I had a strong feeling I would love this book, but I didn't realize how much I needed it right now in this season of motherhood. Tara does an amazing job of telling the reader what needs to be done without shaming in the slightest. The little anecdotes sprinkled in between were relatable and kept me reading until the end. I didn't want to put it down! Highly recommend.

I appreciate that in the midst of much noise and clutter in our world, Tara Sun has written a book that is clear and simple without omitting some of the truths that Christian women need to face. Like a glass of lemonade, this book is just the right blend of ingredients, providing a refreshing reminder that we periodically need to step back and reflect on the things that can get in the way of our walk with God. Too much sugar in our life, and we can be distracted from what we've been called to as disciples of Jesus Christ. Too much lemon, and life is barely palatable as we try to endure everything thrown at us. Instead of getting weighed down by either ingredient, what we need is to centre our lives around God and reorient ourselves in light of the Bible; only then can our schedules have meaning and purpose beyond chores and to-do lists, providing direction in the midst of busyness.

Relatable and practical while espousing biblical truth, I also like that the author is unafraid to call out behaviours that can act as impediments to our overflowing lives. Feeling convicted in how easily I allow things to pile up instead of being faithful in what I've been given, my favourite chapters are near the end of the book where stewardship and consistency are touched on in how Christians can reflect God's character traits. This brought the book home for me and is well-worth reading to get to these points. Readers looking for a book that offers spiritual insight and application in a digestible format will enjoy how we can move from being Overbooked and Overwhelmed to being available for God’s work when we surrender our schedules to Him.

Women of faith don't take the enemies attacks or the allures of the world laying down. With grit and strength they stand up and fight."
I am known for making lists. My lists have lists. There are to do lists, to buy lists, ingredient lists, don't forget lists, and on and on. Since I can remember life has been constantly busy and in motion. Sometimes it can all be too much and I have to step back and ask God to grant me strength to push through. This book was a great reminder that no matter how busy and overwhelming life can be God is with us in our midst. There are so many things pulling us in different directions in today's world. But if we submit our thoughts and prayers to God he will help us set our hearts and priorities on what matters most. This book was also a great reminder that if our heart is not right we will be consumed with fear not love. I am so glad I chose to read this blessing of a book because it's helped me shift my priorities and thoughts back to our true purpose and in a world of comparison and temptation I need nudges and reminders to help me stay fixed on God not the ways of the world.
This book is a treasure trove. Thank you Netgalley for gifting me an advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.

This book met me right where I was. Tired, stretched thin, and craving peace I feel like this is a book mothers should be passing out to each other! Tara Sun speaks to busy moms with so much grace. Her words are gentle and never blaming. Just a kind reminder to slow down and realign your days with God.

She reminds us that our worth is not in how much we do and that rest is holy. If your heart feels overwhelmed and your schedule is running your life, this book is a calming invitation to return to what really matters.

Encouraging and faith-filled, this book offers practical steps to slow down and realign your life with God’s purpose. Tara Sun speaks with honesty and warmth, helping readers trade busy for intentional. A refreshing reminder that saying "yes" to God sometimes means saying "no" to everything else.

Many of us are overbooked and overwhelmed, including me. This book is targeted mostly to younger women starting out with their families, and perhaps don't know what lies at the source of their overwhelm. Tara Sun identifies the reason: putting God first is the only way to find peace in the middle of our busy lives. She gives some practical tips on how to put God first in your life. I think this book will be most helpful to people ages 20-35. I'm older than this segment, so I found it less helpful for myself, but it is still a good book for people in the target market.

This book has a special place in my heart right now. As someone who's easily overwhelmed by Life and its constant move. This was such a centring read.
One thing I love is how Tara writes like a catch-up drawing from her experience and life so it's not sounding preachy but encouraging and relatable something we all need.
I'll give this book all the stars and definitely getting my own copy once it's out because it's a daily reminder for life.

As a busy mom, Overbooked and Overwhelmed spoke directly to my heart. I was drawn to the book because I often feel like I’m running on empty—pulled in so many directions that my time with God gets pushed aside, even though I know it shouldn’t.

What stood out to me the most was how honest and real Tara Sun is throughout the book. She captures the exact feelings I face daily and gently reminds readers that we’re not alone. Her words helped me realize that even in the chaos, God is always there, patiently waiting and offering grace.

If you’re feeling stretched thin and spiritually disconnected, this book is a much-needed reminder that we don’t have to stay overwhelmed—there’s a better, more intentional way forward.

Tara Sun’s Overbooked and Overwhelmed is the gentle wake-up call I didn’t know I needed. With grace, honesty, and a dose of humor, she tackles the tension so many of us feel—trying to keep up with life while barely keeping up with ourselves, let alone God.

This book doesn’t shame or pressure. Instead, Tara invites us into a deeper trust and a more grounded rhythm, reminding us that it’s not about doing more but about aligning with the One who gives true rest. Her stories are relatable, her insights are biblical, and her encouragement is refreshingly practical.

Whether you’re knee-deep in ministry, motherhood, work, or just plain worn out—this book will help you reset your heart and realign your priorities with God’s peace and purpose.

Highly recommend for any woman who feels like she’s running on empty and needs to remember that God never asked us to hustle for His love.

Limitations are liberating! This book is a perfect fit for busy moms and overscheduled families who want to live to the fullest without becoming overwhelmed. I've read many books on tge intersection of slow living and faith before, including some that were quoted in this book, so it didn't offer anything new to me as a reader. However, it would be a great beginner guide for those who want to slow down but aren't sure how.

Thank you for the opportunity to read this book. I enjoyed this book. It was a quick read and did not lack substance. Tara broke down simple things we may miss as we hurry through life and redirected us to how to better connect life to God. She gives great examples that are applicable to life and ties everything back to scripture.
