This book was so cute, funny, and charming. Courtney Walsh has now become an automatic read for me. Rosie was so fun. I absolutely loved all of the characters in this rom-com.

Delightful, uplifting story! As we all live in a world filled with challenges, Courtney Walsh delivers a wonderful book that just makes me feel good!
Rosie Waterman, a struggling aspiring actor in NYC spontaneously accepts a job at a regional theater in Door County, Wisconsin. Once there, Rosie realizes she should have paid more attention to the job description- as it is actually at a retirement community and all of the actors are senior citizens. Rosie also is the sole member of the “creative team” who is responsible for saving the theater program and questions whether or not she is up to the challenge.
The Summer ends up being a transformative one for Rosie, with themes of found family, friendship, and romance. The cast of characters is delightful! Through it all, Rosie reckons with her past and figures out what she truly values in life.
Highly recommend!
Thank you to the publisher and to NetGalley for the opportunity to read advanced copy of this book.

A sweet and endearing story about following your dreams but not losing yourself and your happiness along the way.
Rosie moved to New York to become an actress and was met with the hard truth that not everybody gets the big break. She moves home after seven years and is discouraged with where she is in life compared to her friends who all seem to be crushing it. She gets offered a job in Wisconsin as a theatre director, which she hastily accepts. The job and community is not what she was expecting.
It’s an uphill battle to convince the cast and herself that she has what it takes. She rally’s a team of unsuspecting people and makes it all come together. I loved the friendships between Arthur and Rosie and Rosie and Dylan. The generational passing of the torch and mentorship was heartwarming.
Booker is a sweetheart who is friendly to everyone but only goes surface level deep. He meets Rosie who is also used to keeping people at surface level. They make a pact to answer honestly, questions they ask each other on Fridays. I like how patient Booker is with Rosie and how he becomes her safe space. They both let their guards down and let the other see their true selves. Their story is sweet and tender and full of the quiet moments. I do think he could have fought for her more when the time came, but I like how it all ended.
I loved the community that Rosie already had even if she took them for granted. And I like the community she created at Sunset Players. A really great story full of self discovery, friendship, chasing your dreams, and not giving up when the going gets tough.

My thanks for the ARC goes to NetGalley and Thomas Nelson Fiction. I'm voluntarily leaving a review.
Genre: Sweet Romance, Cozy Romance
Spice Level: Kissing
Level of Christianity: I would say Christianity and prayer is part of some of the characters' lives but it doesn't overwhelm the plot.
EVERYTHING'S COMING UP ROSIE evaluates dreams and ambition, and it left me pondering my own life while feeling good about Rosie's development.
I like how Rosie went from lying to herself and others to the person she was at the end.
One of the most important take aways for me was how our dreams might transform or we might pivot when we discover we actually love something else.
The side characters are vivid and fun to spend time with too.
I feel like this story focuses the most on Rosie and the romance is almost secondary to her coming-of-age moment.
Romance readers and women fiction readers will love this book. It also works for Christians and non-Christians/secular readers.
Happy reading!

I was lucky enough to be able to get an ARC ebook of this new book. I have read and loved other books by this author, so I knew I wanted to read anything else she was releasing. The story was cute and the female character very likeable. I would recommend this to others!

Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC, in exchange for an unbiased review.
In a nutshell: This book is about a teenager who goes to summer camp, and experiences growing up and first love.
Well, it's really not. But it certainly feels like that.
Which leads me to ask: WHY do we need yet another book about a white girl in her 20s (but who reads like she's 16), working in media/entertainment, who calls herself a "mess," and finds her True Self in a hot white boy with a soap-opera-worthy name (in this case, "Booker", I kid you not)?? Seriously, who are these books for? Teenagers? White girls of BookTok? Because I am so very tired of reading books about a woman-child with no confidence or maturity, whose inner monologue reads like an Afterschool Special.
My kingdom for some creativity. Please.

This book felt like stepping straight into a warm hug and never wanting to leave. Everything’s Coming Up Rosie is the best kind of corny—think Lifetime movie, but toned down on the drama and turned all the way up on charm. It’s homey, heartfelt, and full of quirky, lovable characters that feel like they could walk right off the page and into your life.
Rosie is sunshine in book form, and Booker? Let’s just say I swooned more than once. Their chemistry is cozy and sweet in all the right ways, and their moments together made me smile like a dork in public. The banter, the small-town vibes, the little oddball details—it’s all magic.
I adored every second of this one. It’s the perfect pick-me-up kind of read—like hot cocoa on a rainy day. If you love quirky romances, sweet small-town settings, and characters who feel like home, you need this on your shelf.

Courtney Walsh’s “Everything’s Coming Up Rosie” is a delightful and deeply moving novel that captures the beauty of personal growth, human connection, and the unexpected ways life can steer us toward our true selves. I had the privilege of receiving this eARC via NetGalley and Thomas Nelson Fiction in exchange for my honest review, and I’m thrilled to share my thoughts on this poignant and humorous story.
The story follows Rosie Waterman, a struggling actress in New York City, whose life takes a surprising turn when she accepts a summer job in Wisconsin. Rosie assumes she’ll join a creative team to direct a play, but upon her arrival, she discovers she’s the sole director and creative team for a production in a retirement community. To make matters even more challenging, Rosie has never directed before, and her cast consists entirely of elderly residents.
These circumstances thrust Rosie into an unfamiliar world that forces her outside her comfort zone. Along the way, she learns invaluable lessons not only about the art of theater but also about herself, her fears, and the importance of genuine connection.
Rosie is an incredibly relatable protagonist. She’s riddled with self-doubt and plagued by a fear of nearly everything—animals, insects, nature, herself, and above all, the truth. Her reluctance to confront her reality has led her to lie to her family and friends about her situation. But as the story unfolds, Rosie’s new role at the retirement community becomes a transformative experience.
Through her interactions with the residents, Rosie begins to peel back her layers of insecurity. She meets Arthur, a former director and acting coach, who becomes a mentor and helps her rediscover her own innate talents. Arthur’s wisdom teaches Rosie that while dreams might evolve, their essence can remain unchanged, rekindling her passion for storytelling in ways she never expected.
And then there’s Booker, the charming and charismatic physical therapist at the retirement home. Booker gently encourages Rosie to open herself up to love, honesty, and vulnerability, providing the perfect balance of support and humor to counterbalance her fears. Their slow-burn romance is both heartwarming and deeply satisfying.
At its core, this book is a celebration of friendship, found family, and the beauty of human connection. The residents of the retirement community, each with their own quirks and wisdom, form a “found family” for Rosie, offering her insights and inspiration as she navigates her new role and her own emotional journey.
The novel also leans into several beloved romantic and storytelling tropes, including:
· Slow Burn Romance
· Found Family
· Friends to Lovers
· Humor
Quote: “Because isn’t that what everyone wants? To love and be loved? To share a life with a person who knows all the things you don’t say out loud and chooses you anyway?”
This book is a heartwarming and uplifting story that will leave readers smiling. Rosie’s journey of self-discovery, paired with the tender romance and the vibrant personalities of the retirement community residents, makes for a fun read. The novel reminds us that even when life doesn’t go as planned, it can lead us to places—and people—we never knew we needed.
Side note: I totally pictured Emma Stone and Scott Eastwood as Rosie and Booker. And I want to live in Sunset Hills. It sounds amazing!

This was a delightful rom-com! With a few insider Broadway nods, Walsh brought the characters charming imperfections to life. I was engaged in the story from start to finish. Thank you to Net Galley for teh opportunity to read and review.

Rosie is a down on her luck actress and out of money- feels like a failure and her dreams are slipping away.
Shes desperate and asks no questions when spontaneously taking a job she might not be cut out for. Upon arrival, Rosie notices there is something strange about the residents of her new place of employment.
I was hoping she’d be more honest with her friends about how her life is going. Knowing from experience how hard it is to admit to failure, but also recognizing she is withholding important things from her core friend group, I can relate to it- and I can also see how it was needed for her character to grow.
Right from the get go Booker takes her quirkiness in stride! He doesn’t question or judge the way that she is, and just rolls with it!
The way this book spoke to me. I related to Rosie in that sometimes I feel like I’m not where I am supposed to be in my own life. I get thrown into a cycle of comparison and spiral. I was not ready to learn so much about myself in how much I related to Rosie’s fear of failure and feeling big emotions!
The real star of this show is Arthur Silverman. A grumpy old man who isn’t impressed by anything or anyone. But Rosie wins him over and his encouragement to her is so sweet.
There is very little angst when it comes to the characters in this book. From Rosie’s friendships, to Booker, to the people she meets at Sunset Hills. It’s so refreshing to have characters actually be genuinely happy for the FMC without any negative feelings getting in the way.
This book is a book for the theatre kids and the movie lovers! The references are there but aren’t over-explained! If-you-know-you-know sort of thing. Which I loved because I felt like I was part of a secret club!
This book was short and sweet, and taught me a lot about myself as well! Be ready to feel things!

“Sometimes dreams shift and change and grow, and changing along with them isn't failing. Pivoting isn't quitting. Happiness isn't linear, and seeking it isn't selfish.”
Rosie was sweet, cozy, and fun. With solid insight on what it means for our dreams to grow and evolve along with us.
Courtney also always has a way of bringing together a wonderful cast of characters that are endearing, funny, and that shape the story well. I enjoyed being a part of Sunset Hills Retirement Community for a summer.

A most excellent read from Courtney Walsh! Thank you to Courtney, NetGalley and Thomas Nelson publishing for the chance to read Everything's Coming up Rosie, in exchange for an honest review. We start by seeing Rosie at one of her lowest moments; as a struggling actress in New York, the life she imagined of becoming a legendary actress has fallen quite short. She has no job prospects, no money, and, once seeing the eviction notice/suitcase packed up, no home. Rosie goes back to her hometown and lands at a crossroads: does she fake it til she makes it? or does she confide in her friends about the reality of her "amazing life"? As she's debating, she receives an excellent job opportunity that is accepted prior to researching and shenanigans follow. Rosie is faced with lowering her walls, seeing herself in a different light and working hard to create something magical. I absolutely loved this book and all the characters brought to life on the page. It's a true coming of age story that so many individuals can relate to that forces us to go along for the ride while Rosie figures out when things don't go according to plan. Does everything fall apart to create something better than expected? and is it worth it?
I connected so much to Rosie's character, as i too have seen the effects of living someone else's dream. Rosie's experiences made her a fighter and it was beautiful to see her come full circle and discover all of the friendship, fun & love she had been missing for so long.

💐Everything’s Coming Up Rosie 💐
“Sometimes dreams shift and change and grow, and changing along with them isn’t failing. Pivoting isn’t quitting. Happiness isn’t linear, and seeking it isn’t selfish.”
Everything’s Coming Up Rosie is a show-stealing coming-of-age theatre rom-com. Rosie is dramatic, quirky, and way too clumsy to be directing a play, but that is exactly the curveball life threw her. Rosie’s missteps led to an engaging plot with plenty of events, emotional nuance, and light, closed-door romance. Rosie’s character arc is fun but with natural, well-earned growth guided by some amazing side characters, including Arthur, the elderly and ever-so-grouchy stage manager. I really enjoyed some of the behind-the-scenes glimpses into the theatre world as well as the theatre camp-like vibes. Overall, this was a fun, inspiring, feel-good read.
*️⃣Thanks so much to @netgalley and @thomasnelsonfiction . I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

This fun and quirky girl is trying to find her way in the world. I enjoyed this character who was often misunderstood by others.

Rosie has wanted to be an actress for a very long time but she has felt like a failure for a very long time. When she visits home, her friends all seem grown up and thriving and she just feels stuck so when she gets a job offer to be part of a production of Cinderella she jumps on it. She learns that this production is in a retirement home and she has the entire production riding on her back can she believe in herself hard enough to save the theatre?
Rosie was very easy to relate to. Her dilemma felt very personal for me and I quickly fell in love in love with her surroundings in the retirement home. Booker is also the kind of MMC you want in a small town romcom, I ate him up!
All in all this was a simple clean romance full of a lot of heart and hilarious moments.

I truly enjoyed Everything's Coming Up Rosie! The setting for Courtney Walsh's latest is Door County, Wisconsin...a place I dearly love! When Rosie takes a much needed job she doesn't realize it's in a retirement community at first and she is thrown for a loop and even more so when she meets the good-looking resident physical therapist, Booker.
Rosie's story reminds us that everyone is on their own journey and on their own time line. Just because you had plans or goals in the past, doesn't mean that you should be stuck in them if things change in your life and you want something different. All the side characters you'll meet here are just as wonderful as Rosie and Booker!
Jorjeana Marie did a great job narrating! She has a fun voice and is perfect for humorous Rosie.
Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read/listen to the audio and review. All opinions are my own.

4.5* - A heartwarming and cozy read! Exactly what I love about Courtney Walsh's writing. Rosie’s journey was full of charm, humor, and unexpected lessons and I have to say that the quirky cast of seniors added so much fun! I enjoyed watching Dylan's story unfold and the sweet romance with Booker. The story reminds us that dreams can change—and that’s okay! This was a sweet, feel-good read with plenty of heart! Add it to your summer list!

After years of never quite breaking into the acting scene in NYC, Rosie finds herself at a crossroads of her life. To keep pursuing the dream of making it big on stage? Or pivot and try out a different roll more behind the curtains?
This book was a light sweet read with themes of overcoming insecurities, realizing which dreams are worth living for, and learning to deeply and fully feel all of life’s emotions.
I will note that the first half of the book was more like a 3 star read for me. But by the second half of the novel it all came together and I enjoyed the story more.

Everything’s Coming Up Rosie is a sweet and heartwarming story. Rosie is 29 and lives in NYC, where she has been hustling and trying to get her big break as an actor. At the start of the story, she finds herself having to go back home to Illinois. She panic applies to any job related to acting, theatre, musicals, plays, etc. hoping to get any work she can.
When she gets an email about a temporary summer job in Door County, Wisconsin as a theatre director, she packs up and heads up north. Only, when she gets there, she finds out the job she agreed to is as the director of the theatre group at an assisted living facility for seniors. Rosie finds herself having to pivot once again and make the most of her situation.
I enjoyed reading about Rosie’s personal growth through this story. By the end she really finds herself and who she is and gains the confidence to love life truck to herself. What really made this story for me was the secondary characters like Arthur, Dylan, and Bertie. They really helped bring the community to life and brought some humorous moments. I do wish we got more interactions and hijinx with the fellow residents and less doom spiraling in Rosie’s mind.
There is a romance sub-plot between Rosie and Booker, the young physical therapist who works at the community to be close to his adopted grandma. Booker was nice and had decent chemistry with Rosie. This is a closed door romance, so the spiciest it gets is some serious, teenage level, make out sessions.
Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I ❤️ everything CW writes! I especially love that i never have to worry about the contents of the book because i know I’m getting good writing without all the junk! LOVED THIS ONE 💜💜
