What a sweet romance. Rosie is an actress who is struggling to find work. She takes a summer job and it ends up being quite different from what she expected. This story is about reaching for dreams and having the courage to feel all the feelings. As Rosie takes on a new challenge she learns what is important in her life and where she wants to go next with her life. I loved this setting and the side characters.

As a performer, this book was SO relatable! I love it from start to finish!
Following our FMC Rosie, we get a rare insight into the highs and lows of being a professional actress/performer. Endless self doubt, and an inability to settle and put down roots, highlights the unpredictability of a career in the performing arts.
Rosie is very likeable, and wether you're a performer or not, it's difficult not to relate to her in some way. Hiding behind a mask, pretending she's okay, this book is an excellent representation of modern day mental health, and mental health in the industry. Can she make it though the self doubt and delivery a life changing play?
Booker on the other hand shows his commitment in other ways, finding himself feeling like he owes part of his life to others, never really getting the chance to live it, but not realising this until later on. He's also the only person that's ever been able to get Rosie to open up the way she does to him, but can he tear himself away from his commitments to find out what he really wants?
These two are a perfect match for each other in this fun and playful story! A bonus for those who don't really like on page action, this is very much closed door.
Special mention to Arthur! Our Grumpy friend who tunnels his way into our hearts (but I'll leave that one for you to read about)
FUN FACT: 'Everything's Coming Up Rosie' is a play on words from 'Everything's Coming Up Roses', a musical number from 'Gypsy'.
Thank you so much to Courtney Walsh and Thomas Nelson Fiction for this e-ARC. I truly enjoyed every moment.

You can never go wrong with a book by Courtney Walsh, including her latest Everything's Coming Up Rosie. This is a sweet, closed door romantic comedy with all the feels.
Rosie is an aspiring actress ho's down on her luck after she loses her job and apartment all in one day.
Rosie goes back home for a baby shower feeling down about her life after seeing her friends seemingly happy and successful. Then she gets a job in Wisconsin as the director of a production of Cinderella. Only when she arrives at the theater she realizes it's a production starring senior citizens. While it's not the job she thought it was she learns that it's the job she exactly needs. She finds love, laughter and great life lessons from her cast and crew. Rosie learns that perhaps you can pursue your dreams just in a different way. I really love the characters of Rosie and Booker, her love interest. This book is super charming and delightful and one that will leave you smiling from ear to ear. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC. Opinions are my own

This is a biased review because I will love anything that features a main character who is a physical therapist. I appreciated Rosie’s journey of adulting. When to let go of your dream and when to hold onto your dream. This book is a great reminder for peoples to stop assuming that everyone has it out together and realize that we are struggling in some way.

I really enjoyed this clean, romance novel by Courtney Walsh. I don’t think of myself as a theater girly, but that overarching theme wasn’t too off putting. I found the characters to be super likable, even old man Arthur. I found him to be full of wisdom and hope. I absolutely adored Booker and thought he was wise beyond his years. His advice and friendship he offered to Rosie was refreshing. All of Rosie’s friends were understanding and I like how they all shared how each do them were afraid of where they were headed in life.
Overall, I found this book to be a typical Courtney Walsh. Although not my favorite by her, I really did enjoy it and will recommend it to my family and friends.
Rated 3.5 round to 4 stars.

Thank you, Netgalley, for the ARC.
Well, this was a fun, emotional read. I love a happy ending! I really liked the character development of the FMC. She learned to be confident, brave, share her feelings, and follow her dream to be an actress. How her best friends, the retirement community, and her boyfriend support her. It made me tear up a little.

I know I’m in the minority, and so many others loved this book. However, I think it might be time that I move on from Courtney Walsh. As someone who is the same age as Rosie, I felt like she was so naive for her age. Really felt like an older young adult book, not an adult one. I just didn’t mesh with this story at all.

The sweetest story about finding yourself and what it means to chase your dreams.
Rosie Waterman has been trying to make it as an actress in New York, but it's been one failed attempt after another. When she finally gets an offer for a job, she takes it, even though it's temporary and as a part of the creative team. But this job is...not what she's expected.
This was such a sweet read! I loved Rosie and how fun and quirky she was. As someone who enjoyed doing theater in high school, I really liked the theater aspects of the story. And her journey to find joy and purpose in life was inspiring.
What really shined in this novel, though, were the side characters. There were so many, and they were all a delight! Arthur and Bertie were my favorites, with Dylan close behind.
Some of the microtropes:
⭐️ quirky side characters
⭐️ feisty old ladies
⭐️ dramatic, but loveable teen
⭐️ line dancing
⭐️ Friday questions that have to be answered truthfully

An absolute favorite!!
Rosie has been chasing her dream on Broadway for years with little success. Desperate for a job, she accepts a position directing a production of Cinderella...only to find out after that the theater is located in a retirement community.
Though tempted to quit, Rosie takes on the new challenge and on her journey of self-discovery, finds friends in unexpected places, including Booker, the handsome man who quickly becomes her friend and then something more.

What an absolutely beautiful and inspiring story! There were so many beautiful thoughts in this book that I felt like were directed right at me, things I needed to hear at the moment, and they were all wrapped up in a delightful story of a woman finding herself and rediscovering her dreams.
Rosie, even with her insecurities, was an endearing character and when she meets the whole host of quirky and lovable characters (yes, even and especially Arthur!) I fell completely in love with the story. Each character had a part in helping Rosie discover what she is capable of and what she really wants in life. And don't even get me started on Booker! So much sweet chemistry between him and Rosie and the way that they encouraged and supported and adored each other....all the happy sighs and all the swoon!!
This book had so many lighthearted, fun moments but was also a story with so much heart. It was the perfect combination and Rosie's inspiring journey stole my heart! Courtney Walsh can do no wrong and this book earned a spot on my favorites shelf...right next to all of Courtney's other books! A perfect read for teenagers and grandmothers and everyone in between!
I received a complimentary copy but a positive review was not required.

After years of being a struggling actress in New York, Rosie's finally . . . . right back where she started, visiting her hometown with zero prospects. While she's catching up with all of her old friends, she's feeling more and more defeated as she hears about all of their good news and success. She just can't seem to catch a break. More determined than ever to find something, anything, to give her a shot, she applies for every audition and job she can find related to her acting career hoping that one of them will pan out. And she receives a fantastic offer for an acting troupe in Wisconsin that is looking for stage help for their upcoming Cinderella performance. It may not be Broadway, but it could just be the next step to an upward trajectory on the career journey.
When she arrives at her new job, she finds things aren't quite what she thought, and she finds herself the new director at a senior community theater. What a let down! But with no other prospects on the horizon, she decides to make the best of it, and moves forward full throttle. And it doesn't hurt that the resident physical therapist is easy on the eyes!
This novel has a full cast of characters and are just what Rosie needs to discover what she really wants out of life. From resident crank pots to prima donnas, the seniors in this community make for some great entertainment. I also really enjoyed the banter and flirty conversations, though this book focuses more on Rosie's personal growth than a blooming relationship.
Tons of fun! Recommended for fans of clean and sweet romance.

Rosie Waterman's dream of becoming a working actor isn't working out. When she's offered a job as the director of a regional theatre's production of Cinderella, she jumps at the chance. But when she arrives, she quickly realizes that the "regional theatre" is actually in a retirement community, and the "actors" are actually senior citizens with no acting experience whatsoever.
This was quite the shock for Rosie but she soon got into the thick of things. I loved the variety of characters present in the community. Even Booker, the handsome physical therapist who was so supportive and patient. Rosie accepting her unconventional life trajectory was beautiful.
The narrator did an awesome job portraying various emotions in the book. I received a complimentary copy. All opinions are my own.
Rating: 4⭐
Steam level: 1🌶️ Kissing only

Rosie has always wanted to act, but with few roles turning up in New York, she's getting desperate. Desperate enough to accept a summer job in Wisconsin without any real idea of what she's getting herself into except that it's to do with theatre. When she arrives and discovers it's a retirement community which wants to put on the musical Cinderella, she almost quits despite her desperation, but somehow, she can't quite decide to leave. And of course, Booker couldn't possibly be part of her reason, because however attracted she is to him, she has no intention of starting a summer romance she can't finish - and New York is her home, not Wisconsin. But as she works to arrange and direct the musical, she begins to recognise what this place really has to offer and question what she really wants in life. Could it be that her dream was never really _her_ dream? And if so - what now?
It took me a little while to really get into this - possibly not altogether surprising since Rosie would have to be my polar opposite - but once it grabbed me, it refused to let go. And there was so much to love. Rosie has a lot of growth to do, and fortunately she ended up in the perfect place to provide the support she needed, however little she might have expected it. I particularly loved Arthur's wisdom once Rosie got past the crankiness - and all the more for the effort it took her to dig out. I love her ability to see - or find - the best in everyone. I'd like to think I try to look for the best in others, but I'm not good at it! As for Booker, well, in some ways he did feel a bit of a nonentity (possibly good because Rosie had so much going on...), but I appreciated the way he was always quietly there for her, supporting, pushing when necessary, and generally caring. And the cast of senior citizens? Well, some of them are definitely characters in their own ways, and I liked the way that the story quietly emphasises that they may be old, but they're still people with their own loves, hates, skills and foibles - and some you'll love, some you may hate! The result is a deeply moving story of someone learning their real place in life and how to truly be a friend and accept friendship. Highly recommended.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

This my first time reading a book by Courtney Walsh, and I wasn't surprised to find out that she was a actor - the book speaks very authentically and eloquently about the need and love of performing.
Rosie has been struggling to make it as an actress in New York, so when she is offered a job at a Wisconsin retirement community, it's a refuge to make sure she can pay the bills.
The book is interesting in that the first 2/3 and the last 1/3 felt like they had different messages. Rosie's dream has always been to perform, and she spends the book trying to figure out what her dream is - is it directing and helping build community through performance? Is it performing? I did really appreciate that I did not anticipate how the book would end (always a rarity), and I loved that the message was the importance of trusting your friends with the ugly and messy parts of your life.
This was a fun summer romance read (even if it does take place in Wisconsin - better than a winter romance read there!), and I'd recommend to fans of Tessa Bailey and Abby Jimenez. Thanks to Thomas Nelson for the early copy.

Theater people this one is calling you home! The banter, the wit, the fun of the theater & the back side of a production is just SO GOOD! Huge thanks to Netgalley, Courtney & her team at Thomas Nelson!!

My Thoughts:
I really love all of what Courtney writes. Her last book "The Summer of Yes" was a HUGE book to follow. I absolutely loved the journey that took that I was hopeful this one would follow up strong! Which it did. Courtney has a way of making you connect with the main characters and also the sub characters. She developes the characters deeply, all while letting it unravel more naturally in the story telling. This is something a lot of authors are weak or lack in. It's also typically why I will DNF a book out the gate.
you really fall in love the the journey they each go on, and where they end up. You are rooting for them in the big and small steps and just hoping they find their way through. In this case we are rooting for Rosie (main character) out the gate.
When Rosie Waterman’s acting career flatlines, she trades Broadway dreams for bingo nights and a cast of retirees in orthopedic shoes—and somehow, it’s the role of a lifetime. Equal parts hilarious and heartwarming, this story proves that sometimes the standing ovation comes from the least likely stage. A delightful reminder that dreams don’t die—they just change zip codes. Her connections, unlikely friendships with Booker and the theater members is absolutely heartwarming. I honestly really thought it was going to end differently, but LOVED how it did end!!!
Synopsis:
Rosie Waterman has one to become a working actor. But lately, that hasn't been working out. When she loses her apartment and her job on the same day, she does what she always does--puts herself out there, ready to find the next big thing. But a trip home makes her realize that while she's been struggling to make this dream come true, all her friends have become real adults with careers and weddings and babies on the way. Rosie's been at this for years, and she has nothing to show for it. But how does she simply let go of her dream?
When she's offered a job as the director of a regional theatre's production of Cinderella, she jumps at the chance--even though she's only directed in college and the job is in Door County, Wisconsin, and not in New York. She has no other offers, and at least she'll be getting paid to do something theatrical. But when she arrives, she quickly realizes that the "regional theatre" is actually in a retirement community, and the "actors" are actually senior citizens with no acting experience whatsoever.
Working on the show presents new challenges, forcing Rosie to learn how to step up and be the leader this fledgling theatre troupe needs. The more time she spends with her new cast, the more she begins to rethink what it means to dream big, especially when that big dream hasn't turned out to be at all what she thought it would be. It's not at all what she expected, but could it be exactly what she needs?

Courtney Walsh's newest release was a delightful surprise for me—an easy 5-star read! I’ve read several of Walsh’s books before and have always enjoyed them for what they are: clean, closed-door romances with heart. But this one? It went above and beyond my expectations.
Rosie completely stole the show. She was absolutely hilarious. I laughed hard throughout the entirety of the story. But what really got me was how her humor served as a bit of a mask, something the book slowly and thoughtfully reveals. That emotional depth added so much richness to her character and the story overall.
I also adored the entire cast of characters. They felt authentic and jumped off the page. They felt like people I could run into in real life. Each one brought something special to the narrative, and I truly didn’t want it to end.
I loved this one so much. If you enjoy heartfelt, genuinely funny romance with layered characters and a strong emotional core, don’t miss this book! Even though it was released this week, I have a feeling it's going to be a hidden gem with all the new releases coming out in June!
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing a digital copy for my honest review.

I love a clean, low angst romance and Courney Welch is the queen of that genre. Rosie has a dream. She wants to perform on stage. Well, she wants to be involved in theatre. Life in NYC is difficult, paying the rent is more difficult. After applying for every job she sees, she finally gets a job! This is where the fun comes in!

4-4.5 stars. A super funny, super charming read with an unlikely (literal) cast of characters. I loved the retired residents of Sunny Hills so much, and Rosie was such a a great, quirky, lively heroine. The romance with Booker almost felt a little more like background story, but I understand because it was really about Rosie’s personal journey. I always enjoy reading a Courtney Walsh book!
Thank you to Thomas Nelson for providing this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Rosie is an out of work struggling actress. When she goes home for a friend’s baby shower, she doesn’t know where her next meal will even come from let alone where she will live. Her group of friends from high school are still close, even though she has distanced herself from them, feeling as though she was a failure. But her friends are loyal, supportive, and boost her confidence. She also receives a job offer that she thinks is too good to be true. She accepts the offer and is on her way to Wisconsin. When she finds out what the job really is, she’s a little disheartened, but she decides to make the best of it. This is definitely an interesting twist on the life she thought she would be living.
I thought the story was entertaining, a bit slow during the middle. I didn’t really connect with the characters in the beginning, but about 3/4 the way through it really picked up and I really enjoyed the ending. I definitely skimmed through the middle, but I felt like I got the gist of the story. The story had some great world building, lessons learned scenarios. There is some sweet romance building throughout.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Rosie Waterman has always wanted to be an actor, but when she loses her apartment and her job on the same day, she does what she always does and puts herself on the line, hoping to find the next thing in her life. However, she soon realises when she returns home that her friends have all grown up an become ‘real adults’ with careers and children. So when she's offered a job as the director of a regional theatre's production of Cinderella, she jumps at the chance. She arrives to find that the "regional theatre" is actually in a retirement community, and the "actors" are actually senior citizens with no acting experience whatsoever. Soon Rosie finds herself having to grow up and realise that her future is not what she had always imagined.
This was a sweet read, particularly as it shows how Rosie grows up as she navigates her new role. The characters were incredibly entertaining and made this more than a simple romance.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

"There's a man here making my stomach flutter...." — me too, Rosie, me too.
Swoony, funny, and absolutely perfect! Even as someone who's not into theater, I couldn't get enough of Rosie, the seniors, and Booker. The narration was spot on. My favorite Courtney Walsh book yet!
