I really enjoyed this story! It was fun, yet tragic in a way that caught my attention and kept me wanting more. Hannah Brown has a way with a story and including pop culture that makes the book feel even more relevant!

The Four Engagement Rings of Sybil Rain is the second book in the Mistakes We Never Made series by Hannah Brown. I read the first book in the series, Mistakes We Never Made, last year and really enjoyed it, so I was glad to see the series was continuing.
Sybil Rain is a year removed from the wedding that wasn't, which helps to explain the road trip her besties had to take in the first novel, Mistakes We Never Made. Now she is finally going to use the vouchers from the honeymoon she never went on. She is looking forward to a relaxing, quiet vacation, but things change on a dime and her experience is anything but calm and relaxing. Not only does she encounter one of her ex-fiance's, she encounters two of them!
I enjoyed everything about this book. I liked that Sybil realized that in order for her to move forward with her life, she was going to have to face her past. She was strong, funny and she knows she wants to be loved, but who is best to enable her to find that happiness? This second chance romance with a hint of fake dating was such a wonderful read and I surely hope we are going to get more from this series!

Thank you so much for an advanced copy of The Four Engagement Rings of Sybil Rain by Hannah Brown.
I wanted to like this one so much, but it just fell flat for me. I don't want to beat a dead horse with negative comments, but the characters, the plot, the writing style...I'm not super sure why Forever has even signed Hannah Brown because this book was BAD. It was hard for me to power through even when I switched to the audio version, and I can usually listen to anything on audio. Very disappointing!
Rating: ⭐️⭐️

What a fun, flirty ride this was! If you're a fan of rom-coms with these tropes (second chance, fake dating, love triangle), you will fall head over heels in love with this book. Hannah Brown is excellent at keeping the tone light throughout this story, and keeping the reader engaged and hanging on to her every word. I don't usually enjoy second chance romances or love triangles, but this book had me kicking my feet and squealing multiple times!
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for an honest review!

I’m pleasantly surprised by this book. I wasn’t sure I was going to like it, but it was alright! I wasn’t a huge fan of the miscommunication right off the bat, and I beg for trigger warnings because the reveal is pretty shocking. It was funny, and who doesn’t love a tropical setting with two men vying for your attention, lol. Like I said, the miscommunication was crazy and literally made me want to reach into the book and strangle them all, but it also made sense given their circumstances. I will also say I had a hard time not picturing Sibyl as Hannah Brown, lol, which is fine, I did love her season of The Bachelorette 🤪. Big thanks to NetGalley and Forever for letting me read an advanced copy of this book!

The perfect summer read to sweep you away right from the start! Sybil Rain was going to get married a year ago but when it doesn't work out and her vouchers for her honeymoon are about to expire, her group of friends convinces her to go by herself. She has quite the journey as she navigates the hurt, loss, and struggles she has gone through in her love life.
Thank you to Forever Publishers and NetGalley for the digital ARC!

Okay…before I get to the book…
This cover is just gorgeous! I love the colours, all my favs.
Now to the real book review…
This is my first Hannah Brown book but I will definitely be looking into her backlist to add to my TBR.
This is yet another perfect summer read. It is still a romance and fun, but does have a bit of a lore serious note to it. I love Sybil and the journey she had to overcome to get where she’s at. The whole Maui setting for me is perfect as it’s a place I have loved visiting in the past too.
I highly recommend checking this out for a summer TBR list. As a heads up though this book includes a character who had a miscarriage, please take care when reading.

Thank you NetGalley, Forever (Grand Central Publishing), and Hannah Brown for the early access copy of The Four Engagement Rings of Sybil Rain.
The Four Engagement Rings of Sybil Rain is a second story in the Mistakes We Never Made series. The story follows Sybil, who is still healing from the wedding day that resulted in her running away from the aisle. After her third failed engagement, Sybil put her focus into work. But, when she is left with a soon-to-be expired voucher for her missed honeymoon, Sybil decides it's time to take her dream vacation to Maui. The last person she expects to see there is her ex-fiancé Jaime, and the beautiful woman he has traveled with. In a state of panic, Sybil invents a boyfriend to try to save face. What happens when a second ex-fiancé shows up?
The Four Engagement Rings of Sybil Rain will keep you on the edge of your seat with the antics and miscommunications written. The characters are written with emotional depth and growth, that it is hard to put the book down.

if you know me, you know i’m a longtime fan of the force that is hannah brown. i’ve loved her on every show she’s done and was an original listener of her podcast. i was so interested in sybil when i read mistakes we never made, so when hannah announced she was getting her own book, i was beyond excited.
this book was, without a doubt, five stars for me. i am a sybil rain supporter and defender forever.
this story went so much deeper than i expected and made me feel so intensely for sybil. this book covers panic attacks, PCOS, and pregnancy loss, all of which are discussed with both compassion and seriousness.
the romantic aspect was so much fun. i loved getting the backstories on sybil and her three ex-fiancés plus then hanging out with jamie and seb in the present! the way these characters represented the different phases of sybil was really well done. throughout the book, i fell hard for jamie. there was a lot of miscommunication throughout his and sybil’s relationship, but i felt like the growth they experienced apart allowed them to develop a new love with potential to flourish. they really are meant to be — they just needed to take the time to listen, understand, and accept each other for who they are. their relationship redemption arc kept me on the edge of my toes and i was rooting for sybiljamie endgame so hard.

Hannah Brown the Bachelorette? NO HANNAH BROWN THE AUTHOR! Hannah, Girl you can write a book! 😍
Both of her books have been so good. I loved the first one just a smidge more but this one was so good as well. Sybil is so real and relatable in many ways. We all have insecurities and doubts that we are good enough and it was really nice to have a main character have real flaws and feelings. As someone with PCOS I felt her pain on another level and I hope this book helps other woman with PCOS feel heard and acknowledged as I did. 🧡

This was okay, it is definetely a beach read. It just felt a little all over the place for me so I struggled to vibe.
If you like these tropes then you'll probably really enjoy!
Second chance romance
Forced proximity
Fake dating kinda?
Single POV
PCOS and Miscarriage representation
Miscommunication
Thank you Netgalley, Forever Publishing and Hannah Brown for a gifted copy of this earc in exchange for an honest review.

Sybil is on what should have been her honeymoon—except there’s no groom, just her and a suitcase full of emotional baggage 🧳💔. A year after her wedding was called off, she’s trying to reclaim her joy on a solo trip to Hawaii 🌴🌺. But fate clearly has a flair for the dramatic, because not only does she run into her ex-fiancé Jamie… she also runs into another ex-fiancé, Sebastian 😬💥. Yep—two exes, one resort, zero chill.
Still secretly carrying a torch for Jamie 🔥, Sybil blurts out that she’s there with her boyfriend. Enter Sebastian, who agrees to play along 😏. As Jamie starts to get jealous, the drama heats up, old emotions bubble to the surface, and Sybil finds herself navigating a love triangle (or square?) under the tropical sun 🌞.
Oh—and just when you think things can’t get more complicated, in walks Liam…her first fiancé 😳. That’s THREE exes. THREE engagement rings. But the title says four, and trust me—the fourth ring will definitely surprise you 💍👀.
This book is a fun blend of classic romance tropes:
✨ Fake dating
✨ Second chances
✨ Miscommunication
✨ Beachy, vacation vibes
Sybil is a relatable, strong-yet-vulnerable heroine, and her story doesn’t shy away from heavier topics like heartbreak, therapy, and finding yourself again 🫶. The chemistry—especially with Jamie—is chef’s kiss 💋. And while it’s not packed with laugh-out-loud moments, it’s full of heart, heat, and healing. There’s even a bit of spice in the third act for my fellow romance lovers who enjoy things getting steamy 🔥🌶️.
This is the second book in a series, but it reads beautifully as a standalone. If you love a sun-soaked setting, ex-drama with depth, and the sweet messiness of falling in love again—you’ll want to pack this one for your next beach read ☀️📖🌊.

The Four Engagement Rings of Sybil Rain 💍🌴🌺🌙🌊

Thank you so much to Forever and Hachette Audio for the chance to read and listen to this advanced copy!
I loved this book so much! I’ve had Hannah Brown on my radar since she was a contestant on The Bachelor, and when I heard she was writing romance I was interested immediately.
This book is a interconnected standalone following Hannah’s first novel, Mistakes We Never Made. I LOVED every single thing about this story. It was easy to fall into, and I loved the switches between current events and a flashback to the past, it made the book really immersive!
This book had some underlying themes of anxiety and issues with fertility that I wasn’t expecting going in, but appreciated because it really gave the story depth and substance. I’m a huge fan of second chance romance, and I LOVED not knowing who the second chance would be with!
I did a dynamic read for this book of partial eyeball reading and partial audiobook. I absolutely adored the narration from Cherami Leigh. Listening to the narration felt like being on the phone with a friend while they tell you a crazy story that you just HAVE to hear!
I do know that Hannah used a ghostwriter for this book, but you can still feel her influence over the story and its development, and I really enjoyed how personal the whole book felt. I will definitely recommend this book to everyone I know!

Third time is not the charm when it comes to Sybil Rain. She’s been engaged three times, and each time it’s ended in ruin. What’s a girl to do when her all expenses-paid honeymoon vacation to Hawaii is about to expire? Take a solo trip to shake off the past, of course.
It’s not all mai tais, spa treatments and downtime, though, when Sybil runs into her ex, Jamie near the pool. He’s there with a gorgeous “colleague” that has Sybil making up fake boyfriends and churning up self-doubt. And when the second ex of her three failed engagements shows up at the same resort, Sybil gets Seb to play along in her charade. Will Sybil be able to be honest with Jamie, and ultimately, herself, so that she can put the past behind her and make room in her heart for a fourth and final time? Or, will she leave Hawaii solo?
This follow-up to Mistakes We Never Made was such a fun summertime read. I loved the coziness of it, which was well balanced with sprinklings of adventure. Sybil was frustrating to me at times because of all her self-doubt, but I felt myself rooting her on throughout and was satisfied with the ending. It felt real and raw, and has me hoping we’ll get a third book in the series because I want to know what Sybil gets up to next!
Thank you to Hannah Brown, Forever (Grand Central Publishing) and NetGalley for a gifted digital copy of the book for an honest review.

3.75/5 rounded up⭐️
0.5/5 🌶️ pretty clean romance off scene mentions only
Definitely read trigger warnings before reading!!!
Okaaayyyy what a cute story! Loved the plot development and the relationship growth that was depicted between her various relationships.
What I took issue with was how it felt like something’s were touched on but there was more to be fleshed out to really feel the depth of it. Didn’t take away too much from the story tho and still was a great read but that was the missing piece for me of why it wasn’t a 5 star.
Alsooo I’m a therapist and I love when books include mental health rep!!! It did leave a little something to be desired the way the book unpacks some of the mental health aspects.
But overall a pretty solid read. This book was a good romance but there was more storytelling and call back to past then really developing the romance in the present.
Alsooo not a spoiler but how come there was no repercussions when she jumped off the boat and swam off nor when she takes off during the storm?!? There’s is NO way she’s not get in trouble - fined or kicked out or something idk?! Movie/book magic i guess???!!
But still despite all that it was actually a really fun read! Read it on my flight and stayed up to finish it off bc the premise and story was interesting and actually pretty gripping - wanted to see what happened.
I did love how it was all concluded and tied into her blood moon work. I love a good connection.
More than romance, this was a story about a woman who overcame her trauma and found her way back to love (loving herself and realizing she was loved so she can confidently love others too).
Go read it on your next beach vacay or flight! Good summer read that’ll have you wishing you were in a beach 🏝️

This was a fast read, with a great summer beachy setting. I had a lot of issues with it though. None of the MMCs were worthy of “romance MMC” status, they all sucked and the endgame guy was a gaslighter. And he made snarky remarks about her to his coworker, not realizing she could hear-those aren’t words to make her upset because he never intended for her to hear. And somehow he’s the great love of her life and everything is forgiveable? Nah. He certainly wasn’t the worst of her three past loves but he wasn’t the best, either. Just the richest. I would have enjoyed this so much more if it had actually followed a fake dating trope like it introduced at the beginning, but rather than have a different ex come back in days later to step into that role for a single day, have her meet someone new who becomes the endgame. This book started out with so much promise for a fun fake dating rom com beach read and it just turned into “forgive the gaslighting” and that’s not great.
Also, someone tells resort staff that an ATV got stolen and taken to a cove in *vague general direction* they are NOT going to send in a whole med-evac helicopter in the middle of a storm when they don’t even know if there’s a medical issue. All the info they had was a stolen ATV, they’d wait a few hours, see if they come back, and then they’d ATV out themselves to go look. At best, they might ATV out right away. This book is highly unrealistic, for realistic fiction, and I would not put this in Romance because of the gaslighting and manipulation setting extremely bad examples for younger readers.

Very pleasantly surprised! Sybil Rain is given the opportunity to grow as a person instead of just focusing on a happy romance. Really enjoyed the character growth (and also the amazing romance between Jamie and Sybil!)

Thank you NetGalley, Forever and Hannah Brown for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.
3.25⭐️ I was pleasantly surprised with Mistakes We Made (book #1) but enjoyed this one even more. One of my issues with the first book was too many characters (core four) that I couldn’t keep them straight since the storylines overlapped - it was probably a me problem but stuck with me 🤷♀️. This book was 99% Sybil and only the rest of the friends over phone calls and texts which I enjoyed.
In Mistakes We Made a lot of the book was about Sybil (her running away, her previous engagements, her engagement blowing up, etc) but not her perspective so to be honest she was a little frustrating. She still made some mistakes and decisions that made me want to shake her but since we learned more about her it started to make sense.
I liked the growth and self discovery that both Jamie and Sybil go through in the book.

Read this if you like:
•coincidences
•personal growth
•Hawaii
This tells the path of Sybil’s life and it was the perfect way to lay out the book! The audiobook is great and I loved the setting of Maui, the meddling friends, and growth that happened! Thank you Forever audio for eARC

I have followed Hannah Browns life/ career ever since her Bachelor to Bachelorette days, and enjoyed her first romance novel so I was excited to be sent an arc widget for The Four Engagement Rings of Sybil Rain! I was also gifted an alc (advanced listening copy).
We met Sybil in Hannah’s first romance novel, Mistakes We Never Made, and I was intrigued by her character in MWNM and hoped we’d get more books from this quad of best friends!
There was so much tension and rawness between Sybil and Jamie, and we got to see the growth of the characters since MWNM, within this book, and also via Sybil’s memories and recounting of past points in her romantic history. I thought some of Sybil’s personal growth “aha” moments were a little too easy to be real life, but maybe some people really do change how they see themselves faster than it works for me!
Overall the book was 4.5 stars rounded up! It is in my opinion a perfect easy summer romance.
