📚 E-ARC BOOK REVIEW 📚

I Bet You'd Look Good In A Coffin
By Katy Brent
Publication Date: June 10, 2025
Publisher: Harper360

📚MY RATING: ⭐⭐⭐⭐✨
(Rounded Up To 5⭐)

Thank you so much to Harper360 and NetGalley for this #gifted e-ARC in exchange for my honest review!

📚MY REVIEW:

I absolutely adored Kitty Collins when I first met her in Katy Brent's How To Kill Men and Get Away With It last year. Even my orange fur baby Oscar enjoyed it (check out my Instagram for photographic proof 😹). So when I heard Kitty was returning for more 'adventures' this year, I was beyond excited! And when I was approved for the e-arc on NetGalley, I IMMEDIATELY devoured it from cover-to-cover in just a few hours. Take it from me: Kitty Collins DOES NOT disappoint!

We find our favorite anti-heroine taking a sabbatical, of-sorts, from last year's murderous escapades of ridding the world of men who take advantage of women in the most pathetic of ways. Kitty is happy in a serious relationship with her boyfriend Charlie, declaring herself "murder-sober." Enter Blaze Bundy, an anonymous misogynistic influencer on social media who is REALLY tempting Kitty to forego her sobriety. Because honestly, one more teensy little kill won't hurt, right?

Ahhh! I just LOVE everything Katy Brent writes! Her wit and brilliantly dark humor makes me laugh out loud, and this book was no exception. I was thoroughly entertained from the first line till the last, and I cannot get enough of Kitty's antics. I know it's probably frowned upon by some people to root for a character like Kitty, but honestly, do I care? No. Not one lil bit. Her humor, her sarcasm, her witty banter and internal dialogue -- I'm a huge fan of all of it. This is the second Kitty Collins book, and while you could probably read this one first, you really don't want to miss your chance to learn what made Kitty into the murdering goddess she is in the first book!

If you love books with sarcastic wit, dark humor, and the most incredibly badass female main character you could ever ask for, you've simply GOT to meet Kitty Collins. In fact, if you haven't read a Katy Brent book yet, I'd encourage you to drop EVERYTHING else you're doing and pick up one of her books. Go on, you can thank me later. I Bet You'd Look Good In A Coffin is out now!

Murder Sober. Feminist rage. Stalking. Dismemberment. With terms and topics like these it should come as no surprise that Katy Brent’s follow up to the HOW TO KILL MEN AND GET AWAY WITH IT is just as dark and twisted (maybe more so) than the original.

I BET YOU’D LOOK GOOD IN A COFFIN reunites the reader with Kitty Collins who is doing her darnedest to remain Murder Sober. She’s even joined a group called Angry Women Anonymous to try to get a handle on her murderous rage. It’s a struggle because *patriarchy, duh* but she’s doing it until she learns of a lecherous pig taking advantage of underage girls. What’s a vigilante murderer to do?

And so begins another severely unhinged killing spree courtesy of our girl, Kitty. Things get complicated (like murder is not complicated enough) because Kitty has a stalker who’s tormenting her, her mom is getting married to a man whose intentions Kitty doubts, her BFF is not speaking to her, and her boyfriend might be cheating. Yes, that’s a lot. It’s no wonder Kitty kills.

WAIT! I have some issues here. In the first book, Kitty kills by accident and kills again while trying to cover her tracks. She has a conscience. By book two it’s almost as if she takes pleasure in ridding the world of horrid men. Yes, they are horrid and, yes, the world is better off without them, but her joy is just a bit too deranged for comfort. At some point there was just too much disbelief for me to suspend.

Did I like this book? I sure did. I laughed out loud at inappropriate sections and found myself swept up in the wickedness. But, also, was I uncomfortable with liking this book? I sure was. What does it say about me as a person that vengeance and brutality made me laugh? Who knows.

If you can handle dark, twisted, unhinged, comical, out of control feminine rage; give this book a shot. If that makes you squeamish or sounds too close to reality, it may not be for you. Either way, I have a feeling book three is on the horizon and I will absolutely read it.

Thank you to NetGalley and HarperCollins360 for the advance copy. All opinions are my own.

didn’t realize when I snagged this book that it was the second in a series, but it can be read as a stand alone with no confusion in my opinion.

Kitty finds herself in France trying to figure out who the misogynistic jerk is that is messing with her. Will she be able to find him and take him out before he gets her?

The perfect blend of humor and mystery, with very little darkness or gore. Highly recommend! Looking forward to reading the rest of the series

“It very much isn’t part of my agreed recovery plan. The one I agreed with myself: to give up killing men, no matter how much they deserve it.”

“A body count of 11 – and I mean, actual bodies, not sexual partners – really should be more than enough for one woman.”

“Somebody needs to keep an eye on this mother fucker.”

“There’s a lot to be said for the restorative power of orgasms.”

“Do some internal work. Ask yourself why no woman wants to be with you. Could it be because you’re a piece of shit? Has that crossed your mind? Maybe try 𝘕𝘖𝘛 being a piece of shit.”

I was offered a copy of this one as a #gift in exchange for an honest review. I wasn’t expecting a whole lot and went in blind. I am now OBSESSED with Kitty Collins and am going back to read the 1st book.

This book was soooo much fun. It’s all girl power, f the patriarchy, murdery vibes, family drama. It’s like fusion of Finlay Donovan mixed with DEXTER!!!! It’s perfection!

I loved all of the characters in their various roles. I loved how I didn’t know who to trust and felt like I was watching Kitty Collins’ back right alongside her. The characters all played off of each other so well. The chemistry between the characters was just done so well. You get some humor and all the justice.

I haven’t been this excited about a series in a long time. I just hope there are going to be more books so I can see how the characters continue their journey especially given new found alliances. I loved the common ground Carmella and Kitty finally find. It’s as heartwarming as a murder book gets.

The way the book ended I’m so hopeful that we are getting another in this series!

Kitty Collins is celebrating her 30th birthday with her boyfriend Charlie and her two best friends. Kitty is quite wealthy as her father owned a meat processing plant leaving her and her mother, Carmella Collins, quite wealthy.

Kitty spends a lot of time on social media and one man who goes by the name of Blaze Bundy and is masked is a huge misogynist and a braggart about how he uses and abuses women. This infuriates Kitty and she wants nothing more than to do him in. But she has promised herself that she is not going to kill anymore men as she already has 11 notches on her belt. But this man seems to know who she is and taunts her on social media with hints at killing her.

When her mother says she is getting married again, Kitty thinks she’s nuts. The woman lives in France and the wedding is to be held there. Kitty doesn’t want to go but Charlie and her mother force her to go. There she meets her mother’s fiance, Gabriel, and knows he isn’t who her mother thinks she is. When it dawns on Kitty who the man really is, she is terrified.

This story is twisty, violent, gory, and funny. Getting rid of annoying men is what Kitty does and she has been successful at it. Stating this isn’t giving out a spoilers - just fact. It’s the story itself that is at times sad, humorous and simply real. Do give it a read and enjoy!

“I can come to a sensible and measured decision about whether I need to do anything about him or not. And by ‘do anything’, I mean 𝘳𝘦𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵 him to the proper body.
𝘖𝘳 𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘩𝘪𝘮 𝘢 dead 𝘣𝘰𝘥𝘺.
No. Not that.” 😂😂

This book was laugh out loud funny and so enjoyable. Kitty is a hoot and I liked watching her try to rationalize her murderous feelings. 💀 ⚰️

“I feel excitement ripple through my veins. I’m going to kill him.
I’m going to kill him tonight.
Fuck sobriety.” 🔪 🩸

Kitty is like the female Dexter doing us ladies a favor by ridding the world of the bad men. The men who hurt women. And I mean…yes, we know it’s wrong, per se. But I did root for Dexter and I was also rooting for Kitty. You get em, girl!

Thank you to Netgalley and @HarperCollins360 for the ARC in exchange for my honest thoughts.

I love a female serial killer book so this was right up my alley. I really enjoyed Kitty’s wittiness and personality. I loved her relationship with her boyfriend and found myself really rooting for them. There was twists and turns and surprises along the way and I really just had a lot of fun reading it!

You know how one of the keys to becoming sober is not to surround yourself with temptation? Well, what if your temptation was walking the streets, on your social media feeds, on your television, and maybe even delivering your take-out?

This is what I love the most about Katy Brent’s Kitty Collins books: wish fulfillment. There are awful men in this world–men I’d love to see pay for their actions but also know will never be punished. Kitty Collins? She not only can and will punish them, she’ll do it while wearing Comme de Garcons and Jimmy Choos and then touch up her YSL lipstick on the way out the door.

Yes, you will need to read How to Kill Men and Get Away With It to understand any of this book, but that’s not a hardship, because both of these books are brilliantly funny, terribly insightful, and just a little heartbreaking. I’d seek out some information on CW/TWs somewhere online because Kitty needs a reason to be angry and men do give her an on-page reason to be so, but everything is treated with care and has a reason. I can’t recommend Kitty’s style of justice enough. 4⭐️

I enjoyed book one and was looking forward to book two -- and it did not disappoint! I LOVED this even more than the first book. Just when I think I have it figured out with Kitty, I don't and there is another twist. Such a fun read.

Why yes, I would describe this as a light-hearted murder book. It's not quite "cozy", a bit too chic for that, and I guess in cozy murder books, usually you aren't reading the perspective of (and cheering for) the murderer. But obvi Kitty is killing for good here, and her victims deserve it! (Except that one...)

She does a bit of soul-searching in this book, and I think ultimately I enjoyed this book more than the first. It's all a bit far-fetched, but you have to admire Kitty for unabashedly fighting the patriarchy and using her gifts for. "good".

Kitty Collins is back in I Bet Yo'd Look Good in a Coffin by Katy Brent.

"Kitty is a serial killer but is really trying to stop. But a new influencer - Blaze Bundy - is spouting vile misogyny online. It's making it hard for Kitty to keep plotting another murder. She travels to the South of France for her mother's wedding. She should be working on her tan - but a woman's work is never done."

Surprisingly, there are multiple good guys in this one. But there are more men that are misogynistic jerks. And Kitty is willing to do what it takes to make sure they don't hurt anyone else. She ends up in a compromising position but finds some allies at an unexpected time. The second act moves a little slower but there's a good finish. The sad thing is that you probably know men like Brent describes. This is very dark humor - more rage fiction. You'll enjoy being inside Kitty's head.

Katy Brent is the queen of feminist rage, and I am here for it. Her books are dark, twisted, witty, and somehow have me sort of, kind of rooting for a serial killer. I loved the introduction of new characters in this book. Her relationship with her mother was glorious. The book had me hooked (and chuckling) from start to finish. This is the second book in a series and, while it can be read as a stand alone, I highly suggest you start with the first book (which is also amazing).

Kitty is a fabulously wealthy socialite with a dark secret. She is addicted to murdering terrible men who do terrible things. She’s truly trying to stop when she finds herself in France, along with a famous manosphere influencer who wants to kill her. The problem, however, is that she doesn’t know exactly who he is.

4.5 stars rounded up.

* I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley. Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for this book. All thoughts are my own.

I did like this book much better than I liked the first one, but I still found Kitty to be a bit annoying. I was not impressed by really any of the other characters either. The storyline of this one was interesting and kept me entertained.

I still don’t know that I would recommend this series though.

Kitty Collin’s is back! I loved her dark witty humor. Some parts were a little too cheesy for my liking but it was still an entertaining read.

Great book! I thoroughly enjoyed reading this one! This book had a bit of everything! It had suspense, intrigue, action, murder, mystery, a fantastic who done it and some crazy twists and turns! The storyline was very interesting and kept me glued to my Kindle! I highly recommend reading this book!. Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for sharing this book with me!

I was a big fan of Dexter before it ended terribly and that show made me exhausted by serial killer stories from the POV of of the killer so I was wary to get into this. I was wrong! This was great. It was darkly twisted and darkly funny. I loved all these characters and the depth they all had. It was nothing I was expecting and I hope we get more of this series soon.

This is the follow up novel to How to Kill Men and Get Away With It. FMC Kitty Collins is admittedly a serial killer but only because some men deserve it. Her latest victim is an online misogynistic influencer just begging to be killed. A witty, creative, fast paced novel that was impossible to put down until the end.

unfortunately this book was a dnf for me. I may try the audiobook at a later date. Tnanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the arc.

I really enjoyed Katy Brent’s previous books, so I was really excited to read this one. It was everything I had hoped for! Kitty Collin’s is such a great character. Kitty taking out misogynistic men - what else could be better? I will definitely be recommending this book and her other books as well.

This is a fun, easy read that had me laughing and staying up late to read “just one more chapter”. Having not read Kitty Collin’s #1, I wasn’t sure if I would be missing key information or feel like after reading #2, that the first would be spoiled for me. I’m happy to say that neither is true. I realize flashback scenes in #2 may have given me a lot of the story and how #1 ends, but I don’t really know all the full details and I feel like it will still be an enjoyable read for me.
This story is not free from tense moments, some of which are a bit gory to imagine, but the author does a wonderful job of keeping it well balanced with drama, satire and humor. Through Kitty, this story overall is about how women are treated and how as a whole, society just accepts this and continues to give men a right to do what they do. Kitty sets out to right these wrongs. Are her ways the right way- no, but she also finds ways to make women feel better about themselves, gives them alternative ways other than accepting what they currently have as their normal and helps them to feel safe. Without giving a lot away- I really enjoyed the family aspect at the end of the story, laughed many times here- and I’m hoping for future Kitty Collin’s stories to include more of this.
Thank you Harper 360 publishing for providing this book for review consideration via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.
