Opposites in every way, Everleigh and Cade inherit and are now co-owners of the Sunshine Inn. They have to work together to decide what to do with the inn—reopen or sell—will they open their hearts and agree? Will they build something lasting together or will they leave it all behind?
Both Cade and Everleigh really struggled to communicate with each other, while it was frustrating at times and I just wanted to yell at them to sit down and have an honest conversation, I thought the author did a good job of showing how sometimes when you focus on a singular goal it is easy to forget how to just listen and communicate with others. I loved that Everleigh was the sunshine to Cade’s grumpiness. I truly enjoyed this romance and the trip to Coral Cove and the Sunshine Inn!
Overall, this was an enjoyable read with lovable characters and a heartfelt romance.
CW: This book does touch on loss of a family member, grief and healing from that grief.
Thank you to the publisher, author and NetGalley for the copy of this book. All thoughts are my own.

This was a super sweet story that felt like a Hallmark movie! the idyllic beach location added the coziest vibes to the book along with the inn! The romance was a slowburn and very sweet!
The only thing i didn’t like was the miscommunication between the main characters!

Traveling NICU nurse, Everleigh Hartnett is broken hearted to learn that her godmother, Alana has passed away. She can't understand why she hadn't been told she was ill. Meeting with her godmother's lawyer she is shocked to learn that she has inherited half of the Sunshine Inn. She wants to sell right away so she can start a charity that she and Alana had talked about. Cade Witherspoon has been actively running Sunshine Inn while caring for Alana. He has been bequeathed half of the inn and plans to follow the dear woman's request to keep it going.
And there lies the big problem for these two people.
I want to thank Thomas Nelson Publishing and NetGalley for my advanced e-copy of this book. This is my own unsolicited opinion of Amy Clipston's new book. I enjoyed the story. Everleigh is wholly focused on selling the inn while Cade hangs tightly to this special second chance to honor Alana while reaching his renewed goal in life. His last chance.
Cade is grumpy, unmoving in his stance, but he isn't financially able to just buy out the nurse. His trust level has been crushed in the past. Everleigh is portrayed as sunshine and sweetness but is so stubborn and focused on selling. They'd both have the funds to do what they want. The communication between the two is extremely poor. She is so focused she doesn't look to why he wants the inn to stay and improve. There's a little mystery here, a slow-growing romance and a whole lot of tension.
Two imperfect people who need to see the whole picture. I think this is a very good read for the summertime.

Second Chance at Sunshine Inn is a Christian romance for adults.
Everleigh and Alana, he godmother, had plans to put together "Helping Angels". But, now with Alana being put to rest would that dream ever come true?
Alana left her multi-million dollar B&B to Everleigh and Cade, a stranger to Everleigh. Everleigh wanted to sell the B&B but Cade didn't. Would they be able to work out their differences?
One of the last things Alana said to Cade was for him to find his sunshine and not close his heart forever. Cade was finished with love and relationships. Could Everleigh break through?

Second Chance at Sunshine Inn is a lovely story about finding second chances and love. When a beloved god-mother dies and leaves half of her property to Everleigh, she is shocked to find that she must share it with a man she had never even heard of before. What could her god-mother have been thinking? This is a delightful story of finding love through heartache where you least expect it. I give this story 5 stars. I received a complimentary review copy this book from the publisher and am writing this review voluntarily.

Second Chance at the Sunshine Inn by Amy Clipson is a kind of an enemies to lovers trope with lots of on-again/off-again in their friendship. Everleigh met him on the way into the lawyer’s office, not knowing who he was at the time. She was there for the reading of the will of her godmother and friend, Alana, who passed away from cancer without sharing that news with anyone. As it turns out she had left half of her bed and breakfast to Everleigh, and the remaining half to Cade Witherspoon, the man who had helped her with her luggage. Why? Who was he? She saw in this the opportunity to sell the property and start the non-profit she and Alana had been talking about for several years. Cade saw it as an opportunity to run the bead and breakfast he loved...to cook again!
As anyone can see, the plot has been set up for us now. Cade had been hurt, disappointed by love and by his partner in a restaurant, not the way you would think, though. Everleigh was a traveling NICU nurse and she loved it. She wanted to help families who didn’t have enough money to survive their child’s illness. She had a big heart and thought that this would be what Alana would have wanted when she left her half the inn. Cade made a deal with her that seemed to serve his interests. She agreed and they moved forward, off and on. Things came up with both of them and their families; the kinds of things that happen in many families. The plot was complex and entertaining. Lots of times when the readers wants to kick some butts. The pacing was good and it was an entertaining read, full of interesting characters and situations.

I enjoyed reading Second Chance at Sunshine Inn by Amy Clipston. You will fall in love with all the characters. I received an ARC of this book courtesy of NetGalley and the publisher. All opinions expressed in this review are my own and given freely. Happy Reading!

When Everleigh's beloved godmother dies and leaves her half-owner of her B&B, Sunshine Inn, Everleigh is convinced that it was so she could sell the B&B and use the money to start the non-profit they'd discussed. But she's only half-owner. The other owner is a stranger, Cade, who's been working at the inn for the last couple of years. And he's not only as grumpy as she is sunshiny, he's determined to keep the inn going, whatever Everleigh says. She soon decides to move into the inn and become part of his life, getting to know him and helping him get to know her - then eventually he'll see her point of view. But such a plan has dangers to her heart she never thought of - and he's determined to stay single. Can they work out what Alana's true plan for the inn was before the combination of the attraction between them and their opposing viewpoints break things irretrievably?
A delightful story of developing, long-denied love, coupled with family drama of various sorts and a beautiful beachy setting. Cade is the quintessential grump, but admittedly did have good reasons for it, between unpleasant past happenings and an uncertain future with a business partner he's attracted to but who wants to pull the rug from under his feet. On that note, I have to admit that I got a little frustrated by Everleigh's utter inability to see the logic that if Alana had wanted to sell the inn to fund the non-profit, she could have done so at any time, but I guess we all have blind spots - others' are just more obvious! :-) Fortunately, she eventually does sort of come to see reason, though even then I think it was more that her own desires changed than that she saw his point of view. Regardless, it's a fun but at times serious read, with a good mix of fun moments and meaningful conversations. Recommended.

Oh my goodness! If you love frenemies tension and slow burn, opposites attract, set in a small beach town… then you will love this one! This one had me feeling all different emotions and I was fully into this story as it played out so vividly in my mind. I wanted to stay at this inn and sit and read a book looking over the bay. This book has Sweet Home Alabama vibes between Cade and Everleigh and the small town and I’m here for it. 💕

Second Chance at Sunshine Inn was exactly what the title describes. They jointly inherit a b&b and have to work together to determine its future. Several twists and turns along the way lead to a picture perfect Hallmark type story. A little cheesy here and there, but thats what makes it delightful.

I loved this cozy, feel good romance so much! It was the perfect no spice, grumpy/sunshine story that followed Everleigh and Cade when they each inherited half of the Sunshine Inn. Everleigh and Cade and very opposite and keep butting heads about what to do with the Inn but agree to sell as long as it is not a developer. They are both struggling with personal things and help each other through those things but also keep getting under each others skin.
This heartfelt romance was so good and I love how Cade and Everleigh both wanted to honor Alana’s memory in their own way. Even though it took them a while to get there, the journey was important for both of them. The adoption storyline was interesting and I think it is hard to have opinions on that when you haven’t gone through it. I was adopted and have always had no interest in my birth parents, but I could see how some people do and how a birth mother would have a hard time if a child they gave up for adoption all of a sudden came back into their life. It is not as simple as Cade made it out to be.

2⭐️ Thank you to NetGalley and Thomas Nelson Fiction for an advanced copy of Second Chance At Sunshine Inn.
Everleigh has inherited the Sunshine Inn from her grandmother. She is eager to sell it but she finds out there is another owner, Cade. He has always been very loyal to the Inn and the two of them could not be more different if they tried. They cannot agree on anything when it comes to the Inn.
I could not stand the female main character. She was so selfish and entitled and truly insufferable. It made me unable to really get into the book because her character was so difficult to read about.

2 strangers, 1 common thread. Can they discover why they were brought together before it’s too late?
Everleigh, a traveling nurse, is brought back to her hometown after the passing of her godmother, Alana. Cade has been working for Everleigh’s godmother at the B&B she owns. He also helped care for her when she became sick. After Alana’s passing, Everleigh and Cade learn that they have each inherited half of the B&B. They also each believe they know what Alana would have wanted them to do with it. While Everleigh wants to sell, Cade wants to keep the B&B and grow the business. While working to determine the future of the B&B, Cade and Everleigh also face the challenge of determining the path each wants to take in their own future.
Second Chance at Sunshine Inn is a beautiful story that embraces grief, family, self-discovery, and finding love in the unlikeliest of places. This story will leave you feeling warm and cozy. Second Chance at Sunshine Inn could be a wonderful beach read or the perfect addition to a cozy fall evening.
Thank you so much Uplit Reads, Thomas Nelson, and Amy Clipston for the opportunity to review an advanced copy of Second Chance at Sunshine Inn.

Second Chance at Sunshine Inn is a sweet, light read perfect for fans of the grumpy/sunshine trope. The story follows Everleigh and Cade, who are brought together when they inherit an inn after the loss of someone they both loved.
The beach town setting and the addition of a charming cat named Bryant were delightful surprises. However, parts of the story fell flat for me. Both Everleigh and Cade are processing grief and personal challenges, but the emotional drama often felt overly exaggerated. Everleigh came across as unbelievably naïve, while Cade’s impulsiveness and moodiness made him hard to connect with. The added family drama also felt underdeveloped—more like an attempt to insert tension than something that naturally supported the plot.
That said, the romance was genuinely sweet, and this would be a solid pick for anyone looking for a lighthearted, low-stakes read.
Thank you to NetGalley and Thomas Nelson for the eARC!

I would like to thank Netgalley, Thomas Nelson Fiction and Amy Clipston for the E ARC of this book.
Everleigh comes back to the Sunshine Inn, which she has inherited form her beloved Godmother. There is a very big obstacle in her plans to sell the Inn, in the form of Cade Witherspoon who has also inherited the Inn. Everleigh wants to sell to start the non-profit, herself and her Godmother were planning, Cade wants to keep it and expand it as he and her Godmother planned.
They come up with a compromise, that Everleigh has until a certain date to sell the Inn to buyers who will take care of it and keep it running. If she can’t do so then it stays an Inn and Cade runs it. In the meantime there is work needing done to the Inn plus guests to look after. Can Everleigh and Cade learn to work together?
I love the descriptions of the Inn and its surroundings. Everleigh and Cade were very much opposites but they both say the good in each other. I liked their dynamic, also the way they cared about the Inn and those who came to stay. I liked learning more about both main characters back story and meeting Everleigh’s family and friends, as well as the people of the town. The plotline was well thought out and kept moving which I liked.
For me this was a departure from the other Amy Clipston books, as I normally read her Amish stories. I enjoyed this book and would recommend it.

I really enjoyed the beginning of this book—it pulled me in right away! Everleigh was a wonderful female lead: strong, relatable, and easy to root for. Her dynamic with Cade was especially fun to read, with their classic sunshine-and-grump pairing bringing both heart and humor to the story.
That said, I did find the middle of the book to be a bit slow in parts. There were moments where the pacing dragged, and I found myself putting it down and struggling a little to get back into it. However, I’m glad I stuck with it, because the ending tied everything together beautifully. It wrapped up with a sweet and satisfying conclusion that left me smiling.
Overall, this was an enjoyable read with lovable characters and a heartfelt romance.
Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with an ARC!

Second Chance at Sunshine Inn by Amy Clipston
A Sweet Contemporary
Welcome to the Sunshine Inn, a picturesque coastal inn with sweeping views and two new owners who couldn't be more opposite. From bestselling author Amy Clipston comes a no spice, grumpy/sunshine romance perfect for fans of Anne-Marie Meyer and RaeAnne Thayne.
Two polar opposites, one cozy inn--and one sweet and surprising chance at unlikely love.
When Everleigh Hartnett, a cheerful traveling NICU nurse who can't sit still, inherits half of her godmother's beloved seaside bed-and-breakfast, she dreams of selling the place to fund the nonprofit she and her godmother always envisioned. But there's one tiny problem: her new co-owner. Rugged, grumpy, and fiercely loyal to the inn, Cade Witherspoon isn't about to let his peaceful life--and his new start--be sold off so easily.
Everleigh and Cade are opposites in every way. She's sunshine and laughter, while he's all rough edges and quiet brooding. Their clash of wills over the inn soon has them wondering what on earth Everleigh's godmother was thinking when she left them both in charge.

But with the arrival of Cade's long-lost brother and the looming threat of a developer sniffing around the property, they'll have to make some hard choices--together.
Can Everleigh and Cade let go of their expectations and build something lasting together? Or will the Sunshine Inn be the place they both leave behind?
Second Chance at Sunshine Inn by bestselling novelist Amy Clipston is a heartwarming, standalone romance, which features the grumpy/sunshine trope and a charming small-town setting that's Netflix's Falling Inn Love meets Debbie Macomber set in a seaside bed-and-breakfast. This book delivers all the emotions and butterflies, leaving out the explicit scenes. And it comes with engaging discussion questions, making it a fantastic choice for your next book club pick!
Everleigh Hartnett, mom and father.
Ms. Alana Elizabeth McFadden Everleigh godmother.
Cade Witherspoon.
Everleigh is a traveling nurse returns home to attend her godmother’s funeral. finds out that she has inherited half of a bed and breakfast Inn . The other half of the Inn belongs to a man who is a total stranger to Everleigh .
Cade Witherspoon would rather run the Sunshine Inn by himself.
Everleigh gripped the door handle in the back seat of the
gray Tahoe and consulted her phone: 4:18 p.m. Thunder rumbled,
then rain began pattering on the SUV’s roof. Nineties alternative
rock sang softly through the speakers while the wipers began their
rhythmic humming.
Everleigh turned to the stranger— Mr.
Witherspoon?— who watched her with a hesitant expression. Who
was he? And why was he here?
“I don’t know why she left your siblings out, but Alana included
us and Cade, who worked for her.” She smiled at the man.
He replied with a stoic nod.
This guy worked for Alana? Her godmother had never mentioned
him before.
I recommend reading this book.
Second Chance at Sunshine Inn by Amy Clipston is a 5 star book.
I am looking forward to reading more books by Amy Clipston.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions shared here in this review are my own.

I loved the plot, the setting, the side characters, a side plot that happens, the cat, and the writing in this book. So I know you are wondering, “Maddie why in the world did you rate this book two stars?”
…and that is because I literally could not stand the two main characters. Both were extremely insufferable in many different ways and in the same ways.
I’ll start with Cade because he was the less (but not by much) insufferable character. We meet Cade and he’s just rude for no reason? They both show up to the reading of the will of Alana (our FMC’s godmother and his boss/mentor) who has recently passed away. They find out that she left the Sunshine Inn to both of them and Everleigh says she talk to him later but forgets to give him her number. And he thinks she’s rude for that…even though she’s struggling to keep it together at this meeting. And he continues to be rude throughout the book. Calls Everleigh selfish even though he never actually shares his dreams for the inn with her for a long time throughout the book. And overall just acts about 13 years old instead of 33.
Now onto Everleigh, she’s supposedly a NICU nurse that is so sweet and selfless. But she doesn’t think of anyone besides herself. She wants to open a nonprofit and is just convinced that’s why Alana left her the inn so she can have the money for it. Without ever even asking what Cade’s dreams are. She just assumes he wants to open a restaurant again (which he never said?). She gets mad that Cade calls her naive but that’s exactly what she is and we never get character growth from that. And is Everleigh is so giving, why did she not visit her family for two years? She didn’t even take the time to come see them or Alana. She had breaks in her contract and just didn’t visit? Plus in the book it felt like she wasn’t even upset about Alana’s death even though Alana was like a “second mother”
Overall, if this author has more contemporary romance, I would try out some of her other books because I enjoy her writing style. But the main characters in this one were so unlikable that I couldn’t even root for them.
I also really enjoyed this being a no spice/kissed only romance.
Thank you Amy Clipston and Thomas Nelson Fiction for an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review!

Grumpy and Sunshine. Small town romance. This book had a lot of promise but was a big let down. The writing was really repetitive and bland. It was a lot of telling and not a lot of showing. And the whole point of the book didn’t make any sense to me. Everleigh wanted to sell her godmothers B&B… I didn’t buy it. It meant a lot to her growing up and then she just wants to sell it right away… no. I skim read like 50% and I didn’t miss any of the story…
