Zoomi and Zoe are both welcoming a new sibling, and both are equally excited and frustrated. I thought the emotions were well decribed and easy for kids to identify with their own experiences. Zoe having to explain so many things to the monsters and they to her is a wonderful tool to increase vocabulary and descriptive language in the book. I didn't really enjoy all the faciful names, as it stops the flow of my reading, but using so many made up names is a great way to make kids use their phonics skills on words they have never seen. The resolution is satisfying, and the characters are fun and funny.

Zoomi and Zoe and the Sibling Situation by Corey Ann Haydu continues the story of Zoomi and Zoe, but this time they each are expecting a new sibling. When the new babies don't seem to really care about the older siblings, they decide to open Baby School. Of course that doesn't go as planned but in the process the two learn a lot about being older siblings. Again, this is a well illustrated book with a good story for the younger readers.

This was a cute book overall. The names are very similar though and most of the words in the book started to get confusing because of how similar they were. This might be difficult for a dyslexic reader or a child who had trouble focusing. Otherwise the story was very cute as Zoe and Zoomi learn how babies are different and the same.

a cute story about being a big sister. This series is full of whimsy and fun. The creatures and made up words are reminiscent of those found in the Dr. Seuss books.

I received an electronic ARC from Quirk Books through NetGalley.
The two friends are back for another first adventure. Both become big sisters but struggle with the new babies in their lives. Neither does what they expect. When they decide to hold a baby school to teach them what they want them to learn, it does not go smoothly. However, the outcome is wise as Zoomi and Zoe learn more about their little siblings. Readers will connect with the characters' feelings as they navigate a new situation.

My six and four year old happily reviewed this book for me:
My six year old, who reads at a second grade level found this book fun and simple to read. It was perfect for her current reading level and she felt so grown up reading a chapter book! The illustrations were so inviting, the characters silly, and she’s now on the hunt to find the first Zoomi and Zoe. Five stars from her!
My four year old enjoyed the story and found Zoomi so so charming. Both of them are older siblings so it was nice to see a book that highlighted the struggle of bringing home a new baby. I loved the representation (Zoe having two dads, one of the magical creatures is addressed by “they”) and the sweet, harmless story of bringing home a baby.
Absolutely would buy this book for anyone that has a beginning reader, a lover of books (and babies)!
