Second Chance at Sunshine Inn is a cozy, heartwarming small-town romance that blends love, loss, and second chances in the most charming way. With a picturesque coastal inn as the backdrop, Amy Clipston delivers a sweet, no-spice love story filled with emotional depth and endearing characters.
Everleigh Hartnett, a free-spirited NICU nurse, is used to moving from place to place—never settling, never staying. But when she inherits half of the Sunshine Inn from her beloved godmother, her plans for a quick sale are complicated by Cade Witherspoon, the rugged, brooding handyman who has made the inn his home. Cade has no intention of letting go of the only place that has ever given him stability, even if it means going head-to-head with Everleigh.
Everleigh is all sunshine, while Cade is pure grump, and their chemistry crackles from the start. The forced partnership forces them to navigate their differences, each seeing the world—and their futures—in a new light. As they clash over the fate of the inn, their reluctant partnership slowly shifts into something neither of them expected.
Beyond the romance, the novel beautifully explores themes of grief, healing, and family. Everleigh’s dream of starting a nonprofit to support NICU families adds layers to her character, while Cade’s unexpected reunion with a long-lost brother deepens his story. Their journeys feel authentic, full of tender moments and real struggles that make their emotional growth all the more satisfying.
With its scenic setting, lovable side characters, and feel-good charm, Second Chance at Sunshine Inn is a must-read for fans of slow-burn, grumpy/sunshine romance. It’s a story about love, community, and finding home in the most unexpected places.

This book was a lighthearted and enjoyable read, perfect for when you just want to relax and be present in the moment. The storytelling was engaging, with a fun and easygoing tone that made it a pleasure to pick up. It didn’t demand deep analysis but instead offered a refreshing escape, making it a great choice for a stress-free reading experience. If you’re looking for something fun and uplifting, this is definitely worth reading!

This book started off strong and I was excited to see what was going to happen to the inn and the characters but about 50% through, it started to drag. Then the last 20% there was family drama that felt overplayed. The characters lacked depth and it felt like a Hallmark movie to me.

Everleigh Hartnett and Cade Witherspoon have found themselves at an impasse, they have just discovered that they are co-owners of a beautiful seaside bed-and-breakfast. Everleigh wants to sell the bed-and-breakfast to fund a nonprofit she's always dreamed of opening, while Cade has no intentions of changing anything. It supposed to be his new start and his new enemy is determined to wreck it... unless he can change her mind!
Second Chance at Sunshine Inn is a delightfully penned opposites attract romance that'll touch your heart. When Everleigh learns that her godmother left her half ownership of her bed-and-breakfast she thinks it will be the opportunity she's longed for. But her plan hits a little hitch when she meets the other owner, Cade has no intentions of letting the bed-and-breakfast go, it's the new beginning he needs... which creates a bit of a battle between them. It was a battle I very much enjoyed watching unfold!
If you like small town romances than I am certain you will love what you find waiting for you between the pages here, it's words are captivating and heartfelt and it's characters will steal your heart!
I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher, via NetGalley request, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased opinion.

Everleigh and Cade have each overcome obstacles in their lives, leaving them with trust issues and some scars. When a woman, Alana, whom they both loved and treasured leaves them each half of the Inn she owed and ran, they must learn to work together to forge a partnership. But each of them has a different idea of why Alana let them the Inn and what they should do with it.
Lots of ups and downs, a range of emotions, and great characters trying to find their way. I loved this story and while predictable, was an absolute pleasure to read. Highly recommend for those looking for a story of love, loss, hope, and starting over.
I received an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Second Chance at Sunshine Inn is basically like reading a Hallmark movie. The characters are ok but I had a hard time relating to them and the animosity towards each other got a little annoying. It was written well but I felt like at times it drug and could probably been written with fewer words. Overall it's fine but nothing spectacular. An easy and light read.

Sadly this book was not for me. I found the writing bland and repetitive, making it difficult to read. I also thought the MFC was so immature and childish, I just couldn't connect with her as a reader.

I really like the story. It got a little frustrating that the communication between Everleigh and Cade wasn’t great. She should have shown him the plans in the beginning. I love a good love story and a happy ending and this definitely delivered both!

I really liked this story. It was a fun and enjoyable read. It definitely held my attention with the questioning characters as to what Trevor and Harlowe were up to. I am glad the ending wrapped all that up and there was closure.

Second Chance @Sunshine Inn @Coral Cove by Amy Clipston is one of her Contemporary romances. Everleigh is a traveling NICU nurse and has come back to the small town of Coral Cove and inherits half of her Godmother’s Inn. The second half was inherited by Cade, who took care of her godmother when she was dying. He was also the handyman and chef. Cade is grumpy and looking for a second chance to start his life over after he has lost everything. Everleigh with her smiles, optimism and sunny disposition tend to clash with Cade. I was a little frustrated with Everleigh’s not hearing Cade when he told her what he and her godmother’s plans for the Inn were. She had her own plans for starting a non profit that her godmother and her talked about. So she wants to sell and he wants to keep it. Full of small town charm, family issues, and opposites attract. Can they make each of their wishes come true? Snuggle up and read away. Thank you to #NetGalley, # Thomas Nelson Fiction and the author #Amy Clipston for this arc audio. This is my honest review. #secondchanceatsunshineinn Release date is July 8

Second Chance at Sunshine Inn, by Amy Clipston, opens with Everleigh McFadden learning, at the reading of her godmother, Alana’s will, that she is a fifty-percent owner of her bed-and-breakfast. Cade Witherson, her partner in this inn, had made a promise to Alana to keep everything running. However, once Everleigh arrives on the scene, he realizes this with be no easy task!
Everleigh is more focused on selling the inn to move the funds toward a neonatal non-profit than maintaining Alana’s dream. It is interesting to watch what happens in the midst of this conflict. Cade suddenly is contacted by his half-brother. His mother had never told anyone about this secret from her past. This new reality will forever change Cade’s life!
You wonder how Everleigh and Cade will finally handle, not only their joint ownership of the inn, but also their growing feelings for each other!

One of favorites are second chance stories. They always keep me guessing about Cade and Eleveigh 's relationship through the book. The couple was totally different from each other. Toward the end they made great couple to me and I believe that they were completely each other. I was shocked that her godmother was trying play matchmaker. Finally the book developed creative and beautiful. I enjoyed it. I received a complimentary copy of this book . Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

This may be my favorite of Amy’s books so far. I enjoyed the setting and all the dynamics between, not only the main characters, but also their families. It was a sweet story with lots of heartache and lots of healing. The setting was also great. And really, who doesn’t want to own a beautiful yellow inn on the ocean!

Sweet, wholesome and relaxing. Second Chance at Sunshine Inn was a pure delight to read.
Everleigh is a travelling NICU nurse who returns home after the death of her Godmother Alana. Everleigh attends the reading of her Godmothers will. Enter Cade Witherspoon. Who should the inn Alana owned be left to, but both Everleigh and Cade, who have only just met at the lawyers office.
I loved all the characters, the small beach town of Coral Cove, the drama and clean romance. It's a tale as old as time, he's grumpy, she's full of sunshine - I wonder what will happen - that being said, I loved every minute of it and wouldn't have it any other way.
Finishing up the book, I felt like I had been on a holiday in the warm beachy sun, a sad juxtaposition to our current gloomy winter weather!
I will have to keep an eye out for more of Amy Clipston's books in the future!

Amy Clipston is one of my very favorite authors. I have read all of her books at this point, and I look forward to all of her new releases. She's primarily known for her Amish fiction (which I love), but for the last few years, she has been writing contemporary Christian/clean romances. This book had no faith content or Christian elements that I could find, but it was a clean read.
This book follows Cade and Everleigh, two very different people who have each inherited half of the Sunshine Inn after Everleigh's aunt who owned it left it to them in her will. Everleigh wants to sell the inn and Cade wants to keep it, so they clash at first.
This book was very much an "opposites attract" situation and definitely reminded me of a Hallmark movie. (I happen to love Hallmark movies, so that is totally a compliment.) Cade had major Tyler Hynes energy as well and even rode a motorcycle just like Tyler!

I don't want to get too spoilery, but both Everleigh and Cade are dealing with family issues and I liked seeing the two of them bond and open up to each other about them. Cade in particular has some trust issues and I liked that Everleigh brought him out of his shell a bit.
I loved the setting of this book! It is set in the same charming North Carolina town as the other clean contemporary romances this author has written. I loved seeing the charm of the small town and of course the beach and coastal vibes.
Overall, I really enjoyed this one and I can't wait to see what this author will write next! You can be sure I will be reading it.
Also, Hallmark Channel needs to adapt this one - hopefully with Tyler!

Second Chance at Sunshine Inn

Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the ARC of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.
Welcome to the Sunshine Inn, a picturesque coastal inn with sweeping views and two new owners who couldn't be more opposite. From bestselling author Amy Clipston comes a no spice, grumpy/sunshine romance perfect for fans of Anne-Marie Meyer and RaeAnne Thayne.
Two polar opposites, one cozy inn--and one sweet and surprising chance at unlikely love.
Although it's part of the Christian fiction genre, it's there because of the author and because it's just a clean story. There isn't any scripture or God other than mentioning going to church. So don't expect any faith aspects.
This is an opposites-attract trope too.
The story was sweet but predictable and didn't hold my interest.

I wanted to like this book, I really really did. But there was just so much to not like.
The plot and idea of the story was such a good one, and I was so excited to read it, but sadly the book just really disappointed.
The writing was bland and receptive, making it difficult to read. And really, Quinn and Roger were more enjoyable to read about than the actual main characters. Everleigh was so immature and childish, and while Cade wasn’t so bad, he still wasn’t that much better. They kept going back over and over to the same old argument without ever working through it.
The book felt very hallmark-esque in the way that the whole book led to everything going wrong at once, only to run out of time and suddenly everything is wrapped up with a nice neat bow in the last 15 pages.
I’m so disappointed that I didn’t enjoy this one as much. It’s a great book to kill time with, but not much better than that.

Second Chance at Sunshine Inn is a well written romance. I throughly enjoyed the plot and the character dynamics. I highly recommend this book. I received an advance ebook from the publisher and Netgalley. This is my unbiased review.

I really enjoy Amy Clipston’s writing and this book did not disappoint. She has a way of describing places that make me feel like I am sitting in the plot observing the story on my own. The book is full of emotions from sad to frustrating to love. I enjoyed both main characters and how they struggled to find self-love and then love with one another.
Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to discover this book. All opinions are my own.

If you like Grumpy/Sunshine tropes that are clean, this is a great story for you.
When Everleigh inherits half of her godmother's inn, she immediately know what she wants to do with it. Her new partner has different ideas. This is a story about grief and grappling with the loss of someone important to you. It is about the many facets of relationships and how they change over time in ways you don't expect them to.
I enjoyed the happy ending and the story line but I didn't like the characters of the story much. Everleigh and Cade both seemed to be a bit immature and unable to cope with their feelings the way adults should. I was really hoping for a bit more faith to be sprinkled into the story since it is a Christian book. I feel like maybe that could have added a lot to the story.
Overall, it was a great light hearted read that was clean and interesting.
