I love alternate history books. When done well they seem exactly like a past that could have occurred. Sadly, this book, with a great blurb, did not live up to that level for me. The pace was so frantic that the world-building was a bit lacking. This also led to an ending that seemed a little rushed. I think the author has plans for further books in the series. I am not sure I will ever get around to reading them, as one was enough for me.

Shows some real potential but needs a bit of re-editing to make it a bit sharper and focused in terms of plot direction.
