Description
Popular podcaster Tara Sun shows readers how to intentionally keep Jesus first in the middle of all that is vying for their attention when life does not slow down.
In a world of packed calendars, constant pings, and every battery running low, many Christians feel they are squeezing God into their lives rather than focusing on the best thing of all. How can we stop the busyness long enough to pursue what we know we need the most?
Overbooked and Overwhelmed is a hopeful and practical guide for readers who want to be fully present with God but are overbusy, overnotified, and overwhelmed. Popular blogger and podcaster Tara Sun comes alongside readers to explore how to
- adjust their speed to walk at Jesus' pace instead of trying to keep up with the world's hustle,
- understand why distraction is not rooted in a disordered schedule but a disordered heart,
- develop spiritual resilience for the times they feel stuck in their faith, and
- trade habitual busyness for intentional rhythms of rest, even in seasons when life does not slow down.
For everyone who feels behind before the day even starts, Overbooked and Overwhelmed gives ideas and inspiration for putting distractions in their place and embracing the true rest your soul longs for--crazy-busy life and all.

Limitations are liberating! This book is a perfect fit for busy moms and overscheduled families who want to live to the fullest without becoming overwhelmed. I've read many books on tge intersection of slow living and faith before, including some that were quoted in this book, so it didn't offer anything new to me as a reader. However, it would be a great beginner guide for those who want to slow down but aren't sure how.

Tara Sun’s Overbooked and Overwhelmed is the gentle wake-up call I didn’t know I needed. With grace, honesty, and a dose of humor, she tackles the tension so many of us feel—trying to keep up with life while barely keeping up with ourselves, let alone God.
This book doesn’t shame or pressure. Instead, Tara invites us into a deeper trust and a more grounded rhythm, reminding us that it’s not about doing more but about aligning with the One who gives true rest. Her stories are relatable, her insights are biblical, and her encouragement is refreshingly practical.
Whether you’re knee-deep in ministry, motherhood, work, or just plain worn out—this book will help you reset your heart and realign your priorities with God’s peace and purpose.
Highly recommend for any woman who feels like she’s running on empty and needs to remember that God never asked us to hustle for His love.

As a busy mom, Overbooked and Overwhelmed spoke directly to my heart. I was drawn to the book because I often feel like I’m running on empty—pulled in so many directions that my time with God gets pushed aside, even though I know it shouldn’t.
What stood out to me the most was how honest and real Tara Sun is throughout the book. She captures the exact feelings I face daily and gently reminds readers that we’re not alone. Her words helped me realize that even in the chaos, God is always there, patiently waiting and offering grace.
If you’re feeling stretched thin and spiritually disconnected, this book is a much-needed reminder that we don’t have to stay overwhelmed—there’s a better, more intentional way forward.
