This book was full of short stories that will creep you out! It definitely will make you think about things! It was a good read for 10-12 age range as well. Especially if they enjoy creepy little stories.

An interesting set of short stories. It would make for some good stories for preteens and teens to tell. A fun read.

This is a fun little book with one short story for every day of October. They are typical ghost stories, so this is the perfect gift for children and pre-teens that's just started expressing interest in horror stories. But don't expect it to be "fully illustrated " as is advertised, there's one full page colour illustration of a scene per chapter. Not an graphic novel at all. This unfortunately means I'm giving this book a worse rating than the stories dese, I would've given this a 4/5 if not for the discrepancy between the blurb and the actual book.

I loved it! This collection of ghost stories gave me the willies! It has just the right amount of anxiety to make me a little bit jumpy. Even the good ghosts were creepy! The illustrations are very nice too. Great book!

Halloween isn’t a day. It’s a lifestyle. That’s why I got a little greedy for Camp NetGalley and requested 31 Days of Spooky.
A very fun mix of spooky short stories, each with corresponding picture. Some were sweet or bittersweet while others were creepy or scary. Some characters met their doom (always adults) while others found their way home. It struck that balance that middle grade horror often does of fear and hope.
The writing was consistent across all the stories with the same third person voice. A few stories needed a little bit more detail to evoke the necessary chill. Others felt more like a beginning to something bigger. Several were delightfully contained little thrills. Much like trick or treating, there were lots of fun flavors to be had. One for each night of October or August if Summerween is your jam.
I would have LOVED this as a kid and enjoyed this as an adult. Perfect for those who want a little scare. 4/5

You can either read one story leading up to Halloween or just while camping and sitting around a camp fire. They are all very short and take no time to read with illustrations through out.
I think the stories read more like middle grade then teens. I didn't find any of them scary. They kept my attention for the moment but nothing jumped out at me that would make one memorable over the other.

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for letting me review this book. This book seems more geared towards kids since I thought it’d be scarier since it’s geared towards adults and teens. This would be a good read to get kids into the Halloween mood.

Unfortunately it wasn't for me. To he honest I expected something like a graphic novels but instead I got not well written (and I'm really sorry for these words) stories.
I'm sure this book will find it's reader.

This was a wonderful anthology of spooky stories. I wouldn't say they scared me as that's hard to accomplish these days, but the stories were entertaining and would be perfect for a Halloween read.

Great for YA or easy reading during the Spooky season! Got me wishing it was Fall year-round! Really appreciated how easy and quick they were to read, super cute and plan on reading these to some kids in the neighborhood.

This is a cute selection of short stories for Halloween season. While they are meant for the younger crowd, I enjoyed reading them to my kids.
They aren’t very scary and some are pretty silly, but they’re great for kids. They are like a tamer version of Goosebumps or Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark.

I enjoyed this book for what it was: an anthology of spooky stories that were bite-sized and with a hint of the unknown. My favorites were probably the stories that featured the living getting to reunite with their past loved ones! What didn't hit the mark for me was the final lines of each story: they took some thinking for me to understand what the spooky punchline was intended to be, and oftentimes I just didn't care enough to linger, or I felt the story missed the mark. There were a few that I would've liked a few more lines in to give a bit of a resolution as I felt the endings were too jarring. The illustrations that accompanied the stories were a nice touch, but often I found those to be more gruesome than the story themselves.

The stories were hit or miss for me but I do love short stories so this was still a fun read. I will say that it's harder to find kids short story collections and spooky anything always does well so I think this has a place on the shelf. Not super scary. I think the "Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark" series was scarier. Decent storytelling but nothing spectacular.

I only got to the 6th story and then decided to DNF this. This is marketed towards middle grade children and all of the stories were adult main characters that I read. I was expecting something like goosebumps or something but this wasn’t it. The stories I read weren’t scary. It was rather dull in my opinion. Would not recommend for kids at all! All opinions stated were solely my own! Thank you so much to Netgalley and the publisher for a copy of the arc in return for an honest review!

This would be a really fun and interesting read if I were 10-12 years old. It’s definitely childish and geared towards kids. I want one for adults so I could do a Halloween advent-type thing! Does that exist?
The stories are all very different and offer a variety of types of “spooky” vibes for all types of readers’ interests.
My favorite was “Summer Party” because it had a nice little twist. ☺️
I LOVED the pictures in the book, though! The pictures are definitely scarier than the stories - and done very well.

It's exactly what I expected the book to be. Some of the stories were great, others weren't as great, but there weren't any I would say were bad. I loved the illustrations throughout and it was an easy and quick read.
I would highly recommend to anyone who loved reading spooky short stories when they were younger. These stories are perfect for a sleepover or reading around a campfire.
**Thank you to NetGalley and Harper Celebrate for the advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

I grabbed 31 days of spooky by Harper Celebrate as part of Netgalley's Summer Camp Campaign.
With just under 200 pages, it is shipped as "ghostly ghost stories to send a shiver down your spine", which made me think of the Goosebumps Series I read, and watched as a kid.
The Stories included are: Buried Treasure, Down with the ship, Summer party, High score, Late check-out, The closed carousel, the haunted heist, family ties, molly's dolly, married in the morning, jailbreak, the night nurse, the last word, rockabye, "quiet please", all that glitters, beware the reaped, here comes the bride, under the surface, man's best friend, stopped in his tracks, last call, christmas past, all aboard, play me a song, the show must go on, picture perfect, lost and found, the final shot, hide-and-seek, and the curse of the north.
I really wanted to like this collection of stories but found it really disappointing. Not only were they not spooky, even for younger readers but a lot of them felt unfinished, versus leaving them on a cliffhanger.
I received this advanced reader copy from NetGalley in exchange for my honest opinion and review.

Did not read as it was hard to read through netgalley reading app on my phone, would be good if there was a kindle version

This book is such a Halloween delight! 31 Days of Spooky is packed with fun little ways to celebrate the season - everything from recipes and DIY crafts to movie night ideas and spooky trivia. It’s like having a cosy Halloween countdown all in one place.
I loved how it mixes cute and creepy without ever getting too scary, so it’s perfect for families, Halloween lovers, or anyone looking to get into the autumnal spirit. The design is super cute too with fun illustrations and a festive vibe throughout.
