Thank you, St. Martin's Press, Minotaur Books for providing the copy of Party of Liars by Kelsey Cox. This book started out great after the ‘prologue’, which was weird and didn’t get me interested in reading the rest of the book. I liked reading about the outrageous party, and the characters were all well-written. There were so many POVs I couldn’t always keep track of whose POV I was reading. I think it was to throw suspicion on everyone! Knowing someone had fallen, but not knowing who until the end, made sense, but didn’t endear me to the story. If you love a surprise reveal, this is the book for you, but I started to lose interest as the book went on, and tried to direct the blame for things on supernatural happenings. Most of the book was interesting, though. 3.5 stars rounded up to 4.

This was a twisty, psychological thriller that is reminiscent of Liane Moriarty's 'Big Little Lies'. The story takes place over one afternoon & evening at a party. It's told from multiple POVs throughout the night with a few flash forwards to the aftermath. You get everyone's feelings, memories & reactions as the story progresses but you're never quite sure who is doing what to whom & who the dead body belongs to. A good beach read for those not into romance for the summer.

Everything is bigger in Texas, especially the drama!
A deep dive on family dynamics and boy are these folks messy. Very twisty and full of secrets, this one is quite the ride.
Kelsey Cox delivers some juicy characterization, balanced pacing and vivid descriptions in this locked-room mystery, Texas-style.
Thank you to Atria for gifting me a copy. It is my pleasure to write an honest review.

MIND. BLOWN. This book was SO good and left me constantly questioning who was good and who was bad. Mostly, I loved how a mother’s love was a common theme throughout. How far will a mother go to protect their child? Keep them safe? Avenge their pain? I was close to tears at the end.
I enjoyed the many different viewpoints and the back and forth timelines, as well. It was so well written and everything I love in a thriller, plus much more.

I thoroughly enjoyed Party of Liars! Kelsey Cox does an excellent job weaving suspense, drama, and emotional depth into a fast-paced plot. The characters felt real and complex, especially as the secrets began to unravel. I was hooked from the beginning, and the twists kept me guessing until the very end. If you enjoy a good mix of mystery and interpersonal tension, this book is definitely worth a read.
Thank you NetGalley for the E-Arc in exchange for my honest review!

Wow, this one threw me for a loop!! This story is told from many different characters points of view, and all have secrets they want to hide. It is a well spun thriller that keeps you flipping the pages.
Thank you to Net Galley and St Martin's Press for allowing me to read this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an advance readers copy of Party of Liars by Kelsey Cox.
Wow! This book is amazing! Multiple points of view and short chapters are my fav because they keep you wanting to read just one more. I never expected this book to go where it did, but it was oh so satisfying. I cannot wait to read what she writes next.

The book is centred around Sophie Matthews' lavish sweet sixteen party at her father, Ethan and stepmother Dani's mansion in Texas. It’s a murder mystery but from the very beginning the concept of the mansion being haunted due to way back history. Just never did it for me. None of the twists really caught me off guard. I’m a big thriller reader and feel this one just followed a step by step blue print.
Not really a horrible book at all as the writing is fine, but for me it was just not my kind of book.

From the publisher, "A lavish, Texas-sized Sweet Sixteen turns deadly in this twisty, pulse-pounding new novel — serving up a fresh take on a classic locked-room whodunnit."
This quick description is totally accurate. Overall, this was such an entertaining book! I really enjoyed this debut thriller told in multiple POV's with quick chapters, which made it an easy and quick read that I couldn't get through fast enough. The best part was that it had me guessing over and over again...and not just about the ending, but so many other juicy things that could potentially be going on at once. It was such an enjoyable, wild ride!
I would absolutely read another book by this author, and look forward to seeing what she writes in the future.

This was a fantastic book. I really enjoyed every second I spent reading it. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this ARC!

Thank you so much to Kelsey Cox and St. Martin's Press | Minotaur Books for the eARC of this book! It was a satisfying page turner with a great pace that keeps you hooked. It's a great thriller with multiple POVs!

A Party of Liars takes us to a sweet-sixteen party of a well-off daughter whose parent's are divorced. There is a fascinating tightening of tension as we see the party through the eyes of multiple characters. Nothing is what it seems in the beginning. Between the first wife and the second, the nanny and the two sixteen year old girls, I couldn't put it down. Excellent! I received this book through Net Galley and have left an honest review.

Everyone is invited in. Not everyone will get out alive.
It is a big day for Sophia Matthews. It’s her sixteenth birthday, and her rich daddy, Ethan, is throwing a huge party in celebration of this special day at his huge, supposedly haunted mansion.
It’s killer guest list includes . . .
Dani: Sophie’s new stepmother who’s been plagued by self-doubt ever since the birth of her own baby girl
Órlaith: the superstitious Irish nanny who senses a looming danger in this cavernous house
Mikayla: the birthday girl’s best friend who is not nearly as meek as the popular kids assume
Kim: the cunning ex-wife who has a grudge she can’t let go of .
The story is told from five different points of view: Ethan, Dani, Órlaith, Mikayla, and Kim. And the chapters are short.
This book is advertised as a psychological suspense thriller. The psychological part I can see. By the end of the book, you know all there is to know about each character. And they all have lots of secrets.
Suspense? Yes, there are some suspenseful parts, but it is way more psychological.
Thriller? Close to the end, it does get thrilling to where you don’t want to put the book down but not until then.
The book is very well-written, but I kept waiting and expecting someone to get killed, and no one did until close to the end. That was a bit of a disappointment. By then, I knew who was going to meet their maker and who committed the crime. So I was not thrilled at all with this book, but there are plenty of readers who were. Like I said, it is very well-written, or I wouldn’t have kept reading it. This review is, of course, just my opinion.

This is the thriller I have been looking for. This is gloriously set in an opulent house that has a tragic history and is considered haunted. There is a cast of characters who are steadily revealed. The main event is at an ostentatious Sweet Sixteen birthday party.
This is a satisfying page turner that brilliantly and steadily unfolds through multiple viewpoints. This was such an enjoyable read.
I received an ARC from the publisher in exchange for an unbiased review.

I've been on a thriller kick lately so I was excited to listen to this one- locked room mystery, multiple POV, it all seemed great! I'll be honest, I stopped listening at around 40% and debated whether I should continue. There were some parts that were just creepy and not for me. I'm sure other people will absolutely love the haunted aspects but truly I regret not checking trigger warnings ahead of time. I don't think I've ever DNF'd a book because of triggers or upsetting content, but I guess this one just struck a chord with sensitive topics. Maybe I'll revisit it closer to its release date but for now I had to pause and put it aside. Not for me but I'm sure many will love it!

This one started out so strong, hooked me from page one…brilliant charactertzation, interesting concepts, tense, messy, convincing red herrings...
and then we meandered a bit, too much time spent with characters that didn’t add anything, a lot of repetition, confusing themes, and a bit of a rushed ending. The middle was hard to get through; I wanted to skim and felt we spent a lot of time on past events and people that added nothing to the story. 40 pages fewer could have worked for me. Also was not totally convinced of our main villain's motives or story, and the brief time we spent with them wasn't enough to sell it. We spent too much time with the teens, and I cannot for the life of me figure out why.
The last few pages redeemed a lot for me, but I felt a bit cheated by the time we wasted, especially balancing 4 POVs and compressing so much in 1 day, aside from the splashes of backstory.
3.5 stars, rounded up because the characterization and red herrings really did something for me.
An overall great debut. Excited to see what the author does next!
Thank you so much to St. Martin’s Press and Macmillan for this ARC e-galley.

3.75 stars.
The mystery part was well done, you just wanted to keep reading to find out what was going to happen to who. You won't connect to each character but you will be engrossed in their lives. I really enjoyed all the different ladies POV's and the then and now chapters. I did want more of what I thought was going to be a bit of a supernatural theme and learn more about The Mother, it would be a great premise for a book 2! Overall a good, fast paced read.
Thank you to St Martin’s Press, Minotaur Books and Kelsey Cox for access to the e-arc in exchange for an honest review.

I almost gave up on this book at 40% in. I found it to be slow-moving with a lot of details. However, I wanted to get to the conclusion, so I kept reading. This was not my favorite read and I did not appreciate some of the content.

This book is like Pretty Little Liars meets a haunted episode of Gossip Girl, and I was hooked. Party of Liars kicks off with Sophie’s insanely over-the-top Sweet Sixteen in a Texas mansion that practically begs for something to go wrong. And of course, something does. A body crashes onto the dance floor, turning the glitzy night into a murder scene.
The book is a classic locked-room mystery, but what makes it stand out are the messy, complicated women at the center of it. Dani, the overwhelmed new stepmom, is barely holding it together and convinced something (or someone) is watching her. And Kim, Sophie’s ex-wife mom, is an emotional grenade, bitter, boozy, and unpredictable.
Cox builds tension so well, with flashbacks that slowly unravel the truth. I guessed the ending wrong (multiple times), which is always a win. Definitely recommend for fans of juicy, character-driven thrillers.

This was quite the story! A little romance, a lot of mystery and a lot of crazy! Each main character does first-person narration. Unfortunately, a lot of incidents in this story are probably too close to reality. The farther I got in this book, the more I didn’t want to put it down. I received a complimentary copy of this book and the opinions are my own.
