I was excited to read this book - stories of what God is doing today are so encouraging. As a fan and regular listener of Jon Tyson's sermons, i had high expectations, however it wasn't the gripping read I anticipated.

Each chapter in the book tells the story of a way in which God is moving, a modern testimony of His work in our age. Trying to recall specifics in this book, I find I can't remember much. Perhaps more detail in the stories would allow the reader to get to know and empathise with the people involved.

I like that discussion questions are included at the back of the book, with lots of good questions for reflection.

I applaud the idea and hope this book brings encouragement to those who read it.

I don't know if/how many books these two have written prior to this, as this is my only experience. I found this well-rounded, hopeful, with a lot of great points and feedback. This is definitely a book I will come back to, and likely will recommend.

I really loved this book! Each chapter defines a rumor and takes you on a journey which really opened my eyes to truly loving AND serving others. It is filled with God's truth from His Word and I loved how we can make practical applications in our every day life. It reminded me that God is still the same today as he was before creation. He is the the Almighty of the past, present, and future. It convicted me to walk more closely with the Lord and mirror my walk after His. It brought to mind Luke 6:27: "But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Father in heaven. For he makes his sun rise on the evil and good, and sends rain on the righteous and unrighteous." This verse calls for loving even those who are difficult or who have wronged us. The lost, broken, and hopeless still deserve our love and service if we are meant to follow Jesus. Thank you to Darren, Jon, and NetGalley for an arc of this novel in exchange for my honest review.

A helpful exploration of the experiential aspect of faith, what it means to have meaningful encounters with God today.
