I was a bit hesitant to pick this one up because I didn’t *love* Mistakes We Never Made, but I was super intrigued about Sybil’s story we got glimpses of in that one. I’m glad I decided to go ahead with it. I really, really enjoyed the read.

I had the audiobook going while following along in the ebook. The audio was well done. Cherami Leigh’s performance added a depth of emotion and connection to the story. I believe this is the first time I’ve heard her narration and I would not hesitate to pick up another book she narrates in the future. Her different voices were distinguishable and satisfying, and she had a pleasant tone and overall style with her choices.

When it came to the complete story of Sybil and her history of engagements, there was so much more to learn about her than I expected. Her story was told through a mix of chapters set in the present that occasionally shifted to Sybil revisiting past events but also with three specific chapters recalling each engagement. At times when the timeline Sybil was existing in would shift mid-chapter, it took me a bit to catch up, but ultimately it all ended up revealing important pieces of her past in an effective way. That said, I may have wanted to shake Sybil sometimes and tell everyone they needed to learn to communicate better.

I got some “love triangle” vibes from the synopsis that I was slightly nervous about since it’s one of my least favorite tropes, but I ended up really appreciating the way everything played out. It became clear to me early on that it wasn’t *really* going to be a love triangle, but the relationships needed to be explored the way they were to get to where they were supposed to be. It was very well done.

There seemed to be a hint of a potential third book for the “Core Four” and I’m definitely intrigued about what could come in that way. Thank you to Forever and Hachette Audio via NetGalley for the eARC and ALC respectively in exchange for an honest review.

This was actually so cute. I won't lie, I almost quit reading a few chapters in. It didn't really read like a book, more of a diary, and I wasn't really vibing. However, I stuck with it, and it picked up. Still a bit slow, but once it started reading more like a story, I really enjoyed it. It REALLY picked up once Sebastian entered lol.

I have loved Hannah Brown since she was the bachelorette. I think this book added to my love for her. Yes, it was slow at the start, but the way the story played out was so sweet. A heartwarming second chance romance that was the perfect start to summer.

The audio was also very well read! I think that helped a lot with my reading. I had started with physically reading, but once I was able to listen, it picked up. Cherami Leigh did such a great job reading. She really brought the emotion needed in the tough parts. She was easy to listen to, and I cannot wait to find more books she reads for!

I really enjoyed the premise of this one, and it helped keep me invested in the story. I related with Sybil more than I expected, and that connection made me feel a little more deeply for her. Her vulnerability helped me connect with her and stay invested in seeing her get her HEA. I would definitely read more by Hannah!

I'd first like to send a huge thank you to Forever for reaching out to me to read an early copy of this book!

I'm giving this one a 3.5/4 and rounding up to 4 stars!

This was a sweet summer romance book and definitely a great choice to read while poolside or on the beach! The premise felt similar-ish (loosely) to Forgetting Sarah Marshall, which is why I read it so quickly! We have our FMC that has, obviously, had multiple engagements by the time the story starts. I loved the flashbacks that provided the reader with additional insight into what lead Sybil to where she currently is (which is a fantastic Hawai'ian resort, and frankly, can I pack my bags and go right now?!)

I love a good interconnected series, and this one read as if it could be a standalone and not miss much of the story, so if you haven't read Mistakes We Never Made, you can totally pick this one up! I truly love seeing character development, and Sybil from the beginning of the book to the end, makes such a big change for herself that you just can't help but cheer her on!

I never like to reveal too much of the story, but if you enjoy these tropes you may like this read:
- Forced Proximity
- Right Person, Wrong Time
- Second-chance Romance
- Female Friendships

TW for mention of miscarriage, PCOS, and mention of side character death

4.5 stars!

First and foremost - this book definitely deserves a content warning for mention of past abusive relationships, fertility issues (including miscarriage) & mention of PCOS. While these topics are brushed upon (some mentioned more than others), I know they can be potentially triggering for some folks in any capacity.

This is the first book I've read by Hannah Brown and I thoroughly enjoyed it! This book heavily leans into the miscommunication trope (which is usually not my favorite) but Hannah made this work really well. The tropical setting of being stuck at a resort (with not one BUT TWO of your ex-fiancés) is less than ideal but it was so, so enjoyable to read. Sybil was such an interesting & whimsical character who had real flaws, her character growth throughout the book was written really well. I was really rooting for Sybil & Jamie at the end, they made me laugh AND cry. Overall an enjoyable summer read.

Cherami Leigh narrated this book beautifully - her performance was engaging and truly a delight to listen to! If you have the chance to listen to this I highly recommend.

This story had a fun and original premise—four engagement rings, four potential futures, and one woman trying to figure out who she is and what she really wants. There were moments of humor, charm, and introspection that made the journey enjoyable, and Sybil’s voice was engaging throughout.

However, the execution didn’t fully live up to the potential. Some plotlines felt rushed or underdeveloped, and the pacing was uneven at times. While the concept invited emotional depth, the relationships and resolutions didn’t always feel fully earned. A few characters seemed more like plot devices than real people, which made it harder to get invested in the outcomes.

Overall, it’s a creative and entertaining read with some strong moments, but it didn’t quite stick the landing for me. Worth a try if you enjoy character-driven stories with a touch of romantic chaos.

I could not put this book down!!!

I of course signed up for an ARC copy of this book when I saw the opportunity pop up. I LOVE Hannah Brown.

Sybil was such a relatable character. I loved how pure her friendships were. Sybil’s feelings about her childhood are so relatable. I could see glimpses of myself in her. I appreciate that she brought up PCOS as someone who suffers from it and how common it is I had the same fears as Sybil.

The issues between Jamie and Sybil were so real and I loved to see them grow into themselves and realize their own faults and wrong doings.

It was refreshing to see her work through her trauma and be able to learn to accept every part of her self and learn to let go.

I will read any book Hannah puts out. They are the perfect gushy romance.

This is also a low spice fade to black read.

Sybil Rain is the ultimate free spirit, jumping from job to job, place to place, and fiancé to fiancé — she’s had three of them, all of which ended without a trip to the altar. A year after she and the third fiancé split, one of her best friend’s pushes her to use her voucher for their honeymoon before it expires, at a resort in Maui that Sybil’s always wanted to visit. Figuring she could use some time away, she jumps on a plane…only to run into third fiancé Jamie with a gorgeous colleague. In a moment of not thinking she blurts out that she’s there with her current boyfriend whom she dodges questions about until a few days later when second fiancé Seb shows up. Jealousy ensues and she’s forced to look at why the last engagement fell apart and how she really feels. There’s a third fiancé billed on the book description but it didn’t really play a huge role in present day except to set her up for not wanting to ever feel controlled again. I thought this was a really cute story about someone who does things a bit impulsively and when she slows down, figures out what she truly wants.

I loved how it leaned into the absurdity without losing sight of the emotional truth underneath. The humor is sharp and self-aware, but it never undercuts the vulnerability simmering beneath Sybil’s breezy exterior. There’s something so vulnerable about someone who laughs through heartbreak and pretends she’s fine when she’s anything but. Plus, the romance surprised me in all the right ways. I’m always here for pining, lingering chemistry, and a reluctant reckoning with the one that got away, and this book delivered that while also asking something deeper; about healing, growth, and learning to finally let go of who you thought you had to be. The setting adds an irresistible charm, but it’s Sybil’s emotional journey that kept me hooked. It’s a sun-soaked, sharp-tongued romp that still knows how to look you in the eye and ask if you’re ready to forgive yourself. I adored it.

his was such an adorable summer read.
Sybil Rain has been engaged three times, but never married. After a disastrous break up at the altar one year ago, she decides to finally use her honeymoon voucher and take a solo trip to Hawaii… only to find her ex is also at the resort.

It definitely gives Forgetting Sarah Marshall vibes in the way the FMC and MMC kept ending up in the same place and kept running into each other. The story is told in present day and flashbacks into what happened and where the relationships went wrong and how she never really moved on from any of her trauma. It had a good balance of humor and seriousness while also not going overboard with ridiculousness.

4.25 / 5 stars, I binged it in one sitting.

Fans of Runaway Bride rejoice! This book is for you!

I will admit when I read the blurb, I knew that I had to read this story. It isn't the type of story that I normally gravitate towards and for that I am honestly grateful. This story is absolutely beautiful. It is filled with humor, heartache and has so much personal growth. The author wasn't afraid to force self-reflection on her characters and it even caused me to have my own moment of "wait, what do I need to face". This is my first book by this author, and if her other works are anything like this one, I will be reading her entire catalog.

I absolutely loved this book and I devoured it in less than twenty four hours. I didn't want to put it down and I haven't had a book speak to me in this way in a while. Sybil is so relatable and she spoke to me on such a personal level. The book teases you on if it's going to be a romance, and while it is, I feel like it's more of a romance for Sybil with herself. She has to learn to love herself before she can step back into a relationship. This book touches on very heavy subjects: Domestic Abuse, Mental Health, Miscarriages so please read the trigger warnings, but I think that she handled these moments beautifully and if you can relate to the above, hopefully you feel the same.

Sybil and Jamie are so perfect for each other. She needs someone to ground her and he needs someone to force him to let loose. A second chance romance for the ages. I was rooting for this couple and their story flowed naturally. It felt like a couple I could meet in real life.

The fake dating aspect was more of an accident and a minor blip in the overall story. I kept waiting for it to come and when it did, I still loved it, but I would say don't read this book if that's what you are expecting. This book is about a journey for Sybil to find herself ,the romances are very second burner. I would say this is my only "ding" on the story. I was expecting a typical fake dating romance based on the blurb, and while we do get those moments, again they don't really appear until the last 30% of the story.

This is such a cute read but powerful read. I adored it.

Thank you NetGalley, Forever publishing and the author for this gifted ARC in exchange for my honest review!

First, I’d like to thank NetGalley, Forever (Grand Central Publishing), and Hannah Brown for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

This was such a cute and enjoyable read! What stood out to me most was how atmospheric the writing is. Hannah Brown has a gift for transporting you into the story—while reading, I felt like I was right alongside Sybil in Maui, basking in the sun, feeling the humidity cling to my skin, smelling the plumeria in the breeze, and sinking my toes into the sand. It’s truly beautifully written.

I adored Sybil's quirky personality and appreciated her emotional journey as she worked through the heartbreaks and missteps of her past relationships. I especially loved how she leaned on her found family for support and advice—those relationships were just as meaningful as the romantic ones.

Seb was a fun addition to the story, though he felt a bit unnecessary at times. And Jamie... wow. There need to be more Jamies in books! Seriously, what a man.

Overall, this was a light, heartfelt, and fun read that I would 100% recommend—especially if you’re in the mood for a story that blends humor, heart, and healing with a tropical backdrop.

I was hooked from the first page of The Four Engagement Rings of Sybil Rain! I hadn't read the first book in the series, but this was a great standalone.

Sybil who is free-spirited returns to Hawaii to face her past—three broken engagements—and wrestle with whether her fourth chance at love will finally stick. This story blends second chance romance, fake dating, and a love triangle into a witty, heartfelt journey about finding yourself and daring to be seen.

The writing is vivid yet effortlessly readable, diving deep into insecurities we all know: not feeling “good enough,” fearing adulthood’s pace, and craving love that embraces your whole, messy self. Sybil’s growth had me riding a wave of emotions and rooting for her every step.

A cozy, adventurous summer read with heart and humor. I’ll definitely be reading more from this writer! Thank you to NetGalley and publisher for the ARC!

This book does the fmc you root for who is also relatable, and funny really well! Sybil is just complex enough to give us something different, but not overly done to the point of being dry. While I did roll my eyes a couple of times because - girl! I mostly laughed, teared up, and reminisced right along with her.

Liam can fall off a cliff, Seb deserves the world, and Jamie eventually gets to a point with me where I would be okay with him lol.

I love the premise of it, and I love the moving timelines because the device is used well to move the story forward and give us information without being too under or over cooked. I loved the side characters of Ash and Dani, and of course her friends The Core Four. Definitely would recommend as a summer read!

Rating: 4.25/5
Spice: 1/5

This book was chaotic—in the best possible way. This took me on an emotional ride that’s full of heartbreak, self-discovery, and second chances.

What Stood Out:
- Sybil's character arc: She starts off as this flighty, free-spirited runaway bride, but the deeper you get into her past, the more you understand why she’s guarded and unsure. Her growth throughout the book is genuine and emotional, especially as she opens up about her trauma.
- The backstory layers: At first it feels like classic rom-com chaos (two exes at the same resort? What are the chances?), but once you learn about her first engagement—pregnancy, miscarriage, and PCOS diagnosis at just 17—it hits different. That trauma shaped everything.
- The exes: Each ex represents a different chapter of her life. Jamie is stable but tied too closely to expectations. Sebastian, the second fiancé, is carefree and fun but ultimately unreliable. And Liam, her first, brings the most pain and unresolved grief.
- Found family vibes: Her friends encouraging her to take the trip, the fake-dating twist with Sebastian, even the resort staff at times—there's a strong feeling of support and humor that balances out the heavier themes.
- The setting: Starling Ranch Inn felt like a character in itself. That warm, tropical energy with hidden tension simmering beneath was the perfect backdrop for a story about untangling emotional baggage.

There’s a lot of plot and emotional weight packed into this book, but it’s all done with heart. I think Sybil’s story will resonate with anyone who’s felt broken and unsure about their future—but still hopeful enough to try again.

What a fun summer romance read. I loved Sybil's character - all the messy imperfections, and work she put in to overcome some past traumas. It was refreshing to see strong female friendships as well. I loved the setting, and the use of humor in a lot of the interactions - balancing out the angst of seeing an ex after a year.

I always enjoy a timeline that moves around as well, learning about backstory through previous scenes. I wished Jamie's family had not been quite so awful (or at least changed more with the story), but overall this was a solid read and very enjoyable.

This was a good palate cleanser in between some more serious reads. Entertaining with an endearing fmc, who is far from perfect but has a big heart. At times funny and others a bit heartbreaking.

I had so much fun reading this book. The writing is smart and fizzy, the kind that made me grin, but then sideswipe me with a gut-punch of unexpected emotional clarity. I loved the way it pokes at the rom-com tropes while still being swoony and warm. The romance has layers and tension, but what really stayed with me was how it explored heartbreak not as failure, but as growth. I enjoyed it.

this one is for the readers who enjoy flirty, lighthearted titles.

I struggled to connect to the main character, Sybil which made it hard for me to be fully engaged with the book.

The premise of this title was promising and seemed fun and unique which is what drew me to it from the get, I do think it's well written and that the right reader will absolutely eat it up
