authors.
No Place Left to Hide follows Brooke Goodwin who had an incident months ago, but is determined to put it behind her and secure her future. The golden girl with a successful family and the adoration of all her classmates, nothing can change Brooke's path.
Except... maybe someone who really knows what happened that night.
We get a split narrative of 'before' and 'now' which makes the pace of this book seem like it's flying by. It leaves you desperate for the next chapter, the next thing to happen. Lally does an amazing job of writing characters true to their age and true to their personalities. We see Brooke slowly unravel the person she is throughout the book, and it truly hits you hard by the end.
I loved this book and think it's a top contender for best YA thriller by a mile. Big thank you to Netgalley and Sourcebooks Fire for the e-arc!

I enjoyed Megan Lally’s debut, but this book didn't resonate with me as much. Don't get me wrong.. it still had considerable suspense and kept me engaged until the end. However, I felt a strong disconnect from the characters, as they were all quite unlikable.
Perhaps if the book had been longer and covered more than just two days, we could have seen better character development. Additionally, the story had some plot holes and felt unrealistic at times. I suppose this is a YA thriller, so I shouldn't be too surprised, haha.
Thank you to Netgalley for my arc.

Great quick read! Megan done it again! She always keeps you entertained with the story! I like the “before” & “now” that she uses to go back and forth to keep you guessing!

I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this audiobook! The plot was fast paced and gripping, my heart was pounding and several points!

This is a dark YA thriller about rich people behaving badly.
Brooke appears to have it all. She goes to a prestigious school, runs every club and social event, and was just accepted to Yale. A secret from the start of her senior year threatens to unravel everything.
This book kept me hooked from the very beginning. It is told in chapters alternating between now and flashbacks to a party that went horribly wrong at the beginning of the school year. A girl is dead, Brooke was cleared in the investigation, but someone wants the truth to come out about that night.
I went back and forth between whether I liked Brooke or not. She had it all, and at times seemed to be a kind person who genuinely cared about others. At other times, she seemed like her social status meant more to her than anything or anyone else. You don't get an answer on who she really is until the end.
The author did a great job telling a story about an entire year of school while keeping the events solidly over the course of one horrifying night (with flashbacks to the last party), but it worked for me.
If you are an adult or a YA thriller lover, this is one you should check out.

This is my second book by Megan Lally, and it definitely didn’t disappoint! *No Place Left to Hide* is full of suspense, keeping me hooked from start to finish. The unexpected twist at the end was a nice surprise, adding an extra layer of intrigue to the story.
I can easily imagine this as a fantastic horror/thriller movie. The creepy atmosphere and high suspense would make for a gripping adaptation, perfect for fans of tense, edge-of-your-seat films. If you're looking for a quick, fast-paced YA mystery, I wholeheartedly recommend this one when it’s released. It’s a thrilling read that will leave you eager for more!
Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with a free advance copy in exchange for an honest review!

After falling head over heels for Megan Lally's debut, That’s Not My Name, I couldn’t wait to dive into her second book—and it did not disappoint! While both novels are YA, No Place Left to Hide leans heavily into classic high school drama with a dark, twisted edge. Think Pretty Little Liars meets Mean Girls, but with higher stakes, a murder mystery, and enough secrets to keep you guessing until the very last page.
The story kicks off with a group of high schoolers at a party that takes a deadly turn. Someone ends up dead, but the real question is: who’s the monster behind it all? Told in dual timelines, the chapters alternate between the present, where the aftermath of the murder unfolds, and the past, which slowly reveals the events leading up to that fateful night.
Expect plenty of high school drama—mean girls, secret crushes, betrayals, and a stalker lurking in the shadows. There’s revenge, car chases, and a cast of deeply flawed, often unlikeable characters who will make you question everyone’s motives.
This book is dripping with tension and drama. It captures the toxic dynamics of high school cliques and the lengths people will go to protect their secrets. The dual timelines kept me hooked, as each chapter revealed just enough to make me desperate for more. The Pretty Little Liars-esque twists and turns had me gasping, and I couldn’t flip the pages fast enough.
Final Thoughts
While I didn’t love this as much as That’s Not My Name, it’s still a five-star read for me. Megan Lally knows how to craft a suspenseful, drama-filled story that keeps you on edge from start to finish. If you love YA thrillers with messy characters, jaw-dropping twists, and plenty of high school drama, this one’s for you.

If you haven't read "That's Not My Name" by Megan Lally, released in 2024, this is another suspense-filled thriller that would be a great opportunity to introduce yourself to the author. For any parents looking for a thriller for a teenager or youth without any concerns of overly explicit scenes or profanity, this would be something I would have no concerns recommending. I loved that I knew there was SOMETHING more to the "incident" and Brooke but I never knew to what extent. How far are you willing to go for what you want? Who would you throw under the bus to get there? Is it worth it? What will it take for the truth to come out?
