Man am I a sucker for a second chance romance. I really enjoyed this one. I thought the concept was pretty unique and refreshing, and I really appreciated how much growth and awareness Sybil had developed by the end of the novel. Going through her previous 3 engagements reminded me of the movie “Definitely Maybe”, and kept me second guessing who she was going to end up with.

Overall, I was happy with her choice and Sybil and her partner are a great fit and a perfect example of right person, wrong time eventually working out at the right time.

I'm a fan of Hannah Brown but wasn't sure I'd enjoy her romance books. I'm happy to say I really enjoyed this one. I did not realize this is actually the second book in the series but I didn't feel lost at all. It reads as a standalone. The setting painted in here was done particularly well. I felt like I was on a Hawaiian beach the entire time. The characters were easy to like and understand. They definitely made questionable decisions but they made some huge strides towards change by the end. I don't want to spoil too much but the ending was perfect and gave all the closure needed. I'd recommend it, and I'm looking forward to more books by this author.

This romance read is the ultimate summer palate cleanser! Technically second in a series it can definitely be read as a standalone as I hadn’t realised it was in a series whilst reading it.

Sybil has had 3 failed engagements and a year on from her last break-up she’s convinced by her friends to use the hotel vouchers for her would have been honeymoon and go to Hawaii. Unbeknownst to her, she will bump into 2 of her exes on the trip and addresses some of her demons from her past in order to heal.

This book is such an unbelievably easy read, yes you need to accept that this is probably all a little unlikely but this didn’t detract from my enjoyment reading it. There’s also a few more important topics covered such as anxiety and miscarriage but these are handled sensitively.

I enjoyed the book so much that I’m going to go backwards and read the first one in the series soon!

Thank you to @netgalley , @hannahbrown , and @readforeverpub for the opportunity to read this eARC!

I really enjoyed this book! Just reading the title I was trying to guess what this book was about and especially with the author being a Bachelor alumni I thought maybe it would’ve been something similar to that. I didn’t read the first book in this standalone series but it was nothing like the Bachelor!

I really loved that this wasn’t a typical romance novel, where the guy and the girl fall in love and it’s all about their love story. Although there is a love story, I found that this book was more about the FMC, Sybil, really working through her trauma and finding herself, while also navigating her anxiety. Loving herself first, and not running away from life but facing it head-on, which is more important than any relationship with a man.

This book is definitely perfect for the summer, check it out, available now! 🎉

I loved this story, it's like The Seven Husband's of Evelyn Hugo & Mama Mia had a baby. So, it's easy to say that I was hooked from the beginning.

★★★★☆ A Twisting, Glittering Journey of the Heart

Hannah Brown’s The Four Engagement Rings of Sybil Rain is a dazzling exploration of identity, love, and self-worth told through the life of a woman whose romantic history is as layered and mysterious as the rings she keeps in a velvet box. With rich prose and clever storytelling, Brown crafts a tale that’s both emotionally resonant and refreshingly witty.

Sybil Rain, our flawed but magnetic protagonist, moves through four significant relationships, each represented by a unique engagement ring—reflecting a different version of herself she either lost, created, or reclaimed. The novel balances romance with introspection, and its structure—a ring per part—offers a satisfying symmetry that deepens as the story unfolds.

Brown's characters are vivid, especially Sybil, whose vulnerability and strength are rendered with care. The dialogue crackles with authenticity, and moments of humor lighten the emotional weight. While some pacing lags in the second half and one or two plot turns feel slightly contrived, these are small quibbles in an otherwise compelling narrative.

Ultimately, The Four Engagement Rings of Sybil Rain is about more than romantic love it's a story of becoming. A memorable, thoughtful read that lingers like a bittersweet melody.

The Four Engagement Rings of Sybil Knight is my first Hannah Brown book. I thought it would go one way and was surprised it turned in another direction. Sybil has a history of not being authentic with her partners, often portraying herself as she believes her partners want her to be. Jamie was one person who seemed to accept her for who she was, but she was repeating her habits with him as well. Which, in turn, impacted their relationship. One year after the broken engagement with Jamie, she goes on her honeymoon on her own. But ends up running into not just Jamie but also another ex-fiancé.

Readers will better understand Sybil’s past, which explains why her relationships ended the way they did. Some heartbreaking moments included some sensitive topics. There are some humorous moments when she fake-dates one of her ex-fiancés. I liked how Sybil was able to recognize her patterns. It was a great ending, too.

I went into this book completely blind, and it was such a treat to read. I didn't expect to fall in love with civil rain as much as I did! Sybil is truly the star of this book. We meet her as a woman in her prime. She runs the social media page for a good sized brand, and seems to be living a solid, happy life. She's got solid friendships, a good job, and yet she's contemplating how she's not yet found herself in a solid, stable relationship.

We get to take a walk through her past relationships through brief flashbacks. It's not really a past/present timeline because we mostly see Sybil in the present tense, and the flashbacks are brief...just enough to give us a taste of how her past relationships have formed who she is today. In the midst of it all is her relatively fresh ended engagement to Jamie. What is it about Jamie that she just can't shake?

I love that we got to see some good tension in this book. Her ex Sebastian makes an appearance in a humbling yet humorous way, and she finds herself face-to-face with Jamie after a horrendous fall out. I really love how we explored all her life's experiences, the good, the bad, and the ugly, and got to see her work her way through it all to become a better, stronger person by the end.

I adored Jamie so much, and I'm happy with how the story between these two went. There was a lot of growth, a lot of tears, and a lot of self and mutual discovery that took place. If you'd like to read a beautiful book about falling in love with yourself, and allowing yourself to accept love, I think you'll enjoy this book.

ARC Review: The Four Engagement Rings of Sybil Rain by Hannah Brown ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 🌶️

Thank you to NetGalley and Forever publishing for the opportunity to read this e-ARC in exchange for an honest review.

The Four Engagement Rings of Sybil Rain continues 1 year after the events of Brown’s last book - Mistakes We Never Made. Sybil and her then fiancée Jamie had called off their wedding after a whirlwind weekend where Sybil mysteriously disappeared for 48 hours. Now, at the encouragement of her friends, Sybil takes a solo vacation to the Hawaiian resort where she should’ve spent her honeymoon with Jamie - and guess who she runs into? Jamie!

This felt like a classic second chance romance! I think readers who enjoy that trope will have a great time with this book. For me, second chance romances that are entirely based in miscommunication aren’t the vibe. Aside from the miscommunication, the book has great romantic tension and the writing style really portrayed the depth of Sybil’s emotions. Minor spoiler but I do wish that they had included a trigger warning at the front of the book for pregnancy loss, in this case it felt very jarring to see on the page without warning.

I was interested to see what Sybil’s story would be after the first book and I was somewhat let down with this story.
I did enjoy seeing the little pieces of the core 4 that we got because their friendship balances out each other.
The story starts a year after Sybil left Jamie at the altar and she needs to use her vouchers for the honeymoon before they expire. When she gets to the resort she’s surprised to see Jamie at the pool and makes up a story that she’s there with a boyfriend since she thinks Jamie’s work colleague is his girlfriend.
I just felt like Sybil kept running away from her problems and not facing them head-on. I wanted to root for her but at times it was difficult. Sybil and Jamie try to work through their issues and figure out what went wrong, but once again it was frustrating.
While there, she reaches out to her second ex-fiance, Seb, who’s on another island and then shows up at the resort and Sybil has him pretend to be her boyfriend. I couldn’t stand Seb’s character. He came across as an ass and it was not fun to read.
I did not think the whole section of the book when Sybil and Seb go out in the storm and he gets hurt was unnecessary. It seemed like it came out of nowhere.
I was glad to see Sybil and Jamie get their happy ending but this wasn’t as enjoyable as Hannah’s first contemporary release.

This is a sweet, closed door romance about past hurts and second chances. When Sybil Rain decides ti use her honeymoon vouchers from her failed trip to the alter before they expire, the last person she expects to see is her ex-fiance, Jamie. The last thing she expects to have are feelings for him. When her every move to avoid him seems to send her right into his path, she must face her past as well as her future. Cute, light read with a HEA!

this story was a hit and miss for me. I loved Sybil and her whole character: I knew I loved her from MWNM, so I was so excited to read this story! she’s full of so much love and authenticity and desire and passion, my heart broke and melted for her throughout this story.

I didn’t love the switch between male love interests halfway through the book, then turning it kind an into a love triangle (kinda, not wholly, but a little). I was fully interested in the Sybil and Jamie (even if I didn’t fully love him at the beginning) and then Sebastian kinda comes out of nowhere (and again I didn’t love him at the beginning either).

I did like how the story ultimately concluded, tying up the loose ends, but I didn’t love the multiple MMC’s split between the story.

I was going to dnf the book but when I got the ALC, I continued on and I’m glad I did bc I did like the ending.

thank you for the arc!!!

The Four Engagment rings of Sybil Rain

Just finished reading the arc of the four engagement rings of Sybil rain, and I was so pleasantly surprised. Not only did I think this was a perfect romance story it was quick, easy, fast paced, and it hooked me from the start. I was also surprised to find out at the end of the book in the acknowledgments that point that I realize the book was written by former bachelorette Hannah Brown. Not only did I watch Hannah on the bachelor, and bachelorette it also dancing with the stars. I thoroughly enjoyed it. This book follows Sybil rain who is on her third failed engagement. It’s been a year since her last she ran away on her wedding day and left the altar, leaving behind her fiancé, Jamie and she needs a break. so Sybils core for friends decide that she should use her vouchers that are about to expire for her honeymoon that she never took and go to Hawaii and have a good time so that’s exactly what she does. While in Hawaii, She not only runs into one but possibly two ex fiancé‘s and it is just so fun. I love the story. I love the pacing and it just was a really great summer read. I highly would recommend this for you if you love a good romcom, if you love a good summer romance, if you want something, that’s gonna make you smile and giggle and feel good pick this up.

Sybil has been engaged three times. Each time ended before the wedding, the last ended right before the wedding. Sybil still has a travel voucher for her cancelled honeymoon and decides to use it. She pitches the idea of doing some work from the resort and heads to Hawaii, where she promptly runs into her most recent fiancé, Jamie, with his stunning co-worker. Sensing the romance vibes, Sybil says she is there with her boyfriend. Her second fiancé is also in Hawaii and comes to the resort. Miscommunication abounds, but Sybil needs to work through her own issues first. Will she get herself a fourth ring?

At first, I felt like Sybil was the attempt of someone who has no quirks writing a quirky person. But over time, Sybil grew on me. She was a bit directionless and needed more self-awareness, but I saw the potential. Jamie was an interesting male character, and I enjoyed seeing his growth throughout. The friends were a bit strange because they seemed very one-dimensional within this story, but I think there was potential with them. I adored Seb and how we got to see his growth and acceptance of his role in the past relationship.

It was nice to have a romance that was less focused on the present and more on the past and how that has had a lasting effect.

The Four Engagement Rings of Sybil Rain follows an impulsive free spirited woman who has had 3 failed engagements. She takes a trip to Hawaii where she unexpectedly runs into her most recent ex-fiancé. This book is the second in the Mistakes We Never Made series. I've read both books, and while Sybil's story does begin in the first book, I think it can still easily be read as a standalone. I actually liked this one better than the first book.

First off, I really loved the setting in Hawaii, and the descriptions were great. It took me a while to really warm up to the characters, and honestly I wasn't positive who the love interest was going to be until pretty late in the book, so I wasn't feeling much of a romantic vibe most of the time. There's a lot of reflecting on Sybil's past while she processes through her past relationships, which could be a bit emotional at times. The story wasn't quite what I was expecting going in, but it still managed to draw me in, especially the farther into the book I got. The book was readable enough, and I actually finished it in a single day, which I don't usually do. I was satisfied with how things ended and overall enjoyed how the characters grew over the course of the story.

If you're a fan of the Bachelor/Bachelorette franchise who enjoyed Hannah Brown's charming, joyful personality on the show, you're not going to want to miss her second romcom, The Four Engagement Rings of Sybil Rain. If you're not a fan but you enjoy a well-crafted story that's rich with humor, breezy banter, and emotional depth, this would be a great time to discover this up and coming author.

I thoroughly enjoyed Brown's debut, Mistakes We Never Made and have been eagerly anticipating her sophomore novel. I'm delighted to say it did not disappoint. In this new book, Brown takes readers to a sunny, fun-filled island resort with a second-chance story that simply sparkles. In fact, I pretty much smiled through the entire book. The characters are nicely developed, the setting vibrantly depicted (I swear I could smell the ocean breezes), and the book is filled with a whole boatload of situations that are, by turns, sweet, scary, awkward, funny, endearing, realistic and completely relatable.

If you're looking for a summer read that's filled with humor, awkward moments, poignant reflections, flirty banter, mistakes (face it, we all make them), second chances, and new beginnings, pick up a copy of The Four Engagement Rings of Sybil Rain. It's a fun island adventure...with a happy ending!

OK - I was not a fan of book 1. I was weary about reading this one but i can definitely say it was much better than book 1. I really liked sybil and i enjoyed seeing her perspective and what happened / why she disappeared throughout all of book 1!

I related a lot to Sybil as a character as someone with a lot of trauma and anxiety. I appreciated her as a character because of that and was rooting for her and her happiness.

Jamie was sweet / ALMOST there for me. I just needed more from his as a character overall. He didn’t really give me much until the end of the book.

I would have loved to see more of their life together as well, but overall i enjoyed watching them find their way back to each other!

My only big criticism with his book is Sybil really needed therapy and some mental health attention. I feel as someone who sees themselves in Sybil it would have been such a wonderful addition and probably would have shot my rating to 5 stars to have seen Sybil working on herself. On page therapy would have been the perfect addition imo.

Overall, i really LOVED the audio. I truly believe it added to the story in a big way and I was super engaged the entire time. The narrator did a fantastic job at capturing ever emotion our FMC has on the page and i believe it helped my rating overall.

The vibes:
-Beach Vacation / Beach Summery Read
-Second Chance Romance
-Found Family

My favorite kind of romance book is the kind that digs a little deeper into its characters and into the messiness of life overall. I think Hannah Brown does a great job exploring her characters' turmoils and crafting a narrative that acknowledges the heavy stuff while keeping the fun beach read vibes. I enjoyed the writing style a lot as well and even dropped this book a quarter of the way in to go read Mistakes We Never Made (the story that precedes this one) to make sure I could fully enjoy this with all of the context!

Ever since I read Brown’s debut novel, Mistakes We Never Made, I was desperate for Sybil’s story. It was set up so perfectly in that novel so I instantly dove into my copy of The Four Engagement Rings of Sybil Rain to discover who she’d find her happily ever after with.

I’m happy to discover that Hannah Brown crushed it with her second novel which I loved even more than her debut and I’m all the more excited to see what comes next (I NEED Nikki’s story!!).

What I loved most about this story was the character arc of Sybil. She’s a bit of a mess only because she’s a free spirit. She’s been engaged three times, floated from job to job and never finished college. From the outside you’d write her off as someone who doesn’t have her act together but you come to discover that she’s someone who feels hard and who has had to process a lot of traumatic events in her life, mostly alone.

As the story unfolds, you come to learn more about her wedding with Jamie was called off as well as her other past relationships. I loved that she and Jamie were reconnected at a beautiful resort and how they kept running into each other no matter how awkward that felt for Sybil.

Her attempt to pass off her previous ex-fiance as her current, fake boyfriend was a fun twist as well as Seb was quite the opposite of Jamie but really embraced the role.

I also really loved the fact that Sybil worked for a period panty company. It was fun seeing her reel ideas for her work trip.

I’m really loving this series by Brown and cannot wait to get the next story of this tight friend group. Nikki really deserves her happily ever after and I cannot wait to read her story given the hints that have been dropped in this one.

Even if you haven’t read Mistakes We Never Made I think you can jump right into this one and read it as a standalone. It’s a great summer read that will have you wishing you were on the beaches of Hawaii along with them.
