This was an easy, feel-good read, written with a lot of heart and, you’ll know why when you read the author's note. I found the beginning to be a bit slow but once I got into it, it was a pleasant story.

Read this sweet book when it publishes June 10.

A sweet, funny story about life’s unexpected surprises, friendship, and romance. This book is filled with delightful characters who bring the story to life. I found myself laughing out loud several times and at other times, groaning at the main character, Rosie, wanting her to see what was right in front of her.

Courtney Walsh’s stories never fail to entertain and touch me. I think we can all see a little of ourselves in the Rosie and learn through her journey. Life’s unexpected turns can sometimes be the exact thing we need.

This story is absolutely delightful! It is a must read!

I was given a complimentary copy of this book by the publisher through NetGalley. All opinions expressed are completely my own.

I’m not gonna lie, when I first started this book, I wasn’t sure if I loved it because of how unserious it was or hated it for how silly it was. But the more into the book I got, the more I loved it. It definitely reads more like a women’s fiction that a romance (though there is a sub plot of that) but it was more. It was about found family and the complexities of friendship and passion and art and growing up. It was about finding yourself even in the UNEXPECTED. It touched me way deeper than I imagined and I loved it. It still was a little silly for my taste, but that’s okay. It was overall a great book and I would definitely recommend it. Good job Courtney Walsh! Here’s to another great one.

Courtney Walsh has quickly become an autoread for me, and I couldn’t wait to dive into Everything’s Coming Up Rosie.

Like Walsh’s other works, Rosie’s development is central to the story, with a delightful romance playing close second string. Rosie’s sense of disillusionment with her life, as her friends hit typical ‘success’ milestones is so relatable. I also love the way Walsh plays with characters of different ages and perspectives. Rosie is hit with a dash of humility when she finds herself directing a play for an old folks home, but it’s the perfect way for her to explore her relationship with acting, and discover some hard truths.

Rosie’s chemistry with Booker is so sweet and I loved their earnest and honest relationship. There was a wonderful maturity in their dynamic which was so satisfying. The story was well paced, and had just the right balance of unpredictability and dependability for a rom com.

Thank you to the publishers for an early copy of this book. Opinions expressed are my own.

This was cute but I had a hard time engaging with the story. The pacing felt a bit off and the FMC felt a bit immature for her late 20s. Although I’m not sure if it was for the narrator on audio or if the actual character. It also felt like the romance was a subplot instead of the main plot which for a romcom I feel is a bit off. Overall cute and light story with a HEA.

Thank you to Net Galley and the publisher for both an e-arc and audio arc.

I loved Everything's Coming Up Rosie! Rosie's struggles and lessons are so relatable, and cause the reader to root for her from the very beginning. I adored the ensemble of characters surrounding Rosie. Each contributed something unique to the story, helping Rosie, and the storyline, in their own way. The romance between Rosie and Booker was absolutely adorable. You won't want to miss this one!

Rosie has spent the last seven years trying to make it big as an actress in New York, but she spends most of her time doing auditions and waiting for the phone to ring, and doing odd jobs. A trip home to see her best friends finds her having trouble admitting this to them, as they all think she lives a glamourous life in New York.

After desperately sending resumes to anyone and everyone she is excited to get a job on a creative team to produce a production of Cinderella in Wisconsin. Excited until she realizes its for the Sunset Hills Retirement Community and there is no creative team, just Rosie and a lot of senior citizens. There is also a hunky Physical therapist, a teenage girl who blossoms under Rosies attention, and a retired theatre manager that is not what he originally seems.

Rosie has a lot of self confidence issues, which I often get impatient with, but in this novel it was fun to watch Rosie grow and learn from the people around her. I found this a perfect blend of found family, coming of age, friendship and romance. Although it may be too sweet and predictable for some, it was perfect for me, and just like Courtney Walsh's last two novels I enjoyed every minute of it. Thank you to net galley and Thomas Nelson fiction for the e galley of this sweet story.

If you’re looking for a sweet, light hearted romcom then Courtney Walsh is your girl! I’ve really enjoyed everything by her that I’ve read, and Rosie was no different.

Rosie wants nothing more than to be a successful actor, but when all of her plans fall apart and she’s forced to look everywhere and anywhere for her next gig. When she’s offered a directing job for a production of Cinderella Rosie jumps at the chance to get one foot back on the stage. She soon realizes this production is not what she expected.

I really enjoyed Rosie’s story! At the beginning of the book she starts in a place of relatable self doubt and constant comparisons. She wants to live a life that people will be proud of. I’m being vague just in case people want to be surprised — but her shock when she found out how unique her production would be and the fun setting of this story won me over. And Booker was also a fun addition. ;)

I really enjoyed this book!! I loved all the characters and the friendships between them all!! I absolutely love musical theatre so it made me so happy to read about the good, the bad and the ugly that goes along with it.
I really loved and appreciated that the author wrote a really relatable character like Rosie, who struggles with a lot of self doubt. I have felt a lot like her at times in my life.

Courtney Walsh is always my go to suggestion when someone is looking for a sweet, swoony, make you think romance (like deeper meaning is built in).

I will say, the story did start a bit slow for me, but once it picked up, I couldn't put the book down.
I loved the revelations that were discovered individually, with friends, with loved ones. This book demonstrates how we evolve as we grow. The romance is a subplot in this story but oh so sweet, I loved Booker.

This story focuses on Rosie accepting a job (that she conducted limited research on) and failing like shes failed to achieve her true dreams. She discovers along the way that dreams can change and that is OKAY!

Favorite Quotes
“You want to do crazy things?” “Don’t you?” She grabs both my hands. “That’s where the good stuff is, Rosie. That’s how we know we’re alive!”

"It’s the hard stuff that makes the good stuff so much sweeter.”

“Now that we’ve fully established that we’re all making things up as we go . . .” - I loved how relatable this was. The girls all talking together realizing that being an adult is just figuring things out.

Thank you to Courtney Walsh, NetGalley, and Thomas Nelson for the ARC! Releasing June 10th

Everything’s Coming Up Rosie by Courtney Walsh is a heartfelt, uplifting rom-com that feels like a cozy hug in book form. I couldn’t put it down!
Rosie has always played it safe, managing her family's floral business and taking care of everyone else. But when life throws her a curveball—and a chance encounter with grumpy-but-charming Dominic—she’s forced to step outside her comfort zone and finally start living for herself.
Courtney Walsh has a gift for writing characters that feel real, layered, and lovable. Rosie is sweet, relatable, and stronger than she gives herself credit for. Dominic? Total book boyfriend material—guarded but deeply loyal, and his slow-burn romance with Rosie had me swooning.
What I especially loved was the perfect balance of humor, heart, and healing. There are laugh-out-loud moments, a cast of quirky but endearing side characters, and themes of self-worth, forgiveness, and taking chances.
If you're a fan of small-town charm, emotional depth, and feel-good romances with just the right amount of sass and sweetness, Everything’s Coming Up Rosie is a must-read. I devoured it in a day and immediately wanted more!
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the advanced copy. All thoughts are my own.

This is a standalone, kisses only contemporary romcom.

The story we have here is of following your dreams and learning where those dreams can take us. The book has elements of women's fiction in it, but there are also themes of romance and friendship. I was more invested in the second half of the book when the action and romance seemed to pick up for me.

The cast of characters adds many humorous and sometimes poignant moments. I personally don't know a lot about acting and theater work, but I know that this author has that in her background. The connection she has really lends weight to the story. The reader can tell that the story comes from her heart and not from research.

I think that many will be able to relate to Rosie and the inner conflicts she deals with personally and professionally. She has many supportive people in her life, if she can only recognize that fact. Perhaps that's a big lesson for all of us to take to heart.

I was a little disappointed that the advanced digital copy I received did not have the author's note or acknowledgements in it.

I did receive an advanced e-book from Thomas Nelson and Netgalley. I am happily leaving an honest review.

4.5 stars rounded up

Thank you Thomas Nelson for the gifted ebook and audiobook.

Thinking of this book as a romance, I’d give it 2.5-3 stars. As women’s fiction, though, it’s more of a 4 or 4.25. The cutesy illustrated cover and Courtney Walsh’s name had me expecting more of a romcom, but that’s not quite what this is — and that’s okay. Overall, 3.5 stars.

The heart of the story is Rosie’s personal journey, and that part really shines. She works through her self-doubt, reconnects with best friends, and learns to let go of all the “shoulds” she’s been carrying. The community around Rosie, especially the quirky old folks, is charming, and I especially loved the special bond between Rosie and one elderly gentleman who both save each other, in a way.

The romance between Rosie and Booker, on the other hand, felt like more of a side note. They have a few meaningful moments, including a surprise date his grandma orchestrates, but overall their relationship didn’t feel well developed and lacked all trace of chemistry.

This is a great pick for readers who enjoy women’s fiction with light romance — heartfelt and full of growth but not heavy on the love story.

4.5 Stars! A sweet, tender closed-door story!!

Thank you Thomas Nelson and Zondervan Fiction Audio for my #gifted ALC. All opinions are my own.

Rosie lost her job and her career on the same day. Coming to the end of one acting disappointment after another, she leaves New York City and heads back home to regroup. Seeing that her friends have their lives together, she doesn't feel like she can be honest with them about the state of her life or how things have been, so she keeps up her "act" that everything is fine.

When she gets a job offer to direct a play in Wisconsin, she immediately jumps on it and heads out. Little does she know the play isn't in the theatre she was thinking, it's actually in a retirement community and the actors are members of the community with little to no acting experience.

The setting of the retirement community and Rosie's newly formed friendship with their resident physical therapist begin a journey of growth for her. She realizes she's been chasing a dream based on a comment made to her during a traumatic time as a child. Her job as director pushes her to find more of her potential and the supportive community she becomes a part of help her determine what she wants her future to look like.

It's a heartfelt story with struggles, growth and newly found family. The romance is tender and built around a newly formed friendship.

I love that Courtney Walsh showed the behind-the-scenes experience of putting on a play production from their years of owning a performing arts studio.

Romance content: Closed-door, just kissing!

4.5 stars, rounded up.

This is a sweet and fun story with a lot of heart and a quirky cast of characters!

When struggling actress Rosie is kicked out of her New York City apartment after missing one too many rent payments, she panics and applies for every job remotely related to the theatre and sends in self-tapes for every role she can find. In her desperation, Rosie accepts a job as a member of the creative team for a regional theatre company called the Sunset Playhouse without reading too many details. When she arrives in Door County, Wisconsin to start her new job, she is shocked to find out that she is not working for the Sunset Playhouse, but the Sunset Players, the theatre program at a retirement community. And, she is not just a member of the creative team, but the director. Between overly-opinionated seniors, an attractive physical therapist, and her first time directing since college, Rosie has her work cut out for her.

Rosie wrestles with what it means when life doesn't turn out how she imagined it would while she works hard to produce a gray-haired version of Rogers and Hammerstein's Cinderella.

I absolutely recommend Everything's Coming Up Rosie!

Thank you to Thomas Nelson Fiction, Zondervan Fiction Audio, and Netgalley for the free audio and ebook copies of this book!

I love Courtney Walsh! I didn’t enjoy this one quite as much as the Happy Life of Isadora Bentley and The Summer of Yes, but it was still a fun, sweet romance. I loved the intergenerational characters and the found family vibe.

Everything's Coming Up Rosie is a chick-lit centered around a senior citizen community theater. I find Courtney Walsh's writing style easy to read and enjoyed many of the side characters. However, I did not like some of the main character's decisions/personality traits and was unable to connect to the romance portion. Overall, I still recommend this book to fans of Courtney Walsh or fans of theater.

I enjoyed narration performed by Jorjeana Marie.

I received an ARC and ALC from Thomas Nelson Fiction | Thomas Nelson and Thomas Nelson and Zondervan Fiction Audio in exchange for an honest review.

Everything’s Coming Up Rosie was such a sweet and heartwarming read! Rosie is a lovable main character, and I really enjoyed watching her grow throughout the story. There were moments where I really felt for her, my heart ached but also understood what it meant for her to feel like she couldn’t be as honest with those closest to her.. Her personal growth in this story was top tier and I enjoyed the theme around taking risks and living in the moment instead of always stressing about what’s next. I loved how Rosie found herself and built new friendships that feel like they’ll last a lifetime with people who she never thought could become the type friends she needed.

I enjoyed watching her relationship with Booker bloom into what it was. I really liked Booker because he was supportive and let Rosie make her own choices and encouraged her to do what would make her happy even if it meant something would change for them— that as big of him! Oh and the reason he lived where he lived— so sweet!

Overall, it’s a charming, feel-good book about self-discovery, friendship, following your heart and being honest and vulnerable no matter what others think. Definitely worth the read! 🥹🫶🏾

I would give it more than 5 stars if I could! I absolutely loved it! Everything's Coming up Rosie is Delightful, funny, and heartwarming. All the feels!

"WELL SHOOT. This isn't how my life is supposed to go." Rosie Waterman's goal in life is to be an actor. "Thanks to the many, many phone calls from my perpetually worried mother, I've perfected the fine art of making my life sound shinier that it is. I call it....creative storytelling."

"There's no way I'm letting people see that I'm a failure, I'm an actor. Time for the role of my life." Those are her thoughts as she leaves New York to go home to see her best friends Taylor, Marnie, and Maya, and reevaluate her life. "My heart aches, I want to tell them the truth so badly. I want to give up and admit that my life is in the toilet, that I'm virtually homeless, and that I'm very close to quitting the only dream I've ever had. But I can't say any of it. The fear of disappointing them is too great."

In the nick of time before she decides to come clean with her friends, Rosie gets a wonderful job offer in Door County in Wisconsin. She accepts the job without really reading the fine print because she is desperate. She does not understand what she's walking into. What she finds ends up being a place where she grows more than she ever thought she could. "That's part of the adventure. If everything was good all the time, you wouldn't appreciate any of it. It's the hard stuff that makes the good stuff so much sweeter."

The supporting cast of characters is delightful, and Booker, oh man, he is perfect for Rosie. From when he picks her up at the bus stop, he accepts her weirdness with humor and friendship, and gets her to ask herself honest questions once a week. They are so adorable together. 'Because there's something about Booker that makes me want to drop the act. To stop pretending." The fact that Booker moved to this retirement community as a physical therapist to be near his Grandma is one more lovable thing about him. And she is a hoot.

Rosie is so funny. At a time when I needed a good laugh, a "stuck in the mud" scene was hysterical!
She finds community as she directs Cinderella at the retirement community, she finds a mentor, and she herself sees possibilities in others and helps bring them out.

I can't recommend Everything's Coming Up Rosie enough!! More than 5 stars for me. You will love it!

Thank you to Thomas Nelson and Net Galley for allowing me to read an early copy. All opinions are my own.

Courtney Walsh is one of my favorite feel-good authors. She writes (in her own words) low spice, cozy romance novels. While I think this book is more of a feel-good inspiring novel about remembering your dreams and finding your voice in a sea of self-doubt, I think the touch of romance within this book can qualify it for the love category. This one on audiobook is just so good. I read the e-book and audiobook together and found the audiobook added that extra "oomph" that the narrator could bring to all the characters. Especially the octogenarians. There are so many touching moments and personalities and she really brings home the idea of being your authentic self. That's such a valuable lesson to take from any story because I think woman especially tend to be people pleasers and this can lead us to do things for others without thinking about what we really want. I loved the message and the love letter to theatre that I know is a vital part of Courtney's world personally. This is such a cute one! I would say this would make a great pallet cleanser between books that might have difficult themes or sad stories as this one feels bright and full of joy. It really put me in such a great mood!
