When I read the synopsis for this book, I thought it sounded SO cute and I couldn't wait to see how Walsh handled it. I ended up loving every moment of it!
Does it read like a Hallmark movie? Absolutely. That's part of it's charm. There's still so much heart packed into this story and these characters, though. I loved Rosie's friends and the community where she ends up. I loved her struggle to discover what life looked like for her--what was her dream and what was actually survival.
And don't even get me started on Booker. He's PERFECT book boyfriend material
I received a complimentary copy of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. All expressed opinions belong to me.

Everything's Coming up Rosie by Courtney Walsh is heartwarming, delightful and funny read.
I can't recommend Everything's Coming Up Rosie enough. This story about friendship, self-discovery, and forgiveness will stick with readers for a long time.

I loved this book! It was truly a theatre kid’s dream! I loved the retirement community setting. I found the cast of characters to be delightful. I found the female main character to be really relatable and I found the male main character to be a walking green flag. Truly such a fun, sweet, romance.

I loved this story so much. The ending was different than I anticipated and I loved it even more for that. You will swoon over the MMC and just adore the FMC.

Courtney Walsh is a must read author for me. I always love her smaller-town settings, characters and their growth from start to end. There is always a ‘real’ feel to her books that I appreciate so much.
With Everything’s Coming Up Rosie, it took me a bit to get into. For once, I really didn’t care for her main character, Rosie. I felt that she needed to just be honest with her friends and family instead of always having to project such a positive spin on her not so positive life.
What saved the book for me were the side characters at the retirement home. I adored them with all their quirkiness and personalities.

Rosie was an annoying FMC didn't vibe with the writing quite slow left it for a bit and tried picking it up but still didn't vibe with it sorry dnf

Oh wow! Another great read from one of my favorite closed-door romcom authors! I had all the feels, most especially connecting deeply with Rosie as a character and totally loved Courtney Walsh's love letter to the theatre. Booker is so sweet, and I found it hilarious that it took Rosie until chapter 10 to realize the specifics for her job as far as the cast with which she will be working. Rosie's development as a character really validated my own healing and growth process, having switched careers within the library world recently. Of my many highlights, my two current favorites are Rosie: “I stop the fire hydrant that is my mouth.” and Author note: "Changing course isn’t giving up. It’s OK to walk away from something good if your gut tells says to walk away…. Dream big dreams, beautiful soul, but let yourself reimagine them every once in a while. It’s the only way to make sure you don’t miss out on what God has for you."

Courtney Walsh delivers another heartwarming and witty romance in Everything's Coming Up Rosie. With her signature charm and emotional depth, Walsh introduces us to Rosie, a quirky yet determined heroine trying to revive her floundering acting career—and perhaps her love life, too.
While a few plot points felt slightly predictable, the engaging characters, sparkling dialogue, and uplifting message more than made up for it. A cozy, feel-good read perfect for fans of clean romance with a dash of sass. Rosie’s journey reminds us that sometimes, life blooms in unexpected ways. 🌸

Everything's Coming Up Rosie was a quick and charming read. It was sweet and inspirational in it's own unique way.
This story had a real sense of love, community, friendship and finding oneself. Growing up and growing into oneself is always an adventure and this was a cute story of Rosie's journey that I found truly remarkable and lovable!
Give it a go if you love a good theater read that's lighthearted and fun!

Keep the tissues close by as you are reading EVERYTHING’S COMING UP ROSIE by Courtney Walsh. She will have your emotions all over the place. Once I started reading, it was very hard to stop! The twists and turns made it impossible to put down, as I had to know what was going to happen to Rosie and her friends back home. EVERYTHING’S COMING UP ROSIE is a story of working through the hard times and coming out on the other side. From the very first page until the last, I was hooked into the lives of each of the characters. None of them has made easy or the right choices and they sure did struggle. What an awesome story. All of Courtney’s characters feel genuine and relatable and put your emotions on one heck of a roller coaster ride.
EVERYTHING’S COMING UP ROSIE is all about family and the past and the secrets that come out are heart tugging. It had me flipping through the pages like a woman on a mission. I had to know what was going to happen to Rosie and Booker and all the secondary characters. Rosie doesn’t see the point of starting something with Booker as she is only in Door County for the summer. She is attracted to him, but knows it will hurt when they have to say goodbye. Well, over time they help each other and I loved watching them grow. I really wanted to reach in to the story and give them both a hug. The bantering between these two is hysterical and I was giggling out loud more than once. EVERYTHING’S COMING UP ROSIE is a heart tugging story that will hold you hostage until the very last page. Once you start reading, it will be very hard to put down!
EVERYTHING’S COMING UP ROSIE is without a doubt one of the funniest and emotional books I’ve read in 2025. I was instantly emotionally invested in all of the characters. My heart broke for Rosie and for all she was dealing with. EVERYTHING’S COMING UP ROSIE wasn’t at all what I expected it to be. It is all that and so much more! Courtney Walsh digs deep into the broken lives of her characters and delivers an emotionally amazing read. She really knows how to write about family drama, heartbreak, faith and forgiveness. I can not wait to read more by this wonderful and heart tugging author. I have only read a few books by this spot on author but I have many of her older books to read and that brings me so much joy and happiness to know they are waiting for me! She has the most beautiful covers! Check them out!!
I received a complimentary copy of this book from Netgalley. All opinions expressed are my own and were voluntarily given.

I love pretty much everything Courtney Walsh writes and this story is no exception. Rosie is facing the facts that her life isn't turning out how she expected with the goal she's held onto since childhood. This book explores the growing pains of facing a life differently than the one you'd mapped out for yourself. As usual, the secondary cast of characters really adds to the fullness of the story and gives Rosie the nudges and advice to help her realize what's worth holding onto, the things we let go, and the things we were only supposed to learn from as we move through life.

4.5/5 stars
I’ve read two other Walsh books and this one just adds to the love. I’m definitely firmly a fan.
This story was both sweet with lighthearted moments and fun humor but also with some more profound moments of self reflection and struggles with self confidence and looking deep to figure it all out.
Rosie, as an out of work actress (in NYC), finds herself taking a job (in Wisconsin) that she didn’t fully research which leads to some…interesting surprises. Rosie was such a wonderful character. Determined, brave and far more talented than she gives herself credit for.
Rosie meets Booker (a physical therapist and jack-of-all-trades) at her new job, and while he has issues of his own, he strives to help Rosie by pulling her out of herself to face her hard questions and complicated feelings. Booker…what a sweetheart he is. He’s a good-natured teaser, a good listener and a wise sounding board. He’s the total package, and I fell hard for him in every way but especially for how he treated everyone around him.
I’m very much a character-heavy reader, but when I get not just well-developed mains but also a stellar group cast, I’m totally sold. Call me totally sold.
Very well done.
My sincere thanks to the author, NetGalley and Thomas Nelson Fiction for providing the free early arc of Everything’s Coming Up Rosie for review. The opinions are strictly my own.

3.5/5
I wasn’t quite sure how I felt toward Rosie in the first few chapters but over time I grew to appreciate her character. I found a strong element of relatability in Rosie’s feeling of “failing” at life and always trying to put on a brave face. I know this idea resonates with many people in their twenties, including myself.
It took me a bit of time to get through this book, but I enjoyed how it tells a light-hearted and hopeful story with a great message about resilience and the willingness to adapt (even when dreams don’t go according to plan!). I also enjoyed the romance element, which I thought was well-balanced with the other themes of the book.
The ending didn’t fully sit right with me, (Spoilers for my thoughts: <spoiler> Personally, I felt that a truer ending could’ve been that Rosie does part time directing at Sunset Hills. </spoiler>) but I was ultimately satisfied with this story.
I’d recommend this to fans of clean contemporary fiction and to anyone out there looking for a pick-me-up story of hope.

Everything‘s Coming Up Rosie by Courtney Walsh, Rosie Waterman is having a quarter life crisis the day before going back to her small town for her best friend‘s baby shower she gets evicted from her apartment in Brooklyn. For years she’s been trying to make it as an actor and although she gets bit parts every now and then her biggest claim to fame is being a corpse on law and order. her three best friends back home and her mom and stepdad 100% support her and are always in her corner so the last thing she wants to do is tell them what a loser she really is or at least believes herself to be. So when her friends keep asking what’s next with her career it is a lifesaver when she gets an email from someone named Connie telling her she’s going to be on the creative team for the musical Cinderella that they’re putting on this summer. when she arrives in door County Wisconsin she’s met at the bus station by Brooke Hayes the residential physical therapist and all around handyman and Rosie is instantly attracted to him. especially when he plays off her quirky nature and seems to be able to keep up with her constant quip’s with his own comments. The only thing Rosie cannot wrap her head around the question, why would a theater need a physical therapist. She jokingly asked Booker if she’s joining a cult but to her horror and her mind it’s much worse she’s putting on a play in an elderly retirement village and the actors are all in their 70s and 80’s. she panics even more when she learns she’s not part of a team… She is the team the director the lighting costumes etc. She almost tells Connie she’s changed her mind but when she meets the retirement homes equivalent of a high school mean girl Belinda she tells Connie she will do it with all the confidence of someone who doesn’t quite know if she can really do it! With her new friends and the encouraging residence not to mention the stage Manager grumpy author Rosie tries to pull off the unpulloffable, and she may just wind up finding love a new dream and a newfound family. I have never read a book like this where you can read the physical humor and still laugh out loud and this book delivers that in so much more. I don’t know how authors find the most perfect counter person when doing a romance but Booker is definitely that for Rosie I did get tired of her crying about being dishonest and not being the real Rosie but that is a small price to pay for the greatness of this book. Her driving the golf cart into the mud is worth the price of this book I laughed so loud at the point it made my back hurt it was so funny. This was just a great book I would definitely watch this if it got turned into a movie and I am not even a movie person. If you love funny romance with sweet endearing moments quirky elderly people not to mention the quirky protagonist then you’ve definitely got to read this book. It was so good! #Netgalley,#ThomasNelsonPublishing, #TheBlindReviewer, #MyHonestReview, #CourtneyWalsh, #Everything‘sComingUpRosie,7

I love Courtney Walsh books! I always feel warm and fuzzy after reading one of her books! Her stories are always heartfelt and make you think about love and how you’re in general. If you haven’t read a book of hers yet, you need to!!
Rosie is a struggling actress hiding her career progress from her family and friends. She is applying for a bunch of jobs and lands one as a director of a production of Cinderella in Wisconsin. When Rosie arrives, she finds out the theatre is in a retirement community and the actors are all senior citizens!
When new challenges arise, Rosie has to learn to adapt and move forward. She meets Booker who is the PT there, and he challenges her to open up more. She also meets many interesting members of this community, including Arthur who seems grumpy but Rosie comes to learn much more than she could ever dream.
I love the connection Rosie formed with Arthur; it got me teary eyed at the end of the story. And Booker, swoon! Who doesn’t love a man who is kind, supportive and good looking!
💭 I loved this book’s theme of dreams and what they look like for us in life. Rosie asks Booker, “And you don’t feel like you gave up on your dream?” “Nah,” he says. “I just got a new one.” And they talk about pivoting and shifting yourself if you need to. Rosie is having a hard time coming to terms with where she is in life, and I feel like that is soooo relatable at various times in our lives. I love how Courtney was able to address that theme with the side characters and how they influenced Rosie. It was just perfect!

I loved it! Such a heartwarming read. I especially loved the quirky side characters—each one added so much charm and humor to the story, making Rosie’s journey even more memorable. Watching Rosie grow, redefine her dreams, and find joy in unexpected places was truly inspiring. Her personal transformation felt authentic and uplifting, and I found myself cheering for her every step of the way.

I was excited to hear that Courtney Walsh had a new book after readingI was excited to hear that Courtney Walsh had a new book coming out. I enjoyed The Summer of Yes and The Happy Life of Isadora Bentley. I especially loved Isadora.
Rosie Waterman has been chasing her dream in NYC. Since an early age, Rosie has wanted to act and perform but nothing is working out like she had hoped.
After her roommates packed up her stuff and left it outside their apartment along with a note telling her she has to move, Rosie takes a trip home for one of her three best friend's baby shower. She is not honest with her friends and leads them to believe that her life in fabulous.
Before leaving NYC, she frantically applied to any and every job she could find. While at home for the shower, she receives a job offer. She reads the offer while distracted and just accepts the job without reading the details.
Rosie arrives in Door County Wisconsin to a dreamy man waiting to pick her up and a job she did not expect. Walsh has written a cast of great characters that warm the readers heart. This is a sweet story with romance and community and little spice. Walsh always weaves in solid life advice that our world needs today.
Walsh has once again written a solid story that many readers will enjoy.
I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I always love Courtney Walsh’s books, but this one is the very best! I was hooked from the start. Everything about this book is just right! I love Rosie and her journey of self discovery is unique, magical, theatrical (of course, she’s an actor), and made me laugh and cry! Someone make this into a movie ASAP. Rosie and Booker, and the entire cast of wonderful characters in this book deserve screen time.
🌶️- just kisses (but plenty of wonderful romance!)

I enjoyed this book. It was heartwarming, romantic, and really fun to read. I really loved the ending and was glad that Rosie's friends came to see her. I loved Arthur, underneath all the grumpiness, he's a softie. I'm grateful that netgalley and the publisher's let me read this in exchange for an honest review.
