I gave this a good try, an honest effort, and I have now decided to put this down. I thought the concept was very interesting. The concept of holy void, or zero-thought consciousness, is a good one, one as old as time, and something I've been trying to summon up with more and more ease and wisdom. I thought the first few chapters were fine, a little difficult to read. I understand that describing the concept of the holy void is difficult, especially because describing a wordless thing with words is almost absurd, but I found the language unnecessarily convoluted at times. The conversations section could have been interesting, but I thought the questions could have been better worded/planned. I understand that it's supposed to be conversational, but it could have been set up in a way that was more accessible and interesting to the reader, versus a little scattered, scrambled, and very much dealing with the author's specific questions as they pertain to him, his personal journey, his ego/sense of self. It became redundant too, although I didn't mind that too much because it helped drive certain points home. The bit I did read provided some food for thought, and for that I am grateful.

Thank you so much for the ARC!
