Wow! What an awesome story. Rosie's journey of self-discovery, facing her fears, acknowledging her dreams, opening her heart again is beautiful, funny, kirky and emotional. The side characters are wonderful and the story really touch your heart. The audiobook with Jorjeana Maries makes an amazing story in an incredible one. Thanks to NetGalley for the ALC. This is my honest review

Courtney Walsh did it again. She manages to write a book that just is cozy and sweet and enjoyable! The two words I would use to describe this are uplifting and heartwarming. Rosie's personal growth and acceptance of herself were so sweet to watch as the story developed. I found myself growing to love the characters more and more as they story developed and not wanting it to end! If you like books & musicals/plays/theater this book is PERFECT for you!

I love Courtney Walsh's books because they are books I feel comfortable recommending to anyone including my mom! :)

Everything’s Coming Up Rosie

“What if feeling deeply is my super power because that allows me to connect with other people?”

Rosie is working hard to make it as an actor, but feels like she is hitting dead ends left and right. In a panic to find the next gig, she accepts a job that sounds perfect with little details about it. In move to Door County, Wisconsin from NYC, Rosie discovers that her new role is actually directing a play at the retirement community. Struggling to figure out how she got here, and where she truly wants to be in life, Rosie allows the wisdom of a fellow theater nerd and the support of a found family community (including a certain gorgeous physical therapist) to help her find her way.

This one comes through as women’s fiction, with a side of romance. Despite being set at late 20s, Rosie feels quite young to me. The emotions she goes through and the choices she makes were hard for me to relate to.

Arthur, the grumpy stage hand who imparts his wisdom begrudgingly, is my favorite part hands down.

If you’re looking for some lighter fluff, theater kid content, and set in a retirement home with a cast of nosy characters, this one is for you!

Thank you Netgalley and Courtney Walsh for this arc! This was such a lighthearted book and I truly needed that. I found reading about Rosie and how her life hasn’t gone the way she planned really relatable. The plot was fun and interesting, and the characters were very enjoyable. I laughed several times throughout it. Sometimes I got frustrated with Rosie, but I could stay mad at her for long because I understood her too much in a way and understood why she made the decisions she did. I loved the romance in this. Booker and Rosie are so cute together and I love love love them. The ending was really cute and I had a great time reading this. If you’re looking for a fun and more lighthearted romcom read I would recommend this one!

I've recently gotten into Courtney Walsh's books, and this one was another awesome read! Everything’s Coming Up Rosie is a funny, feel-good rom-com about Rosie Waterman, a lovable mess who’s been chasing her acting dreams without much luck. When she moves back home feeling like a failure, she ends up directing a Cinderella play—except it’s at a retirement home, and her cast is all senior citizens. It’s definitely not what she pictured, but it turns out to be exactly what she needs. As Rosie deals with her quirky cast and reflects on her life, she starts to realize success might look different than she thought.

Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC!

⭐️ 4/5
First person POV, single narrative - Rosie
Linear timeline
FMC- Rosie, MMC- Booker
Romantic comedy - MF Closed door romance
Setting: Door County, WI

Everything’s Coming Up Rosie has Courtney Walsh’s classic touch of charm, humor, and closed door romance. The pace was also slowly moving at first, and I wish there was a little more emotional depth in the romantic relationship, and a lot more steam!
Readers will still find this a fun, cozy read and feeling warm inside. It was such a unique storyline with the retirement community setting and the theme of theater was a lot of fun. I related to Rosie’s character development that had me reflecting on my own personal hardships and life goals.

Everything's Coming Up Rosie--the title is also a summary of the conclusion in the best possible way. Just like what we've come to expect from a Courtney Walsh novel, this story delivered in the same delightful way.

We meet the MMC when Rosie first arrives in Door County, Wisconsin. I was immediately "shipping" them and found Booker to be just as endearing as all the resident women did. :) We, as readers, put the pieces together faster than Rosie that she has agreed to a stint working as a play director in a retirement community. (It was honestly surprising how long it took Rosie to figure this out or question things more and I'm not sure why Booker seemed to be coy about it and not just verify she knew where she was when she was asking strange questions.)

I loved Rosie's attitude throughout the book and we see her grow as a human as she evaluates her priorities and what she really loves about the ways she's been spending her life. She doesn't let the grumps bring her down. I also loved her friendships with the seniors and how they nurtured and supported her (and she them.)

The slow burn between Rosie and Booker was *chefs kiss* and the way I was tearing up at the end had me wondering what kind of happily ever after we would get. Don't worry, it's an awesome ending for all the characters.

I recommend this for women's fiction fans and those who love slow burn closed door romances.

Love how wholesome, sweet, and endearing Walsh’s books are. You immediately fall in love with Rosie and then love watch her falling in love. The cast of characters are so well developed. I wanted to climb inside this book and spend a summer here! Enjoy!

This was a delightful read! I thoroughly enjoyed the setting, the camaraderie among friends, and the residents of the retirement community. Rosie’s sisterly bond with Dylan was absolutely adorable! The story included humor, romance, and impressive character development.

I highly recommend it for anyone seeking a heartwarming experience.

4.5 stars! A perfectly timed read that tugged at all the right heartstrings. This book found its way to me at just the right moment. I saw so much of myself in Rosie—navigating life on a different path while feeling like everyone else is effortlessly thriving. That struggle is real, and Rosie made it feel so relatable.

I’ll admit, the first few chapters were a bit slow, and I wasn’t totally sold at first. But the moment Rosie met Booker? I was hooked. Sure, the buildup to discovering where she was working dragged a little too long, but once the story found its rhythm, I couldn’t put it down.

As someone who loves old people, I found the cast of characters, especially Arthur, absolutely endearing. The dynamic between Rosie and Booker was a highlight—full of banter, teasing, and real chemistry (though I have to say… Booker as a name? Not my favorite).

My only real gripe is that the production and cleanup of the show started to overshadow the romance for a stretch, but the payoff was still worth it. At its core, this book is a beautiful celebration of found family. I laughed, I cried, and I walked away feeling like I’d just spent time with dear friends.

Oh, Courtney, you have worked your magic once again. Everything’s Coming Up Rosie was charming and witty and down right adorable!

Rosie Waterman had big dreams, but those dreams just haven’t been working out for her. An aspiring actor, she is struggling to make ends meet, while her friends are all out there living life to the fullest. But she never lets on about the way things truly are, she is always playing a part. The friend with no problems, no disappointments, no worries. In an act of desperation, she applies to more jobs than she can count and luckily receives an offer that is a lifeline to her sinking spirits. Until she shows up and realizes that it is not the job she signed up for. With no other options and a stubborn will to succeed, Rosie digs in to produce a show for the ages—or actually the aged.

This story was absolutely wonderful! Courtney does such a fantastic job with character development and depth. You can’t help but fall in love with each one of them. And hope to have a friend or a family member as fun and sweet or endearing (read “occasionally curmudgeony”).

Rosie’s journey was reflective and eye opening. She learned so much about herself and what true contentment is. Plans can change, dreams can evolve, and happiness can be found in the most unexpected places. Rosie’s story was very relatable and relevant.

Enjoyed this one immensely and if you loved Isadora then you’re sure to love this one.

Thank you NetGalley and Thomas Nelson for the advanced copy. All opinions at my own.

From start to finish, I was hooked. I was looking for something that felt like chick lit with a LOT of heart, small town vibes, and this delivered. I didn't feel like I was being preached to but there was something wholly good and inspiring in the message. of "how to find your purpose after your dreams change." This is for the girlies who love stories about reinvention!

This was a sweet, heartwarming story about big dreams and found family. I loved Rosie's character development, her friendship with Arthur, learning about the theatre, and the romance. This book has a lot going for it and I will definitely be recommending it and reading whatever Courtney Walsh writes next!

“The words burrow down deep inside me and start to take root, and I hope I remember to water them because I really want to see what they grow.”

Rosie Waterman is a Midwest girl who moved to New York City with dreams of being an actress. About a decade later, and she is still waiting, working “acting adjacent” jobs to make ends meet. A rush of panic with bills to pay, she goes on a applications filling binge, and— while home for a friend’s baby shower— accepts the job, even though she basically forgot anything about it. She’s desperate though, so off Rosie goes to Door County and the Sunset Players.

I have been reading Courtney Walsh’s books for years, and they’re always a good read. You could easily see them as Hallmark movies, but they’re “meatier”. There’s depth to her characters and growth that I always love. Last year’s “The Happy Life of Isadora Bentley” fit more into the women’s fiction genre than romance, and “Coming Up Rosie” is a solid follow up to Isadora Bentley. I’m here for it! Don’t get me wrong— there’s still a sweet romance— and Booker is great, but this story is about Rosie’s growth.

Imposter syndrome. Being vulnerable. Friendship. Going after a dream. Pivoting when life changes. (“Pivoting isn’t quitting.”) Being present in the moment. Processing buried feelings. There are so many relatable points of Rosie’s story. And she’s such a likable FMC. You are rooting for her. And the secondary characters— the aforementioned Booker, Arthur, Connie, Daisy, Louie, Bertie, all the “cast”, and Rosie’s BFFs from childhood.

This was a great read!

Courtney Walsh is an auto buy author for me & I loved her newest book, Everything's Coming Up Rosie, so much! The main character, Rosie, was so loveable & one many women will identify with. Cute, quick romance read.

Thank you to NetGalley, the author, & the publisher for an ARC copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

This is a difficult review to write. For the first 50% I really wasn’t enjoying this one. I found our main character annoying and not very bright. I also very much disliked the way she lied to her friends and seemed to be pretty stuck up. The second half of this book I found far more enjoyable. Obviously Rosie has some character growth (but her being annoying in the first half is still a genuine complaint) And the story becomes more engaging.

While I didn’t like the “insta love” vibes in the romance to start off with, I do think they end up being pretty cute together. This book falls right in the middle of general fiction and romance. It’s both not enough romance to be a full on romance book, but at the same time I find it doesn’t focus enough on the other aspects and characters for it to feel like a true general fiction.

Some things that I didn’t enjoy: the name Booker (no offence to anyone with that name, but sometimes in the audiobook it sounded like booger), the pacing of the story, the writing and metaphors were a bit weak. I would have liked even more theatre references and maybe have them included in a way that didn’t feel as disjointed.

One aspect that was a stand out for me is the arc with Arthur. It genuinely almost made me cry and felt very special. I wish other relationships with the people involved in the cast would have been developed in a similar way.

From the author note this feels like a quite personal story and so I don’t want to critique it too harshly, while also still giving my honest opinion on the book.

If you are looking for a quick read about a woman who feels like her life in the theatre industry is becoming a bit of a mess, finding her way, and finding love, this could be the one for you!

Thank you netgalley for this eARC. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

As with everything Courtney Walsh writes, Everything's Coming Up Rosie was pure joy to read! Rosie Waterman dreams of working in theatre but has a fledgling career despite years of hustle, so she jumps at the chance to direct a regional theatre production in Wisconsin... which turns out to be at a retirement community with inexperienced senior citizens as actors. The romance aspect took the backseat to Rosie's self-development journey, which I actually enjoyed, and the various characters were such a delight to get to know. Rosie exudes effervescence, uncertainty, and pluck in equal measure, and I highly recommend this book if you're looking for joyful and inspiring women's fiction with a whole lot of heart!

Thank you to Thomas Nelson Fiction for gifting me with an ARC to review. All opinions are my own.

The audio of this book was adorable and was the reason I remained so vested in the book! The relationships throughout this book made me laugh and also relate to! This will be a great summer beach read!

Put this rom-com in your summer beach bag! Readers looking for a super sweet romance are in for a real treat. This is such a charming and funny story, and it kept me turning the pages. Rose is relatable and did I mention charming? Booker is a great love interest for her. I liked following along as Rosie tries to improve her life and get back on track. The theater storyline is wonderful, and Walsh does a terrific job of including characters at various ages. There are some laugh-out-loud moments.
