This book was so revelatory for me. In our culture of social media it is so easy to be influenced by other people’s views of what the good life should look like and to set goals for myself that are unrealistic. The main character, Rosie, has a big dream of becoming a Broadway stage star and despite her exceptional talent and drive, she has fallen short of the expectations set by herself and others. In order to pay her bills, she took a summer job as a director at a regional theatre in Wisconsin with the promise to herself that she would get right back to the grind of auditions in NYC at the end of the summer but she found herself growing from the experience and enjoying the job and the new friends she had made, especially a man who had become more than a friend. Her dilemma was to figure out if it is okay to pivot, to change her dream for something different or if it would just be settling. I loved the way her question was resolved in this story. It made me examine some of my own goals. I loved it and highly recommend! I received a complimentary copy from the publisher. All opinions expressed as strictly my own.

I really enjoyed this book. Courtney Walsh writes such real characters. I could identify with Rosie, where it feels like everyone else around you has grown up, and you're still figuring it out.

I loved the seniors, and Booker is a great fit for Rosie! This is a great closed door romance.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the e-ARC of the book. This review is my own opinion.

I read The Summer of Yes last year, and I was disappointed. This one fared a little better for me. Rosie is an unemployed actress, and she has to move out of her apartment, so she decides to go home to visit. While there, she notices all her friends have been busy with careers, husbands and having babies. She starts to question if she should let go of her dream. She then gets a Job as a director at a small theatre in Wisconsin, not her beloved New York, and the actors are all senior citizens!

Walsh wrote a truly heartwarming tale of a woman who discovers you can’t always get what you want, but if you try sometime, you just might find you get what you need. The best part of the book is the fact that it is marketed as a romance, BUT the romance takes a back seat. It deftly blends humour with relatable struggles, and I loved that Rosie found her true calling even if it was in the most unlikely place.

This was such a fun read with a charming cast of characters. What more can you ask for in a book? It was funny and campy and filled with dad jokes. An excellent palate cleanser after a bunch of heavy reads, I have The Happy Life of Isadora Bentley in my to-read pile, and I look forward to it.

This was the sweetest book ever!! I loved all of the characters so much. Rosie was relatable, Booker was just too amazing, and all of the people at the retirement community were just THE CUTEST!! This was such a feel good, happy, light and refreshing story that I absolutely needed in my life!!

Thanks to NetGalley and Courtney Walsh for this ARC.

To be honest, I struggled to get into this one. I requested the book because it seemed cute and was categorized as a romance, but if you're hoping for a traditional love story, you might find it lacking. The story focuses more on Rosie and her personal journey than on her romantic life (but if you're looking for a kind character who goes through personal growth, this might be a great match). It was instalove, which isn’t my favorite. Overall cute, but a bit too slow-paced and uneventful for my liking.

This is not a fun book at all. I wanted to get into it but the writing style and slow pacing just was painful for me. I also felt no connection or attachment to Rosie and her character even though I really wanted to!

I'm never one to tell people not to read a book, so I think everyone should read this and form their own opinion but for me personally this just didn't hit at all.

Everything’s Coming Up Rosie by Courtney Walsh is an absolutely delightful women’s fiction romance! Courtney is a favorite author of mine because she writes such believable characters that feel so real to me. They are dealing with life and all that goes along with that, and I find I learn something along the way to apply to my own life. She also writes incredible romantic leading men and manages to create the perfect amount of tension and swoon worthiness while keeping it totally chaste!
.
In Rosie’s story we find a lady who is failing in her attempt to find her dreams as an actress in NYC, and not being honest with her true friends about her realities. She takes a summer theatre job in Door County, Wisconsin, a job that she really didn’t read the description for because it paid well and it was a theatre. The surprise reality makes for a great read! There were so many characters to love and so much wisdom to be gained. I loved the way this story unfolded and I loved watching Rosie grow as a person. The ending was everything I could have wanted!
.
The narration by Jorjeana Marie was perfect! Her reading was so fun and she made the characters come to life! I read this in both the audio and physical and really enjoyed the tandem experience!
.
I recommend this for romance lovers yes, but even if you are not particularly into romance yet you love a good women’s fiction about a woman coming into her own. This would be a great vacation read or lazy summer day read. Although it can be read anytime of year!

This was a cute story about an aspiring actress named Rosie who found her dreams while working at a senior Community Resort. The book was full of humorous Rosie moments, fun and flirty banter between Rosie and Booker, and wonderful characters. It had a more serious undertone than Courtney’s other books, but it ended on a happy note🎵 - pun intended! I loved watching Rosie’s character develop throughout the story. I also loved seeing Rosie bring out Arthur’s soft side.

I was also able to listen to the audiobook ⭐️⭐️⭐️ narrated by Jorjeana Marie. She had a great reading voice but struggled a bit with distinguishing voices between the different characters.

Thank you NetGalley, and Thomas Nelson for the ARC in exchange for my honest opinion. A big thank you to Zondervan Fiction Audio for the audiobook!

I absolutely adore Courtney Walsh, but this one fell a little short for me. The story seemed to drag, I didn't particularly love any of the characters or the theatre setting. I did love Booker, but that's where my love ended. It was a cute read, but not my favorite.

Thank you NetGalley for the copy of this book, all opinions are my own.

Title: Everything's Coming Up Rosie
Author: Courtney Walsh
Pub Date: June 10, 2025

I always know Courtney's books will be sure to put me in a good mood! This one was especially sweet and fun, though!

Rosie Waterman's dreams of becoming an actress continue to be squashed as one thing falls apart in her life after another. While her friends are off doing wild and exciting things, Rosie is stuck in Wisconsin (LOL). As a Wisconsinite who loves her state, I thought that the whole concept of her being "stuck" in Door County, WI working a job for a retirement home theater was hilarious. Personally, living in Door County sounds like a dream, but I get it, I get it!

I love stories based around retirement homes and I love books based in Wisconsin, so this was right up my alley! I thought the senior citizens were totally entertaining and it was a joy watching Rosie learn so much about herself and grow so much during her time with them.

I think this was a perfect blend between women's fiction and romance. The romance aspect was organic and blended in so well with the rest of story!

If you love sweet and tender romances, books revolving around senior citizens, theater vibes, themes of resilience and following your dreams, this one is for you!

Thank you to @netgalley, @thomasnelson, and @zondervan for the ebook of Everything’s Coming Up Rosie by Courtney Walsh; all opinions are my own.

Sometimes I need a shot of sunshine in a book, and that’s what I received with Everything’s Coming Up Rosie. Rosie is not thriving as an actor in New York and accepts the first job she is offered without reading the fine (or bold) print.

“I don’t believe in accidents. So if you’re here, then you’re here for a reason. And I’m betting there is something here for you too.” There is so much there for her!

This book has so many characters and relationships, including my favorite- the spunky elderly! Everyone has a story. Rosie and Booker have the cutest, most fun conversations, and this contains the third act of my dreams. I had chills at one point!

In the “About the Author” of her books, it mentions that Walsh owns a performing arts studio and youth theatre. I’ve been waiting for this to play a prominent role in one of her books. While reading, I didn’t feel like anything was researched, it was KNOWN.

Publishing June 10, 2025, today! I recommend!

Booker may consider giving it 2/10 stars but I give it 5/5 stars!

I loved this book and the audio fit Rosie so well! Rosie was so relatable and I really enjoyed the many side characters throughout. A beautiful story full of sadness, joy, laughter, and of course some swoon!

Everything about this book was a complete delight from the story itself, to the setting, and most of all, the characters. This colorful cast of characters will make you laugh, smile and maybe even tear up at times.

Rosie Waterman's dream of being a successful actor is seemingly in the toilet at this point in her life. She is headed home from New York City with her tail tucked between her legs, although she has told no one that things are not quite as glittery as she hoped. When she receives an offer to be on the creative team in Door County, Wisconsin with a nice salary, which also includes housing, she is hopeful this could be the start of building her dream. Rosie should have read the fine print because this theatre company is in a retirement community and their production of Cinderella is nothing like what she was thinking. Her first thought is how can we do Cinderella with a bunch of old people? Rosie is about to get an education.

This book was truly a joy to read. Rosie soon learns that she may not know as much about life as she first believed, and who better to teach her lessons than those who have lived a lot longer that she has. This was a journey of self-discovery for someone who had been a little single-minded in her approach to her career and her life. I cannot say enough good things about this wonderful book. It was fantastic!

Thank you to Thomas Nelson Fiction and NetGalley for this ARC. I am leaving this review voluntarily.

This book was an absolute delight to read! Beautifully told, this book explores themes of joy and community, and I laughed many times and cried while reading it.

This book really touched my heart because I related so much to Rosie in certain ways. My life is very different from her story, but I felt like I could see myself in her sometimes, in what she said and felt. It felt very cathartic to read about Rosie, and I highlighted a lot of lines! I know this is a book I’ll be thinking about for awhile.

I laughed so many times while reading! Rosie has many hilarious misadventures, and the banter was fun and delightful. I also teared up several times. Not because something was sad, but because it just touched me so much! I love found family in books, and the found family in this story is absolutely fantastic. I loved the main characters and the side characters, and I appreciated how well they were all written! They all seemed so real, like I could go visit them for lunch and hang out with them sometime.

I had a hard time putting this book down, and it’s one I know I will want to reread in the future! It is beautiful, fun, romantic, funny, and touching, and I loved every moment of reading it!

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

I have now read MANY of Courtney’s books, and I will tell you this: you’ll enjoy them if you love witty, sweet, closed door love stories with happy endings.

This book is about a girl who takes on a job without even really looking at the job description after auditioning for years trying to get her big break. This is a story of self-doubt and trying to reach your dreams. It’s a love story. It’s a story about self discovery. It’s deeply relatable.

As usual I can count on Walsh to provide a fun, light-hearted, hopeful romance with interesting, albeit flawed, characters. Rosie discovers (finally) more about her true self and desires in this tale set against the backdrop of a theater job with some unexpected helpers and participants. I like that I know what to expect with a Walsh book...clean with a happy ending.
Thanks to NetGalley and Thomas Nelson for this ARC. All opinions are mine.

If you are looking for something light, fun, where you find yourself laughing out loud, where you have to try and explain to the people around you why you are laughing, but also something with some depth, please pick up this book!

I enjoyed every moment I spent with Rosie. She was a fun character, and within her struggles to find her way back to the love of her dream, she managed to influence others, especially one serious brooding man of wisdom, with her bubbliness and lightness.

I just loved Booker. He was able to meet Rosie where she was at, moved on her speed, but pushed her to think deeper and reach for her dreams.

In Everything’s Coming Up Rosie, Rosie is an actor living in NYC who lost both her job and her apartment in the same day. She goes home, puts on a brave face for her friends, and applies to any job even remotely related to her profession. When she’s offered a director role for a regional theater’s production of Cinderella, she literally jumps at the chance, moving to Wisconsin without asking any other questions. Only after she arrives does she realize that the production is taking place at a retirement community with a cast and crew of senior citizens. (Not *exactly* what she had in mind.)

This was such a sweet, fun read! And I really enjoyed the audio narration, too. Walsh has such a gift for creating a place and cast of characters that really immerse you in the story. I really love musical theater, so I was very happy to feel like I was a part of this production family! I adored Rosie and thought the way she overcame her own self-doubt was so inspiring to read. She learned that dreams can change and that reimagining them doesn’t mean you gave up. I think that’s such an important message and one that I definitely needed to read.

This is the perfect fun, lighthearted read for summer. And it even has a splash of romance mixed in! I really enjoyed it.

Happy Pub Day Rosie!

Rosie is trying to make it big as an actress, but just can’t seem to catch that big break.  That is until she is offered a spot on the creative team for Cinderella she hopes this just might be what sets her of the right path.  While it isn’t acting, she has zero other offers, and at least it is still in the theatre world, so she accepts.  But she should have read the fine print, because this production is nothing as she expected.  But maybe it might be just what she needs to figure out her dreams.

Out today, this is a perfect book for those who love:
🎭Theatre and Musicals
🎭Supportive Friends and Found Family
🎭Quirky Side Characters
🎭Personal Growth
🎭Closed Door Romance
🎭Finding or Redefining Your Dreams

Thank you Courtney Walsh, Netgalley, and Thomas Nelson Publishing for this advance readers copy to enjoy and review.
