Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for letting me review this book. This book has some great tips along with some thought provoking questions. Even when things seem tough and no way out; there’s always hope, no matter how small. I do like that there are some questions about pets since pets love you regardless and don’t judge you.

The Suicidal Thoughts Workbook aims to support individuals that are confronting suicidal thoughts. This is a comprehensive workbook based upon CBT techniques. There is a range of worksheets that prompt readers to examine his/her reactions to suicidal thoughts, identify risk factors, and identify/access support systems. This workbook introduces an array of CBT techniques including: reframing negative thoughts, working on problem solving, and practicing mindfulness. Not all suggestions within this workbook will be a good match for every reader, but that is why there are so many suggestions embedded within this book. This workbook has a compassionate tone which is needed for such a heavy topic such as this. It is a valuable resource to provide support for individuals dealing with these thoughts, and to their clinicians as well.

Grounded in CBT, it offers a mix of reflection, planning, and practical support—including ways to build a crisis plan and reconnect with hope. It doesn’t rush healing—it just meets you where you are. A truly valuable resource for tough times.

A thoughtful and reassuring guided journal, only thing I’d suggest as improvement is including numbers for crisis lines outside of USA (such as 111 in England)

When life gets to be too much and overwhelming, there is hope. Finding the hope can be a journey though. In The Suicidal Thoughts Guided Journal, Katie Gordon and Thomas Ellis Joiner provide the reader with a path to healing. With compassion and encouragment, the authors lay out a six part journal with writing prompts. This book is unique in that it offers an understanding of suicidal thoughts and a clear framework to working through the difficult thoughts and feelings.

I am appreciative of the opportunity to review this advance copy. I think this book is best used in a hard copy version; I look forward to purchasing the physical copy of the book.
