The book was ok. it just seem like a basic book. I also found it a bit difficult to keep trying to listen to it.

Thank you NetGalley for the arc.

This is a review of both the story of So Into You, and the audiobook, which I received an ARC of and am now voluntarily giving an honest review.
So to start off a little bit with the story, Britt (Brittany) is a 28 year old with severe anxiety and a popular YouTube art channel, living with her mother. Interesting start, one would assume this book is about her coming into her own, making big changes, maybe getting some space from the near co-dependent relationship she has with her mother. That isn’t exactly what happens.
Through her YouTube channel, she meets Hunter- a guy near her age and struggling- he made some mistakes when he was a younger, spoiled and handsome rich kid, but he really wants to change his life around- enter Britt and learning art. Through the story, we see them grow to hang out more and possibly try out a relationship- which Britt has never had because of anxiety and Hunter never really had because he didn’t take life seriously. Their love story? Cute.
However, what you also get in this story is about Britt’s parents- divorced when she was 8, Britt’s dad has a rough history and wants to make it better, and her mom never had another relationship, using Britt’s anxiety as a crutch to not introducing other people into her life. Cue the semi co-dependent relationship between a divorced become single mom and her grown daughter who hide things from each other (as adults can do), but then completely unravel when they learn of the other’s lie. Honestly, the mom was my LEAST favorite character- she was always either tired, blaming Brittany, babying Brittany, or playing the “oh, I’m such a bad mother?” Card to Britt or the dad.
Sorry, I digress. In all honesty, without the mother’s perspective I may have given this a higher rating but I also really hated the third act breakup of it all. You could see where it was going to happen from a third into the book as everyone learned about this party and everyone was saying “I know I have secrets, I’ll tell ___ after.” But also, I’m used to a third act breakup as a romance reader. I didn’t love Britt’s side of things as much as how it impacted Hunter- I feel like he grew up much more and it really helped him, whereas Britt was still living with her parents and there was the wedding discussion at the end that made me roll my eyes.
All in all, this book had highlights and low moments, very sweet pining with Hunter falling first and it was really sweet to engage with his side of things the most.
Lastly, I’ll say that overall this was a good audiobook. The author definitely injected emotion and hurt/excitement to the characters’ voices where appropriate, but the hardest part about this audiobook was that there would be multiple character/POV jumps in the same chapter and it would be hard to recognize that from the audio until a different name was said. Chapters had very clear divisions, however. I liked the audiobook just as much as I think I’d have liked reading it on my own!!!
Thank you NetGalley for this ARC!!

I really wanted to like this more. I liked the redemption trope and Britt’s mental health/social anxiety representation. The romance with Hunter was sweet and even though I saw the collision of all the secrets coming, I liked how that played out as well. However, the drama at the end was too over the top for me. There was so much miscommunication, false assumptions and just lengthy grudge-holding that drove me nuts for the last 25% of the book. I did like how the ending came together and that we really get 4 points of view but the undue drama made this one just okay for me.

Title: So Into You
Author: Kathleen Fuller
Format: 🎧
Narrator: Melissa Moran
Publisher: Harper Collins Christian Publishing –Thomas Nelson Fiction
Genre: Christian Romance
Pub Date: December 3, 2024
My Rating: 4,2 Stars
Pages: 336

Although I am a big thriller fan I do like a sweet romance full of anticipation of hope and love.
I did laugh at some of the reviews from readers stating saying it was predictable – my comment
”I sure hope so- as I certainly don’t want to read a romance where they end up hating each other or worse!

Story is based in the Dallas suburbs and features twenty-eight year old Brittany ‘Brit’ Branch and thirty year-old Hunter Pickett- both have issues and are trying to keep them a secret.

Brit has such anxiety it prevents her from doing anything in public.
She lives at home with her divorced mother Amy-who is a high school math teacher. Her parents have been divorced for twenty years and Brit has no contact from her father. (well not until now and isn’t ready to tell her mother.)
Brit has a successful YouTube channel she started eight years ago. Viewers love her art techniques. And would love to attend an in-person demonstration however Brit does not do in-person appearances due to her anxiety issues.

Hunter’s issue is that he is recovering alcoholic. He has spent his life being lazy and got getting away with things by his good looks; although his family is very wealthy they have banned him. due to his bad behavior. He is very bright but always does minimal very effort into school work and got kick out of school so he did not earn an high school diploma but did earned a GED, He works nights in a warehouse, and shares an apartment with a friend.

One evening Hunter viewed Brit’s channel by accident and found it interesting so contacted her so contacted her. The continued to communicate and developed a friendship.
Brit is attracted to Hunter but finds it hard to believe a good looking guy like Hunter could be interested in someone like her.
Aww so it begins.
We learn more about both families and there is a lot of misunderstanding by everyone!!!

Audiobook narrator Melissa Moran’s pleasant voice and her performance of the characters make this an enjoyable story!

Want to thank NetGalley and Harper Collins Publishing- Thomas Nelson Fiction for this enjoyable audiobook.
Publishing Release Date scheduled for December 3, 2024.

"So Into You" is a book about romantic relationships, second chances, family relationships and has EXCELLENT mental health rep!! I did not expect this to be a 5-star read, but it was! I listened to it on audio and loved the narration too. There are many characters in this book but the author does an excellent job of developing them so it's easy to keep track and fall in love with all of them. This book is also 100% clean so you can recommend this to a friend, family member or your teenage daughter. *I received a complimentary audio ARC from the author/publishing company via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts & opinions are my own.

Well written love how the characters were intertwined. LOVED Maude! Narrator did a great job, first time hearing her narrate.

I feel like with so many pov’s I couldn’t find myself to care about the main characters. They were both meh and couldn’t maintain my attention and found myself zoning out often

The synopsis was misleading in not mentioning that Britt's parents would also get their own POVs even though a large chunk of the story involved them. I wasn't really invested in their story or even with them as individuals.

I also didn't like how they would sometimes treat Britt like a child. Despite her anxiety disorder, it was a bit much. Then again, she sometimes read like a teenager and not twenty eight. Hunter should've encouraged her to go to therapy instead of being a sort of crutch. A pointer or two on confidence could only do so much.

It was a bit confusing to have one narrator for all four POVs but she did a satisfactory job regardless. It kept me going when I lost interest in the story. I did love that there was a theme of redemption for the two men who had made a mess of life years before.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

So Into You is a good clean read! I loved the character development for all of the characters featured in the book as well as how intertwined all of the characters were.

The beginning was a bit slow for me, but as it picked up, I couldn’t put the book down! Highly recommend!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the advanced copy.

The good: This book is full of a cast of characters that each have their own storyline that intertwines with the main protagonist. This keeps the pace flowing quickly, making it a fast, easy listen. Additionally the narrator is enjoyable to listen to.

The in-between: The book holds a lot of drama. The number of things going on with the characters was a bit overwhelming. This also made the book feel unrealistic at times as many of the characters had the same challenges.

The bad: I absolutely could not stand the mother in this book. She was far too much, I didn't want to hear her parts of the story.

Overall, it was a good book that simply had enough it it not to be great for me. I appreciated the narrator being easy to listen to as I feel a narrator can make or break an audiobook.

So, this is a classic case of me not fully reading the whole description and looking into what the author is known for before requesting and ARC. I am certainly not the target audience for this book. I would call it "wholesome" but I don't actually feel that way....the MMC was an absolute vapid, piece of garbage tool, and the FMC was a quivering whiny pick me submissive girl who, despite being a talented artist, youtuber, and beautiful girl-apparently has too much social anxiety to exist? Normally, I love a multi-perspective story-this was....a mess. The characters were all shallow, and they all felt like hollow personifications.

Not trying to yuck someone's yum-but I truly regret wasting my time finishing this one. I wish I had DNF'd it, but I kept hoping for a redemption somewhere. It's all good - they can't all be bangers, and again - it is just not my cup of tea (or any variety of beverage for that matter).

Huge thank you to NetGalley and Harper Collins Christian Publishing for access to this Advance copy in exchange for my honest (sorry, lol) review.

If I hadn't been reviewing this book for NetGalley I would have DNF'd it for sure!

There are 4 narrators and the book flips between them without any notice. You have to figure out who the narrator is from the first few sentences as the scene quickly changes to something completely different. All 4 narrators are super annoying and frustrating, too. The whole book is driven by the characters keeping a bunch of secrets that really DO NOT need to be secrets!! Only one of the "secrets" is really excusable as a thing to wait to share.

The book is set in the DFW area but you wouldn't know it is set in a big city because only about 6 people live in this town, apparently. Every character is overly connected to every other character, just for the contrived drama of all ending up at the same party and having all of their "secrets" revealed at once in the worst way possible.

I spent over half the book rolling my eyes and waiting for it to be over.

Also a thing to note, its definitely Christian fiction.

To start, this narrator for this audiobook did a good job but it could benefit from a male narrator as well. There is also four different povs and only one narrator which gets very confusing throughout. The story is sweet and follows a mom and a daughter and their love interests. Britt is an artist with a YouTube channel.who has social anxiety and Hunter is a former delinquent who has started watching Britts channel and finds them soothing. They meet and Britt starts giving him art lessons while they start to fall for each other. Britts mom Amy has been divorced for 20 years and her father Daniel drives cars and is a recovering alcoholic. I wish this book followed one story instead of both. It made the story confusing
It also didn't seem that Britt was in her late 20s she seemed very immature.

I have listened to some great romcoms lately. The latest was So Into You by Kathleen Fuller. I loved it!

***Five Stars***

A FMC with social anxiety and a MMC in recovery? Yep, this was a good one! I loved how this story all came together. The build up to that party was...UGH!!!! You knew it was coming but you just had to hold on and get there. I loved all the representations in this book. It's listed as a Christian book but I don't honestly see it, it's definitely a closed door romance with zero spice but I didn't get the Christian aspect of it. Just in case that's what would turn you off from this book, don't let it.

Thank you to NetGalley, HarperCollins Christian Publishing, and the author for the opportunity to listen to and review this story.

Melissa Moran was the perfect choice of narration for this book. She has a nice voice & kept pace of the story perfectly.
Kathleen Fuller does it again!! Who knew that one of my favorite Amish Fiction authors could cross over into contemporary romance flawlessly?? I'm here for it.
Social Anxiety. I have it -- but nowhere near the level of Britt's. Finding a partner who can not only can help you through your hardships, but that is willing to stand by your side through it, is a remarkable feeling.
I have already recommended this book to others -- I know they will love it as much as I had!

I didn’t realize this was a Christian publishing book when I requested it. That part is absolutely not my jam. The book itself had a fairly typical romance book timeline. It’s ridiculously pg-13 and somewhat degrading to women. Second part is par for the course for many romance novels so didn’t bug me too much. Cute, “wholesome” story for the most part.

Thank you to HarperCollins Christian Publishing | Thomas Nelson Fiction for the gifted audiobook!

Okay, but this book was actually so adorable!!

I flew through this in a 24 hour period and just couldn't put it down!

I loved the mother/daughter dynamic and how they were each dealing with their own heavy life issues but also maybe a little bit of romance on the side. I thought the romance was sweet, believable and totally tender! There were great themes of second chances and redemption here and it was all done so delicately and realistically.

Overall, a super sweet and happy book with some true depth to it as well. I think this will be a hit for sweet romance lovers for sure!

So Into You was the second book I have read written by Kathleen Fuller. It was a fast-paced book that really caught me up in the story.

The character development was okay. It was interesting watching Britt work through her anxiety issues and how the past played into that. I would have liked a little bit more character development. It left me desiring more.

The storyline and setting were fun. Though the storyline was a little bit predictable. As soon as they started keeping secrets, I know it was all going to blow up in their faces. This would make a great hallmark movie.

The relationship was cute, though boarding on the side of too much for my liking.

The faith element was good. Though I would have liked a little bit more.
