Tempest’s Queen was one of my most anticipated read for 2025, because I had loved Inferno’s Heir. I was so ecstatic when I got the ARC! Let me just say the sequel was just as good as the first book. It is action packed filled with wit (<3 Enna Van Apt), political intrigue, schemes, high stake heists/breakouts, and shocking revelations. It is rich in history and mythology. We get to explore more of the world and see new forms of magic. However, what made this book stand out for me, was the complex, morally ambiguous diverse characters, especially our protagonist, Teia. She is fierce and ambitious, but also protective of the ones she loves. Her redemption arc was so well written. She is definitely not a sympathetic character. She understands the consequences of her choices and the impact it has on others. Although she stands by her decision, she also tries to correct the wrongs of the past. Some may see her as a villain and other a hero, but it is that ambiguity that makes Teia such a great character. There is also romance in this novel, which I really enjoyed. Although it is just a subplot, the yearning and tension was just so good. Finally, I loved the found family aspect of this novel. Despite the struggles and challenges these characters face, they are always there for one another.

Overall, I thought this was a great end to this series. It has definitely become one my favorite political YA fantasy duology. Highly recommend if you love intricate plotlines, witty dialogues, and memorable characters. I’m just sad that this story has ended, but I hope in the future the author will consider writing more stories in this world.

Inferno's Heir was a fantastic read. I always worry that the second book may not hit the marks as well as the first, but Tempest's Queen was a bittersweet finale that I loved just as much.

Tempest's Queen contains a lot of a political components, diversity, plot twists that keep you engaged, and the writing was very well done. Also, the cover art is phenomenal and very distinctly important to the story which I love.

I adore this series! What a great way to finish the duology off, Wang is a fantastic author! That being said, there were moments of the book that I wasn't entirely engaging with the plot. When it got to a slower part, I found myself setting it down to read something else. I did really enjoy the action sequences, and Teia's character became a bit more likeable (she was likeable before, but she really grew emotionally in this book). It was also so freaking cool to finish the book, look back at the cover, and really be able to understand the meaning of it!
Can't wait to see what Wang writes next!

What a powerful end to this duology! Tempest's Queen was such a wild ride with one twist after another. Rich story telling and vivid world building combined with the growth of the characters definitely made this my favorite book of the two and I'm a bit bummed that there is not another book to look forward to!

My only complaint is that I did think the heroine's plans were unnecessarily complicated and conveniently revealed after everything seems to go wrong but then somehow goes conveniently according to plan.

I absolutley loved this book! I was gripped into the story as soon as I started and finished it in one sitting. I loved the authors writing style because it made it very easy to read and follow the plot. The characters were very unique but there journey was amazing and extremely satisfying to read. I will be recommending this book to all of my family and friends.

2025 has barely begin — alright, alright, I hear you, we are 25% in the year, BUT this has to be one of the best books I will read this year. I loved Inferno's Heir to death, and Tempest's Queen has only added to intensify my adoration for this universe. I hate that this is it? That we are not getting any more explorations of the five kingdoms? That we aren't getting any more of the fierce Teia, kind Tobias, stealthy Enna, wholesome Alara, and oh so sweet Kyra?? I need to get my hands on the physical copies of this duology, for one, look at that cover, and secondly, it is a series that has ascertained itself in my heart as one of the best political YA fantasies ever written.

And it couldn't have come at a better time than this, when we have readers arguing about how reading isn't inherently political, when our world descends into chaos. That's the tragic part about dystopian/political fiction in today's age, it doesn't feel like fiction at all, however pondering about that would be a deviation from the main purpose of this review.

Tempest's Queen is the dramatic conclusion to Inferno's Heir, and for me, contains all the elements that made the first book so endearing to me. The plot twists keep you flipping the pages, the world and character building is SO immersive, the writing flows like a destructive flame -- reaching the tiniest corners of your soul and leaving them scorched in the most magnificient way. I LOVE the relationships between these characters, I love how diverse they are, I am so enthralled by the way they overcome their problems. Teia is everything we want our strong female characters to be omg???

I actually didn't read the first book in the duology but honestly it isn't needed, and that is amazing in my books! This book absolutely holds its own and is fantastic, and sad so sad oh my gods

Tempest Queen was a nice step up from the first book for me. I thought the story felt more focused, and the characters had a bit more depth this time around. The world is still super cool, and while it didn’t blow me away, I definitely enjoyed it more than the first one. Solid read overall!

First of all Tiffany Wang has crafted a great story about Teia and the challenges she faces.
Like the previous book Inferno’s heir there are many challenges from the first chapter and weave through out the whole book.

Adding in more political pulls from Teia point of view, new characters and the relationships that come with them.

As well as Hard choices for Teia and her friends.
Us readers are in for a great ride when it comes to the Tempest’s queen.

I did find some parts less engaging then some but still think this is a great read and a good ending for Teia’s story but I hope there is more to come from Tiffany Wangs world because there is a lot more that can come from the series. Fingers crossed.

I at first dnfed the first book…..later I went back and finished it and did not enjoy it,

I read this to see if it would get better. While it was better I still think this series is not for me. The intrigued was good, but the pacing was bad. Pacing can make or break a fantasy book and this broke it.

This is Book 2 in the Inferno’s Heir Duology.

I loved this book so much. It is just as good as Book 1. This book has political intrigue, rebel schemes, extortion, heists, and redemption. We follow Teia on her journey of redemption after her betrayals in Book 1.

Teia has so much growth in this book becoming a better and stronger version of herself. This is a healing book of self discovery for Teia with plenty of adventure, heists and schemes. I love how she is always one step ahead of everyone. Even the reader! She gives me Ocean’s 11 vibes when she lets you in on the scheme!

This book is a page turner. It is very hard to not read in one setting.

This duology gives The Cruel Prince vibes as Teia and Jude are so much alike… BA QUEENS! Go read this duology!! You won’t regret it!

We rejoin our heroes for the conclusion of the Inferno’s Heir duology in this book. Just like the last, it features political intrigue, action, and–best of all–heists.

I enjoyed this book even more than the first, especially as the characters all felt more fleshed out and complex. I had difficulty connecting to Teia in the last book, but very much enjoyed watching her grapple with her own moral flexibility in this book. She is not a soft or sympathetic character, but that is one of the things that I enjoy best about her. I would have appreciated a bit more tension between the characters due to her actions at the conclusion of the first novel, but the excitement of the various schemes and heists more than made up for it.

My biggest complaint is that the story, while not ended on a cliffhanger, doesn’t quite feel finished to me. I feel like there is so much more left to tell, and was vaguely unsatisfied by the ending. I suppose if a book’s biggest failing is that it leaves you wanting more of the story and the world that the characters inhabit, it’s not really much of a failing at all.

That being said, I hope that the author doesn’t leave us too long without a new work–whether with these characters or in a whole new cast from her imagination. I will definitely pick up a copy whenever that happens.

as a second book in the series I had high hopes for it and was so excited to complete this story and then the second book came and really did lifted my expectations again for the author upcoming books , I don't like spoiling any books i read anyway so for my honest review for it if you liked the first , you will worship the second book , there is more development for the characters we didn't see in Inferno's Heir so yes highly recommended duology

Inferno's Heir has become one of my favorite duologies - it's the perfect combination of Six of Crows, Avatar, and The Poppy War, with fresh takes on morally gray characters.
Teia has become a favorite protagonist for me - her ruthless ambition combined with her fierce love and protectiveness for her loved ones makes her a fascinating and complex heroine. I would have liked to see more development from the cast of characters - while Enna and Tobias are important to the plot, I didn't feel a very deep connection to them, and I would have liked to learn more about them on their own and not in relation to Teia.
The plot was extremely fun and I loved that it was set in Shaylan. The idea of Memory Keepers was really interesting and the worldbuilding was done really nicely. Tiffany Wang did an amazing job creating a whole new setting while maintaining the same tone and pacing as the first book.
The open ending was also appreciated and I am so very excited to see where Tiffany Wang goes with her writing. Thank you so much to NetGalley and Bindery Books for the eARC!!

I do have to say that I did like the first book more than this sequel.

This sequel picks up right after the events of the previous book, The Inferno's Heir, with Teia having succeeded. She now has a new task to focus on, a journey to another country to warn them of the threats and dangers to come. She now has the dilemma of working alongside those she betrayed. Oopsy.

I think this book dragged quite a bit more than the previous one, so that made it hard for me to get invested. Some moments were more rushed-feeling and others dragged on unnecessarily. Pacing in a fantasy is so important to me. And when it's that back and forth, it really pulls me out of the story.

I did really like that we got to explore more of this world in this book. We learn more about the different countries, the political climate and drama, and how they all connect.

Overall, this was a fun little duology with such pretty covers. I am impressed with this new author and am interested to see what else she creates.

I don't think this was quite as well-paced and structured as the first one, however, I did continue to enjoy the story. For most of the story, I went between sections in which I was really engaged and sections in which I was less engaged. It is because of this that my rating is closer to a solid four. Outside of that critique, the exploration into another of the five kingdoms was awesome. I think it added more to the overall view of the world being crafted. I definitely suggest this duology though, I just wish there were more books to further explore the rest of the five kingdoms.
