DNF.

This was so slow I was losing my ability to live, and the writing was questionable. I think as a movie this would do great, but as a book it just wasn’t right.

It was pretty funny from what I could get out of it; I’ll say that, but nothing else was remarkable enough for me to want to finish.

NO hate to the author! This just wasn’t the right read for me.

The Sister Swap is a cozy, uplifting story with emotional resonance and just enough whimsy. It’s a lovely 4‑star read for fans of contemporary women’s fiction that warms the heart—even if it doesn’t break new ground.

⭐⭐⭐⭐
Perfect if you enjoy character-driven stories about family ties, personal growth, and the gentle magic of new perspectives.

Another brilliant book from Charlotte Butterfield. Jam packed with humour, real life relatable sibling rivalry, all wrapped up in a gripping and heartwarming plot. Can’t wait for the next one!

What a fun premise! I really enjoyed the story and the family dynamics. The writing was entertaining, and characters were likable.

Having 2 sisters I was excited to read this book all about sister rivalry and bond. I enjoyed having the sisters switch their vastly different lives and see what they are going through. The book did feel slow at times while reading and I felt the ending lacked a little. Overall I enjoyed the book.

Loved this, reminded me of the parent trap which is one of my comfort films and it was just so much fun reading, the pacing was great and the characters were so enjoyable to read!!

This book was such a fun, feel-good ride! The Sister Switch is basically Freaky Friday meets morning talk show drama. Alice and Edie are twin sisters and TV co-hosts who can’t stop clashing—on air and off. After a blow-up fight, they secretly swap lives to prove a point… and things unravel in the best possible way.

I loved how the story balanced laugh-out-loud moments with some surprisingly heartfelt ones. Each sister learns that the other’s life isn’t as easy as it looks—and watching them fumble, grow, and even start to understand each other was really satisfying.

Perfect if you love sister dynamics, messy personal growth, and a touch of chaos with your heartwarming endings.

A decent read to keep the reader interested. The story was not without fault and honestly Edie and Alice did overstep into each others lives. Lots of lying, deceit, and selfishness. I felt bad for their families. The ending didn’t work well for me as a reader.

"The Sister Switch" is a fun and heartwarming story about identical twins, Alice and Edie, who are very different from each other. They decide to switch places to see what it's like to live each other's lives, leading to lots of funny and touching moments. While the sisters argue a bit too much at first, the story quickly becomes engaging as they learn and grow. The book does a great job showing how families can change and understand each other better. It's a light and enjoyable read, perfect for anyone looking for a feel-good story.

I enjoyed the family dynamics. Sibling love can sure be a challenge! I do think some of the bickering between the two got to be a bit much right away, but overall I enjoyed this book.

As a twin, I couldn’t wait to read this. People always assume twins are exactly the same, but The Sister Switch really shows how different sisters can be. Alice and Edie are identical twins with completely different personalities. Their relationship is full of tension, love, and misunderstandings, and the story captures that so well. I loved the humor, the chaos, and the heartfelt moments. It’s a fun and uplifting read that really made me think about how we see ourselves and each other.

Sisters Alice and Edie may be identical twins, but their lives and personalities couldn’t be more different. Each sister thinks the other couldn’t last a day in her shoes, and after one too many fights, they decide to test that theory by switching places.

I absolutely loved this one! It was the cutest, most fun filled, general fiction book I’ve read in a long time! I absolutely flew through it, devouring it in about two days.

I was a little concerned about the sisters switching places and how that would work with their spouses; I thought things might get too weird. But the author handled it in such a smooth yet silly way!

This made me think of my own sister, especially because Edie reminded me so much of myself and Britt is a strong Alice (but maybe not quite as iron fisted. Except for the shoes in her house. She will kill you. That part is accurate). So that definitely added a fun twist for me!

Overall I would absolutely recommend this one! It may be a general fiction book, but some parts did make me feel a little tense and anxious wondering if they would be found out 😂 an easy 5 stars from me!

Thank you so much to NetGalley for this ARC!

This is definitely a summer read. Two adult twins can't agree with each other and never could. They think differently, they run their homes differently, and treat their families differently. They are in danger of losing their job because of their constant bickering and switch places to try to see each other's views. This was not well thought out on their part so there are some amusing moments. At times the book seemed repetitious but I still will give it 4 stars, rounding up from 3 1/2. Thank you to NetGalley and Avon for the complementary digital ARC. This review is my own opinion.

My third book by this author, and so far they have all got 5 stars from me! This was a fun read with plenty of laugh out loud moments, but also had lots of lessons that were learnt. The two main characters are twins, Alice and Edie. Whilst they look the same, they couldn't be more different. Alice likes her routines, looks after her husband and children's every needs and there isn't a thing out of place both in her home and her life. Edie is the complete opposite and lives her life flying by the seat of her pants. Nothing is organised, everything is done on impulse and she has no rules for herself or her family. As they grow further apart they decide to switch lives to see how the other one lives...

I really enjoyed this book! I like both Alice and Edie and whilst both have flaws in their characters, they also both have lots of redeeming qualities. However initially I did lean more towards Edie's life with it's chaos and lack of planning and organisation and did think she seemed to be the more "fun" twin!! I loved it when they switch lives though and I was hooked into the storyline by this point. Whilst in real life you would like to think their families (especially their partners) would have realised they weren't the right twin, it was fun to watch them try to keep their secret from everyone.

The storyline is told from both character's perspectives and it flowed along really well. There were lots of fun moments throughout the book, but it was interesting to watch Alice and Edie change, grow and accept each other. Even if you don't like them both at the beginning, you'll certainly warm to them both by the end. It was also interesting to watch the supporting characters (husbands and children) change as the storyline moves on. There are certainly lots of things learnt by all the characters throughout. It was a lovely, warm, lighthearted read which I thoroughly enjoyed and will look forward to reading many more by this author.

I feel like I'm the odd one out when it comes to this book and I'm absolutely gutted. I really loved the sound of this one but just couldn't get on with the characters sadly!

Is the premise of adult twins being able to swap lives and nobody noticing a bit far fetched? Yes, absolutely, but it didn’t stop me from really enjoying this book. It makes you realise that you can’t judge someone else’s life because you really don’t know what it’s like behind closed doors. I liked that the sisters were able to change their opinions about each other and learn from their experiences. A good bit of lighthearted fun.

I read this book as an advanced reader copy through NetGalley. It was a cute read about two twin sisters who have a bet and switch lives for a little while. They learn so many lessons along the course of time they are living each other’s lives . It’s a must read for anyone with a sister!

The premise for this book is that identical twin sisters change places to discover more about each other and learn to like each other again (they'll always love the other, but liking has proved difficult lately). Alice has a perfect life, but works hard at it - making her own food, running around after husband and children so they do nothing, keeping down a job, maintaining her high Instagram following. Its exhausting. Edie flits through life, taking it as it comes, having fun, with a lovely partner Seb, but they struggle financially.

What happens when they switch and see the realities of the other twin's life is most interesting. While (as the sister of identicals) I don't believe no-one saw through the switch since no twins are absolutely identical (well, one person did twig it) it was an interesting experiment. And when each stop just observing and start interfering to improve the other's life, it becomes very complex.

I liked the family dynamic and the switching, which easily could have descended into farce, was handled well. Overall a great summer read. Thank you to NetGalley and Avon Books UK for allowing me access to the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I'm married to an identical twin so I was very intrigued by the premise of this book.

Alice & Edie may be identical twins, but of course, they're nothing alike. The idea to switch lives to see how the other lives is interesting as a kid but just can't be done as adults. Especially as they're both in long term relationships.

It doesn't make sense that they did it, and for so long. 10 days and the significant others didn't figure it out? Sure, they noticed things were different, but c'mon.

I did enjoy the book, and I loved how the sisters came together in the end. I just found the plot completely ridiculous.

Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Thank you to Avon Books UK, Charlotte Butterfield and NetGalley for allowing me to read an ARC of The Sister Switch.

I really enjoyed this book. Alice and Edie are so relatable to anyone who has siblings (even more so this with sisters). I loved how they began to understand each other after stepping into their shoes, and Seb and Dad were really lovely additions to the story.
