Description
Sometimes what you think you want and what you actually want turn out to be different things . . .
Rosie Waterman has one dream: to become a working actor. But lately, that hasn't been working out. When she loses her apartment and her job on the same day, she does what she always does--puts herself out there, ready to find the next big thing. But a trip home makes her realize that while she's been struggling to make this dream come true, all her friends have become real adults with careers and weddings and babies on the way. Rosie's been at this for years, and she has nothing to show for it. But how does she simply let go of her dream?
When she's offered a job as the director of a regional theatre's production of Cinderella, she jumps at the chance--even though she's only directed in college and the job is in Door County, Wisconsin, and not in New York. She has no other offers, and at least she'll be getting paid to do something theatrical. But when she arrives, she quickly realizes that the "regional theatre" is actually in a retirement community, and the "actors" are actually senior citizens with no acting experience whatsoever.
Working on the show presents new challenges, forcing Rosie to learn how to step up and be the leader this fledgling theatre troupe needs. The more time she spends with her new cast, the more she begins to rethink what it means to dream big, especially when that big dream hasn't turned out to be at all what she thought it would be. It's not at all what she expected, but could it be exactly what she needs?

I love Courtney Walsh books and this one did not disappoint. Rosie is a loveable character trying to find her way in life. She's lost her job and apartment in the same and returns home to find her friends all have families and careers. She gets offered a job directing a ragtag group on senior citizens in a production of Cinderella. I found myself rooting for Rosie the entire book! This book is funny, heartwarming and sweet. Everything really is coming up Rosie!

I loved this book! I read it in one sitting! I loved Rosie's character and the personal growth she has throughout the book. Bookers character was so good for Rosie, it was a sweet story with them falling in love. I highly recommend this book for anyone who likes romance.
Thank you netgalley for the copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

This was a fun read. I have loved other books by the author and this didn’t disappoint. It kept my attention and had me thinking about it when I was not reading it. Great characters. Great storyline.

Okay, so I picked up Everything’s Coming Up Rosie by Courtney Walsh because the synopsis sounded like a rom com wrapped up in a feel good life lesson, and it delivered exactly that! The story is about Rosie Waterman, who’s this relatable mess of a human being. She’s been chasing her dream of being an actor for years, but life keeps throwing her curveballs. She heads back home and gets hit with the reality that all her friends are thriving as adults while she’s still out here hustling with nothing to show for it. Then the opportunity to direct a Cinderella play lands in her lap. Except when she gets there, it’s not a real theatre, but a retirement community, and her actors are all senior citizens. It’s basically her worst nightmare, but also kind of hilarious! Rosie starts to rethink her dreams, priorities, and what “making it” even means. Overall, it’s funny, heartfelt, and super sweet journey!

Are you in the mood for a new romcom? Anything by Courtney Walsh will fit the bill. Her latest, Everything’s Coming Up Rosie is a great read.

This book is perfect in every way!! I could not put it down. Rosie is so relatable as she is struggling to figure out her life. Booker is the perfect match for her and is such a cutie pie. The multigenerational characters pull on my heart strings. I will be thinking about this book for days and months to come. Courtney Walsh has quickly moved to the top of my must read authors over the last couple of years. and she certainly did not disappoint with this one.

I really enjoyed this book. It has an interesting plot with very amusing senior characters who are easy to love. And it ends on a hopeful note for the future. I loved it and recommend to everybody who loves sweet closed door romance.

I just love Courtney’s writing! She’s a master at weaving together stories that are lighthearted but also have depth.
The full cast of characters in this one was so fun and delightful, they each brought something different to the story and had their own growth. I really enjoyed Rosie’s and Booker’s connection right off the bat, their banter, and how they encouraged each other to open up even though neither of them wanted to. I also loved the messages in this one and how real Rosie’s struggles were. You can’t help but root for her even though she got herself into a situation she wasn’t expecting. It shows how certain moments in life can shape you, it’s never too late to make a shift or have a new dream, and it’s not a failure to do so.
This one made me laugh and pulled at my heartstrings. It’s another one by Courtney I didn’t want to put down and left my heart so full!

Courtney Walsh is a fantastic writer! Everything is coming up Rosie is a book about a struggling Broadway actress who can’t seem to make it. She is lying to herself, family and friends.
So when she visits her hometown and get an unexpected email to work in theater in a retirement community it all changes for Rosie.
She goes from struggling actress to a kick butt director! It’s not anything Rosie thought she could do because all she wants in life is to be a Broadway star, but sometimes life changes directions for you and sometimes it’s for the better.
Add in sweet romance, friendship, humor, and inspiration and you got yourself a feel good read!

This was such a wonderful, character driven book. Rosie, an actress, hits life hard, losing her job and apartment in the same day. She returns home to Wisconsin to direct Cinderella the play, but the theater and actors turn out to be within a senior living community. This was certainly not what Rosie wanted or envisioned for her career, but then she contemplates if it was perhaps what she needed.
This book was a solid character growth book - Rosie is actually quite relatable, but her hometown and the senior community help her discover and come into herself. I loved that the author relied on seniors to help assist with this, a group that is frequently overlooked. There were a lot of moments where I laughed, but also heartfelt moments, too.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. Thank you to NetGalley and Thomas Nelson Fiction for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I was never a theater kid. I was a choir kid, but I was always more of a writer. Now I’m a teacher, and I had the honor of codirecting Peter Pan Jr with my best friend at the elementary school I worked at.
One of the things Rosie, the main character, says is that theater is a community. And it’s so true.
This book was warm and cozy. It was hopeful. It was funny. And it had a nice amount of romance sprinkled in it. If you want a quick, feel good read, this book is for you.
Thank you to NetGalley and Thomas Nelson Fiction for an advanced copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

Thank you NetGalley and Thomas Nelson for the ARC.
I’ve read a couple of CW books and this didn’t disappoint. I loved the romance and the plot, it was perfectly balanced.
Rosie is very relatable, nothing in her life or career is going how she thought and is struggling. She ends up getting a directing job but it’s not what she thinks. Booker is her perfect match and helps Rosie open up and she finds her true self again.
This rom-com has quirky-witty-banter, life challenges/lessons, only kissing, lovable side characters, and you definitely need tissues on hand.
I can’t wait to reread this when it comes out and listen to the audiobook.

Courtney Walsh writes the feel-good books that I NEED. I am so grateful to have a go-to author for when I need a little pick-me-up. This book was DELIGHTFUL. A misunderstanding when accepting a job offer (in Door County, WI, one of my most FAVORITE PLACES IN THE WORLD, so I was extra excited for that part) leads to quite the summer adventure for Rosie Waterman. While The Happy Life of Isadora Bentley and The Summer of Yes are still going to remain slightly above this one in my ranking of CW books, this one isn't that far off. Add this one to your TBR if you're in need of a sweet story that feels like a warm hug.

Everything’s Coming Up Rosie by Courtney Walsh is a delightful look at life, love, and facing your fears. This is the perfect read for someone who is wanting a splash of sunshine and laughter in the middle of winter. Courtney Walsh always manages to make me think while keeping me smiling. Her books stick with you long after you finish reading them. I give this book 5 stars. I received a complimentary review copy of this book.

Man, I wish I could give this more than 5 stars. I don't know how Courtney Walsh manages to knock it out of the park every. single. time. My absolute favorite part of this was that neither of them gave up their dream for the other. That's what usually happens and its so gross. Everyone got the happy ending they deserved and I loved the journey. Rosie is probably my favorite of all her characters so far. The holding back feelings thing I think is so relatable and prominent. Loved loved loved.

You can NEVER go wrong with a Courtney Walsh book. It was absolutely beautifully written and just a book that will stick with me for a long time. Loved it!

In Everything’s Coming Up Rosie, Courtney Walsh crafts a delightful exploration of new experiences, love, and personal growth. The story follows Rosie, a relatable and endearing protagonist navigating the complexities of life and relationships. Walsh's writing effortlessly combines humor and heartfelt moments, drawing readers into Rosie’s journey with vivid characterizations and a charming setting.
Rosie’s life-long dream has been to be an actor, however, after many years in New York, she has become good at showing theater patrons to their seats and making fancy coffee drinks. She’s avoided going back to her hometown in Illinois because she doesn’t want her best friends to realize she is a failure. They all have successful, promising careers, as well as satisfying lives. Rosie does go home however, to attend a baby shower of a friend. While there she gets a job offer, resulting from the hundreds of resumes she has sent out. She immediately accepts the job as director for a production of Cinderella at a regional theater in Wisconsin. Although the job is not New York, she accepts it since she has no other options and as a bonus, it includes housing, which is a relief since at this point her only option would be to move back in with her parents.
The plot unfolds at a brisk pace, keeping the reader engaged with unexpected twists and turns. Each character is well-developed, allowing us to feel a genuine connection to their struggles and triumphs.
One of the book's standout themes is the idea of embracing change. Rosie learns to confront her fears and take risks. The supporting cast adds richness to the story, each person bringing their unique perspective and contributing to Rosie’s growth and success.
Overall, Everything’s Coming Up Rosie is a heartwarming read that balances humor and emotion beautifully. Courtney Walsh's storytelling shines, making it a perfect choice for anyone searching for an uplifting and inspiring story.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. All comments and opinions are my own.

What a sweet read. Rosie is a struggling actor but hides the truth from her family and best friends and pretends everything is fine. She lands a job opportunity as a theater director for a retirement community.
Rosie's character grew throughout this story. Walsh crafted a sweet story with a closed door romance, a cast of wonderful, quirky characters, and a great storyline.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Thank you Net Galley for allowing me a chance to read this book. I adored it. The book starts off with Rosie, who is a down on her luck actor, getting offered a job directing Cinderella. Unbeknownst to Rosie the play is being put on at a retirement center. Rosie takes the job as she feels lost and that she has nothing left to lose. There she meets Booker, Arthur, Dylan, and a slew of more amazing characters who create a found family and help Rosie rediscover her love of acting. Rosie is a very relatable character as we all struggle sometimes to show our flaws or admit that we are having a hard time. I liked seeing Rosie grow and finally realize that with good people around you, you don't need to put on a facade. That your true friends and family will love you, even if you show the good, bad, ugly, and quirky that make you-you. I would definitely recommend this book as it is a cute, funny, and fast read.

I so enjoy Courtney’s books and especially her writing style. This book is about Rosie who is a struggling actress and at her bottom. She applied for acting gigs, actually not knowing what the job entailed due to her desperation and ended up with one at a senior community in Wisconsin directing their theatrical production of Cinderella.
Loved her cast of characters, with their own flaws, but all came together for such an uplifting and beautiful story. Courtney’s characters in her books typically are struggling with something and while weaving in a great rom com there is always a message which also means something for the reader to think about. This story will stay with me with a long time.
Thank you NetGalley for the ARC.

If someone asks me to give an example of what a perfect book is like, this one would be my choice.
I loved every page of the book. From the storyline and characters to the setting.
While the plot is not out-of-this-world original, the author's version was absolutely breathtaking. The way she build Rosie with all her layers and insecurities was fantastic.
I related to Rosie big time. She was super humane and realistic.
Her view on being a failure and hiding from family and friends, even if they were supportive, hit me hard. It's the same for me, and with how the author transformed her thoughts and feelings to words, it was really hard not to cry.
I also appreciate how the author didn't conform to cliches. For example, Rosie wasn't opposed to romance, she was just okay with not being in a relationship. If it happens, it happens.
The whole I-need-no-man trope is just so overdone, it was great how normal this one was.
And also her mannerisms. Finally an author who can write funny. Not quirky, not weirdo. Funny. Big difference.
The setting and side characters were fantastic. I would go as far to say I loved Arthur more than Booker. He had more of an impact on Rosie.
Booker was kind of a perk of Rosie working there. The guy was charming but in rom-com world, there are a lot of him!
Genuinely, the book was really special and heartfelt.
I strongly recommend it.
*I received an ARC of this book through netgalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review*

Rosie is living big in New York, living out her dream of being an actress. Except for one thing, she’s failing at it. She hasn’t gotten any jobs, she’s months behind on her rent, she can’t remember the last time this life brought her happiness, and worst of all, she’s too scared to tell her family and friends the truth about it. After she panic applies to everything under the sun, she gets offered a job in a small town in Wisconsin. It isn’t acting, but it is in a theatre, it pays, offers her a place to live, and is her only option at this point. It ends up being not at all what she expects, but possibly the exact thing she needs!
This book made my theatre-kid heart so happy! It’s hard to explain the feelings of being in a production, on stage or back stage and how happy it used to make me, but this book brought that all back and made me miss it all over again. Rosie is fun and silly and relatable in all her feelings of inadequacy. Booker is quiet and sweet and I loved him! All of the characters were fun to read about but Arthur might be my most favoritest old man ever. The love story is darling, the friendships are sweet and I loved the theme that it’s never too late to chase your dreams, but it’s also never too late to change your dreams.
Thanks NetGalley for an advanced copy, lurved it! This book officially comes out June 10!

EVERYTHING’S COMING UP ROSIE by COURTNEY WALSH is one of the most enjoyable novels I have read lately. Not only is it incredibly funny, but also there is depth of character, sweetness and a sense of excitement, as we follow aspiring actress and self confessed failure, Rosie Waterman, to Wisconsin to direct “Cinderella” at Sunset Hills retirement facility. Is she giving up her dream of acting, or will she learn how to adjust to her new situation and learn from it?
She has reached rock bottom but refuses to tell her three best friends, Taylor, Marnie and Maya, insisting that she is doing well. Will she open up to the gorgeous physiotherapist, Booker Hayes, or anyone of her new friends, and will she ever learn to relax and just have fun, living life to the full, both the good and bad parts?
I am not going to tell you any more for fear of spoiling things for you.
I cannot recommend this lovely read highly enough.
I was given a free copy of the book by NetGalley from Thomas Nelson. The opinions in this review are completely my own.

I love Courtney Walsh’s books, but Everything’s Coming Up Rosie may have been her best yet. Rosie is an aspiring actress who isn’t having luck furthering her career in New York. Too embarrassed to tell her friends and family about her lack of success, she accidentally takes a job as the director of a theater program at a retirement community, where she learns how to rethink the ways she has always imagined her life.
As a theater nerd, I loved the ways Rosie handled the challenges of putting together a play in a retirement community. But what I mostly loved was Rosie herself, and all the ways that she grew over the course of the novel. Her character was relatable, and despite all her struggles, still joyful. The cast of characters were unique and wonderful, despite the sheer number of them–her new roommate, her best friends from home, Booker (her love interest), and all the various members of the retirement community who join her theater group. They were all interesting and felt like people you knew, learning to live in community together and accept each other and themselves.
If you are looking for a feel-good story about romance, friendship, and personal growth, then this is the book for you.
Thanks to NetGalley and Thomas Nelson Fiction for the advance copy in exchange for an honest review.

This was a lot of fun. I really enjoyed the setting, the friend group, and the residents at the retirement community. There was humor, found family, and really good character growth. Definitely recommend for those looking for a heartwarming read.

This is my first Courtney Walsh book—despite having a couple on my shelf—and it did not disappoint. The only disappointing part is the fact that I haven’t read any of her books sooner. This is a phenomenal story about second chances—in love and in life—as well as learning who you are. As an enneagram three (yes, I’m bringing a personality test into a book review) a lot of this book really hit home. I’m so glad I went into this with little to no expectation—I think it made reading all the more worth it.
Thank you, NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book. I can’t wait to read more from Courtney Walsh.

Courtney's writing has consistently been a 5 star for me! Her books are always an easy, enjoyable read but with depth. I loved the quick wit, quirky humor and personalities. I loved the references to musicals and songs throughout. I was highlighting quotes often, not just for the fun parts but for the depth this book has as we watch Rosie face new growth. Rosie's fears and growth felt so relatable surrounding going after dreams, perceived failure, and understanding our "why." I love books that have the wisdom and perspective of older generations, and this book did not disappoint. I also appreciated the ending wasn't predictable and not as I thought it would-- but in a good way!

I really enjoyed this story! I love the author and how she tells the story. I’m picky about my clean romances and she nails it every time!

It is no surprise that I am writing another glowing review for one of my favorite authors latest releases. If you’re new to Courtney Walsh books… Welcome 🤗 or Die hard fan like myself… eek!!! You’re going to love this!
“It’s just life.”
One of my favorite things about picking up one of Courtney’s books is she knows what her readers want. And for this case… Yes… A floundering actress who finds herself accepting a position as a director at a “regional theatre”… which unbeknownst to her is at a retirement community. Let the shenanigans and self growth commence 🎭
“I don’t think anyone actually knows what they’re doing. We’re all in various stages of making it up as we go.”
Rosie! I adored her character. My heart hurt for her and how she felt like she wasn’t advancing in life alongside her friends at the same pace… which lead her to but on a facade and which ultimately pushes her to take the position as Director… taking a chance and building community is what makes her really take a look at her life and come to realize what she is truly passionate about.
Everyone she came across was kind and furthered her growth. Arthur was truly something special and I think I may have highlighted every line in the chapters he was in. He really helped get Rosie to her outcome and I loved how full circle it felt with the character Dylan that Rosie took under her wings. Truly special.
“It’s amazing what you discover if you hold the dream loosely.”
And of course Booker. I was a bit on the edge of my seat towards the end. He is so sweet and I loved that the romance was subtle and didn’t take aways from Rosie’s story but added to her growth.
I can go on forever about this gem. I don’t know who I need to get a hold of but a position at Sunset Hills sounds like a dream… a cute cozy cottage, all the activities a supporting community. Sounds like a dream!
“And remember, you can be exceptional anywhere.”

Adored this story. I loved acting and putting theater shows together in my younger days and this title reminded me about all that goes into a production. Walsh crafted fun characters, and I found it to be a heartwarming story. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC.

Everything’s Coming Up Rosie was such a fun read. Rosie is relatable and Likable, her story was interesting, the banter was funny, and I just wanted everything to work out for her. I enjoyed reading it and was so happy to get a chance to do so before its official release.

I enjoyed every aspect of this book. This cast of characters stole my heart from the beginning, Rosie, Booker, Daisy, Louie, Bertie, and even Arthur, who turned out to be a big softy at heart. Rosie was a character I found myself really connecting with, because I could see a lot of myself in her. She is afraid to open up and let people in for fear that she will get too close and disappoint them or have them walk out on her. Once she finally lets her walls down, she not only starts letting people in, but she also discovers what she wants to do with her life and who she just might truly be. She also learns that in the letting go you sometime get so much more in return.
My favorite scene has to be the tarp picnic. Who knew a tarp, a box of pizza, and a couple waters could be soooo romantic. Oh, and the ending was absolutely perfect!

I love Courtney Walsh books. That's all I can say. Her lighthearted perspective is a breath of fresh air woven together with swoony romance and solid characters. Every time I pick up one of her books I know it will be a happy escapism with no chance of sadness, but still a dose of depth and growth.
I particularly loved the theater settings in this one and I wanted to be friends with the main character.

Another super sweet romcom from Courtney Walsh! I laughed a lot, even cried 🙈
Rosie is a struggling actress and has taken a directing job for a community theatre. Her discovery that the “community” is actually the Sunset Hills Retirement Community is leaving her unsure of her life choices. There’s also Booker, the sweet and refreshingly honest (and really handsome 😍), resident Physical Therapist.
This cast will seriously make you laugh out loud, sassy and spicy seniors alike. Give it a read if you want a funny and wholesome romcom of old.
Thanks to #NetGalley and Thomas Nelson Fiction for this ARC. Opinions are my own. #EverythingsComingUpRosie

I have never read this author but the cover looked cute so I figured I would give it a try…and I’m so happy I did.
I loved everything about this book! The characters, the setting, the writing. Everything about it was amazing!
This story is about Rosie. The struggling actor who got kicked out of her home in New York and is forced to move back home. She gets a job offer at a theatre complete with great pay and a place to live. What could go wrong?
I was rooting for Rosie in her working life as well as her dating life. Can we talk about booker?? Ugh I loved him.
Does this review make sense? Probably not but if you get anything out of this it’s the book is fantastic

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for gifting me a copy of Everything’s Coming Up Rosie!
This is the story of Rosie who is having a hard time finding jobs in acting until she receives an email telling her that she is accepted to work in the creative time of the production of Cinderella. The thing is it takes place in a retirement community and she is the director- which she has never been before!
I didn’t want this book to end. It was the sweetest and most heartwarming story. I thought I would cry a few times because of how cute and amazing this story was. The character development was incredible, it was funny, easy to read, and couldn’t have been better.
Arthur and Dylan were SUCH a great characters, I loved them so so much
And her best-friends were also so nice and supportive.
It can only get 5⭐️!!

Walsh’s signature storytelling shines here. Her prose is engaging, effortlessly blending humor, heart, and those little emotional gut punches that sneak up on you. The dialogue is sharp and snappy, the comedic timing is spot-on, and the emotional beats hit all the right notes. Underneath the romance, the book explores themes of resilience, forgiveness, and embracing the unexpected, giving it more depth than your typical rom-com.
Rosie is a wonderfully relatable protagonist—quirky, flawed, and brimming with charm. Watching her grow and step into her own is as satisfying as watching dough rise (which, if you ask me, is a deeply underrated joy). Ian, on the other hand, is the perfect mix of broody and sweet, with enough layers to keep things interesting. The side characters add richness to the story, making the town feel like a place you’d want to move to immediately.
Strengths? The humor, the chemistry, and the emotional depth. Walsh masterfully balances lighthearted moments with real, meaningful growth. The romance is the slow-burn, butterflies-in-your-stomach kind, making every interaction between Rosie and Ian chef’s kiss perfection.
Weaknesses? If you’re looking for high drama or jaw-dropping twists, this isn’t that kind of book. But honestly, that’s part of its charm. It doesn’t need theatrics to be utterly captivating.
Final Verdict:
If you love small-town settings, witty banter, and characters who feel like friends, Everything’s Coming Up Rosie is a must-read. Fans of Katherine Center, Emily Henry, or anyone who enjoys a rom-com with heart will absolutely adore this one. Thank you, NetGalley, for the chance to read this gem—I’ll be pressing it into everyone’s hands the moment it hits shelves!

I love courtney's books so much. this was so sweet and an amazing book about self discovery. loved it.

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC!
5 stars ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Courtney Walsh is an auto read for me so when I saw this ARC I had to read it!!! Ugh I loved it so much like I still have tears in my eyes as I write this. I love her writing and how she always manages to suck you in ASAP!
In this book we have Rosie and Booker. Rosie is a theatre girl and is not doing so hot in NYC as far as her career goes. She decides to come back and in the process she gets a job offer and being down her luck she takes it…except she doesn’t know what the job is! Then Booker comes in…oh booker 🥰 Rosie quickly finds out she’s been hired at a retirement home in WI to save the theatre program. In the process she finds herself and lets go of some big emotional baggage. Along the way she meets people who end up changing her life.
It’s a very cozy and sweet story! Can’t wait to buy my physical copy as a trophy.

Such a cute self discovery romance! Rosie is on an adventure to figure out what to do with her life and the lessons she learns along the way have a way of tugging at your heart strings. The humor woven throughout the book is really the cherry on top. This is definitely a must read romantic comedy!

I smiled while reading the entire book
I was cautiously optimistic while reading Courtney Walsh’s latest book. I was cautious because I was never a theater person in school but optimistic since it was a Courtney Walsh book and I love her writing. It’s a rare book that has me smiling throughout the whole story but that is what happened. That’s not to say everything was sunshine and roses from cover to cover to but the story was so relatable that I couldn’t help smiling, and laughing, and feeling all the feelings. This one is well worth a read!
"I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own."

What a sweet romance about self-discovery! It was the most charming and touching tale. It was hilarious, easy to read, had excellent character development, and couldn't have been better.

This story is so inspiring! "Everything Coming Up Rosie" is a beautifully written romance novel that captures the essence of finding love and shaping/following your dreams after setbacks. The story follows Rosie, a down on her luck actress struggling to make it in the NYC theater scene. She learns she gets a creative team job after tucking her tail and heading home. She realizes upon arrival at her new job that it’s not what she anticipated. Her job is director of a retirement community theater. I was hesitant at first because the story really focuses on Rosie’s struggles with her situation, but Walsh does a great job shaping the story so that you not only understand why Rosie struggles, but root for her along the way. Overall, "Everything Coming Up Rosie" is a must-read for fans of chaste romance and inspirational fiction.
Thank you Thomas Nelson Fiction for providing this book for review consideration via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

The romance, the found family, the retirement community. All of it was amazing. There wasn’t a character that I didn’t end up loving and when the book was over, I was crying because I loved it so much. This was such a precious book and a perfect summer read.

Before I get to what this book is about I have to say it is PHENOMENAL. I laughed, I cried, I giggled, I had big feelings, I felt giddy like a school girl with a crush, this book really was an experience and an amazing one at that. I wish I could read this book again for the first time because it really was that wonderful of an experience
Now what you’ll get in this book without giving away spoilers- friendship, family, found family, healing of trauma, healing of generational trauma, lovable characters, closed door romance with a slow burn that is just perfection, so much growth, jokes, songs, theater jokes of course, and so much more.
Rosie is an actress who has been struggling for a long time but she refuses to tell anyone so faced with the choice of coming clean that she’s broke and jobless she takes a job she doesn’t remember applying for, and it’s nothing that she expected, or wanted, but is it what she needs, you’ll have to read to find out..just trust me it’s worth it

Loved this book, it was such a refreshing read from my normal genre and im definitely keen to read more from this author. I couldn't put it down and read it straight through in one evening. Highly recommend xx

Courtney Walsh is an automatic read for me every single time because I've never read a book of hers I didn't just love. So when I started this book about theatre I wasn't real sure if she would be able to capture my attention like she usually does. I'm just not that into theatre. Then we find ourselves in a retirement community and I'm like Courtney what are you doing to me? But alas she swept me off my feet with another one of her romance books! I absolutely loved this book and all the characters. I had no problem imagining each of them to their fullest extent. I wanted to be part of the story myself. I found myself laughing and crying throughout the entire book. I didn't think I'd be able to finish at one point with all the tears in my eyes. You will absolutely love this book!!

Another brilliant 5 star read from Courtney Walsh. I loved this one so much, i don't want to give anything away, but is a must read for someone who needs a laugh and also some encouragement when their life is feeling stuck and disappointing! Go get it now!

I adored this book! Rosie is chasing her dream of becoming an actor on Broadway in New York and applying to any and all jobs. With no other prospects, Rosie accepts a director position in Wisconsin only to arrive and realize all her actors are residents of a retirement community.
I loved this book!! If it’s possible, this book felt like a hug. Courtney writes such heartfelt stories with amazing character development. I really appreciated the open communication between Rosie and Booker and the underlying message about chasing your dream but also allowing it to evolve and change. Highly recommend this book!
Thank you Courtney Walsh, Thomas Nelson Fiction and Netgalley for the eARC in exchange for my honest review.

Thank you to Thomas Nelson Fiction and Netgalley for this chance to read and rate this ARC!
Courtney is the queen of cute reads that don’t disappoint! Well done. Recommend!

Oh my heavens! Courtney does it again. I fell in love with all the characters. I laughed and cried and cannot say enough good about this darling book!
Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC!

You can't go wrong with a Courtney Walsh novel and this one definitely didn't disappoint!
Rosie was desperate for any job in acting, but was surprised when she found herself taking a directing job at a retirement community. She quickly fell in love with the residents and the resident physical therapist, Booker. The quick wit and banter made me chuckle and Rosie and Booker's love story made me swoon. The only thing that would make this novel even better is knowing there'd be a sequel with Daisy and Louie's story.

When Rosie got a job at a theatre in Door County, she was excited for the chance to have a solid job for the summer, even if it was different than her dream of life on the stage. With a wonderful cast of characters and a lot of growth, Rosie ends up having a summer she didn't expect, but it might just be for the best.
Rosie was a character that was so relatable in a number of ways. Her struggles, her fears, her dreams, and her growth made it so easy to connect with her and quickly become invested in her story. I laughed, I cried, I swooned over her and Booker, and cheered on the Cinderella cast until the very end.
Courtney Walsh does an amazing job at creating characters that add such depth to the story and leave you wanting to hang out with them for a little while longer. This was such an easy five star read for me.

I ADORE Courtney Walsh's books and this one may have come out to be a top favorite so far. This was full of heartwarming moments, many laughs, and lots of happy tears.
Rosie and Booker were adorable and I love how he brought out the positive side in her. Rosie has been struggling and feeling like a failure so when she takes a job she knows nothing about, she's even more defeated to learn it is a retirement center. But the younger staff quickly become friends with her and show her what a great place it is to work. I loved the feisty senior citizens in the story and how they proved they are capable of putting on a show and deserving of the community support. Rosie and Booker were just too adorable and I was crying happy tears at their ending. All of the side characters had me cracking up. But Rosie's awkward moments really had me giggling.
I can't wait for everyone to read this story, it will definitely be a top favorite this year!
Thank you Netgalley and Courtney Walsh for the advanced copy in exchange for my honest review!!

I LOVE Courtney Walsh books..... every single one of them! So when I saw this book, I knew I had to read it ASAP. And somehow, this may be my favorite (though I say that about every one of her books as I read them).
Everything's Coming Up Rosie is a sweet journey of adjusting to what your dream may really look like in real life. Rosie's development is incredible and the characters are so lovely. I love this book and cannot wait to buy it for my daughter when it is available.
Thank you netgalley for an arc of Everything's Coming Up Rosie by Courtney Walsh

Everything’s Coming Up Rosie is classic Courtney Walsh writing, if you’ve loved her previous books you’ll love this one. If you’ve have never read anything by her, you’ll love this one, so pick it up you won’t be disappointed.
Rosie dreams of becoming a working actor, but somewhere along the way she misplaced her why.
She finds herself needing a job and a place to live. That’s where a summer program called the Sunset Players comes in.
As the story moves forward Rosie builds real relationships and her true self shines through with some help from her new found friendships.
What I Loved :
Courtney writes so vividly you see the characters!
Curmudgeonly Arthur, he’s so fun!
Pop culture references, I watched “The Muppet Movie” again with my kids after reading this book lol
Sweet Booker!
I love books that make me laugh out loud !
A quote:
“Funny.” He eyes a sign on the side of the road and slows down to turn as he says, “I don’t think anyone actually knows what they’re doing. We’re all in various stages of making it up as we go.” I know I am. But is he right? Is everyone, to some degree, pretending?

I enjoyed this cute story about a young woman who accidentally winds up directing a play for a retirement community. The characters are a lot of fun in this story!

This book was so much fun! There were so many things to love about it!
The story is set in Door County in a senior citizens community and it is such an idyllic setting. It was the place I would want to live when I am older!
The cast of characters was pretty incredible too. I wanted to be Rosie despite her struggles that she went through. She has three best friends who are always there for her no matter where she lives. Booker is hunky, sarcastic and supportive. Arthur is grumpy but you can tell that he has a sensitive side. And Rosie is definitely the star of the show. She's funny, quirky and such a love for the theatre. I love the banter that she has with people especially the sulky teenager, Dylan.
Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for the arc. The opinions are my own.

I do believe this book has made it to the top 5 of my top reads for 2025 and it's only February! All the characters had such heart and I really enjoyed the senior citizens the most.

I expected to love this book and was not disappointed one bit. It’s so heartwarming and funny, and the characters are really wonderful. Arthur is probably my favorite character out of all of Courtney Walsh’s books. The story is really fun and this book will definitely be one that I reread in the future.

Fun, quirky Rosie, the young woman who breaks out in song on a whim, stole my heart in this story. She's a little bit insecure and has trouble sharing her feelings...until she meets the cast and crew of the retirement village where she starts a whole new life as creative director, albeit maybe a temporary one. As she directs Cinderella, she learns that life is meant to be shared. Highly recommended.

This is officially my new favorite Courtney Walsh book. The message of this book was incredible & I am so excited for everyone to read it.
It was SO much more than a romance. It was about Rosie figuring out her dreams & realizing dreams can change and that’s OKAY! It was about her accepting help, letting people in, and not pretending — allowing others to see you’re not okay. I related to that so much. 🥹
The romance was SWOONY WORTHY. Booker is my new favorite MMC. He’s confident & flirty — perfect. Their relationship was sweet, romantic & tender.
This book really left me wondering how it would end, but it ended SO well. I was 100% crying as I read the ending. 🥹 I adored all of the characters in this book too. It was such a good ensemble cast and each character added an important element. Dylan & Arthur may have been my favorite!
I received a complimentary copy of this book from Netgalley & Thomas Nelson Fiction. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

This story was fantastic!! SO GOOD! We immediately meet Rosie and soon after, her amazing friend group. Rosie’s relationships with the people she meets during this story are golden. And Booker, whom we meet almost right off the bat is everyone’s favorite. All these people help us see Rosie’s world just as she does. We care for them just like she does. There are so many funny moments. I don't often laugh out loud while reading, but there were quite a few moments when I did. And it's emotional. I may have even closed the book at the very end with a tear in my eye. This story has heart and depth and enjoyment and perspective. It’s absolutely fantastic!

Everything’s Coming Up Rosie is a delight book. I loved the plot and the characters. You will love this book. I received an advance ebook from the publisher and Netgalley. This is my unbiased review.

“Everything‘s Coming Up Rosie” was a delight to read and everything I’ve come to expect from Courtney Walsh!
This had it all. A meet cute that quickly had me grinning, wonderful old and new
friendships, a cast full of delightful elderly folks, and a leading man whose charm immediately captured me.
Rosie is a young woman with a lot of insecurities and even self deception which may be keeping her from the life she really wants. When she inadvertently winds up as theatre director in a retirement community, her whole life is redirected.
I wasn’t sure how this one would turn out, but it was, of course, the perfect HEA. Booker and Rosie are a couple that make me smile even now as I think about them.
Another surprising character was Dylan and I find myself wondering if she may wind up with her own story ??
I received an early copy of this from NetGalley with a request to share my honest opinion.

Everything about Everything’s Coming Up Rosie is sweet and cute and funny. Rosie, MFC had me laughing and smiling. She was an interesting character to say the least . I liked how Courtney always writes sweet and lighthearted books, this was no different than the rest. At first I was skeptical but more I got into the book I loved it more and more. This will be a book I pick up again for sure.

The format of the file is wonky. If I can get an updated version, I'm happy to come back and update my review.

Courtney Courtney Courtney, please never stop writing! Your books are so funny and full of so much heart. You couldn’t help but love Rosie, and cheer for her through every situation. Well written, great character development (Arthur!), and an all around great story. Thank you!

Rosie Waterman feels like a failure after her life in NYC as an actor comes to a halt. At her friends baby shower, she steers away any questions about how her life is going in NYC.
Rosie takes a job in Wisconsin as a director for Cinderella at a retirement community, which is a surprise to her she didn't look at the details of the job very closely.
This book is about failures, finding your dreams and yourself along the way
Everything's Coming Up Rosie is a book I'll be recommending. I loved it.

"Everything's Coming Up Rosie" by Courtney Walsh is just the book I needed after some very heavy weeks lately in my personal life. This book is charming with a wonderful, quirky cast of characters and I just couldn't put it down. From the setting in a Senior Citizen's community in Door County WI to a beautiful romance I just loved this book.
Rosie is a person that has been lying to herself, her friends and family about her "fabulous" acting career in NYC. She's so desperate to get a job in acting, doing anything that might save face she applies for one job after another - landing herself as the theater director of a ritzy senior community. As Rosie comes to terms with where she ended up, she also starts to learn more about herself and the character growth in this one is incredible.
I really liked her love interest Booker, 3 best friends from home, Dylan - the cranky teen stuck at the retirement community for the summer, the roommate Daisy, wise Arthur and all the senior citizens in the cast. Door County is always an idyllic setting in books and though this book could really take place anywhere - I love that this book is set in Wisconsin where I live.
Fans of Courtney Walsh's books will love this one. It is a clean, closed door romance filled with a journey of self-discovery. This one releases June 10, 2025 and is a perfect beach read for the summer (or like me reading it in the cold of winter - may warm you up)!
I want to thank Thomas Nelson for the opportunity to read an ARC of this book. All opinions expressed are my own.

Oh my goodness, this book!!! It is a swoon-worthy love story. But not just about romantic love. Also about coming to love yourself better, being vulnerable with people who've earned your trust and who show up when things are bad AND when they're good, trusting those people to have your back, and learning to let the experiences and stories of your past serve you in the present. It's about being okay with re-imagined dreams, changing directions, and still going for and pursuing goals & passions when they light you up from the inside out. I adored the plot, the setting, every single character, and had true tears a few times. Booker is 🙌🏻🤟🏻 ("work can be fun, find a new dream," when Rosie says, “I’d like to be the center of his attention.” 🤣) He’s wise and easy going and calming to her hyped up/stressed out/perfectionist goal setting persona. Arthur + Dylan + Connie + Daisy + Rosie's three BFF's all make the story that much more endearing. This is a story about learning to be okay with feeling deeply, and if you read it, you will fall deeply for all the characters, guaranteed.
I will be recommending this one to friends for a long time.
PS: I received a complimentary copy of this book. And, opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. And for real, get your hands on a copy asap, it'll make your heart happy!

Another fantastic story that had me tearing up at the end. Courtney Walsh is always an auto read author for me but this book is a beautiful tie in to her other career of theater. We get theater, some really great characters and a retirement community all rolled into one…and the bonus is it’s all set in Door County, WI. We see Rosie struggle with her career choices and feeling like she has failed. An unexpected opportunity comes up and she grabs it, without really knowing what she is getting herself into. It ends up being nothing she expected but everything she needed. The actors at a retirement community help her find her love for her craft again while also helping her learn that she can trust and confide in her friends and not feel shame for not being who she thinks everyone expects her to be. A sweet love story, a fantastic cast of characters with all the theater highs and lows and learning that being your true self is the best way to live. Put this on your list of books to read when it comes out in June. Thank you NetGalley and Thomas Nelson Publishers for the ARC.

Rosie's an actress in New York. All her friends think she's excelling but in reality, she's floundering. After being kicked out of her apartment, Rosie's accepts a job for the summer as a part of the creative team for a production of Cinderella. She moves to Sunset Hills, meets a gorgeous guy named Booker, and moves into her cottage for the summer.
This was my first foray into Romance, other than reading Harlequin Intrigue books in high school and college. I wanted to stack the decks a bit so I chose a book about theatre as I am a theatre kid, all grown up of course but still immersed. I loved this book! The characters were adorable and the book was fluffy and fun. It was a huge departure from my normal reads but so worth it! I will absolutely be venturing further into the romance genre soon!
This book is an enthusiastic Read It!
Note: I received an ARC of this book, at no cost to myself, from NetGalley. This review was voluntarily left.
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

I have been following Courtney Walsh for a while, and I have enjoyed all of her books, but this one was a particular favorite. The dialogue is witty, and Rosie is so relatable. It balances being romantic and sweet without being cheesy or ridiculous. I did a lot of theatre in high school, and it was such a fun setting, especially with Rosie's performers. It's a super sweet low angst low spice (still some good kissing though!) romance that everyone should read when they have a bad day.
**Thank you to NetGalley, Thomas Nelson, and Courtney Walsh for providing me with this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I don't know much about what it must be like to pursue a career on stage, but like Rosie, I've had to face my own life not looking like what I envisioned. Who hasn't been thrown some curveballs in life? I, too, "sometimes find fiction easier than reality." There's something so hopeful about immersing yourself in a story and watching the characters find happiness and love where they least expected to find it. If you're in need of a dose of hope and joy, hop into the golf cart with Rosie and enjoy the ride!

I was very fortunate to receive an early copy of this wonderful heartwarming book and let me tell you all that you are in for a treat.
I quickly fell in love with this book and with each page turned I fell a little more. The characters were so lovely and endearing and I enjoyed every single one of them.
I enjoyed Booker and Rosie a lot, right from the start they hit it off and just had this incredible connection. The banter between them was hilarious and I lost count at how often they made me laugh out loud. It was a pleasure to watch Rosie discover who she was and who she wanted to be, her character had so much growth throughout the story. I loved all the friendships she made, I think the one she shared with Arthur was definitely a favourite, they helped one another and it was very special to watch.
The storyline was great, something a little different and fun, I love that the author did one about the Theatre as it’s a huge part of her life and it made for great reading.
I absolutely recommend you grab this book, you will love it.

Rosie's life in New York is one of failure. Her dream was to be an actor, on the stage or screen. Which has not happened. And yet she still dreams of making it one day. She gives her friends and mother reports of how wonderful life is in NY, even though she has been lying to herself and everybody else. She is soon kicked out of her apartment for lack of rent payment. Rosie is offered a job at a Wisconsin theatre for a production of Cinderella, and she jumps at the chance to work with a creative team . But when she arrives, she discovers SHE is the team. And the theatre is in a retirement community. Can anything more go wrong in her life.
Booker is attracted to Rosie from their first meeting. But Rosie is only there for the summer, and it becomes difficult for her to let her heart open. Things go awry when the theatre floods, and the production may be cancelled.
This is a fun story. Lots of humor and banter between Rosie and Booker. This heartwarming story has a charming cast of characters that will warm your heart. A fresh clean romance.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received via NetGalley. All views expressed are my honest opinion.

What happens when life doesn't go quite as you planned? All those big dreams you thought you would accomplish just aren't working out the way you envisioned. Do you give up or do you realize that life needs a little shift in perspective.
Rosie is a struggling actress who dreamed of making it big in New York. But now, 7 years later, she's finding the only big thing she has is debt. Upon returning home she's faced with that dreaded comparison monster of how all her friends' lives have turned out and comparing all the accomplishments they have achieved vs her small suitcase back at her parents' home.
Life has plans though for Rosie as she finds herself with a dream opportunity to direct a play. There are just a few surprises with this opportunity. First, the theater is in Door County Wisconsin and not New York. Ok, so a small location change. Not a big deal... Second, the actors / actresses don't come with lots of experience. Also, ok. Good directors can work with everyone. But the last one is the one that causes a lot of pause for Rosie. The actors / actresses are a little on the older age range as the theater is located within a retirement center. This is not the vision Rosie had for her life. Directing a play at a retirement center isn't something she excited to scream from the rooftops about to her friends and family.
However, sometimes you just need to embrace the journey you are on and see where life is going to take you for a moment because in all honesty "It's just life". This story is filled with not only self-discovery but some sweet romance and an amazing cast of characters. What is Rosie going to do when faced with deciding between chasing her big dream or reimagine her dream based on one summer spent in Wisconsin.
If you love theater, have constant cravings for pizza, aren't afraid to dream big, can drive a golf cart, have a soft spot in your heart for misunderstood grumpy old men, and know that you can have love and dreams together this is the perfect romance for you.
Thank you, Courtney, Thomas Nelson Fiction, and NetGalley for my eBook. It was not expected for me to leave any positive reviews. These opinions are 100% my own.

I didn't really like the character of Rosie at first in this book. She was all over the place. But I was intrigued when she received the job at the retirement community and how that was going to work out. After that point I could not put the book down. I loved the healing that took place in Rosie and the other characters. It really hit close to home for me because I don't always share with those around me. I really have to get to know someone to open up. Towards the end I even stayed up late the last night to find out the ending. Such a good ending and so very glad to have read the book.

Everything's Coming Up Rosie was so much fun and I stayed up way too late finishing it! Rosie is such a likable character and I loved the unique stage production setting as well as the charming cast of senior characters.
When we meet Rosie at the beginning of the book she's a little bit lost and directionless, but through circumstances, friendships, and personal growth we get to see Rosie bloom into such a great character. I really enjoy books where the character has enough flaws to make them feel real, but leaves you feeling hopeful and positive by the end of the book.
This sweet romance is one of those books that will tug at your heart and leave you full of warm feelings.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

I love everything Courtney Walsh writes so when I saw that her newest book was available on NetGalley, I jumped at the opportunity to read it. It definitely didn't disappoint. I can relate to Rosie in so many ways! I was a theatre kid in high school with big dreams! Now I never attempted to make it on Broadway, but it is interesting to explore how our dreams and plans shake out differently than we expected as we live life. I can also relate to wanting to be "perfect" or "successful" and hiding the truest parts of myself when those are the parts that make us relatable as humans. As Rosie was realizing this in this book, I was nudged to examine myself and my tendencies as well.
The romance in this book was so cute and sweet. I loved seeing the relationship between Rosie and Booker grow as they begin to trust each other. I also loved the relationships that Rosie gained with other amazing characters in this book. It didn't just focus on the romance.
Overall, I really loved this great story. Thank you NetGalley for the chance to read it. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

I love Courtney Walsh’s trad books that have more of a women’s fiction vibe. They’re always full of heart and Rosie definitely fit the bill. I’ve seen Walsh talk on social media about how this book is close to her heart because she own a theater in real life and so I love that she put Rosie in that world. I loved watching and rooting for Rosie as she’s faced with directing the play at a regional level and the way we were immersed into the world of the theater. I feel like Walsh always does a great job of creating three-dimensional characters that are relatable in some way—or creating a side character we can relate to as we navigate the world the main character is thrown into. I definitely will read this one again.

Rosie Waterman is a shining light in a mixed up world who had always dreamed of being a star. Her mom told her to never give up on her dreams but what happens if your dreams change, or you change, and your life finds a new purpose? In Rosie’s mind she felt like a failure compared to her best friends Maya, Marnie and Taylor. Their lives were all mapped out whereas Rosie’s life had brought her back home to dwell on her mistakes and think about her future. I love Rosie’s feistiness, her drive, and her honesty and I am certain this summer will be one she will never forget.
Rosie didn’t know it yet, but she landed the job of a lifetime when she became the Creative Director at the Sunset Hills Retirement Center. The food is delicious, her quaint cottage is divine and the dreamy and handsome physical therapist who picked her up at the bus station was too good to be true!! How hard could it be to direct a summer production of Cinderella? Rosie may not have much experience with directing but she loved a challenge and would do her mother proud! She learned a lot about herself that summer and realized that everyone, both young and old, has a story to tell and it was important to listen, engage and revel in what she could learn. Some of the best advice she received that summer was from Arthur, one of the residents, who had a successful and rewarding theater career back in the day. He was brutally honest with Rosie about her talent, and his kindness helped her with one of the biggest decisions she ever had to make. Rosie realized that she could have it all; a career in theater, good friends, and a man that understood and accepted her for who she really was.

I take back every five star I’ve ever rated a book just to highlight how much I LOVED this. This felt like a story my Nana would have given me with a handwritten dedication of all her hopes, dreams, and wishes for me. If it is not obvious she was a librarian, novelist and lover of life. Reading this felt like she had written it specifically for me. She never got to see me rework my dreams and get another chance but I have no doubt she would have been standing the tallest, clapping the loudest and celebrating me like Rosie’s family in that dressing room. I have never laughed so hard while reading, ever. Needless to say it struck a cord within me. I felt an immediate connection to Rosie and if I was ever in need of a BFF I know she would be the best kind. The vibes were spot on with this one. I am shouting my recommendation from the tallest rooftop! So well done Courtney Walsh.

I absolutely loved reading Everything’s Coming Up Rosie! It was everything I expected the book to be and more. It had me reminiscing about the days when I worked at a retirement community. I still think about some of the residents from my time there, even though it’s been more than 15 years.
My only complaint would be that the book was not longer. Not because it was missing anything, but because I’m so sad that it’s over and I miss Rosie and Arthur and Booker and everyone else already.
I don’t know how Courtney Walsh does it, but she’s the queen of weaving together a great story. The characters, the details, the banter - it is all done so well. She makes me laugh and she makes me cry in the best way. Anything she writes is always an auto buy for me.
Thank you so much to Thomas Nelson Fiction for the advanced copy. All opinions expressed above are my own.

I didn't know anything about this book when I started but I have read other books from Courtney Walsh that I have enjoyed. Little did I know that I would fall in love with this book. Courtney wrote such a fun story with great characters and a fun setting. Pick up this book if you want a fun light-hearted read that will keep you smiling throughout.

I’ve said it repeatedly, and I will say it again: Everything Courtney Walsh Writes Is Amazing!
Thank you @tnzfiction for my early copy of @courtneywalsh ‘s upcoming new release, EVERYTHING’S COMING UP ROSIE, out June 10, 2025.
I loved Rosie’s character! She’s an actor living in NYC, and struggling to make ends meet. She has the best friends at home, and she is great at making everyone “think” everything is just FINE!
When Rosie heads home out of desperation, she spends time with her friends, surrounded by their growth as adults and their success. In the midst, she receives an offer to head to Door County, Wisconsin to direct Cinderella with the most motley of casts.
While at the retirement community [p.s. Go ahead and put me on the waiting list- this place sounds FANTASTIC!]She makes the BEST friends, learns so much about herself, and in classic Walsh fashion, we meet the most adorable, elderly supporting characters.

A great story . Rosie is a struggling actress living in New York with no jobs and now no place to live . When she offered a job as a director of a regional theatre's production of Cinderella she accepts . When she arrives she realises that she has to work at a retirement community with old people . What she didn't believe is that she will love all those new friends she make and that she will finally talk about her secrets which shape her character . And there is Boomer the amazing guy who she tries but fails not fall for him .
I received this book from netgalley , the author and the publicer as an ARC . Thank you . All thoughts and opinions are my own .

Oh my goodness, was this just such a gem! Classic Courtney Walsh writing style (which I love). I always know I can get a feel-good romance with no language, sexy without steam, and a happily ever after. I didn't read the description of this book so I was HAPPILY surprised about Rosie getting a job in a retirement community. This book was full of heart, full of music, full of friendship, and full of the perfect romance. I loved so many nods to Broadway and couldn't devour it quick enough.

I loved this one! It was so unique. Courtney Walsh writes some of my favorite books. It was funny and deep with some love.

A lovely book that was even better than I expected!
Rosie has a wonderful group of friends, but she doesn't dare reveal to them that her dream of becoming an actor is miserably failing. When she receives a proposition to direct a theatre play, she doesn't hesitate and jump at this opportunity. The problem? She hadn't realised the theatre was in a retirement community and the actors are senior citizens. Is it too late to back out?
I loved the setting in which this book take place: a manicured retirement neighbourhood, friendly staff members, a summer camp kinda vibe. It's a really a feel-good book, who makes you want to join the cast! I really enjoyed the portrayal of the characters, who were a little stereotypical but still had their own personality; I enjoyed the feeling of community in this book, I enjoyed the way Rosie came to realise what was most important for me and could make hard decisions, I liked the romance although it wasn't the central element.
Great book that I'd recommend!
*I received a free eARC on Netgalley in exchange for my honest opinion*

What lovely read!! I’ve been loving the characters in Courtney Walsh’s most recent books. They have spunk and character and the issues they face are so relatable!
In this book, Rosie spends her adult life chasing a dream she promised her mom she’d never give up on. But because it’s not going as planned, she feels like a failure. When she gets a new job working in an unexpected place doing work outside of what she ever planned for herself, she grows so much as a character and comes face to face with where her value is, what her dreams truly are, and how important being vulnerable and honest is. I absolutely loved these themes and how the older generation + really solid friends helped Rosie to grow and change.
I’m such a huge sucker for older people in books if I’m being honest and there were a couple moments between Rosie and Arthur where I had tears in my eyes. This definitely isn’t a sad book, but there were a couple really heart warming moments.
The romance was very sweet as well, however it almost felt like it wasn’t the main point of the book with this one. I did like the love interest, but I felt like more of the focus was on Rosie’s character growth. Booker was just one of the ways she grew and changed! I loved their Friday questions.
Per the usual, I also laughed out loud several times. There wasn’t anything heavy or frustrating about the plot and I loved that Courtney Walsh books are so upbeat and positive! This one didn’t disappoint!
Overall, I absolutely love this book. It’s in the top 3 of my favorite books by this author and I cannot wait to read more.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. A huge thank you to the author, publisher and net galley!

This book was such a fun read!
I loved getting to know Rosie and seeing her character grow.
Rosie goes from being a down-on-her-luck actor to being a successful person.
And...surprisingly (or not) she learns so many valuable lessons when she takes a completely unexpected job as a theatre director at a retirement community!! She didn't want to do this job, but didn't have any other good options.
The life lessons she learned there were absolutely invaluable.
I loved watching her make friendships (especially watching her and Booker grow close) along with dealing with hard things in life.
This book was such a good read and I highly recommend it!

A fun, lighthearted, quirky rom-com!
-Single POV
-The best banter
-Funny! I was laughing all through this book.
-The BEST side characters
-Booker & Rosie 💕

What a wonderful read. The theater world is something I'm not a part of and it was fun to get a glimpse of. However, while it's a part of who Rosie is it isn't all she is so while this story has the touch of theater it's not overwheling or the major focus. I love that while this author writes low stress, clean and closed door romances she still captures relationships and all it's complexities and nuances. Also, this had good character growth without the angst and drama. I recommend this if you're ever in a book slump! So many lol moments. Such great banter and connection with the hero and heroine. Also, with all the other characters. They each had their own great connection that added to the story and gave it another satisfying layer. Overall, I found the story delightful, endearing, and funny. I will say I got a little nervous there at the end with her choice but in the end it acutally ended in the most perfect way. I wouldn't change a thing.
My highlights:
Best meet cute ever!
Solid introspection and growth
"People it turns out, really are life's greatest adventure."

Loved this !! Such a cute and clean read. Really enjoyed her writing style, can't wait to check out more of her books!!

What a delightful read about a girl going for dreams and becoming who she wants to be. Steamy Kissing only Rom Com with top-notch banter and slow burn longing.
The side characters are wonderful. The friendship and support Rosie gets helps her bloom. A wonderful
story of getting what we want isn’t always what we thought it would be, and getting what didn’t expect might be exactly what was needed.
There were so many LoL moments. The MMC is a good man. I love that. He is emotionally available and so supportive and sacrificial.
I was interested and engaged through the whole book. Great pace and no lull or over written chapters. Courtney did a great job laying out our FMC struggles and challenges in a way that is true to human nature.
I was left rooting for so many characters that I really loved by the end.

I LOVED EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS BOOK.
So much so that I had to shout about it. Rosie is down on her luck trying to be a successful actress in NYC and is failing miserably. She doesn't want to let on to her people at home how much of a failure she feels like so she acts like everything is amazing but it's slowly killing her to be lying to her friends and family. She just panic applies to every job possible and get's a hit in Door County for the summer and takes it and it is life changing.
Rosie finds herself directing a production of Cinderella, at a retirement community. Yep - Cinderella is old. And this is EVERYTHING. The characters, the banter, the found family... Courtney Walsh definitely used her theater background for this one and it shows. She knows all the ins and outs of putting on a show and it came so beautifully to life through her words.
I seriously did not want this one to end. I will continue to read everything this brilliant woman puts out!
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the advance copy in exchange for an honest review. This book is fighting Isadora for my favorite of her standalones. This is out in June and you should most definitely pick it up

"That's part of the adventure. If everything was good all the time, you wouldn't appreciate any of it. It's the hard stuff that makes the good stuff so much sweeter."
Courtney Walsh indeed is a queen of poignant rom-coms. I fell in love with Rosie from page one - her spirit, desire to make people laugh, heart for people, and tenacious nature were so endearing. Her honest, raw first person voice was relatable, sweet, funny, and lovable. Her growth as a person, a theatre director, and an actress was quite satisfying to experience. And Booker. Oh man, he was such a perfect leading man for Rosie. Mind you, he wasn't perfect - he had his flaws of wanting security and safety, but his patience, steadfast loyalty, great sense of humor, and generosity made him such a safe haven for Rosie and her wandering soul. This book made me cry snort-filled laughter tears, heart-aching compassion tears, and heart-broken ugly tears. It's one of my favorite reads from 2025. If you love rom-coms with all the feels, you don't want to miss this one.
I received a complimentary copy courtesy of Thomas Nelson via NetGalley and was under no obligation to post a positive comment. All opinions are my own.

BOOK REVIEW - ARC
EVERYTHING'S COMING UP ROSIE BY COURTNEY WALSH
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
That said, what an enjoyable read! I had never read a book by Courtney Walsh before & now I want to read her entire repertoire!!
Rosie is such a great character. I wasn't sure about her at first, but she quickly grew on me. She's funny & witty & fun. I wish she was my friend in real life!
I also loved Connie; she's a very well-written character. I could imagine her so easily in my mind. Every story should have a Connie!
Speaking of what every story should have, everyone needs an Arthur in their life. What a magnificent man. I absolutely loved him. He made my soul happy.
And, of course, I loved Booker too. I also like that the author compared him to two famous people. I looked them up, which helped solidify Booker as a real person. What a hottie, haha.
If my review wasn't obvious, I absolutely loved this book.

I love all book titles by Courtney Walsh! She is an author that has a special way to connect with her readers and create books that you just can't put down. I love the development of the characters and how her books are not graphic or triggering at all. All you are Graced with is quirkiness, romance elements you with all the swoony feels and just a balance of life and the opportunities that manifest itself over time. Thank you Courtney Walsh for your books and for Netgalley that has provided this ARC.

The sweetest, feel-good story. Not just about romance, but life and the people that make it matter.
I loved the journey of Rosie. It may have happened in a way that few (if any) take, but it was so relatable and beautiful. I think every human has had moments of wondering if they are a failure (and the only one to be failing). I think everyone has experienced the pain of isolation in some way. And to see represented on a page the beauty of community and how honest vulnerability matters? *chefs kiss* and all the feels.
And Arthur? Probably the best side character. Although this book is packed full of excellent characters.
So many good quotes too. This might be a book I have to have a physical copy of, just so I can always have it on hand.
I laughed out loud, cried, and was left thinking about my own life in unexpected ways for a “rom-com.” I also felt that compared to most other writings in this genre, Courtney Walsh is actually a strong writer and story teller, not just putting something quick on a page because rom-coms sell.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Another 5 star read from Courtney Walsh! I’m not surprised! I really didn’t expect to love this one- I’m not into theater/ musicals at all but I loved sweet Rosie! Her journey of self-discovery was one for the books 🥁 🤭☺️ Booker 🙌 thank you for being a gentleman for being patient with Rosie & pursuing her! We love a MMC who is willing to peel back the layers/ jump the wall!!
The side characters made this story so phenomenal I don’t know where to start!!
Arthur is giving me a soft Severus Snape vibes (loved him!) seeing his and Rosie’s growing relationship and just encouraging each other to pursue life to the fullest was one of the best parts of this book. Daisy 🌼 I wish we got more of her!! Everyone deserves to have a Daisy in their life- a fierce friend and encourager! 💛 I’d love to see a book with Daisy in the future! Bertie!! Sweet & sassy Bertie! Some of the best quotes from this book was from this lovable grandma. Dylan- you never know the impact you have on including someone in the moment and when Rosie reached out to her my heart swelled and the ending with her- get your tissues!! You can change someone’s entire life in one interaction ☺️🩷
This book is just pure innocent gold! You should read it if you’re looking for encouragement, struggling to embrace life to the fullest or simply need an extra smile! 😊

Everything I have come to love about Courtney Walsh!! She just knows how to write them! I fall in love with all the characters- the main and also all of her side characters!! There’s no reason not to read Courtney’s books. They’re lighthearted without being shallow, always so fun!

Courtney Walsh has done it again in 'Everything's Coming Up Rosie' by providing a thoughtful, tender and hilarious story. The author's genius way with words evokes deep emotions and laugh out loud moments that combine for a perfectly delightful experience. I highly recommend Rosie's story.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own.

I loved this book! From the beginning, I related to Rosie and was rooting for her. Her struggle to figure out what she wants to do with her life is one that resonated with me and I enjoyed her character development throughout the story. On top of that, Booker is absolutely swoon worthy and the relationship he had with Rosie was so sweet. The retirement community was such a unique setting and combined with the "save the theatre" theme, it made the book hard to put down.

One word to sum up the entirety of this book would be WOW! I am not over exaggerating when I say this is and will be my top read of 2025. The characters, the dialogue, the humor, the emotion.. I am blown away by the book, “Everything’s Coming Up Rosie” written by Courtney Walsh. I am a big fan of Courtney’s work and was so excited to dive into this read!
The main character Rosie is a struggling actress (to say the least), who is lost in life. No job, no money, and incredibly lonely in New York began blindly applying for Jobs. In her hasty search, she randomly applies for a job as the creative director at theater in a small community in Door County. To her dismay it wasn’t just any ‘small community’, but a retirement community that expected her not only to direct the play Cinderella, but to make a show so amazing that it saves the failing theater program. With twists and turns, love and heartbreak, and creating new dreams, this book exceeding every expectation I had. I would give this book infinite stars, it needs to be added to everyone’s TBR!
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own 🤍

I absolutely adored this new book by Courtney Walsh. It discusses Rosie, a woman whose acting dreams have been shattered over and over again while her friends seem to be succeeding at life. When Rosie accepts a job without reading the whole description, her life starts on an unpredictable path of growth and realization.
I loved Rosie's character development, and the chemistry between Booker and Rosie was so well-written. The other characters were so fun and enjoyable, and the ending definitely gets a chef's kiss from me.
If you're looking for a delightful, light-hearted read, I definitely recommend adding this one to your list for the summer.

Oh Rosie, I felt like your story was me 15 years ago. Sometimes you hold on to a dream so tight that when it doesn’t go the way you planned you feel like an epic failure instead of seeing that your dreams can change and morph.
Rosie Waterman has been trying to make it as an actress in NYC for years but nothing ever really goes her way. She paints her city life as glamorous to her friend group but really she’s floundering. When she gets kicked out of her apartment and receives a job offer to be a part of a production of Cinderella in Wisconsin she takes it.
Once she arrives, things aren’t exactly what they seem and she soon realizes she’s directing Cinderella at a senior living community. Although out of her element, with the help of the community (and the community’s physical therapist) she realizes that she’s been looking at her dreams through the wrong lens. Instead of asking “What if I fail?”, she learns to ask “What if I can?”
Rosie gained so much from the community around her, especially Arthur and Booker. I loved Arthur’s grouchy exterior but his heart of a teacher on the inside. And Booker was fun, a little quirky and the perfect guy next door. Booker helps to ground Rosie but at the same time gives her wings to fly.
This book is a great mood booster and a lovely romcom with all the feels! There hasn’t been a book by Courtney Walsh I haven’t loved and this is just another in that “Loved it!” column. Thank you @netgalley and @thomasnelson for the ARC copy!

loved this one!! Beautiful characters and Arthur was my favorite. Totally clean, sweet romance. I was thinking id be disappointed with the ending but it redeemed itself.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

It has been too long since I have read a Courtney Walsh book and I LOVED this one. I inhaled it on a flight back from Europe, and it had me loving this story of a girl coming home and rediscovering who she is. Rosie accepts a job without understanding what she's walking into because she is desperate. What she finds is a place where she grows into more than she thought she could be. The supporting cast of characters is delightful, and I really enjoyed seeing Courtney's other life as the director at a youth theater come to life as Rosie puts on a show at a retirement community. The romance is also so sweet. There are laugh outloud moments, plenty of times that tug at your heart, and just a story of coming home to who you were and who you are. I truly loved this book.

Rosie leaves NYC and the theater after several years of trying and floundering. She heads to her mom's house in her hometown with her tail between her legs. But, she refuses to share her story, even with her oldest friends. In perfect timing, Rosie is offered a summer job in Door County and she jumps at the chance to get back to work. In her haste, she neglects to read all the details and her summer assignment is a surprise.

Whether it's a full on romcom or books like this one that read a little more like women's fiction (while still delivering that romance and a HEA, of course), if Courtney Walsh writes it, it's undoubtedly going to be a must read for me. This one was absolutely no exception. Right away, I was drawn into Rosie's life... I think anyone who has ever felt like they weren't quite living up to their dreams and expectations is going to relate to this character (and if you happen to have theatre experience, even more so). As the story begins, Rosie is feeling her dreams of being a successful professional actor fading away with each letdown. And then she gets offered a job at a small regional theater... which was not quite what she expected, being at a retirement home and all... but it might be just what she needed. I loved seeing her growth throughout the story--- both in her confidence in herself and letting others in. Booker was such a great match for her and while her journey definitely took center stage (no pun intended), I just couldn't get enough of these two together. With moments that had me laughing out loud and others leaving me reaching for a tissue, this one took me on a beautiful emotional roller coaster, and I enjoyed every minute!
Everything's Coming Up Rosie is a closed-door romance with kisses only and no language.
**ARC received via Netgalley for consideration. All opinions are my own.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. ARC provided by NetGalley and Thomas Nelson Fiction.
Well 5 stars, so you can probably guess I really enjoyed this book. I love community books, with characters and their troubles. This was the perfect mix of romance and community, and it really ended with such high feel good spirits.

I loved this book! I enjoyed reading about all the different characters in the town. I would give this book 5 stars!

I LOVE THIS BOOK!! I love seeing the show come together! I love the relationships that develop between Rosie and everyone at the "community". She finally learns what real friendship is about. Rosie needs to deal with her past to put on the best show and be the best person she can be, but that is really what everyone needs to do. You have to deal with whatever issue is holding you back. Super book!

This was the perfect blend of self-discovery and romance. Courtney is an actual romance genius. Booker is a fantastic male main character and is so perfect for Rosie. I really enjoyed Rosie’s journey of discovering what really matters in life and how to achieve it. Dreams change but that doesn’t mean you’re a quitter. Five stars for this adorable romcom laced with meaning and inspiration.
I received an ARC of this novel via Netgalley. Thank you to Thomas Nelson Publishing and Courtney Walsh for the opportunity to read this. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Courtney Walsh has such a way of delivering strong female characters in a way that readers can’t help but root for them. Rosie is no exception. This book hit all the right notes for me.

Review: Everything’s Coming Up Rosie by Courtney Walsh
Meet Rosie. Nothing is going right in her life. She can’t get a good performing role. Her last one just got terrible reviews. And her roommate just kicked her out for not paying the rent. She returns home for a friend’s baby shower defeated and feeling like a failure… but she can’t tell anyone, they all have it together. In a snap decision, Rosie takes a too good to be true job on a creative team at a theatre. Only to find out that it’s at a retirement residence, and it’s all senior citizens putting on a production of Cinderella.
Although surprised by this turn of events and a handsome coworker, Rosie knows the show must go on!
This latest novel from Courtney Walsh is an absolute delight. As a high school drama kid, it ticked all of the nerdy theatre boxes along with being my favourite kind of found family story. I’m also a sucker for a ragtag group of unlikely people coming together for a good cause, and this novel is exactly that in a perfectly heartwarming package about never giving up on your dreams and learning to trust the caring people around you.
Thank you to Thomas Nelson and NetGalley for this advanced copy. All opinions and rave reviews of this book are my own.

Coming Up Rosie by Courtney Walsh is everything I didn’t know I needed—warm, funny, deeply emotional, and so full of heart it practically leaps off the page. Rosie is a heroine you can’t help but root for—quirky, determined, and trying to hold it all together in the midst of life’s curveballs. The story is a beautiful blend of second chances, small-town charm, and the kind of hope that lingers long after the final page.
Courtney Walsh’s writing is effortlessly engaging. She captures both the messiness and the magic of real life, and she delivers characters who feel like friends. I laughed, I teared up, and I closed the book with a full heart and a smile on my face.
This one is an absolute gem. If you love stories about redemption, resilience, and finding joy when you least expect it, Coming Up Rosie needs to be at the top of your TBR. Courtney Walsh has done it again!

Everything’s coming up Rosie
By Courtney Walsh
I got this audiobook via @netgalley as ARC and heres my thoughts about it, which are all mine. Thank you also @tnzfiction this book!
Courtney is one of my favorite authors and she really nailed it again with this book. This one is story how you can find yourself help with great (but odd) people around you. I could relate that so much and maybe that’s why I feel this books is so special. In same time its super funny maybe all the characters makes it special. So it’s perfect combo witty humor and growth, like life is too. So this book felt really real. And special points of mentioning Chicago Comets (authors other book series).
Highly recommending!!
5/5

Courtney Walsh is an auto-buy author for me. I've loved everything I've read from her, so I was very excited to receive a NetGalley copy of her latest book, which comes out in June. When actress Rosie desperately accepts the first theatre-related job that is offered to her, she soon discovers just how important it is to read the details in the job listing. She gamely sets out to direct a play cast with senior citizens at a retirement community with no expectations outside a paycheck, but soon discovers she has a lot to learn from the residents—and she doesn't mind spending time with the handsome on-site physical therapist either. This heartwarming book is rom-com meets women's fiction with a full cast of quirky characters. You can't help rooting for Rosie, and I loved the way this story ended. Five stars!

I would give it more than 5 stars if I could! I absolutely loved it! Everything's Coming up Rosie is Delightful, funny, and heartwarming. All the feels!
"WELL SHOOT. This isn't how my life is supposed to go." Rosie Waterman's goal in life is to be an actor. "Thanks to the many, many phone calls from my perpetually worried mother, I've perfected the fine art of making my life sound shinier that it is. I call it....creative storytelling."
"There's no way I'm letting people see that I'm a failure, I'm an actor. Time for the role of my life." Those are her thoughts as she leaves New York to go home to see her best friends Taylor, Marnie, and Maya, and reevaluate her life. "My heart aches, I want to tell them the truth so badly. I want to give up and admit that my life is in the toilet, that I'm virtually homeless, and that I'm very close to quitting the only dream I've ever had. But I can't say any of it. The fear of disappointing them is too great."
In the nick of time before she decides to come clean with her friends, Rosie gets a wonderful job offer in Door County in Wisconsin. She accepts the job without really reading the fine print because she is desperate. She does not understand what she's walking into. What she finds ends up being a place where she grows more than she ever thought she could. "That's part of the adventure. If everything was good all the time, you wouldn't appreciate any of it. It's the hard stuff that makes the good stuff so much sweeter."
The supporting cast of characters is delightful, and Booker, oh man, he is perfect for Rosie. From when he picks her up at the bus stop, he accepts her weirdness with humor and friendship, and gets her to ask herself honest questions once a week. They are so adorable together. 'Because there's something about Booker that makes me want to drop the act. To stop pretending." The fact that Booker moved to this retirement community as a physical therapist to be near his Grandma is one more lovable thing about him. And she is a hoot.
Rosie is so funny. At a time when I needed a good laugh, a "stuck in the mud" scene was hysterical!
She finds community as she directs Cinderella at the retirement community, she finds a mentor, and she herself sees possibilities in others and helps bring them out.
I can't recommend Everything's Coming Up Rosie enough!! More than 5 stars for me. You will love it!
Thank you to Thomas Nelson and Net Galley for allowing me to read an early copy. All opinions are my own.

Rosie has spent the last seven years trying to make it big as an actress in New York, but she spends most of her time doing auditions and waiting for the phone to ring, and doing odd jobs. A trip home to see her best friends finds her having trouble admitting this to them, as they all think she lives a glamourous life in New York.
After desperately sending resumes to anyone and everyone she is excited to get a job on a creative team to produce a production of Cinderella in Wisconsin. Excited until she realizes its for the Sunset Hills Retirement Community and there is no creative team, just Rosie and a lot of senior citizens. There is also a hunky Physical therapist, a teenage girl who blossoms under Rosies attention, and a retired theatre manager that is not what he originally seems.
Rosie has a lot of self confidence issues, which I often get impatient with, but in this novel it was fun to watch Rosie grow and learn from the people around her. I found this a perfect blend of found family, coming of age, friendship and romance. Although it may be too sweet and predictable for some, it was perfect for me, and just like Courtney Walsh's last two novels I enjoyed every minute of it. Thank you to net galley and Thomas Nelson fiction for the e galley of this sweet story.

Courtney Walsh has quickly become an autoread for me, and I couldn’t wait to dive into Everything’s Coming Up Rosie.
Like Walsh’s other works, Rosie’s development is central to the story, with a delightful romance playing close second string. Rosie’s sense of disillusionment with her life, as her friends hit typical ‘success’ milestones is so relatable. I also love the way Walsh plays with characters of different ages and perspectives. Rosie is hit with a dash of humility when she finds herself directing a play for an old folks home, but it’s the perfect way for her to explore her relationship with acting, and discover some hard truths.
Rosie’s chemistry with Booker is so sweet and I loved their earnest and honest relationship. There was a wonderful maturity in their dynamic which was so satisfying. The story was well paced, and had just the right balance of unpredictability and dependability for a rom com.
Thank you to the publishers for an early copy of this book. Opinions expressed are my own.

A sweet, funny story about life’s unexpected surprises, friendship, and romance. This book is filled with delightful characters who bring the story to life. I found myself laughing out loud several times and at other times, groaning at the main character, Rosie, wanting her to see what was right in front of her.
Courtney Walsh’s stories never fail to entertain and touch me. I think we can all see a little of ourselves in the Rosie and learn through her journey. Life’s unexpected turns can sometimes be the exact thing we need.
This story is absolutely delightful! It is a must read!
I was given a complimentary copy of this book by the publisher through NetGalley. All opinions expressed are completely my own.

Rosie is a successful NYC actress...or so that's what she wants everyone to think she is. She is an actress but she hasn't had many upcoming opportunities lately. Her friends are either married, pregnant, or have amazing jobs. Except for Rosie. She is still trying to figure out this thing called life and how to make it. Rosie has a job opportunity that she applied for and she got the job as a director at a regional theatre for the theatre's production of "Cinderella"...at least that's what she thinks she is getting herself into. When Rosie arrives at the "regional theatre" she realizes that she is at a retirement community and that her "actors" and "actresses" will be senior citizens. She has a huge challenge on her hands? Will she accept the challenge or will she run from it?
I absolutely LOVED this book! I felt like I was actually living at the retirement community! The details in the story are so sweet and I did not want this book to end! I love Courtney Walsh's books! She is such an amazing author! Thank you to Thomas Nelson, for this E-ARC in exchange for my honest review!

This was adorable. Rosie was so stinking cute, and I just wanted to be her friend. Booker was perfect, and I needed more of him!

Absolutely delightful story! I really lined up with this story. The characters were so well fleshed out and authentic! I loved the premise of dreams are good, but dreams can change and still be your dreams! I really enjoyed all the banter and old people comment gems! This author makes me feel and I love that in a good book! I would adore more books like this one in the world! Keep them coming!
Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for this story! All opinions and thoughts are my own.

“This is what’s holding you back, Rosie.”
There’s nothing better than reading a book with a very relatable main character. Rosie has big hopes and dreams, yet life has a way of creating hardships and detours on her way to achieving them, and admitting failure isn’t on her list of things to do. So…she pretends. Even with her closest friends. And in a moment of desperation, accepts a job for a Cinderella production without reading the fine lines and finds herself learning, stretching, growing, discovering her true self, and experiencing true friendship, trust, and love in the process. Who can relate to this?? I sure can and that made this insight all the sweeter.
Rosie’s character is so pliable and resilient. I adored her journey and admired her personality, but I especially loved watching her with this community. With all the feels of an incredible women’s fiction, mixed in with a gentle romance, and liberally sprinkled with the most magnificent group of friends, I devoured this story. Booker is a charming and winsome man who truly believes in Rosie and urges her, supports her, and cherishes her to fulfill her potential.
I loved everything about this book and it’s one I will ponder on frequently.
Content: mild romance

I wasn’t hopeful with the first couple of chapters, but I’m pleased i stuck with it and it didnt end up a DNF.
Rosie needs work, shes a struggling actress in NYC, all her friendship group seem to have their lives together. So she mindlessly sends out her cv over and over, just when she thinks all is lost a summer job offer in Door County Wisconsin, lands in her inbox, directing a production on Cinderella. Rosie accepts, not remembering what she applied for, and only skimming the job adverts, she arrives at a retirement community.
Will she find love with the physio therapist?
This was a lovely multigenerational read, with a great mix of characters. Really enjoyed reading this. And its already in my to read again pile.

I have previously read Courtney Walsh before and was happy to receive an advanced copy of this book.
This book is adorable! Rosie is chasing a dream that she is not sure whose dream it is. After numerous rejections in the theater world, she begins to send out her resume to everything she can. Rosie receives an offer to direct and be apart of the creative team for the production of Cinderella. But... Rosie did not read the job description before packing up and head to Wisconsin. Well she is quite surprised when she is taken to a retirement community and she is the only person on the creative team. Rosie transforms while in the community and as she begins to start figuring out what her dream really is. The "cast" of characters in this story are perfect. Rosie becomes interested in physical therapist in the community. Their story is so sweet! You will not be disappointed when you read this one! Thank you to NetGalley for allowing me an advanced copy of this.

I did not want this book to end. So much so, I cried at the end. This book is absolute perfection. Every page, every line, every word was wonderful. But I knew it would be with Walsh’s stellar writing. There is so much to love about this book. Walsh delivers the perfect amount of heart, humor, swoon, and so much more. Her books never disappoint.
Rosie’s journey is one of the best I’ve read in a long time. I loved how it took moving to Wisconsin to direct a play at a senior living community to give Rosie just what she needed to find herself and to realize her strengths. There are so many character gems in these pages. Rosie’s friends: Mia, Taylor, Marnie were so fun and sweet. Daisy was a doll. The Wisconsin troop of seniors were my favorites. Birdie, Connie, and Belinda to name a few but Arthur stole the show for me.
And don’t forget Booker. He will forever be the measurement of future book heroes. He was so great and he and Rosie were perfect together. I loved their “Friday” chats.
How this book comes together is magical and the events that lead to that ending, I won’t soon forget. (And don’t forget the author’s note.)
I received an ALC and ARC approval from the publisher. Huge thank you to them.

Courtney Walsh has written a delightful story worthy of an encore in “Everything’s Coming Up Rosie.” The story is filled with rich characters, delightfully quirky people, who all grow together and help Rosie grow and change and achieve her theatre dream. I love the setting of the story, and it makes me wish there were such a place as Sunset, because I would for sure go visit. I love that the younger characters glean so much wisdom from the older characters, and the older characters can even use a gentle nudge from the younger ones, too. The plot keeps moving and does not lag anywhere. Quick wit and humor are sprinkled throughout alongside deep emotions and decision making. Deep and abiding friendships shine throughout the plot, and what an encouragement that is to the reader, to be that kind of loyal friend and to see out friends who love you just the way God made you. I loved this book, and I highly recommend it. It is a fun, lighthearted read with a deep message of hope, embracing change, and looking at your dreams in a whole new way.

Add this to your summer reading list. It is a pure delight. The characters are likable (and relatable). It's a book where you just want everyone to get their happy ending. AND no disclaimers needed.

Put this rom-com in your summer beach bag! Readers looking for a super sweet romance are in for a real treat. This is such a charming and funny story, and it kept me turning the pages. Rose is relatable and did I mention charming? Booker is a great love interest for her. I liked following along as Rosie tries to improve her life and get back on track. The theater storyline is wonderful, and Walsh does a terrific job of including characters at various ages. There are some laugh-out-loud moments.
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for an advance e-galley; all opinions in my review are 100% my own.

“The words burrow down deep inside me and start to take root, and I hope I remember to water them because I really want to see what they grow.”
Rosie Waterman is a Midwest girl who moved to New York City with dreams of being an actress. About a decade later, and she is still waiting, working “acting adjacent” jobs to make ends meet. A rush of panic with bills to pay, she goes on a applications filling binge, and— while home for a friend’s baby shower— accepts the job, even though she basically forgot anything about it. She’s desperate though, so off Rosie goes to Door County and the Sunset Players.
I have been reading Courtney Walsh’s books for years, and they’re always a good read. You could easily see them as Hallmark movies, but they’re “meatier”. There’s depth to her characters and growth that I always love. Last year’s “The Happy Life of Isadora Bentley” fit more into the women’s fiction genre than romance, and “Coming Up Rosie” is a solid follow up to Isadora Bentley. I’m here for it! Don’t get me wrong— there’s still a sweet romance— and Booker is great, but this story is about Rosie’s growth.
Imposter syndrome. Being vulnerable. Friendship. Going after a dream. Pivoting when life changes. (“Pivoting isn’t quitting.”) Being present in the moment. Processing buried feelings. There are so many relatable points of Rosie’s story. And she’s such a likable FMC. You are rooting for her. And the secondary characters— the aforementioned Booker, Arthur, Connie, Daisy, Louie, Bertie, all the “cast”, and Rosie’s BFFs from childhood.
This was a great read!
Thank you, Thomas Nelson Fiction and NetGalley for the advanced copy to review!

A wonderful read!
This novel drew me in from the very first page and kept me hooked until the end. The characters were vibrant and relatable, the writing was engaging, and the story had just the right balance of heart and humor. Highly recommend!
Many thanks to NetGalley, the author, and the publisher for my ARC. All opinions are my own.

From start to finish, I was hooked. I was looking for something that felt like chick lit with a LOT of heart, small town vibes, and this delivered. I didn't feel like I was being preached to but there was something wholly good and inspiring in the message. of "how to find your purpose after your dreams change." This is for the girlies who love stories about reinvention!

Oh, Courtney, you have worked your magic once again. Everything’s Coming Up Rosie was charming and witty and down right adorable!
Rosie Waterman had big dreams, but those dreams just haven’t been working out for her. An aspiring actor, she is struggling to make ends meet, while her friends are all out there living life to the fullest. But she never lets on about the way things truly are, she is always playing a part. The friend with no problems, no disappointments, no worries. In an act of desperation, she applies to more jobs than she can count and luckily receives an offer that is a lifeline to her sinking spirits. Until she shows up and realizes that it is not the job she signed up for. With no other options and a stubborn will to succeed, Rosie digs in to produce a show for the ages—or actually the aged.
This story was absolutely wonderful! Courtney does such a fantastic job with character development and depth. You can’t help but fall in love with each one of them. And hope to have a friend or a family member as fun and sweet or endearing (read “occasionally curmudgeony”).
Rosie’s journey was reflective and eye opening. She learned so much about herself and what true contentment is. Plans can change, dreams can evolve, and happiness can be found in the most unexpected places. Rosie’s story was very relatable and relevant.
Enjoyed this one immensely and if you loved Isadora then you’re sure to love this one.
Thank you NetGalley and Thomas Nelson for the advanced copy. All opinions at my own.

Everything's Coming Up Rosie--the title is also a summary of the conclusion in the best possible way. Just like what we've come to expect from a Courtney Walsh novel, this story delivered in the same delightful way.
We meet the MMC when Rosie first arrives in Door County, Wisconsin. I was immediately "shipping" them and found Booker to be just as endearing as all the resident women did. :) We, as readers, put the pieces together faster than Rosie that she has agreed to a stint working as a play director in a retirement community. (It was honestly surprising how long it took Rosie to figure this out or question things more and I'm not sure why Booker seemed to be coy about it and not just verify she knew where she was when she was asking strange questions.)
I loved Rosie's attitude throughout the book and we see her grow as a human as she evaluates her priorities and what she really loves about the ways she's been spending her life. She doesn't let the grumps bring her down. I also loved her friendships with the seniors and how they nurtured and supported her (and she them.)
The slow burn between Rosie and Booker was *chefs kiss* and the way I was tearing up at the end had me wondering what kind of happily ever after we would get. Don't worry, it's an awesome ending for all the characters.
I recommend this for women's fiction fans and those who love slow burn closed door romances.
Thank you to NetGalley and Thomas Nelson for this ARC in exchange for my honest review. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Wow! What an awesome story. Rosie's journey of self-discovery, facing her fears, acknowledging her dreams, opening her heart again is beautiful, funny, kirky and emotional. The side characters are wonderful and the story really touch your heart. The audiobook with Jorjeana Maries makes an amazing story in an incredible one. Thanks to NetGalley for the ALC. This is my honest review

This was such a fun read, full of humor and heart! Courtney Walsh has such a talent for pulling you right into the world of the main character. When Rosie lost her job and her apartment I felt just as upset as she did, and easily understood how she could take a job so far removed from her “original” dream jobs. Of course, when Rosie finds out what her new job really is…lots of laughs as the story unfolds!
Rosie’s story is a story about finding her place in the world, and a story about unearthing your dreams in places you may have never expected to find them. Of course it’s a love story too (Booker is just as supportive and charming as he is funny), but at its core it’s a story of friendship, and how your friends will support you if you only just ask.
I definitely recommend this book, especially if you love a romance book with a lot of character development and humor!

I loved the unique setting of this story I won’t specifiy here because I feel it's better discovering it on your own. The funny, quirky, and loud personality of Rosie was so enjoyable. Booker is cool, suave, and handsome popularity. The many supporting characters were a great addition. Rosie goes on a self-discovery journey to find out who she really is and what she wants to be in life. There are no swears or alcohol and level 1 kisses only. Dual POV. I listened to the audio and the narrator was easy to understand and enjoyable to listen to. I received a complimentary copy of this book from @netgalley and @thomasnelsonfiction. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

This book is full of charm, humour, and sweet moments of growth. If you’ve ever felt stuck or unsure of your path, Rosie’s journey might just speak to you. A cozy, feel-good read about second chances and the magic of community.

A charming blend of witty banter, quirky characters, and heartwarming moments, Everything’s Coming Up Rosie kept me laughing and smiling throughout the book. Rosie’s nervous chatter, deadpan dry humor, and touching care for the people around her made for such an entertaining read, while her insecurities and struggles were so relatable. I found myself cheering her on and seeing a little bit of my younger self in her as the story went on.
While the romance in Everything’s Coming Up Rosie is there, it’s not the only focus of the story., I absolutely love how Courtney Walsh adds rich character development and a full cast of personalities to round out her books. Don’t get me wrong. The romance storyline exists, and Booker delivers all the sweetness and swoon, However, Rosie’s personal growth is the center of the book, and that was such a sweet breath of fresh air for me. Also, the cast of mature counterparts, especially Arthur and Bertie, warmed my heart and had me rolling with their antics and snark.
Courtney Walsh’s books have been consistent favorites of mine, and Everything’s Coming Up Rosie is another win! Both the young and young-at-heart will love this book! Preorder it now, or grab it when it releases on June 10th!

When Rosie loses her job and apartment in the same day, you are left wondering what she will do next with her life. Suddenly she is offered a job directing a production of Cinderella that may not be what she originally thought. Discovering this twist was SO fun and had me giggling. I loved watching Rosie rise to the challenge. Sometimes, life doesn't go the way we expect but we shouldn't give up, and that was exactly what Rosie discovered!
Thank you Netgalley for an advanced copy.

“ I do feel deeply, and I don’t want to feel deeply. Because when I let it all in, it hurts.”
I think most people have felt this at one point or another. I really connected with Rosie. Living her life to fulfill expectations instead of living for the joy of living.
This was such a lovely book. Full of the most amazing people that you wish you knew in real life.
Watching Rosie’s growth really made me examine things I do and don’t do and the why’s behind that.
Definitely a 5+ star read for me.
I received this book as an arc but all thoughts are my own.

I can’t believe I was ever hesitant to read this book because it turned out to be one of my absolute favorite stories! Everything, from the characters to the plot, was absolutely spot-on! I’m so glad I overlooked my initial hesitations and tried out this book, because otherwise I would have missed out on one amazing story. Don’t be like me—go read this book as soon as it’s available!
Rosie’s sense of humor had me laughing out loud more than once 🤭 She was inherently awkward and, yet, so much fun—Rosie definitely had a knack for getting into the most comical of situations. I’d definitely want to be her friend in real life if she existed outside of her book! Oh, and I can’t forget her friends—I’d love to be a part of their friend group too!
Mmm, Booker was an absolute dreamboat and the perfect counterpart to Rosie! I love the way he went along with her wackiness during their first meeting—he was such a sweetheart. Booker was so good for Rosie in numerous ways—especially in helping her figure out her life. I enjoyed all of their many conversations and amusing incidents (the golf cart and mud debacle, the chipmunk in the house, date setup by Bertie, etc.).
Every single character in this book worked to make this such an amazing book! I didn’t dislike a single one of them, as they were all so highly entertaining and lovable—even when they tried to be grouchy. The elderly residents at Sunset Hills were definitely some of my favorites (Arthur, I’m looking at you) 😆 Watching them audition for the show was absolutely hilarious! I love that the other young people at Sunset Hills quickly befriended Rosie and welcomed her into their circle—they were exactly what she needed, and she was exactly what they needed ♥️

"It is the hard stuff that makes the good stuff so much sweeter."
Rosie has always dreamed of being a famous actor ever since she graduated. But seven years later, she’s uncertain—about her future, her talent, and even herself. With no home and no direction, she returns to her hometown for the first time in years. But there’s a catch: Rosie can’t bear to tell her friends the truth—that she feels like a failure and has nothing to show for all this time. So, she takes on the role of a lifetime—pretending everything is fine.
What she doesn’t expect? A surprise job offer that turns her summer upside down: directing a production of Cinderella at a retirement community—with an all-senior cast!
This book was such a joy from start to finish. It made me smile, gave me hope, and reminded me to believe in dreams again. Rosie's character development was so beautifully done—watching her perspective evolve was powerful. Dreams can shift, change, and grow—and that doesn’t make you a failure. That’s just life, full of unexpected twists.
And of course, I have to mention the romance. Her connection with Booker Hayes was sweet, thoughtful, and deeply emotional. Even though it’s a closed-door romance, I didn’t feel like anything was missing. The intimacy, the trust, the emotional bond—it was all there, and it was beautiful.
If you’re looking for a heartfelt, cozy read with charm, second chances, and a tender romance—this one's for you.
"Sometimes dreams shift and change and grow, and changing along with them isn't failing. Pivoting isn't quitting. Happiness isn't linear, and seeking it isn't selfish."

Xoxo😘

This was a fun one. I had to laugh at several awkward situations that Rosie got herself into. She was quirky and fun- the type of person I would love to hang out with.
I loved getting to know all the residents of the retirement community- they each added so much to the story. My only complaint is the name Booker (ugh I hated it- made me think they were saying booger)
I enjoyed the plot and loved that it was a romantic story but it was also wholesome. Can’t wait to read more from this author.
I read this book and then got to listened to it on audio and the narrator did a fantastic job. It was well done and easy to listen to.

My Quick Takes:
- 5/5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
- Language 🤐 none
- Spice ❤️🔥 kisses only
- Content 🤔 parental abandonment
For anyone who is chasing after a seemingly unattainable dream, or has grieved a dream they had to let go, this book is for you. Rosie’s struggles and insecurities and half truths are all so relatable. I could see myself in pieces of her struggle.
This is a closed-door romance but leans a bit more toward women’s fiction. The plot focuses more on the struggles and character development of the female main character with the romantic interest being secondary. There was plenty of witty banter and flirty, which I loved. I usually don’t lean toward women fiction but Rosie was so relatable that I was quickly pulled into her sphere.
Absolutely recommend this book to anyone looking for a summer read!

Everything’s Coming Up Rosie follows Rosie Waterman, a woman with a big dream: to become a working actor. But life doesn’t seem to be following the script. When she loses both her apartment and her job in one day, she does what Rosie does best—throws herself back into the world, chasing the next opportunity. But how do you let go of a dream that’s rooted in your soul?
This book hurt me in the best way. It made me giggle, tear up, laugh out loud, and want to break into song. It stirred up something deep—belief in dreams, love, and the kind of hope that feels like sunlight after rain.
My favorite characters? Rosie, of course. Plus her amazing friends, a wonderfully complex teenager, a swoon-worthy love interest, and a delightfully grumpy old man.
Why am I being a little vague? Because this is a story you need to experience for yourself. Trust me, it’s worth it.
Also the end is amazing.
Disclaimer: I received an ARC of this book via NetGalley, but that doesn’t affect my review. I don’t sugarcoat my opinions—I only recommend the stories that genuinely touch my heart.

Everything is Coming Up Rosie is a perfect summer rom-com. Rosie is still young(ish) and determined to pursue her dream of acting. Multiple rejections and a trip home are starting to uncover the layer of fear and uncertainty she’s been able to hold off. Seeing her best friends navigate their current season in life has her wondering if she has what it takes to make it after all. I love that in her despair she accepted a job, without reading the fine print, and shows up to find the unexpected. It is the unexpected that wakes her up out of her autoplay stupor though and allows her to start seeing things through a new lens. The supporting characters, especially a pretty cool physical therapist who happens to think her arrival is just what the community needs, are a great blend of personalities. Together, they provide opportunities of growth, seeking truth, having fun, taking risks, finding and tearing down her barriers, and re-discovering her why. I loved the support from her lifelong besties as well as all the new friends, of all ages, she encounters all the way. While there are some serious moments of self-reflection, there are also plenty of laughable moments and opportunities to be present and smile.
I received a complimentary copy from the publisher via NetGalley and all opinions expressed are solely my own, freely given.

I couldn’t put this book down! I am not a musical theatre kid and can’t carry a tune or act to save my life but I love watching theatre.
I had the option to have the ebook and the audiobook and the narration paired with reading was an incredible experience. It truly felt like I was emerged in the book. And with the characters. I loved the crossover with her hockey books. But it wasn’t in a way where you need to read them first. Just if you have read them you would appreciate the nod to them.
A big thank you to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for both copies of the book!

This book was a wonderful journey with Rosie as she discovers who she is and what she really wants. She ends up in a place she doesn’t expect, and realizes that’s exactly where she’s supposed to be! I loved her interactions with all of the other characters along with her romance with Booker. I absolutely loved watching her friendship with curmudgeonly Arthur develop along with the way she poured into and helped Dylan just by choosing to give her a chance.
My only frustration with this book is that it’s set in Door County, one of my favorite places on earth, but there is nothing Door County about it. None of the towns are mentioned or visited, and Lake Michigan isn’t visited or mentioned once! Why?! Ok rant over :) This made me sad but couldn’t affect my rating because the story was wonderful.
Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for the advanced copy of this book. All thoughts are my own!

This was my first Courtney Walsh book, but certainly not my last. Everything's Coming Up Rosie is a heartwarming story about a young woman who suddenly comes face-to-face with an uncertain future and how she navigates through everything thrown her way. To start getting back on her feet, Rosie takes a trip back home and eventually realizes it may be the start over she needed. Rosie is a very relatable character that you can quickly form an attachment too. Walsh did a great job bringing her characters to life. A must read.

I love Courtney Walsh books. Her indie romances give me butterflies every time and I want to reread them immediately but her traditionally published novels are different. I love them equally but they inspire me in an entirely different way. They make me want to take a step outside of my carefully curated bubble. They make me want to try something new—grow and stretch. I feel like her books change me and it is one hundred percent lovely. I always tell people I don't read to become a better person, I read to be entertained, so imagine my delight when I can unintentionally do both.
So, with all that in mind, if you like theater, old people, romance, good guys—seriously, all the green flags— life long friends, growth and hilarious side characters, read this book!

I SCREAMED when I got this in the mail! Thank you so much @thomasnelson for the #gifted copy! 𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠’𝐬 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐔𝐩 𝐑𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐞 is out June 10th.
Where do I begin? As usual, Courtney Walsh has knocked this one out of the park! I absolutely loved every single character, especially grumpy Arthur - he had my heart. Rosie’s best friends were all fabulous! I loved the setting - a beautiful retirement community. It seems out of the ordinary, but it totally works!! What won my heart the most with this one was the theme that our dreams don’t necessarily change but the ways in which they play out might, and that is completely ok.

Once again, Courtney walsh hits it absolutely out of the park...she is the best. Her books make me reflect, laugh, dream, and hope. This one is no different, absolutely beautiful story, relatable and loveable characters, an exciting and fast moving plot, and perfect writing that you get lost in. I found myself dreaming about it all day til I could read at night...the characters became my friends. Home run all the way!!

all Rosie ever wanted to be was an actor. but things are not going well for her, she loses her job and her apartment on the same day. she returns home to find her friends have moved on to marriage and babies. will she decide to give up acting? good story

Another fabulous book from Courtney Walsh! A heartwarming story of a girl who was down on her luck and thought she was behind.....only to find out she was right where she needed to be! This book is filled with feel-good moments, a sprinkle of romance, and an emotional ending that had me teary eyed and feeling all the feels.

Book Review: Everything’s Coming Up Rosie by Courtney Walsh
“This is community. This is the adventure. It’s not traveling or seeing the world—or starring in a huge show on Broadway. It’s simpler than that. It’s people. It’s always been people.”
Everything’s Coming Up Rosie is one of those rare books that grabs you from the first page and doesn’t let go. I was hooked immediately. Courtney Welch has a gift for crafting characters so vivid and real that by the time the book ends, you genuinely miss them—as if you’ve just said goodbye to close friends.
Rosie, in particular, stood out to me. She’s incredibly relatable. Her mishaps, her fears, her worries about failure—these are all things I’ve felt myself while navigating adulthood. Walsh captures the uncertainty and vulnerability of growing up so authentically, it’s impossible not to see parts of yourself in Rosie. She’s flawed, lovable, and genuine—a character that makes you feel seen.
At its core, this book isn’t just about finding your place in the world—it’s about finding your people. Welch reminds us that the real adventure in life is connection, and Everything’s Coming Up Rosie delivers that message beautifully.

This is everything I look for in a book. An uplifiting story with depth, emotion and a little self-reflection along the way. I went from laughter to tears and back again.
This book has such a full cast of wonderful characters. I could picture them all.
Courtney Walsh is a new-to-me author but I will be looking up her other books now.

“Sometimes what you think you want and what you actually want turn out to be different things” Rosie Waterman’s big dream is to be a be a working actor. But when that does not seem to be working, she takes a summer job at a regional theater.
Courtney Walsh is back with wholesome late coming of age story. I loved the cast of characters, especially the physical therapist representation. I also appreciated and connected with the theme that it is not too late to redefine what you really want in life or maybe rethinking how to achieve your goals. I made a pretty significant career change at 42, moving from a physical therapist to healthcare IT. I think this book highlights the struggle that it takes to reframe your goals and make a change. This is a fun impactful read.

I absolutely adored this book! From start to finish, Everything’s Coming Up Rosie had me completely hooked. The characters were so full of heart and personality—I felt like I truly knew them. There’s such a beautiful depth to their emotional journeys, and the growth they each experience felt real and rewarding.
The love story was tender, heartfelt, and swoony in all the right ways. It made me laugh, it made me cry, and most of all, it made me feel. I also have to give a special shoutout to the older characters—they were charming, hilarious, and added so much warmth and wisdom to the story.
This book was the perfect blend of humor, heart, and healing. It’s one of those stories that stays with you long after you’ve turned the last page.
Everything’s Coming Up Rosie is an absolute gem.

OVERALL STAR RATING: 5/5
CLEAN RATING: 5/5
The plot was unique, the characters were AMAZING and overall, just an incredible balance of humor and heart. One of my favorite things is sassy elderly characters and this book had a handful!
Rosie Waterman wanted to be a star, but at this point in her life, the only thing she’s really nailed is the part of struggling actress. She’s embarrassed at her lack of accomplishments and although she has a very tight knit group of girlfriends, she tends to exaggerate her career journey. She doesn’t want to be labeled a failure but not being 100% honest and authentic with her friends is also taking a toll on her.
Desperate for work, Rosie leaves her home in New York and accepts a summer internship to lead a theatre group in Wisconsin. She’s excited and impressed when she sees the grounds where the theatre is located. Sunset Hills is gorgeous and comes with free room and board in the coziest little cottage. Then the reality hits her – this gorgeous campus is a RETIREMENT community! She’s surrounded by old people…old people who will be cast and starring in the play she’s to direct! NOT exactly the dream she thought she had signed up for.
Of course, these senior citizens are going to keep you highly entertained. Plus, there might just be a little love interest between Rosie and one of the other staff members who is more appropriately aged. Lol I loved that this story went deep. Lighthearted in some parts, but also very heartfelt regarding finding your true self, accepting what life offers and most importantly, being authentically YOU! A beautiful and inspiring story.
I received a complimentary copy of this book via NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

I loved it! After a few deeper, more emotional reads, Everything’s Coming Up Rosie was exactly what I needed.
I couldn’t put it down. I adored these characters—all of them—even the salty, somewhat grumpy ones. The retirement community setting was such a fun and refreshing backdrop, and I loved how everyone came together to stage a production of Cinderella with Rosie as their director— a young aspiring actress who, by her standards, isn’t quite at rock bottom, but at “rock-bottom adjacent.”
The way Rosie ended up in a retirement community directing a cast made up entirely of senior citizens had me grinning, and I loved even more how they poured into her—especially the slightly grouchy but wildly talented theatre legend (who I completely pictured as Ed Asner).
Courtney Walsh’s signature humor and witty banter shine here. If you enjoyed The Summer of Yes, The Happy Life of Isadora Bentley, or My Phony Valentine, I think you’ll love visiting the vibrant world of the Sunset Players. The residents, some instantly delightful and others who grow on you, along with the staff and, of course, Booker and Rosie, make this story so memorable—especially Booker and Rosie, who have quickly become my new favorite rom-com couple!
With a quirky but lovable FMC, a funny and honorable MMC, and a cast of unforgettable side characters, Everything’s Coming Up Rosie is a total delight—perfect for summer or anytime you need a good pick-me-up.
🌸 A QUICK NOTE: Even though it’s from a Christian publisher, the story doesn’t include any faith elements. And while there are some spicy undertones, the romance is clean.
✨ Thank you, @netgalley and @tnzgift, for the gifted eARC in exchange for my honest review.

Booker might just take the cake for the title "book boyfriend". I loved this book so much. The ending ?!?!?!? it gets all the stars! Courtney Walsh is ;perfect!

Once again, Courtney wrote a book that has my heart. 💜 The depth of Rosie’s character (AND the side characters) is insane. Rosie thinks she’s a failure and can’t seem to tell anyone how she feels. She spirals within her own head a lot…BUT…Booker. 😍 He is the most patient, wonderful, caring MMC I’ve read in awhile. He has his own self doubt that he doesn’t want to share…except eventually with Rosie. They are perfect for one another and I wish this book never ende. They 3rd act “conflict” was believable and yet not crushing for me as the reader.

Like every other Courtney Walsh book I've read, I enjoyed every moment in this story. Rosie and Booker were adorable and the cast of octogenarians surrounding them only made the entire story that much better.
I loved watching Rosie come into her own alongside Dylan, Daisy, Arthur, Bertie, and all the other side characters participating in the the play.
This is a perfect read for the summer, especially if you love the theater, romances that go deeper, and an amazing cast of characters.

So cute! I love courtney walsh books and this did not disappoint. If you need a fun summer romance I highly recommend.

Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC of Everything's Coming Up Rosie by Courtney Walsh. OH HOW I LOVED this book. I was an easy read, swoony but with no spice. Walsh created great characters with tons of heart that you just could not help but to root for. This is everything I was looking for in a rom-com.

Sigh… loved this one! All the feels! I shouldn’t have been surprised because The Summer of Yes and Isadora Bentley are two of my favorites but I just loved this one! It sucked me in so fast and even made me think theatre sounded fun and I am not an actor nor do I have any desire to do theatre in any form- I took a class in jr high with my best friend but we quickly volunteered for the sound/lights and I was much happier there 😅
Rosie is an actor living in New York but life isn’t turning out quite the way she imagined and she ends up broke and homeless and takes a job out of desperation to direct a play at Sunset Hills but when she shows up to work she realizes it was not what she was expecting and she really should have read the job description before accepting. But maybe she is suppose to be there for a reason…
I loved the underlying message in this book so so much! It’s okay for dreams to change. A lot of the time they change for the better- because we change and isn’t it great because man when I was a teenager I made some pretty awful choices and I am so glad not everything in my life ended up the way I wanted it to back then.
I loved all the side characters and residents of sunset hills- Aurthur- he was such a gem- all gruff on the outside but man there were a few scenes with him that just made me cry.
Belinda- she was a feisty one and I equally loved her character and wanted to shake some sense into her.
Daisy- she was the perfect roommate for Rosie
Booker- in Rosie’s words he isn’t perfect but maybe he is perfect for her- seriously he was 👌🏼 I mean a physical therapist for a retirement community- can it get any cuter?
Rosie- she had some struggles and I just wanted her to be honest with her friends and family and she just kept digging herself deeper and then she meets Booker and he just cracks into her protective shell and all the residents of Sunset Hills just really do a number on her and help her to find joy in her life again.
And to the Author I loved your note at the end- I’m sure glad you let your dreams change and that we all get to benefit from your beautiful stories ❤️

Oh this book was amazing! The story is all about a girl named Rosie, an aspiring actor. When she hits rock bottom, she is surprised with a job offer she doesn’t expect. I think what I loved about this book so much was that I could see the authors experience seeping through the book. And it made it all the more enjoyable!
Favorite aspects:
- A muddy golf cart
- Unexpected friends
- Surprise mentor
- Cross Generational Connection
- Retirement community quirks
- Finding your dream and being willing to adjust the dream

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the advance copy of this book. A review was not required.

Anything that @courtneywalsh writes I’ll read! I love her writing style and I love that I can go into her stories knowing that there’s a HEA! I loved the character growth in this story and I loved the where Rosie works! 💛 watching her give her best efforts in this situation was so sweet and seeing her fall in love with her new work friends was amazing! 💛

If you want to feel like you’ve stepped into a funny romcom, Everything’s Coming Up Rosie is the book for you! It has the sweet vibes of summer, along with plenty of laughs.
Rosie doesn’t want her friends to know she’s not as successful at acting as they think. In fact, she’s pretty much a failure. Then, a dream job working in a summer theater pops in her inbox. Finally, a job that pays! When Rosie learns the job is actually working with elderly people in a retirement community, she nearly gives up. But maybe this summer detour will lead to a future she never expected.
I love Courtney Walsh, and knowing that she and her husband own a theater and produce shows (plays? musicals?) made this book even more special.
Not only is Everything’s Coming Up Rosie a feel-good summer novel, it is laugh out loud funny. Rosie is a delightful character who makes you wish she was real so you can be friends. I even found myself wishing I could move to the Sunnyside Retirement Community! The banter between Rosie and Booker is the best, and I love the low-angst romance. There are so many other great side characters, like Devon and Arthur, that remind us that everyone has a story, and it might not be what we expect.
Definitely add this book to your summer TBR if you like stories that make you feel happy while reminding you of the importance of chasing your dreams. It’s sure to be a new favorite!
I received a copy of this book through NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

As I started this book, I wasn't sure if it was a good fit for me but as it continued, I was drawn into Rosie's story. She considers herself a failure, a down and out actor living in NYC, but playing positive and upbeat for her mom and friends. She takes a job in a small town Wisconsin theatre working with a creative team for the play Cinderella out of desperation. What she didn't pay attention to was it is for a retirement community and she IS the creative team and director with mostly volunteers. It was such a sweet read as Rosie grows and learns so much about herself from the people, a sense of closeness and community and even love with a hunky physical therapist for the community. This is a great read with an inspiring ending and a different Rosie.
I received a copy in exchange for an honest review. These are my thoughts.

Has Courtney written something to rival the greatness of her book The Happy Life of Isadora Bentley? I think she may have. This was amazing.
This was a cosy read, full of heart and hilarity. This is a book about finding happiness wherever you are, facing your feelings, pivoting your dreams, and being willing to be open with others. Rosie learnt a truth in this story, that we're all a bit of a mess. Her emotional journey was raw and relatable.
Not even a quarter of the way in, I already loved Rosie so much. She is braver than I am and does things that I would never do (I'd much prefer to be a stage hand), but I found so many ways to relate to her emotionally. I loved her quirks, her quick banter, and the hilarious situations she got herself into.
I loved the way that Booker slowly made his way into Rosie's heart, encouraging her to open up. He was a wonderful MMC to have opposite Rosie. He had almost all the female characters in the book swooning over him, and for good reason!
You can see Courtney's love of theatre come through in this book. I loved all the funny antics of 'theatre people'. The cast of characters with big personalities made this book fuller and richer, but I won't say much about them because I don't want to ruin the surprise.
Tropes:
*finding happiness
*strangers to lovers
*following your dreams
*workplace romance
*honesty
*matchmaking grandmother
*found family
*single POV
Content warning: parental abandonment (past)
Romance level: 3 (kissing, light to moderate)
Thank you to Thomas Nelson and Courtney Walsh for a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

I'm not going to lie. I wasn't expecting much from this book, but I was shocked that I enjoyed it so much. I have read a few books by Catherine Walsh, and when I was applying for the ARC copy of Everything's Coming Up Rosie, I thought they were the same author. Obviously, that is not the case. I do have a few books on my TBR from Courtney Walsh, I just haven't gotten to them. I usually prefer a spicy book over closed door romance and, while I do read some, they are few and far between. However, I received this book to read and review, and, because Courtney has been on my TBR for a few months now with other books, I decided to give it a try.
Again, this is not my go-to type of book, so while I greatly enjoyed it, for me it's a one-and-done. It's a feel-good, light comedy. I loved Rosie's quirky and weird personality, and I was laughing out loud during so many moments that were funny and endearing. Sunset Hills Retirement Community felt like it was inspired by the movie Dirty Dancing. Not the plot or anything, but the location. I kept picturing Rosie, Daisy, Louise, and Booker moving around those camp-style cabin/cottages, and I was just waiting for someone to carry a watermelon.
Booker, man I fell for Booker immediately. I really enjoyed his easy-going flirting with Rosie. Daisy was a little wild and out there and I could just picture her in my mind during the bar scene where she was dancing. I loved how Dylan came out of her shell and moved past that angsty teenager to a caring young adult that just needed to be understood. The entire community that Rosie met and fell in love with at the retirement community was a perfect cast for both Cinderella and this book. The one that stole my heart was Arthur.
Oh, I definitely recommend this book for a quick read. It's quirky and funny and makes you feel all the feels...you'll want to kick your feet and be giddy.
Thank you to NetGalley for an opportunity to review this book.

Oh Courtney Walsh... you did it again and why am I even surprised??? What a wonderful, sweet story that I am so sad now that it is over!
Everything's Coming Up Rosie follows our star, Rosie (Ro to her friends). She is a struggling actor who left home to make it big in New York, but she's afraid to tell all her people back home just how hard this acting life is - especially when her group of friends all seem to have life together and are thriving! So, she applies to many jobs, so many and so quickly that she doesn't read the job descriptions very well. Suddenly she finds herself accepting a position to join the creative team for the production of Cinderella!...... However, it isn't at all what she expects. But, it quite possibly could be the best thing that ever happens to her.
This story is full of laughter, charm, and with just enough depth of emotions that it easily gets a 5 star rating! Courtney Walsh knows how to give us the people we need through her cast of characters. All of them are so lovable, so believable, and so relatable!
A big thank you to NetGalley and Thomas Nelson for this ebook. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I absolutely adored this book!
Courtney Walsh has become a must read author for me with her ability to create loveable characters, swoony romance, and well-crafted and engaging storylines.
I loved Rosie and her journey of self discovery, and the sweet romance between Booker and Rosie was delightfully swoony. However, what made this story truly shine was the cast of endearingly colorful side characters. The whole ensemble brought a smile to my face. This book was a joy to read from beginning to end.
I had the opportunity to listen to the audiobook after reading this and it did not disappoint!
The narrator truly brought this story to life. Her delivery was emotive and engaging, her pacing was spot on, and I found myself able to get lost in the story while listening.
I highly recommend this book in either format!
*Thank you to NetGalley and Thomas Nelson Fiction for the ARC and to NetGalley and Thomas Nelson & Zondervan Fiction Audio for the ALC. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Everything's Coming Up Rosie is a charming and irresistible story that shows you're never to old follow your dreams. Rosie is stuck and tired of feeling like she's failing at her broadway dreams. When she gets an offer to direct a production of Cinderella, she jumps at the chance to prove she can do it. There's a catch- when she get's there she realizes that this particular production is for a retirement community. Rosie throws herself into the production and learns about herself in the process. I loved this story! The side characters were wonderful and the chemistry was great.

Thank you NetGalley and publisher for this ARC publication for an honest review.
This was the perfect summer read! I love Courtney Walsh and her sweet, fun romances. This one had it all...great heroine (Rosie), swoony book boyfriend (Booker), quirky cast of senior citizens (and one teenager!) and great supportive friends. This book made me so giddy... It is one of those books that make you smile and giggle out loud. The banter was great not only between the romantic leads, but within the whole community. So much snark and I loved every minute! And the ending was chef kiss...:)
5 stars

Courtney Walsh did it again! She is an automatic read for me, and this did not disappoint. The rom-com was so fun to read, and doesn’t have the spice that most do…so it’s great for pretty much anyone. This is a wholesome story of overcoming your fears / challenges, working hard for things, and self-discovery, especially when faced with unexpected challenges.

A thousand stars!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
THIS BOOK IS AMAZING. 😍😍😍
I’ve been a big Courtney Walsh fan for several years and adore her! Her writing is charming and endearing while also deeply meaningful. She knows how to tell a good story!
To know Courtney is to know her passion for theatre—and this was a love letter to the theatre! How cool is that?!
Rosie was… herself! She’s quirky yet endearing, a proficient actor who struggles with vulnerability, feeling like a failure but actually incredibly brave. She was real and nuanced, and I loved her for it. Fans of Penelope Edgewood from Pepper Basham’s Positively Penelope will be enchanted by this heroine!!
I laughed till it hurt so many times. In fact, I read part of this in the waiting room at the doctors and was silently shaking in hysterics. 😂 That’s why I can’t read in public—my facial expressions are too pronounced. But I couldn’t put the book down!
And then I had to swipe away some tears because for all the giggles, matchmaking seniors, mishaps, hilarious side characters, and swoony adorable romance (I’m Booker & Rosie’s biggest fan 🙌🏻🙌🏻), there was real depth to the book. Arthur’s wisdom and wisecracks made him a favourite, and Rosie’s journey of discovering how dreams change and adapt—a new dream isn’t a failure, it’s a learning curve—hit me hard. 🥹
This might be my new top favourite Courtney Walsh book! 🤭
*Thank you to NetGalley, the author, and the publisher for the complimentary copy of this book. I was not required to write a positive review. These are my honest thoughts and opinions.

I loved this book.
Rosie is down on her luck. She's having a tough time making it as an actress. She's auditioned over and over, and she gets only small parts, or parts in shows that close quickly, like the last major role she had. She's behind in her rent - in a place where she has no friends, only roommates. Rosie has wonderful friends from her earlier years and she is happy to have a get together with them, but they are all "making it." She is considering moving back to her partially-estranged mother's. That's when an offer comes in to be a creative director at a regional theater. Only it's not really what she was hoping it would be once she gets there.
The book changes tone several times. At first, Rosie feels desperation and perhaps envy. Then she's elated to have a job, stunned when she learns what it is. But this part of the book is so funny, I was laughing out loud and giggling to myself. Then she starts to dig deep and she exudes confidence, building up her team, even if she's not exactly feeling it herself. Struggles, disaster, and the beginning of love. But is this what she really, really wants for herself? She questions her motivation and her goals, ultimately making the decision that is right for herself.
I so enjoyed this book. I had both the e-book and the audio. The narrator was perfect for this book. Her emotions were spot on. Be sure to read the author's note. It's an interesting look into her background, some of which is part of Rosie.

this review will contain spoilers. I loved this book. I loved thinking about how we can have our dreams and realize their are different ways to get there. Life is a journey and not everyone can take the same path. I loved the characters and I loved how good the friendships were. Despite her friends knowing something was wrong, they kept being supportive and then shared that their lives aren't perfect either. We all have something that is hard for us.
I plan to share this title on my instagram near the publication date. I am excited to share that courtney walsh is becoming an autobuy author for me. I have been so impressed with how deep her stories are.

Loved, loved, loved! This book is a heartfelt hug about finding yourself, rekindling your passion, embracing your weird and the evolution of reimagining your dreams. Life doesn’t always go as expected. It’s hard, it’s messy but it’s also beautiful, and just the way it’s meant to be. I loved the multi generation aspect of this book, and the lessons & guidance they gave the FMC. Such a great book with the best message.

Rosie is moving home after 7 long years, she’s saying farewell to NYC. She gave it her best and she failed, having a career in theater was hard. Now it’s time to face the music and head home, but when she gets there all of her friends seemed to be thriving. So there was no way she could confide in them that her dream failed.
Then an offer letter came through her email for a summer role. It offered a god salary, onsite lodging with food, and started immediately. So she instantly said yes not realizing what she signed up for….
When she arrived, she soon realized she may be in over her head. She was directing a production of Cinderella but her cast was SENIORS! This role was to work at a retirement community and help them save their theater. She was a failure how was she suppose to be good at this.
But the residents and a handsome physical therapist will be by her side through it all. This summer will be a whirlwind full of fun, mud, chipmunks, show tunes, drama, romance, and personal growth.

Everything’s Coming Up Rosie is labeled as a romance. In my opinion, that is the wrong way to classify this novel. While romance is included, it isn’t the story’s primary focus. So, how would I classify it? What’s wrong with calling it a contemporary? It’s a fun read that focuses on self-discovery and personal growth.
The cast of characters in Everything’s Coming Up Rosie is a group of people I would love to be surrounded by daily. Connie flits from one thing to another without sharing all the needed information. Arthur is such a curmudgeon, with a heart of gold underneath it all. Rosie’s childhood friend group is the kind of friends we all deserve to have.
One thing I wish had been discussed a bit more was Rosie’s reaction when she learned who the theater group members were. Was it just because it wasn’t what she expected? Or is there more to the story?
I wish we had gotten to know Rosie’s mom more so that we could better understand their relationship. While Rosie opens up about her feelings, I’m not 100% sure she gets her healing arc.
Who do I think would enjoy reading Everything’s Coming Up Rosie? Do you enjoy reading books full of quirky characters? What about ones where the main character is on a journey of self-discovery? Or a book that makes you smile, laugh, and maybe even reconsider your personal life journey? If you answered yes to any of these questions, walk to your preferred bookstore and get the book. If you answered yes to all of these questions, then run! I promise, you won’t be disappointed.

“It’s amazing what you discover if you hold the dream loosely.”
Rosie Waterman is a deep thinker and a deep feeler. She doesn’t know what to do with all of that, so she acts. It’s her career—attempted career. And it’s exactly what she does when she leaves behind her dream of acting in New York to visit her hometown and see her friends. She can’t let anyone know she’s a failure. If you are like me and are uncomfortable with the lying-because-you-are-embarrassed-about-your-life trope, keep reading. Rosie gets a summer job on the creative team for a production of Cinderella in upstate Wisconsin. She doesn’t do her homework and is in for a big surprise—starting with the Scott-Eastwood-Glen-Powell-looking man who meets her at the bus station.
Booker Hayes sees right through Rosie’s act, and he likes what he sees.
“Yep. I knew it,” he says.
“Knew what?”
“Kissing you would be amazing.”
I draw my eyes to his. “Oh…you’ve thought about it?
“Not a ton,” he says with a flirty shrug.
“Only every single day since I picked you up at the bus station.”
Rosie and Booker’s banter kept me laughing. Rosie’s transformation to finding her real self while helping others find their own made me cry. Several times. Mostly happy tears. This is not normal for me. In addition to the fun, delightful romance, my heart was stolen by a troubled teenage girl who just needed a place to belong and a grumpy old man who needed to be seen.
Courtney has written another fantastic feel-good story with a full cast of characters who make you feel a part of their community. I loved reading this with the knowledge that theatre is a big part of Courtney’s life. This book just makes you happy.
Thank you to Courtney Walsh and NetGalley for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
Everything's Coming Up Rosie is available June 10th.

I have never met a Courtney Walsh book I didn't love and this is such a lovely addition to her books! I loved the characters. The surprising and quirky setting. The fun theater lingo as Rosie directs Cinderella. And the beautiful ending. This book will make you believe in love, dreaming big, and second chances.
At the heart of this story are relationships. Courtney does such a beautiful job creating relatable and engaging characters. I love seeing how these characters start as strangers and quickly become as close as family. Rosie has had a hard few years and doesn't feel connected to those she loves most. She feels like she's failed in her career and isn't achieving her dreams. And then she comes to Wisconsin. I loved the ways she connects with her 3 besties (such a fantastic friend group!!), the residents and staff especially with Daisy, Dylan, Arthur and Bertie. Daisy is sunshine personified. I loved how quickly she accepts Rosie and supports her. Dylan is a harder person to connect with. I loved sees her let down her walls and let Rosie and others in. I loved the way Arthur pushes Rosie to be better and dream better. And I loved Bertie's no nonsense approach to life. I loved the banter and the snark and the love. Of course, seeing Rosie fall in love with Booker was so sweet.
I loved getting to know Rosie and Booker as they fall in love. Their Friday questions were so fun as they get to know each other and let each other in. They both had hard experiences in their pasts. But seeing them work through those tough emotions attached to sorrow, grief, and pain was beautiful. They both realize they can chase their dreams and find true happiness. They just fit together so well! I loved how Booker loves Rosie as she is -- quirky, silly, scared, talented, and passionate. Their love story was so beautiful to experience.
The ending was such a beautiful conclusion to a fantastic story. This story had so much to love. I laughed out loud. My jaw dropped. I couldn't see how the show could go on. I was sure I had figured out what Rosie would do, and then I was surprised again and again by what she actually does. While there are many twists and turns along the way, I loved where the characters ended up. I loved the hopeful, beautiful way the story ended. I finished this story feeling inspired to chase my dreams and embracing the moment. A wonderful novel that showcases the power of connection and the capacity within us all to change and dream big.

I have read several books by Courtney Walsh and I think this one may be my new favorite! I fell in love with the story right from the start and didn’t want to stop reading or listening (I did this book as a mix of audio and kindle).
This story focuses on Rosie and her summer working as a director of a show for senior citizens- a piece of the job that she didn’t realize was a thing until she arrived. Once there she finds a loving community of adorable characters, including the charming Booker who is the physical therapist in the community. This story was adorable and really showed how it’s ok to work out of your comfort zone. The narrator for the audio did such a great job differentiating her voice between characters that it made it so easy to follow the different characters.
I absolutely loved everything about this story! The setting was surprising and quirky and the characters were so easy to fall in love with. I adored the growth that Rosie and Arthur had in their friendship.
Thank you to Netgalley, Thomas Nelson Publishing and Zondervan Fiction Audio for my ARC and ALC copies of this book

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 stars
Another fun and light hearted read by Courtney Walsh! A relatable story of finding yourself in your years between college and adulthood and the lessons learned along the way.
Thanks to NetGalley and Thomas Nelson Fiction I received a complimentary advance copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

“Sometimes dreams shift and change and grow, and changing along with them isn’t failing. Pivoting isn’t quitting. Happiness isn’t linear, and seeking it isn’t selfish.”
I absolutely love everything about Courtney Walsh and her books. I found myself laughing out loud at the banter between the characters and some of their unusual situations. Perfect low spice romance with just the right amount of humor and life lessons.

Rosie is a struggling actress who, in desperation, sends out several applications without reading the fine print. She ends up working in a retirement community, directing an all-senior cast of Cinderella. She encounters quirky residents and a hunky physical therapist along the way, trying to keep her dreams alive. Sweet story, with humor and heart.

Courtney Walsh’s books make me happy! I “get” her characters and feel like I’ve always got something in common with them. This means I become deeply invested in what happens to them, and I certainly was invested in Rosie’s life. Her big dreams of the bright lights of NYC became smaller with each rejection. Her friends and family had no idea what was going on in her life because she didn’t tell them! She highlighted the good stuff. Does that sound familiar to anyone? Why do we always tell people we’re fine?! With no jobs lined up, Rosie becomes desperate and applies for all the jobs that she thinks she might qualify for. And the real story begins…
I just adored Everything’s Coming Up Rosie. It made me laugh and cry and cringe and worry. It has a slower paced plot than some of Walsh’s books, so it took me a little longer to finish. But keep reading! I loved the wide variety of characters and was so charmed by some in particular. They’ll remain unnamed, so you can form your own opinions as you’re reading! The romance is sweet, and the spice level is kissing only. I enjoyed the whole theater atmosphere because I love musicals, and I enjoyed watching Rosie grow into her role of being in charge rather than being on stage. I highly recommend this book and give it 5 stars!
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.

After seven years of trying to leverage her acting dream into a sustainable career, Rosie Waterman has hit rock bottom. Her roommate leaves her packed suitcase outside the apartment door (Rosie hasn’t paid her part of the rent for four months), her last hope of a steady job in theatre ended in a crash of bad reviews, and she only has enough money left to buy Cheez-Its on her way home for her best friend’s baby shower.
Rose’s only choice? Put on the act of her life as she hangs out with her besties from high school—three women who’ve successfully followed their dreams, leaving Rosie feeling like the biggest loser. Desperate (and getting tired of keeping up the act), Rosie accepts the first job offer to cross her inbox. Even if it’s in nowhere, Wisconsin instead of New York City, and a directing job instead of an acting job. She’s desperate enough to try something she hasn’t done since college.
When Rosie arrives at the bus station, a taciturn (but hopelessly handsome) man takes her to the campus of her new job—a campus that leaves her with more questions than answers. When Rosie finally realizes the ‘regional theatre’ belongs to an active retirement center, and her potential cast members’ median age hovers close to 65, Rose doesn’t know what to do.
The cute cottage (rent-free), the handsome man, and the budding friendships war with the thought of giving up her dream of making it big as an actress. At what point should a gal reevaluate her dreams and take on new ones?
Why I Loved This Book
Courtney Walsh uses humor and charm to explore a relatable question we all face at some point in our lives: Should we pivot or stay put? The sweet romance will make readers swoon, while the multigenerational cast of characters keeps the tone feisty and full of wisdom.
Fans of Emma St. Clair will love this book.

Another absolutely relatable, heartwarming, romantic, hilarious read from Courtney Walsh! I immediately loved Rosie, related to her, and then fell in love with the entire cast of characters. I laughed, I swooned, I cried, and I loved every minute of this story. A beautiful reminder that we’re all just winging it on this journey called life and we just have to let people in, find joy in the ride, and be willing to pivot sometimes.

I ❤️ everything CW writes! I especially love that i never have to worry about the contents of the book because i know I’m getting good writing without all the junk! LOVED THIS ONE 💜💜

A most excellent read from Courtney Walsh! Thank you to Courtney, NetGalley and Thomas Nelson publishing for the chance to read Everything's Coming up Rosie, in exchange for an honest review. We start by seeing Rosie at one of her lowest moments; as a struggling actress in New York, the life she imagined of becoming a legendary actress has fallen quite short. She has no job prospects, no money, and, once seeing the eviction notice/suitcase packed up, no home. Rosie goes back to her hometown and lands at a crossroads: does she fake it til she makes it? or does she confide in her friends about the reality of her "amazing life"? As she's debating, she receives an excellent job opportunity that is accepted prior to researching and shenanigans follow. Rosie is faced with lowering her walls, seeing herself in a different light and working hard to create something magical. I absolutely loved this book and all the characters brought to life on the page. It's a true coming of age story that so many individuals can relate to that forces us to go along for the ride while Rosie figures out when things don't go according to plan. Does everything fall apart to create something better than expected? and is it worth it?
I connected so much to Rosie's character, as i too have seen the effects of living someone else's dream. Rosie's experiences made her a fighter and it was beautiful to see her come full circle and discover all of the friendship, fun & love she had been missing for so long.

Thank you to Netgalley and Thomas Nelson Fiction for sending me this eARC
Releases June 10, 2025
Rosie is a down on her luck actress and out of money- feels like a failure and her dreams are slipping away.
Shes desperate and asks no questions when spontaneously taking a job she might not be cut out for. Upon arrival, Rosie notices there is something strange about the residents of her new place of employment.
I was hoping she’d be more honest with her friends about how her life is going. Knowing from experience how hard it is to admit to failure, but also recognizing she is withholding important things from her core friend group, I can relate to it- and I can also see how it was needed for her character to grow.
Right from the get go Booker takes her quirkiness in stride! He doesn’t question or judge the way that she is, and just rolls with it!
The way this book spoke to me. I related to Rosie in that sometimes I feel like I’m not where I am supposed to be in my own life. I get thrown into a cycle of comparison and spiral. I was not ready to learn so much about myself in how much I related to Rosie’s fear of failure and feeling big emotions!
The real star of this show is Arthur Silverman. A grumpy old man who isn’t impressed by anything or anyone. But Rosie wins him over and his encouragement to her is so sweet.
There is very little angst when it comes to the characters in this book. From Rosie’s friendships, to Booker, to the people she meets at Sunset Hills. It’s so refreshing to have characters actually be genuinely happy for the FMC without any negative feelings getting in the way.
This book is a book for the theatre kids and the movie lovers! The references are there but aren’t over-explained! If-you-know-you-know sort of thing. Which I loved because I felt like I was part of a secret club!
This book was short and sweet, and taught me a lot about myself as well! Be ready to feel things!

My thanks for the ARC goes to NetGalley and Thomas Nelson Fiction. I'm voluntarily leaving a review.
Genre: Sweet Romance, Cozy Romance
Spice Level: Kissing
Level of Christianity: I would say Christianity and prayer is part of some of the characters' lives but it doesn't overwhelm the plot.
EVERYTHING'S COMING UP ROSIE evaluates dreams and ambition, and it left me pondering my own life while feeling good about Rosie's development.
I like how Rosie went from lying to herself and others to the person she was at the end.
One of the most important take aways for me was how our dreams might transform or we might pivot when we discover we actually love something else.
The side characters are vivid and fun to spend time with too.
I feel like this story focuses the most on Rosie and the romance is almost secondary to her coming-of-age moment.
Romance readers and women fiction readers will love this book. It also works for Christians and non-Christians/secular readers.
Happy reading!

This book was so cute, funny, and charming. Courtney Walsh has now become an automatic read for me. Rosie was so fun. I absolutely loved all of the characters in this rom-com.

As a former theater kid, I absolutely adored the theater scenes throughout this book. The struggling actor, the retirement community rallying to put on a show, and the unleashing of an amazing talent through hard work and deep feelings. The author has done a fabulous job of weaving wisdom and guidance into a book to make it fun, believable, and heartwarming. Be sure to check this book out ASAP!

Courtney Walsh can literally do no wrong. I love that I can read her books for a light-hearted romance without the language and 🌶️.
If you love female characters that are on a self-discovery journey this is the book for you.
Rosie is a New York actress who knows what she wants… but nothing is working out like she plans. She hits rock bottom and while desperately clinging to a career in theatre she accepts a position directing Cinderella in a place she did not exactly research. She shows up for her new opportunity to quiet the surprise and everything gets shook up from there.
This book was so relatable. It had some great life lessons. It had the best, loveable characters that you wish you could meet. It made me cry from laughing so hard 🤣. It of course has the most perfect swoony romance 😍. It’s a perfect relaxing summer read.

Thank you to NetGalley, Thomas Nelson and Zondervan Fiction Audio, Thomas Nelson Fiction and Courtney Walsh for the chance to read this book in exchange for my honest review.
If you are a theater nerd that loves seriously sweet and cozy stories- this book is for you. Every little theater name, lyric, theme drop will make you giddy. Courtney does a lovely job making the reader think about life's journey and how goals can evolve. It's also wonderful commentary about being true to yourself, and those that love you most.
Narration was great- the narrator added a lot of enthusiasm and zeal to the story. Knowing the author's personality- it was a really great fit.

Another great book by Courtney Walsh! I’ve read a bunch of books by this author and, in all of them, there is a romcom/love story, but I always feel like Courtney Walsh’s books are so much more than that. There is always a focus on more than just the romantic relationship. Part of the reason I love her books is because she focuses on the main character’s struggles and shows how she grows and tries to become better. She’s able to learn from the people around her and from her experiences and become a better person by the end of the book. It also shows how important all the relationships in her life are, not just her romantic relationship. Everything’s Coming Up Rosie fits this description as well.
As I read about Rosie and her cast rehearsing and preparing to put on a play, I was reminded of when I performed in the musicals in high school. I had so much fun and made lots of good friends. I haven’t done anything like that in a long time, and this book inspired me to look up what kind of community theatre opportunities I have near me.
It was easy to relate to Rosie. She worked hard and felt like she was putting her whole self into her dream of being an actress, but she felt like she was failing at her goals and her life. I understand how that feels. There have been so many times in my life when I have put so much effort into something, but still felt like I was failing at it. It’s a frustrating place to be. While it was sad to read about Rosie keeping her troubles from her friends and refusing to open up to anyone, it was nice to see her work on those relationships and figure out how to be honest with herself and with those around her. I enjoyed reading about her realizations and transformations as Rosie learned and made changes in her life.
The love story was cute. While there is obviously some physical attraction there, I like that there is more to their relationship than that. They become friends and really start to get to know each other. They are able to learn and grow together and help each other to become better. That’s the best kind of relationship. You want to be with someone who helps you to be the best version of yourself and pushes you to try to be even better. I felt like this was the kind of relationship that Rosie and Booker had.
I love all of the fun, quirky side characters. It was easy to fall in love with all of them as I read about them working together towards a shared goal. It was a good reminder that everyone is important and has something meaningful to share.
I loved this new book by Courtney Walsh! I highly recommend it!
Disclosure: Thank you to Courtney Walsh, Thomas Nelson Fiction, and Netgalley for providing me with a copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I loved everything about this story. It has everything that makes a story true; heart, hardship, sadness, joy, and humor. I laughed and cried, I even underlined passages to reread once I was done! This is one I will return to again and again. I absolutely loved it!

I absolutely loved this book! Everything’s Coming Up Rosie had me laughing one minute and tearing up the next. Rosie is such a relatable, lovable character, and her journey felt so real and heartfelt. I truly felt like I Connected Rosie. Courtney Walsh perfectly balances humor and emotion, creating a story that's both uplifting, funny, and deeply moving. If you’re looking for a feel-good read, this one’s a must!

Just a kiss. Read it now.
Honey, everything's coming up Rosie! 🎶
If you love the theater, you will love "Everything's Coming up Rosie". Courtney Walsh has titled her book with a paraphrase of the scene stealing hit number "Everything's Coming Up Roses" from "Gypsy", and this sweet confection that is sure to please any musical theater lover's taste. Rosie Waterman was a theater kid who actually had the gumption to move to New York and try for her big break. But now she is broke, and her career is non-existent. In an application blitz, she applies for anything theater related she can find, without really looking at the job descriptions carefully. Rosie finds herself in a job directing "Cinderella" at a retirement community. Part screwball comedy, part romance and part adult "coming of age", this novel follows Rosie's growth as a person as she learns to stop pretending and let people know what she is really thinking. - not an easy task for an actress. The author is also a theatre director and playwright, so all the theater details are spot on. Rosie can't resist a song cue and this book had me singing along with her. The characters were a lot of fun and had me wishing that I was in the cast with them. I did think that Rosie took too long to realize the exact nature of her job. It made her seem pretty dense, and she is otherwise pretty savvy. This novel refreshingly different from the current trend in romances. There is absolutely no spice- just kissing. That plot twist is a bit unrealistic for a character her age, but it makes the book appropriate for readers of any age. This one is sure to please theater geeks and senior citizens so it was right up my alley.
I alternated between the audiobook and eBook of this fun story. Narrator Jorjeana Marie makes an ideal Rosie and the versatile actress handled a variety of characters with ease. I will be on the lookout for more audiobooks with her narration. Follow my direction and grab this book.

I love Courtney Walsh and her amazing writing.
Everything's Coming Up Rosie by Courtney Walsh
I found this book to be compelling and heartwarming as well as humorous.
The characters are delightful. It is a book that immerses you and makes you think of the relationships in your life. So fun.

Courtney Walsh was able to weave a strong romance novel in this book, it was everything that I was looking for and thought had a great concept. The characters were so well written and worked with how I expected the storyline to go. I was engaged and enjoyed the overall feel of this book.

I have been a long-time fan of Courtney Walsh, and I love this new direction her books are going in. I am a mostly romance reader, but I love how the main focus of the book wasn't romance but rather on life lessons and the art of achieving your dreams. Even though this job was not what she expected, Rosie ended up learning more about herself and even fell in love!

I have now read MANY of Courtney’s books, and I will tell you this: you’ll enjoy them if you love witty, sweet, closed door love stories with happy endings.
This book is about a girl who takes on a job without even really looking at the job description after auditioning for years trying to get her big break. This is a story of self-doubt and trying to reach your dreams. It’s a love story. It’s a story about self discovery. It’s deeply relatable.

This book was an absolute delight to read! Beautifully told, this book explores themes of joy and community, and I laughed many times and cried while reading it.
This book really touched my heart because I related so much to Rosie in certain ways. My life is very different from her story, but I felt like I could see myself in her sometimes, in what she said and felt. It felt very cathartic to read about Rosie, and I highlighted a lot of lines! I know this is a book I’ll be thinking about for awhile.
I laughed so many times while reading! Rosie has many hilarious misadventures, and the banter was fun and delightful. I also teared up several times. Not because something was sad, but because it just touched me so much! I love found family in books, and the found family in this story is absolutely fantastic. I loved the main characters and the side characters, and I appreciated how well they were all written! They all seemed so real, like I could go visit them for lunch and hang out with them sometime.
I had a hard time putting this book down, and it’s one I know I will want to reread in the future! It is beautiful, fun, romantic, funny, and touching, and I loved every moment of reading it!
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

“Because if I only get you for the summer, I want to be fully present for all of it.”
This book was phenomenal! In true Courtney fashion, she dives into a story that is relatable, heartfelt and full of laughs. Rosie’s faking her way through life, until she takes a new job producing Cinderella. Booker is happy as a PT and living near his grandma. He loves the community he lives in and the people, but is instantly intrigued by Rosie.
“And for the record there's nothing casual about the way I feel about you Rosie.”
There are so many fun surprises, (I really won’t ruin it) but you can’t go wrong with Courtney’s books. There are many self discoveries, growth, rebranding and changing course for characters in this book and I loved it. It was touching and meaningful to me in a way that I needed, while still making me laugh until I cried. It was an inspiring journey that ends the way it should, even if not all readers agree. I love that about Courtney’s books. She doesn’t just write them all with easy HEA, there is always something to learn. I adored all the side characters so much!
“Sometimes dreams shift and change and grow, and changing along with them isn’t failing. Pivoting isn’t quitting. Happiness isn’t linear, and seeking it isn’t selfish.”

Tampon List-LOL
It’s a Cult…how did she not figure it out yet?
Newsies-Seize the Day girl, the theater is amazing!

All the theater references!
“It’s you Rosie, you’re the new dream.”
Sidenote: The audio is also wonderful! The narrator was amazing and I have added a new one to my list. She did all of the characters justice . I Loved it! She truly conveyed the emotions and voices so well!

Everything's Coming Up Rosie turned out to be more than I expected. I laughed out loud so many times. Rosie was relatable. I initially didnt think she would be, bc of her background, but as she worked through her problems, there was a connection. And the retirement community? Perfection.
Courtney Waslh does a fabulous job of giving you a romance book but also makes sure there is a deeper story & plot woven throughout. Great story. Great job. I cried at the end.

I absolutely loved this inspiring novel!
Rosie Waterman wants to be a theatre actor. However, she loses her apartment and job all in the same day, so she heads back home. She decides to apply to any and all theatre positions anywhere she can. She doesn’t even bother to read any of the descriptions. Finally, she gets a call to work at Sunset Hills for a directing position in Door County, Wisconsin.
Once she arrives at Sunset Hills, she is greeted by a handsome man named Booker Hayes, who also works in the community. He shows her around the area, and Rosie can’t seem to shake the idea that the area is gorgeous but seems odd. She finally realizes the theatre position is for directing Cinderella at a senior citizen community.
Every character in this book is excellent, from the stubborn Arthur, who works in the theatre, to Dylan, a teenager living in the community with her grandmother. They become the perfect found family.
Watching the play hit the ground from auditions, to the theatre flooding, to opening night. You will wish you could see the play in person. I would especially love to see the transformation dress.
I also adored the love aspect between Booker and Rosie. Seeing them living in the moment and falling in love with one another will have you rooting for them in the end.
I never highlighted so many wonderful quotes in a book before. It will really have you thinking about how everything happens for a reason and to never give up on your dreams.
Thank you to NetGalley and Thomas Nelson for an eARC in exchange for my honest review.

I picked this up expecting a lighthearted rom-com—and while it is funny and romantic, it’s also so much more. We follow Rosie, an aspiring actress whose NYC dreams haven’t quite come true. She returns home feeling like a failure, keeping her struggles close to the chest. But everything changes when she’s offered a directing job… at a retirement community
What unfolds is a story full of heart, laughter, vulnerability, and growth. Rosie’s journey is messy and honest, and I found myself cheering her on as she slowly let down her walls. The romance with Booker is sweet and refreshingly real—but what truly stole my heart? The ensemble cast.
The ensemble cast truly shines, from her ride-or-die best friends to the hilarious seniors she works with, this group brought so much life to the page The standout for me was Arthur. Grumpy, wise, unexpectedly kind, was the grounding presence Rosie didn’t know she needed and gave the story so much heart. I’d happily read more books about this group!
Heartwarming, funny, and sincere—Courtney Walsh, you knocked it out of the park.
Thanks to NetGalley and Thomas Nelson for the eArc!!

I loved this book. I was laughing, smiling, and feeling all the feels. I loved all the characters. It was a sweet story filled with joy and hope.

Everything about this book was a complete delight from the story itself, to the setting, and most of all, the characters. This colorful cast of characters will make you laugh, smile and maybe even tear up at times.
Rosie Waterman's dream of being a successful actor is seemingly in the toilet at this point in her life. She is headed home from New York City with her tail tucked between her legs, although she has told no one that things are not quite as glittery as she hoped. When she receives an offer to be on the creative team in Door County, Wisconsin with a nice salary, which also includes housing, she is hopeful this could be the start of building her dream. Rosie should have read the fine print because this theatre company is in a retirement community and their production of Cinderella is nothing like what she was thinking. Her first thought is how can we do Cinderella with a bunch of old people? Rosie is about to get an education.
This book was truly a joy to read. Rosie soon learns that she may not know as much about life as she first believed, and who better to teach her lessons than those who have lived a lot longer that she has. This was a journey of self-discovery for someone who had been a little single-minded in her approach to her career and her life. I cannot say enough good things about this wonderful book. It was fantastic!
Thank you to Thomas Nelson Fiction and NetGalley for this ARC. I am leaving this review voluntarily.

I loved this book and the audio fit Rosie so well! Rosie was so relatable and I really enjoyed the many side characters throughout. A beautiful story full of sadness, joy, laughter, and of course some swoon!

Thank you to @netgalley, @thomasnelson, and @zondervan for the ebook of Everything’s Coming Up Rosie by Courtney Walsh; all opinions are my own.
Sometimes I need a shot of sunshine in a book, and that’s what I received with Everything’s Coming Up Rosie. Rosie is not thriving as an actor in New York and accepts the first job she is offered without reading the fine (or bold) print.
“I don’t believe in accidents. So if you’re here, then you’re here for a reason. And I’m betting there is something here for you too.” There is so much there for her!
This book has so many characters and relationships, including my favorite- the spunky elderly! Everyone has a story. Rosie and Booker have the cutest, most fun conversations, and this contains the third act of my dreams. I had chills at one point!
In the “About the Author” of her books, it mentions that Walsh owns a performing arts studio and youth theatre. I’ve been waiting for this to play a prominent role in one of her books. While reading, I didn’t feel like anything was researched, it was KNOWN.
Publishing June 10, 2025, today! I recommend!
Booker may consider giving it 2/10 stars but I give it 5/5 stars!

Another comforting, joyful read from Courtney Walsh! I love that her books have depth while also making me laugh out loud and genuinely enjoy the ride. Rosie was a highly relatable main character and I loved the retirement community setting. Loved this one!

Everything’s Coming Up Rosie by Courtney Walsh is an absolutely delightful women’s fiction romance! Courtney is a favorite author of mine because she writes such believable characters that feel so real to me. They are dealing with life and all that goes along with that, and I find I learn something along the way to apply to my own life. She also writes incredible romantic leading men and manages to create the perfect amount of tension and swoon worthiness while keeping it totally chaste!
.
In Rosie’s story we find a lady who is failing in her attempt to find her dreams as an actress in NYC, and not being honest with her true friends about her realities. She takes a summer theatre job in Door County, Wisconsin, a job that she really didn’t read the description for because it paid well and it was a theatre. The surprise reality makes for a great read! There were so many characters to love and so much wisdom to be gained. I loved the way this story unfolded and I loved watching Rosie grow as a person. The ending was everything I could have wanted!
.
The narration by Jorjeana Marie was perfect! Her reading was so fun and she made the characters come to life! I read this in both the audio and physical and really enjoyed the tandem experience!
.
I recommend this for romance lovers yes, but even if you are not particularly into romance yet you love a good women’s fiction about a woman coming into her own. This would be a great vacation read or lazy summer day read. Although it can be read anytime of year!
.
Thanks @NetGalley and @ThomasNelsonFiction and @ZondervanFictionAudio for the ARC and the ALC that I received in exchange for my unbiased review.

I really enjoyed this book. Courtney Walsh writes such real characters. I could identify with Rosie, where it feels like everyone else around you has grown up, and you're still figuring it out.
I loved the seniors, and Booker is a great fit for Rosie! This is a great closed door romance.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the e-ARC of the book. This review is my own opinion.

This book was so revelatory for me. In our culture of social media it is so easy to be influenced by other people’s views of what the good life should look like and to set goals for myself that are unrealistic. The main character, Rosie, has a big dream of becoming a Broadway stage star and despite her exceptional talent and drive, she has fallen short of the expectations set by herself and others. In order to pay her bills, she took a summer job as a director at a regional theatre in Wisconsin with the promise to herself that she would get right back to the grind of auditions in NYC at the end of the summer but she found herself growing from the experience and enjoying the job and the new friends she had made, especially a man who had become more than a friend. Her dilemma was to figure out if it is okay to pivot, to change her dream for something different or if it would just be settling. I loved the way her question was resolved in this story. It made me examine some of my own goals. I loved it and highly recommend! I received a complimentary copy from the publisher. All opinions expressed as strictly my own.

I knew from following the author's Instagram that she is involved in theater, and it was so fun seeing that world come to life in the unique setting of a retirement community. Rosie, a struggling actress, is such a relatable and sympathetic main character, and being along for the ride as she reimagined her acting dreams was such a treat. The love interest, Booker, was so endearing, as were all the supporting characters, young (Rosie's roommate, a teen girl she takes under her wing, her best friends back home) and old (the colorful residents of the community.) This novel is heartwarming without being cheesy, and uplifting in the truest sense of the word, and not in a false or condescending way. If you liked this author's The Summer of Yes and The Happy Life of Isadora Bentley, you will love this one as well!

Rosie has struggled to make a name as an actress for herself for years. To avoid having to live with her parents, she blindly accepts a summer position in Wisconsin to direct Cinderella without knowing that the theatre is the senior living community’s theatre — where all the actors are senior citizens. Will she let go of her dream of being an actress? Will the unexpected be exactly what she needs?
For years, Rosie has been hiding the struggles of her life and career from everyone close to her because she deeply cares what people think of her, She is afraid of being seen as a failure. Rosie’s struggles and insecurities are all so relatable.
I loved watching Rosie learn how to step up to be the leader the theatre needed. Booker was such a cinnamon roll. I love how he was so caring, patient and non-judgmental as he helped Rosie work through her feelings. I loved watching her grow as a person, learn to love herself and trust that her friends will always love and support her. There is lots of witty banter and so many wonderfully funny side characters too!
This would be the perfect summer read! It does lean more towards women’s fiction rather than romance.
Thank you to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the copy of this book and audiobook. All thoughts are my own.
CW: Parental Abandonment

Everything’s Coming Up Rosie is Courtney Walsh’s latest Christian Women’s Fiction novel with a side of clean romance. It is a story about friendship, self-discovery, and forgiveness that will stick with readers for a long time.
Rosie Waterman has been pursuing a professional acting career for the past seven years, since graduating with a Theater degree from college. While she occasionally gets small acting roles, she survives by working as a waitress or a theatre usher. Her roommate politely kicks her out when she hasn’t paid her rent in four months. Then she loses her job and decides to move back home with her mom until she can get back on her feet.
When Rosie reconnects with her three childhood best friends at a baby shower, she feels left out. They have careers, marriages, and babies on the way. Rosie has nothing to show for her years of toiling and is too embarrassed to tell them the truth about her situation. When she's offered a job as the director of a regional theatre's production of Cinderella, she jumps at the chance--even though the job is in Door County, Wisconsin. After all, it’s her only job offer, and it IS related to theater. But when she arrives in Wisconsin, she quickly discovers that her actors are senior citizens in a retirement community.
Rosie experiences tremendous personal growth as she works with her group of seniors and hones their acting skills. She learns that success doesn’t always mean making the big-time and becoming rich and famous. She connects with a man named Booker and their friendship blossoms into love.
Everything’s Coming Up Rosie will make readers laugh while they root for Rosie to find success and love. The author’s phrasing is so eloquent that readers can sympathize with Rosie’s plight and feel invested in her journey of self-discovery. It’s a very engrossing story that is both clean and uplifting. Highly recommended for fans of Debbie Macomber.
I received an Advance Review Copy (ARC) from NetGalley and Thomas Nelson Fiction for free. I am leaving this review voluntarily.

I enjoyed reading Everything’s Coming Up Rosie, a fun romcom set in Wisconsin. Rosie is an unemployed actor from NYC who feels like a failure. She’s desperate to find paid theatre work and accidentally lands a temporary job in a retirement community running their upcoming Cinderella production. Rosie moves into staff housing on site and feels like she has made another embarrassing career mistake.
The story is from Rosie’s perspective in first person point of view. We journey with Rosie as she discovers why she’s lost and failing to achieve her goals and dreams. Rosie’s friends-to-more romance with Booker, the physical therapist at the retirement community, is sweet and adorable. I loved meeting the creative and eccentric residents and staff who were invested in making the theatre production a success and helping Rosie to discover what’s important in life.
I recommend Everything’s Coming Up Rosie to contemporary romance readers who like clean and wholesome friends-to-more and opposites attract romcoms set in a retirement community with a theatre production, an ensemble cast of quirky characters, and found family themes.
Many thanks to Thomas Nelson and NetGalley for the advanced reader copy.

“Sometimes what you think you want and what you actually want turn out to be different things . . .
Rosie Waterman has one dream: to become a working actor. But lately, that hasn’t been working out. When she loses her apartment and her job on the same day, she does what she always does—puts herself out there, ready to find the next big thing. But a trip home makes her realize that while she’s been struggling to make this dream come true, all her friends have become real adults with careers and weddings and babies on the way. Rosie’s been at this for years, and she has nothing to show for it. But how does she simply let go of her dream?
When she’s offered a job as the director of a regional theatre’s production of Cinderella, she jumps at the chance—even though she’s only directed in college and the job is in Door County, Wisconsin, and not in New York. She has no other offers, and at least she’ll be getting paid to do something theatrical. But when she arrives, she quickly realizes that the “regional theatre” is actually in a retirement community, and the “actors” are actually senior citizens with no acting experience whatsoever.
Working on the show presents new challenges, forcing Rosie to learn how to step up and be the leader this fledgling theatre troupe needs. The more time she spends with her new cast, the more she begins to rethink what it means to dream big, especially when that big dream hasn’t turned out to be at all what she thought it would be. It’s not at all what she expected, but could it be exactly what she needs?”
**What I loved about this book:
Rosie was such a relatable and endearing character! I loved the themes of perseverance to go after your dreams, as well as friendship in this story! And I really enjoyed the side characters that put this book over the top for me!

This story took me a bit to get into, but after Rosie moved to Milwaukee. I was all in.
This is a great example of ‘write what you know‘. It’s obvious Courtney knows all about the stage, directing and producing a show on stage!
So many things I liked about this book:
It gives a great example of friends who stick by you no matter what.
I didn’t guess the ending which I liked!
It showed active seniors, not ones pictured like old grandmas and slow or grumpy people.
I liked the enthusiasm in this book.
So many characters showed enthusiasm and demonstrated hard work!
Loved how all the characters were complimentary of others.
There were lot of givers not takers in this story.
Dreams are important God gives us gifts and dreams for our lives. We are meant to use them.
Highly recommend!
Thank you to Net Galley for allowing me to read this book. The opinions are entirely my own.

thank you @netgalley and @courtneywalsh for the e-arc of everything's coming up rosie!
5 ⭐️ read!!
Rosie Waterman is 29 years old and having a quarter-life crisis. She feels like she's chasing a dream that's consistently out of reach and can't burden her friends with her reality. After applying to a ton of jobs, she hears back from one abut being a director for a theatre program. Of course, she misses a key detail: it's for a retirement community.
This story was INCREDIBLE. It was so full of life and truth about what life is like. The panic of not knowing what's next and if you're even on the right path is a reality for so many of us. I could relate to Rosie on so many levels. Courtney is so good at her honest character development. It's something I've loved in all of her books that I've read. It's amazing to see something we all feel be put into words. I also love how this story has friendships and mentorships so woven throughout. We get to see Rosie be a positive role model for a teenage girl in a way that I don't think Rosie ever got for herself. We also get to see one of the cutest romances I've read in awhile (I love Booker).
In the book:
• theatre x1000
• clean romance and no swearing
• best friendships ever
• grumpy old man who's really a softy
• mentorship relationships
• themes of forgiveness and healing and moving forward
• trying to figure out life when life is lifeing
• big summer camp vibes but make it a retirement community
• late night kitchen hangouts
Absolutely recommend!

Rosie Waterman is a failure. She has officially been kicked out of her apartment in New York, she can't land a role no matter how many auditions she does, and she is out of money. When a dream job offer comes, she jumps on the chance of a good paying job with little questions asked. Rosie comes to find out things aren't quite what she expected, but what does she have to lose at this point?
This story was so cute! I enjoyed it all and there were so many quotes I loved from the book. It has such a good message and felt so uplifting. It also had a cute love story too. I definitely recommend this book. Such a fun summer read!
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

This is such a delightful book to read, I loved it! Rosie is an aspiring actress that feels like she is a failure compared to her 3 best friends. She gets an offer where she thought she was going to be part of a directing team, but when she gets there, it is quite the surprise. I loved the strong friendships and the unconditional support they provide. I loved all the side characters, the banter that was simply delightful and fun. This is a book that has all that I am looking for in a book, romantic, heartwarming, fun and funny banter and wonderful characters. This is a book you don’t want to miss reading.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from Thomas Nelson Fiction; this review is completely my own opinion.

This book is EVERYTHING I want to read in a romance book.
It had romance, yes, of course it did. But more than that, it had so much love. The kind of love everybody wishes for. Love between friends. Regardless of age, regardless of geography. Love.
There was also hope. In abundance. So much hope you could cry from it. But only the good kind of crying. The kind of crying from joy.
And Dylan, I love her!!
I loved this book, and you should read it and fall in love too.
Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.

"There's a man here making my stomach flutter...." — me too, Rosie, me too.
Swoony, funny, and absolutely perfect! Even as someone who's not into theater, I couldn't get enough of Rosie, the seniors, and Booker. The narration was spot on. My favorite Courtney Walsh book yet!

Courtney Walsh's newest release was a delightful surprise for me—an easy 5-star read! I’ve read several of Walsh’s books before and have always enjoyed them for what they are: clean, closed-door romances with heart. But this one? It went above and beyond my expectations.
Rosie completely stole the show. She was absolutely hilarious. I laughed hard throughout the entirety of the story. But what really got me was how her humor served as a bit of a mask, something the book slowly and thoughtfully reveals. That emotional depth added so much richness to her character and the story overall.
I also adored the entire cast of characters. They felt authentic and jumped off the page. They felt like people I could run into in real life. Each one brought something special to the narrative, and I truly didn’t want it to end.
I loved this one so much. If you enjoy heartfelt, genuinely funny romance with layered characters and a strong emotional core, don’t miss this book! Even though it was released this week, I have a feeling it's going to be a hidden gem with all the new releases coming out in June!
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing a digital copy for my honest review.

My Thoughts:
I really love all of what Courtney writes. Her last book "The Summer of Yes" was a HUGE book to follow. I absolutely loved the journey that took that I was hopeful this one would follow up strong! Which it did. Courtney has a way of making you connect with the main characters and also the sub characters. She developes the characters deeply, all while letting it unravel more naturally in the story telling. This is something a lot of authors are weak or lack in. It's also typically why I will DNF a book out the gate.
you really fall in love the the journey they each go on, and where they end up. You are rooting for them in the big and small steps and just hoping they find their way through. In this case we are rooting for Rosie (main character) out the gate.
When Rosie Waterman’s acting career flatlines, she trades Broadway dreams for bingo nights and a cast of retirees in orthopedic shoes—and somehow, it’s the role of a lifetime. Equal parts hilarious and heartwarming, this story proves that sometimes the standing ovation comes from the least likely stage. A delightful reminder that dreams don’t die—they just change zip codes. Her connections, unlikely friendships with Booker and the theater members is absolutely heartwarming. I honestly really thought it was going to end differently, but LOVED how it did end!!!
Synopsis:
Rosie Waterman has one to become a working actor.

Rosie has always wanted to act, but with few roles turning up in New York, she's getting desperate. Desperate enough to accept a summer job in Wisconsin without any real idea of what she's getting herself into except that it's to do with theatre. When she arrives and discovers it's a retirement community which wants to put on the musical Cinderella, she almost quits despite her desperation, but somehow, she can't quite decide to leave. And of course, Booker couldn't possibly be part of her reason, because however attracted she is to him, she has no intention of starting a summer romance she can't finish - and New York is her home, not Wisconsin. But as she works to arrange and direct the musical, she begins to recognise what this place really has to offer and question what she really wants in life. Could it be that her dream was never really _her_ dream? And if so - what now?
It took me a little while to really get into this - possibly not altogether surprising since Rosie would have to be my polar opposite - but once it grabbed me, it refused to let go. And there was so much to love. Rosie has a lot of growth to do, and fortunately she ended up in the perfect place to provide the support she needed, however little she might have expected it. I particularly loved Arthur's wisdom once Rosie got past the crankiness - and all the more for the effort it took her to dig out. I love her ability to see - or find - the best in everyone. I'd like to think I try to look for the best in others, but I'm not good at it! As for Booker, well, in some ways he did feel a bit of a nonentity (possibly good because Rosie had so much going on...), but I appreciated the way he was always quietly there for her, supporting, pushing when necessary, and generally caring. And the cast of senior citizens? Well, some of them are definitely characters in their own ways, and I liked the way that the story quietly emphasises that they may be old, but they're still people with their own loves, hates, skills and foibles - and some you'll love, some you may hate! The result is a deeply moving story of someone learning their real place in life and how to truly be a friend and accept friendship. Highly recommended.
