I am a big for of Wanda E. Brunstetter's books. Her cookbooks are always wonderful.
They are beautiful and inspiring. This cookbook focuses on Farm - to -Table meals that uses ingredients that we can grow and harvest ourselves. Also great for those who use farmers markets and fresh sources to create amazing dishes. The book uses contributions from Mennonite and Amish cooks. These meals are
family perfect and easy to make. The recipes are detailed and so easy to follow. The ingredients are simple and easy to get and affordable. I love the recipes for butters and my favorite is the Apple Dumplings.
You will also find inspirations in the stories, thoughts and scriptures found throughout the book.
A cookbook your family will treasure. Makes a great gift too. Enjoy with your family.

A great read showing how you can source food close to home. You can help local farmers by buying local. Filled with 280 recipes you can use meats and vegetables from local farmers instead of going to a grocery store. The recipes are fresh and not bogged down with chemicals. There are tips for growing, harvesting and preserving your own food. The cookbook is divided making finding recipes easy. I look forward to using the tips on preserving during the upcoming summer months and.buying produce from farms in the surrounding area.

Please note that this review is for a sample of the book provided by the publishers as an advance reader's copy. What I have seen of the book is gorgeous. The recipes look delicious. The photography is stunning. While not everyone can source their own local meat and dairy, I think anyone can find enough in this lovely cookbook to make it worth getting. The homemade custard recipe is a particular favorite of mine. It's delicious and reminds me of my grandmother's cooking.

I received a free copy of this book from NetGalley and am leaving this review voluntarily.

"Eat an apple, save the core, plant the seeds and raise some more." - Amish saying
The newest compilation, Wanda E. Brunstetter's Amish Friends Farm-To-Table Cookbook: 280 amazing Recipes Help Encourage Local Farming Networks has to be a labor of love. The beautiful book adds to her series of excellent Amish cookbooks.
I received an e-copy of a portion of the book from the author and Barbour Publishing through NetGalley. The copy features the Dairy and Fruit sections of the book. There are also beautiful photos representing the Amish, farm products and recipes. This is my own unsolicited opinion about this new cookbook.
The Fruit section shares pies, cakes, muffins and more. The Raspberry Cream Pops caught my eye with a colorful photo. I want to try this recipe for my grandchildren. Other fruit can be substituted which makes it versatile.
The Dairy portion includes homemade butter, ice cream, custards and tips on cheese making with more recipes.
This is an excellent project that helps promote the foods and products that you can find at your local farms and markets.

This advance copy only included two categories: dairy and fruits. The dairy part I will more than likely never use but the fruit section is another story. Wow! I loved the recipes. The directions were clear. The photos are gorgeous. I wished I could have seen more of the book but this just means I will need to purchase it myself. There were some ingredients that I was unfamiliar with, like Perma-Flo. I had to go to the internet to see what it was, which in turn lead me to some great online sites that sold these ingredients. I can't wait to see the rest of the recipes.

I am a huge cookbook fan and have several books so was excited to get a sample of this as I always enjoy cookbooks about Amish recipes. The photography is beautiful in this book. I wish there was more pictures of the recipes. All the recipes sounded amazing and would love to try making them myself. I just found that some of the instructions for the recipes were a little lacking. I wish there was more explanation for some of the methods of cooking as a lot of the recipes are things I have never made myself. I consider myself to be a good cook and can follow most any recipe but the way some were written I don't know if I would be able to successfully execute the recipe. I was especially interested in some cheese making and butter making. I think with more research I would be able to make the recipes.

You can make homemade yogurt, ice cream, sour cream and smoothies with these recipes!
Most of the yogurt, ice cream and sour cream recipes use whole milk and sugar as a base, they are easy to mix and they are fresh with no preservatives!
If you enjoy apples, there are recipes for apple butter, apple cider, no sugar apple pie and even glazed apple cookies!
Enjoy making a strawberry rhubarb pie, raspberry frozen cream pops, grape juice, peach jam and a sugar free watermelon Breeze drink!

Wanda E. Brunstetter's Amish Friends Farm-to-Table Cookbook is sectioned into different groups like fruit and dairy. The recipes are straightforward and easy to follow. The recipes differ greatly in the skill needed to complete them from making your own yoghurt to a grape salad.

This is a great sample of a cookbook I now want to read more of. The recipes are tasty and easy, the ingredients are easy to find and/or have in the pantry and what photos there were looked good.

I would like to try more of the recipes of this cookbook when the book is published. YUM!

Thank you NetGalley and Barbour Publishing | Barbour Books for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book.

Thank you to NetGalley, Barbour Publishing, and Barbour Books for the opportunity to read an advanced sample of this cookbook for an honest review.

I received a digital sample of “Wanda E. Brunstetter's Amish Friends Farm-to-Table Cookbook” that will be published in May and feature 280 recipes. My sample just included recipes from the “Dairy” and “Fruit” sections of the cookbook (most of them were desserts), but I really loved the pictures and how they flowed together to show the story of farm-to-table meals.

The bright, crisp pictures that were featured weren’t fussy from a food-styling point of view and looked like the presentation I would expect if I was joining friends for a meal: simple, clean, and presented with love.

This being an Amish cookbook, I really enjoyed all of the made-from-scratch recipes like basic yogurt, cottage cheese, homemade butter, and apple dumplings. The ingredient lists were short, and the instructions were easy to follow – both of which were big wins for me!

My main complaint was the lack of photos for every recipe. Maybe more photos will be added to the full cookbook by the time it is published, but several recipes were put together on pages without pictures. Also, I was concerned to not find the serving sizes in my sample. If I’m going to take the time to make something, I want to know how many servings the recipe has just in case I need to adjust. Again, I’m hoping this is remedied before publication.

Overall, the sample I received intrigued me to want to see more of this cookbook once it’s published. Anyone wanting to learn how to make farm-to-table meals and desserts will enjoy this cookbook.

I love the straightforward, simple, budget friendly recipes, that anybody can follow. I can’t wait to snag a full copy once this is released. The photos are gorgeous, and I love the Bible verses scattered throughout.

Aside from being a great recipe book, this is also a nice addition to Wanda’s other books. Now when they sit down to dinner, you can refer back to this book and see exactly what they are eating.

Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC in return for an honest review.
