I wish I could give this more than five stars! RaeAnne did another amazing job on the story with wonderful characters.
Can you imagine thinking that you’re an only child and then on the death of your father, you find out that you have a half sister.
Well, that’s what this book is about. Family dynamics, heartbreak, healing and romance.
Alison takes a job as an intern, and her boss just so happens to be her sister Juniper. Only Juniper has no idea whatsoever that Alison even exists! When Juniper has a medical issue, caused by stress. Alison convinces her to come back to Wyoming with her and heal while staying on her farm.
And this is where the story starts to unwind, and two romances begin. One between Beck and Juniper, and another between Allison and Xander.
I highly recommend this book !
And I thank you to NetGalley and RaeAnne for this ARC in return for my honest review.

Juniper Connolly has always been incredibly healthy…until she wakes up in the hospital after experiencing cardiac arrest, with her new—and recently fired—intern to thank for saving her life. It’s clear June needs to de-stress her life a little, so when Ali offers her the use of her family’s cabin in a small Wyoming town, June has no reason not to go. But when she arrives, her life will never be the same.
Under the wide-open spaces of the Wyoming summer sun, Ali and June will untangle the secrets and lies their lives were built on to discover who they really are and what family really means. But even more than that, they'll build a real relationship with one another and finally become sisters.

You can always count on RaeAnne Thayne. In this book, she gives us another of her touching novels, exploring family relationships, both family of origin and found family, set against the beautiful backdrop of Wyoming. I loved the exploration of this sisterhood, and it was a pleasure to experience the growth and change that the characters went through as the story progressed. And not to worry! There was also some of Thayne's trademark romance thrown in for the reader's enjoyment.

First and foremost, thank you to the publisher and the author for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review. I loved this story and it was definitely worth the read!

Wyoming – Present Day
Alison “Ali” Wells was raised by her father, Carson, a literary icon. After he unexpectedly died six months ago, she received back the DNA results that her father, grandmother, and Ali had taken on a lark just before he died. It alerted her that there was someone out there who was a close relative, likely a half-sister. After doing some digging, Ali zeroed in on Juniper “June” Connolly, a high-powered executive at a company in Seattle. Ali applied for—and got a job as June’s assistant—without letting on their possible connection. However, she is not good at the job, and the day she is fired, June has a massive heart attack. Ali saves her life and stays with her at the hospital while a heart device is implanted into June. Seeing a chance to get close to June, Ali invites her to stay at the Wells ranch in Wyoming. Once June is well enough, Ali plans to tell her the truth.
June reluctantly accepts the invitation, but only because she has no other family (that she is aware of) to depend on. Life on the ranch could be boring, but she soon enjoys the views and fresh air, as well as the visits from her next-door neighbor, Beckett. Then June is given the opportunity to go through Carson Wells’ journal that he kept over the years. She soon learns that an unpublished manuscript is possibly missing. Will it open some unexpected information that neither June nor Ali knew? Meanwhile, Ali is happy to learn that her best friend, Xander, is in town on a break from his career as a travel vlogger. She has secretly been in love with him since they were teens, but he only thinks of her as a friend. Will things change now that they are adults and hanging around each other again? At what point will Ali tell June that they are half-sisters?
June was raised by her widowed mother and never knew her military dad, who died when she was a baby. Her mother died when she was a teen, so she ended up in foster care. She worked hard to put herself through school and, along with two friends, started a company in Seattle that is doing well. But June was a workaholic, and the stress led to her heart issues. Ali should hate June after she was fired, but instead, the woman stayed by her side in the hospital and invited her to Wyoming. The big question is why? But the more the two women are around each other, the closer they become. At every turn in THE LOST BOOK OF FIRST LOVES, readers wonder when June will learn the truth. The big question is how June’s mother, a married woman, met Ali’s father. Does the answer lie in the journals or the unknown manuscript?
As one might suspect by now, THE LOST BOOK OF FIRST LOVES is an emotional tale. It is mostly focused on Ali and June, with romance in the background as Ali hangs out with Xander and June struggles with her feelings for Beck. Secrets unfolding are a big part, as June reads Carson’s journals. She hasn’t a clue that she is reading her father’s words, and a mysterious woman mentioned…is this June’s mother? Readers will be glued to the pages as we need to see June’s reaction to finding out about her relationship with Ali. We also need to know if our ladies each get a happily ever after.
A beautiful story that will win the hearts of readers. Don’t miss THE LOST BOOK OF FIRST LOVES.

This was such a good book!
I was caught up in the story from the first page. The chapters alternate telling the story between Alison and Juniper. It’s an emotional roller coaster that has both dealing with becoming family and finding new romance. You won’t be able to put it down!

Friendship, found family, lost love, grief, secrets, new beginnings and life.
Alison takes an internship at a company that she actually does not want and is horrible at but, Alison has other motives. She recently lost her father and discovered through DNA kits that she has a half sister, none other than her boss June Connelly. When June suffers a cardiac event and dies in front of Alison,(while firing her, Alison is determined not to lose another family member and is able to save June’s life. Two different women with the same DNA. But only one of them knows the truth about the situation and Alison is determined to bond with and take care of her newly discovered sister, June. Even if that means inviting her back to their famous author father’s ranch across the US to rest and recover.
While June is recovering at Alison's ranch now, and Alison trying to find the right time to tell June about the DNA results there is a romantic story brewing as well for each girl and a mystery unpublished manuscript written by their late father.
Told in multiple POV's the characters are likeable and relatable. A heartwarming story.
Thank you to Netgalley and the author for this ARC in exchange for my review.

After he dies she sends in some DNA to be tested and discovers she has a half sister. she wants to meet her so she applies for an intern position in Seattle at Junipers firm. On the day Juniper is going to fteriate her internship,Juniper has a cardiac arrest and Allison saves her life and as she recuperates Alison decides to bring her to up home to recuperate and pick the right time to tell her. Beck picks them up at the airport and gets the to the ranch. See how things develop between Beck and Juniper and then there is the friendship between Alison and Xander who have been friends since the day her started grade school with her. This is A GREAT READ.

This is an enjoyable read with interesting characters and plot. In essence Wyoming as well two half daughters discover each other via a DNA test. Wonderful descriptions of Wyoming along with romance and discovery.

RaeAnne Thayne is the queen of small town stories! The Lost Book of First Loves has romance and family drama as well follow Alison trying to track down her half-sister that she found through a DNA test kit. Carson Wells, Alison (and June’s) dad recently died from a heart attack when Alison takes an internship to get closer to June. When June suffers her own heart attack and Alison is there to save her life, she decides to take some time off and recover at Alison’s family home and cabin.
I felt like Alison kept the information to herself too long and should have told June earlier, but of course we had to have some tension. I really enjoyed the romance that built between June and Beck after they got to know each other. The friendship between June and Alison was sweet and even better once Alison shared the information that she knew.

The Lost Book of First Loves…. Where to begin? This story is told from multiple perspectives but it focuses mostly on Allison and June. Allison has just graduated from law school and taken an internship at June’s company. A job she is absolutely horrible at and doesn’t actually even want. Allison has other motivations for being close to June. She recently lost her father and discovered through DNA kits that she actually has a half sister out there. That sister is none other than type A major executive at a huge company June Connelly (and her current boss). So when June suffers a cardiac event and dies in front of Allison (while firing her), Allison is determined not to lose another family member and is able to save June’s life. Two very different women, the same DNA. But only one of them knows the truth about the situation and she’s determined to bond with and take care of her newly discovered sister. Even if that means inviting her back to their famous author father’s ranch across the US to rest and recover.
I’ll start by saying that I read this book in like a day and a half. I could not get enough of it. The characters were complex and just downright likable. I was rooting for all of them. The concept of finding family after a near-death experience when you have thought for most of your life that you are completely alone absolutely yanked on my heartstrings like they were stubborn window blinds that didn’t want to open. Throw in the sweet little romance sub plots and the whole “finding yourself by accident without even meaning to” thing and I was absolutely 100% sold on this story. It’s sweet and just a really lovely read. I did find myself wanting to see more between the sisters and grandmother as I felt like that should have been the focus of the story. But Alison and June were both growing individually throughout the story and I can appreciate that. I will also note that a lot of time was spent on June getting to know the man who was actually her father in the only way she can when he is no longer around, through his writing and that was very sweet to be an observer in that.
Would I recommend it? Yes. Go forth and feel all the feels.
Huge thanks to Harlequin Trade Publishing and the author for offering this title for review via Netgalley. All opinions are my own.

3.5 Stars!
2 women, a family secret, a lost manuscript with the power to change everything.
Raised by her iconic father, Alison Wells has wanted for nothing. After the loss of her father, Alison took a DNA test that came back with some surprising results. Now, Alison is in deep and needs to meet the family she never knew existed.
Overall, I thought The Book of First Loves was an okay read. It was well-written and told from multiple points of view. The characters kept me intrigued and entertained.
I will say, it did take me a while to really get into this story. I'm not sure if it's due to the pacing of the story or because it's more women's fiction than romance. That being said, once I got to about 40%, I didn't want to put it down.
All in all, The Lost Book of First Loves is a solid read. It has a nice mix of humor, romance, and even heartbreak. The Lost Book of First Loves is perfect for readers who enjoy stories of healing, hidden identities, family, and romance.

I loved everything about this book from friends to lovers, enemies to friends to finding lost family. The characters and plot were very well written and I could not put it down!

What a beautiful and emotional found family story played out from multiple points of view with hints of romance and some suspense. June takes time off after suffering from a medical event where she attempts to solve the mystery surrounding her parentage. Ali wants nothing more to connect with her half sister she never knew she had until
Just recently. I appreciated the growth and self discovery of the characters as they addressed secrets and handled hard truths. The prose was stunning, the plot well paced and the romance based on connection and caring. An overall heartwarming story.
