This is about a snake and lizard that live in a hole together and decide to put a nameplate over their door. But changes to the names on the door and caused problems in the friendship. There’s also this running line on how sometimes friendship has a capital F and sometimes it has a small f. I understand the sentiment, but it seems misplaced in this book. This was not a fun read. I’m not even sure there was a lesson in here. The artwork is OK but seems straight out of the 70s. This book is fine. It will have its readers but overall, this book is not for me.

This was quite an enjoyable tale of an unusual friendship. I liked that though Snake and Lizard's are not always friends "with a big F" they work together to iron out their differences. There is plenty of humor in this one, and Gavin Bishop's illustrations only add to the fun.
This would make a great choice for a story-time read-aloud.

Misunderstandings come quick and often in frienships. This is a fun story that illustrates such understanding with impressive art and an entertaining narrative.

Snake and Lizard is a story about two friends who are sometimes "Friends" and other times are just "friends". I like the way the author used the capital and lower case "f" to show how their friendship went through changes. I think that will help young children understand that their friendships will go through trials and may change over time, but that's normal and they can overcome it if they stick together.
I think that young children will also enjoy the characters in this book. I thought it was fun that the main characters were a snake and a lizard and that they WEREN'T villains. I also enjoyed that the snake character didn't have the best eyesight as this seems to be true to real snakes. The side characters were fun additions to the story as well.
Overall, I thought this was a fun story with a great message that elementary age readers will enjoy!

I don’t know about this one. I get that it’s about friendship but the snake character is pretty much rude the entire time - there’s no apology from her nor understanding that what Lizard did was accidental and what she did was purely on purpose.

This was a cute story. Snake and Lizard come up with a great idea to put their names up outside their home but learn a valuable lesson when the letters are rearranged to spell out unkind words.
This is fun because kids can see how easy it is to change words by moving letters around, but also how important it is to be considerate of your friends' feelings.
Thanks to NetGalley for letting me read this

Overall, the book was well written and I did really enjoy it. Thank you for this advance reading copy!

Snake and Lizard are friends who live together. They decide to put their names by their home, but this leads to a spelling error and a disagreement. Can they work through their argument and get back to their friendship. The story is a good reminder of being kind to others and making sure that everyone is in on the joke. Quick read, perfect for bedtime timing.
Thanks to Gecko Press and NetGalley for an eARC of this book for an honest review.
