I was interested to see what Sybil’s story would be after the first book and I was somewhat let down with this story.
I did enjoy seeing the little pieces of the core 4 that we got because their friendship balances out each other.
The story starts a year after Sybil left Jamie at the altar and she needs to use her vouchers for the honeymoon before they expire. When she gets to the resort she’s surprised to see Jamie at the pool and makes up a story that she’s there with a boyfriend since she thinks Jamie’s work colleague is his girlfriend.
I just felt like Sybil kept running away from her problems and not facing them head-on. I wanted to root for her but at times it was difficult. Sybil and Jamie try to work through their issues and figure out what went wrong, but once again it was frustrating.
While there, she reaches out to her second ex-fiance, Seb, who’s on another island and then shows up at the resort and Sybil has him pretend to be her boyfriend. I couldn’t stand Seb’s character. He came across as an ass and it was not fun to read.
I did not think the whole section of the book when Sybil and Seb go out in the storm and he gets hurt was unnecessary. It seemed like it came out of nowhere.
I was glad to see Sybil and Jamie get their happy ending but this wasn’t as enjoyable as Hannah’s first contemporary release.

This is a sweet, closed door romance about past hurts and second chances. When Sybil Rain decides ti use her honeymoon vouchers from her failed trip to the alter before they expire, the last person she expects to see is her ex-fiance, Jamie. The last thing she expects to have are feelings for him. When her every move to avoid him seems to send her right into his path, she must face her past as well as her future. Cute, light read with a HEA!

this story was a hit and miss for me. I loved Sybil and her whole character: I knew I loved her from MWNM, so I was so excited to read this story! she’s full of so much love and authenticity and desire and passion, my heart broke and melted for her throughout this story.
I didn’t love the switch between male love interests halfway through the book, then turning it kind an into a love triangle (kinda, not wholly, but a little). I was fully interested in the Sybil and Jamie (even if I didn’t fully love him at the beginning) and then Sebastian kinda comes out of nowhere (and again I didn’t love him at the beginning either).
I did like how the story ultimately concluded, tying up the loose ends, but I didn’t love the multiple MMC’s split between the story.
I was going to dnf the book but when I got the ALC, I continued on and I’m glad I did bc I did like the ending.
thank you for the arc!!!

The Four Engagment rings of Sybil Rain
Just finished reading the arc of the four engagement rings of Sybil rain, and I was so pleasantly surprised. Not only did I think this was a perfect romance story it was quick, easy, fast paced, and it hooked me from the start. I was also surprised to find out at the end of the book in the acknowledgments that point that I realize the book was written by former bachelorette Hannah Brown. Not only did I watch Hannah on the bachelor, and bachelorette it also dancing with the stars. I thoroughly enjoyed it. This book follows Sybil rain who is on her third failed engagement. It’s been a year since her last she ran away on her wedding day and left the altar, leaving behind her fiancé, Jamie and she needs a break. so Sybils core for friends decide that she should use her vouchers that are about to expire for her honeymoon that she never took and go to Hawaii and have a good time so that’s exactly what she does. While in Hawaii, She not only runs into one but possibly two ex fiancé‘s and it is just so fun. I love the story. I love the pacing and it just was a really great summer read. I highly would recommend this for you if you love a good romcom, if you love a good summer romance, if you want something, that’s gonna make you smile and giggle and feel good pick this up.

Sybil has been engaged three times. Each time ended before the wedding, the last ended right before the wedding. Sybil still has a travel voucher for her cancelled honeymoon and decides to use it. She pitches the idea of doing some work from the resort and heads to Hawaii, where she promptly runs into her most recent fiancé, Jamie, with his stunning co-worker. Sensing the romance vibes, Sybil says she is there with her boyfriend. Her second fiancé is also in Hawaii and comes to the resort. Miscommunication abounds, but Sybil needs to work through her own issues first. Will she get herself a fourth ring?
At first, I felt like Sybil was the attempt of someone who has no quirks writing a quirky person. But over time, Sybil grew on me. She was a bit directionless and needed more self-awareness, but I saw the potential. Jamie was an interesting male character, and I enjoyed seeing his growth throughout. The friends were a bit strange because they seemed very one-dimensional within this story, but I think there was potential with them. I adored Seb and how we got to see his growth and acceptance of his role in the past relationship.
It was nice to have a romance that was less focused on the present and more on the past and how that has had a lasting effect.

The Four Engagement Rings of Sybil Rain follows an impulsive free spirited woman who has had 3 failed engagements. She takes a trip to Hawaii where she unexpectedly runs into her most recent ex-fiancé. This book is the second in the Mistakes We Never Made series. I've read both books, and while Sybil's story does begin in the first book, I think it can still easily be read as a standalone. I actually liked this one better than the first book.
First off, I really loved the setting in Hawaii, and the descriptions were great. It took me a while to really warm up to the characters, and honestly I wasn't positive who the love interest was going to be until pretty late in the book, so I wasn't feeling much of a romantic vibe most of the time. There's a lot of reflecting on Sybil's past while she processes through her past relationships, which could be a bit emotional at times. The story wasn't quite what I was expecting going in, but it still managed to draw me in, especially the farther into the book I got. The book was readable enough, and I actually finished it in a single day, which I don't usually do. I was satisfied with how things ended and overall enjoyed how the characters grew over the course of the story.

If you're a fan of the Bachelor/Bachelorette franchise who enjoyed Hannah Brown's charming, joyful personality on the show, you're not going to want to miss her second romcom, The Four Engagement Rings of Sybil Rain. If you're not a fan but you enjoy a well-crafted story that's rich with humor, breezy banter, and emotional depth, this would be a great time to discover this up and coming author.
I thoroughly enjoyed Brown's debut, Mistakes We Never Made and have been eagerly anticipating her sophomore novel. I'm delighted to say it did not disappoint. In this new book, Brown takes readers to a sunny, fun-filled island resort with a second-chance story that simply sparkles. In fact, I pretty much smiled through the entire book. The characters are nicely developed, the setting vibrantly depicted (I swear I could smell the ocean breezes), and the book is filled with a whole boatload of situations that are, by turns, sweet, scary, awkward, funny, endearing, realistic and completely relatable.
If you're looking for a summer read that's filled with humor, awkward moments, poignant reflections, flirty banter, mistakes (face it, we all make them), second chances, and new beginnings, pick up a copy of The Four Engagement Rings of Sybil Rain. It's a fun island adventure...with a happy ending!

OK - I was not a fan of book 1. I was weary about reading this one but i can definitely say it was much better than book 1. I really liked sybil and i enjoyed seeing her perspective and what happened / why she disappeared throughout all of book 1!
I related a lot to Sybil as a character as someone with a lot of trauma and anxiety. I appreciated her as a character because of that and was rooting for her and her happiness.
Jamie was sweet / ALMOST there for me. I just needed more from his as a character overall. He didn’t really give me much until the end of the book.
I would have loved to see more of their life together as well, but overall i enjoyed watching them find their way back to each other!
My only big criticism with his book is Sybil really needed therapy and some mental health attention. I feel as someone who sees themselves in Sybil it would have been such a wonderful addition and probably would have shot my rating to 5 stars to have seen Sybil working on herself. On page therapy would have been the perfect addition imo.
Overall, i really LOVED the audio. I truly believe it added to the story in a big way and I was super engaged the entire time. The narrator did a fantastic job at capturing ever emotion our FMC has on the page and i believe it helped my rating overall.
The vibes:
-Beach Vacation / Beach Summery Read
-Second Chance Romance
-Found Family

My favorite kind of romance book is the kind that digs a little deeper into its characters and into the messiness of life overall. I think Hannah Brown does a great job exploring her characters' turmoils and crafting a narrative that acknowledges the heavy stuff while keeping the fun beach read vibes. I enjoyed the writing style a lot as well and even dropped this book a quarter of the way in to go read Mistakes We Never Made (the story that precedes this one) to make sure I could fully enjoy this with all of the context!

Ever since I read Brown’s debut novel, Mistakes We Never Made, I was desperate for Sybil’s story. It was set up so perfectly in that novel so I instantly dove into my copy of The Four Engagement Rings of Sybil Rain to discover who she’d find her happily ever after with.
I’m happy to discover that Hannah Brown crushed it with her second novel which I loved even more than her debut and I’m all the more excited to see what comes next (I NEED Nikki’s story!!).
What I loved most about this story was the character arc of Sybil. She’s a bit of a mess only because she’s a free spirit. She’s been engaged three times, floated from job to job and never finished college. From the outside you’d write her off as someone who doesn’t have her act together but you come to discover that she’s someone who feels hard and who has had to process a lot of traumatic events in her life, mostly alone.
As the story unfolds, you come to learn more about her wedding with Jamie was called off as well as her other past relationships. I loved that she and Jamie were reconnected at a beautiful resort and how they kept running into each other no matter how awkward that felt for Sybil.
Her attempt to pass off her previous ex-fiance as her current, fake boyfriend was a fun twist as well as Seb was quite the opposite of Jamie but really embraced the role.
I also really loved the fact that Sybil worked for a period panty company. It was fun seeing her reel ideas for her work trip.
I’m really loving this series by Brown and cannot wait to get the next story of this tight friend group. Nikki really deserves her happily ever after and I cannot wait to read her story given the hints that have been dropped in this one.
Even if you haven’t read Mistakes We Never Made I think you can jump right into this one and read it as a standalone. It’s a great summer read that will have you wishing you were on the beaches of Hawaii along with them.

3.5 rounded up!
Sybil, I am DIZZY from the circles we were running while you worked through your feelings. You need therapy, gf, not a woo woo energy healer.
I think we experienced the run-around a few more times than necessary, but I did find myself really wanting to pick this up and continue listening to the audiobook whenever I could. I ultimately loved how Sybil and Jamie's (and Sebastian's) story played out, even though the basis was on a big miscommunication (one of my least favorite tropes), this was done in a way that actually made sense for it to be a miscommunication. Again, therapy would be great for Sybil.
I did not read Mistakes We Never Made before this, and it definitely works as a standalone and I look forward to going back to read that one!

The Four Engagement Rings of Sybil Rain is a second chance romance perfect for your summer vacay. Set in Hawaii it has all the beach vibes I needed for our pool party this past weekend. I would say it is also gives Forgetting Sarah Marshall feels. I LOVE that movie! I absolutely adore Sybil’s love interest Jamie. Give me a strait laced rule follower any day. 😆 Sybil frustrates me at times though. Girl communicate effectively would ya?!?!
Overall I think this is a fun beach read perfect for your vacation.

Thanks to Forever for this ARC. Publication day was yesterday but I found that this book was easily read and enjoyed in a day for me. This is a perfect beach read. It was fun, sexy and tropical. Set in beautiful Hawaii at a luxurious resort we find Sybil using up her honeymoon vacation voucher before it expires. It’s been a year since her wedding day failed and she has been spending the time alone and trying to figure out her life. This trip alone was going to be a restart for her. It was going great until Jamie, her ex appears. Literally, his climb out of the pool was like a male Aphrodite exiting the foam of the sea. She then ends up lying and pretending she’s there with her boyfriend. A ton of calamity ensues and the book forces you to suspend some belief as Sybil has a crazy time failing to avoid this man. Some things I swear should have gotten her kicked out of the resort! Another ex appears at one point too! Initially when I read the description of the book I had doubts I would enjoy a FMC that appeared to be so “flighty” as the girl was engaged three times and bailed all of them. However, the reasons were pretty valid and my rage regarding one of them has led me to support Sybil in her quest. There was a deep and meaningful part of the book regarding the moon and the whole thing with periods, the moon, women’s bodies and fertility was actually quite lovely. The idea that the moon doesn’t change but just reflects the light of the sun and that the concept that we don’t have to start over after being “cloaked in darkness” but have to just find new ways to light up is perfection. This is why I read books. I love the escape and these golden nuggets of truth and beauty. While the story has some dramatic plot elements that could not be reality it really functions great as an easy beach read to help escape daily life. Enjoy!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
🌶0/5 closed-door.
I've written and re-written this review a dozen times and I'm still not sure how to put into words my feelings about this book. It was a very unique read and different from my usual romances. I really enjoyed it!
The Good: I loved the story. How the romance was very prevalent but ultimately it was a story of Sybil finding herself. She is wild and wymsical and her story is one to match. It was fun and very entertaining! I also loved the way the story was told in the dual timeline format. It was a really great way to discover the information!
The Meh: oh my god the miscommunication trope had me wanting to throw my phone out a window. I also wasn't a huge fan of the single pov.
The Spicy: there was a bit of steam and allusion to but no actual spice. And honestly, I'm okay with that. The story didn't need it.
Overall, a very interesting read. I'm glad it took me out of my comfort zone a little bit.
Thank you to Forever Publishing for an advanced copy. All opinions are my own.

Sybil is finally taking her honeymoon…just one little tweak. Instead of honeymooning with her new husband, she is going alone a year after they broke up at the altar. What she doesn’t expect is to run into Jamie, her ex fiancé. She can handle this though, she will just tell him she is there with her new boyfriend! Little does she know her “new boyfriend” is actually another ex fiancé, Seb. Sybil is juggling two ex’s, and trying to figure out the feelings that are coming to the surface in their presence.
Sometimes you need a light read that you know will hit the spot, and this book was just that! It was the perfect sit by the pool read! Sybil has certainly had her struggles with love, and honeymooning with her ex’s throws a twist she did not need! However, it made for a story they we did need! It is compared to Forgetting Sarah Marshall, which is a great comparison, and if you enjoyed that movie I think you will enjoy this book as well! Look no further for a perfect beach read!

Thank you to NetGalley, Hannah Brown, and Forever (Grand Central Publishing) for providing this eARC in exchange for an honest review.
Sybil Rain has always been sort of a free spirit. She hasn't held down a stable job, avoids bigger issues, and more infamously, can't hold down an engagement and follow through with one to end in marriage. Having three failed engagements under her belt, people are wondering if she'll ever fully commit to a relationship or back out like she has done so many times. With a steady job as a content creator in LA, she decides to use her voucher to go on a trip to Hawaii—the same place she would've gone on her honeymoon a year ago, if she had gone through with the wedding—for some R&R and some content creation ideas for her company. Upon arriving, she runs into Jamie Kauffman, her last failed engagement, at the resort. As they keep running into each other, will old feelings resurface? Or will the arrival of Sybil's other failed engagement, Sebastian, at the same resort, shake things up even more?
Going into this, I didn't realize this was the second book/follow-up to the events of Mistakes We Never Made. There's some minor references to the MCs of Mistakes We Never Made, Emma and Finn, and Emma's a side character in this book with a couple of references to Finn here and there. However, you do NOT need to read the first book to understand the events of this one!
I loved the Hawaii setting! I feel like this would be the perfect beach read this summer! Like, LOOK AT THE STUNNING COVER! I love the way the colors all mesh together and created the perfect tropical vibe and sunset.
Going into the actual story itself, I feel like the entire story would've been over in 100-150 pages if Sybil and Jamie decided to talk things out like adults. I mean, I guess Jamie tried a little more than Sybil did, but unfortunately, I could see where Jamie was coming from a lot of the time when he would talk about Sybil running away from her problems. Every time he would try to discuss something, Sybil would walk away and then try her best to avoid him for the entirety of their respective stays at the resort. I also want to emphasize that while Sybil is at fault for her own mistakes, Jamie isn't one to necessarily talk either. I didn't like how influenced he was by his family and barely stood up for her with his family during the course of their relationship. At least with Sebastian, he and Sybil had reasons for ending their engagement so that I could understand, but Sybil and Jamie ended things over one misunderstanding after the other, and the miscommunication trope was overused, in my opinion.
With that said, I genuinely thought Sybil needed legitimate therapy the entire story. It's clear that she has a lot of unresolved trauma from her past relationships and issues that she needs to work through, and I wish there were a trigger warning/content warning page at the beginning of the eARC for some of the topics that were discussed in the story regarding Sybil's past. Although I personally haven't lived through/been through many of the things that Sybil has gone through, unfortunately, I feel like there's many people out there who have, and will pick up this book not knowing what they're getting into. I included a trigger/content warning list at the end of my review.
It's also very clear that there's LA influences througout the story, but it especially comes in when Sybil talks about her "holistic healer," Gwendolyn. It was "Gwendolyn this, Gwendolyn that." What Sybil needed was an actual doctor, like a psychiatrist, and even a legitimate therapist, all things considered.
Something I wish we got more of in the story was Sybil's job. She's a content creator at Flowies, a company that produces women's period underwear, and we know she's a content creator for the company, but we also barely get to see her doing anything for said job, considering she's in Hawaii for this major once-in-a-lifetime eclipse and she was there on business to produce content for the eclipse.
Last, but not least, I wish we got more backstory about each of Sybil's failed engagements, specifically Liam and Sebastian. Liam's a major ass that needs to go to confession (considering his family is super religious) and Sebastian, while he was talked about and appeared in the story, I didn't really feel as much of a connection between him and Sybil when he was brought up. There was a fake dating trope with one guy that was weaved into the story on TOP of the second chance romance trope with the OTHER guy, and it honestly made it confusing and hard to follow at times wondering who Sybil really wanted. (Liam wasn't an issue, considering he was her high school/college boyfriend.)
Overall, if you're looking for a fast-paced, summertime beach read, this is the book for you! (Or if you're just looking for a cute cover to have on your shelf, that works too.) I'm curious to see what Hannah Brown has in store for us next; I'm really hoping Nikki gets a book!

Overall, I thought this book's premise and plot were great, but have a few issues with some of the dialogue and actions of the characters.
The titular Sybil Rain has three failed engagements and, thanks to encouragement of her friends, decides to take a trip to her would-be honeymoon location. Who should show up at the same place at the same time? Her last ex-fiancé.
I am glad I went into this blind without reading the synopsis (I mean, that cover and title grabs you right away). I enjoyed reading this book and found the ending cute and a good journey for our MCs.
I like the idea of having a messy FMC, but found some of the inner dialogue and constant references a bit jarring. Additionally some of her actions towards the end of the book frustrated me.
If you're a fan of second chances, I think you will enjoy this one.
Thank you to Forever for a copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

This was a cute quick summertime read! The story starts out with Sybil going to Hawaii using vouchers from her honeymoon that was supposed to happen last year. Sybil ends up running into her ex fiancé while on the trip. I loved seeing Sybil and Jamie find their way back to each other. Overall, a great read!

A year after her canceled wedding, Sybil Rain decides to use her expiring vouchers to stay at the hotel where she was supposed to spend her honeymoon. But when she arrives there, she unexpectedly runs into her ex-fiancé, Jamie, who’s there at the same time with a woman he introduces as his coworker. Caught off guard and desperate to save face, Sybil blurts out that she’s there with her boyfriend. And when the second of Sybil’s three failed fiancés shows up unexpectedly, he’s more than happy to play the part.
This is a sequel to Mistakes We Never Made and a great second chance romance! Honestly, I liked this one even more than the first.
The story offers strong character growth and deep emotional exploration. It was sweet to see that Sybil and Jamie still care for each other, and this book fills in so many pieces of their past that were missing in the first one. It adds richness and depth to their story. We also get to learn more about Sybil’s other engagements, her struggles, and the regrets she’s carried.
I really enjoyed this book! It’s a great summer read and I might even reread it in the future. And the cover is absolutely stunning! 😍
Thank you so much NetGalley and Forever for this ARC!

3.75⭐️
As someone who does not often read contemporary romance, I enjoyed this book. The journey that Sybil went through on this island getaway is a powerful one.
Sybil left Jamie at the alter a year ago and her honeymoon travel vouchers are about to expire. Why it take a solo vacation?? Until she gets there and Jamie is at every turn!
This self-discovery journey is important for anyone to read. It’s about good communication, self-love, and realizing you deserve to be loved in return. No matter your faults, or how others treated you in the past.
Sybil has 3 ex-fiancés and each one has its own story that help shape her into the woman she is today. It is what she does with that information that makes this book emotional.
With the gorgeous cover, I will be recommending this to everyone for a beach read this summer!
Interconnected standalone. Second in the series but you do not need to read book 1 (I didn’t, but it is the story of Emma and Finn and showcases Sybil and Jamie’s catastrophic wedding weekend.
PCOS rep. Mental health rep. Miscarriage rep. And overall uterus struggles!
Thank you to Forever publishing for sending me this book and putting it on my radar 🩷💜
