What a fun and thrilling book for the kids! And the illustrations are a nice touch to give it a scary edge! 3 Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️!

The stories are spooky and perfect for campfires and slumber parties. Love that each story had artwork to go with it, kinda like the show Night Gallery. The artwork was well done and just beautiful. The stories were decent, not super scary but enough for children to be afraid. Give you just a little chill and to look over your shoulder.
Thanks to Netgalley for letting me have this chance to read this book.

Prepare for Halloween by reading a story each evening to your kid! This book is a fun collection of 31 stories ranging from creepy to quirky.
The stories are quite short, and, as expected, there are some stories that are better than others. The book was marketed to me as teen/YA. I would classify this more as a book for middle schoolers. I didn't think the stories were scary, so it would likely be a miss for older teens and adults. It has the perfect amount of spooky for a pre-teen without keeping them awake at night!

Even though this book is to be read slowly, one story every day, I couldn't put it down! Each story was memorable and felt like episodes of the old show Fact or Fiction! None of the stories were too scary, but every one was just the right amount of spooky. The illustrations were fantastic and added so much flair to each tale! These would be great in October, but I think they'd be even better if they were read around a campfire!

Very, very short, spooky stories that would be perfect to celebrate Halloween every day for the whole month of October.

This is basically a collection of 31 spooky-ish stories, perfect for Summerween vibes. Unfortunately, I didn’t find them very spooky at all. This book is definitely more aimed at kids. I did enjoy the illustrations a lot though! They added a fun little extra to the experience.

A collection of short stories appropriate for tweens through adult. Great variety, none are too scary. Very mild horror at best. A quick read but fun. Colorful artwork accompanies each tale in the book, adding an additional element of fun.
Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for a readers copy of the book. My reviews are freely provided and never contain spoilers.

A nice read even if not outstanding, and definitely more on the eery side than on the scary. Some stories were better than others, a few felt a bit clumsy, others more heartwarming than anything. The best thing were the illustrations, the unfinished but saturated look gave them a nice “pulp” look.

Thank you to #harpercelebrate and #netgalley for the ARC of this book.
This collection of short stories that sends shivers down your spine was a fantastic read. Some of the stories I didn't find particularly creepy but others were 100% spook spook! This book also gave me nostalgia of when I realized that this book reminded me of Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark! I would recommend this book to whomever likes spine tingly creepy stories without gore.

This collection of spooky stories is a solid 3 stars. While it says for adults and teens, this is a very juvenile collection overall and would say this is more suited towards middle schoolers and younger for the most part. The illustrations are well done and even spooky in a few instances. The short stories have no mention of the involved authors anywhere. This was a quick morning read for me as most stories were in the 2-7 page range.

This was a nice collection of spooky stores, but it did feel more ya than I was expecting. Still, fun read and would be perfect for spooky season!

Fun little read, I don't have a particularly strong opinion on this, it was definitely enjoyable! I just saw the cover and thought hey that's quite cute wouldn't hurt to read it😅

A short book with thirty-one short ghost stories. The blurb suggests these stories be read one a day for the Halloween season, or even read around a fall campfire. And while it claims to be for teens and adults, I disagree. These lack depth, so they fall into the early middle school age range.
Disclaimer, I selected this book from NetGalley's limited 'required' book selection for their badge achievement during their summer event of Camp NetGalley.
The blurb's suggestions to read out loud I agree with because these stories are not very descriptive and really do need a talented storyteller to give these tales life, because these short stories are mostly telling and not showing. This book is a great example of why I am not a fan of stories this short... the plots are simple, the stories are quick and to the point; lacking descriptions, character and world development
Yes, some of the stories are 'cute' and a few have a mini 'creepy' factor, but nothing scary. The illustrations are a nice touch, though they would be hard to 'see' when the only light is a campfire.
While most of the stories have adult MCs, and some younger readers may not understand the entire meaning of those stories, I still feel that readers ten and older would like these, though an older audience, especially teens, would enjoy a storyteller instead of reading these themselves.
Because these were telling and not showing (a few words sprinkled here and there would give them some life), I can only give this...

31 Days of Spooky is a book complied of 31 short stories, perfect for Halloween and Halloween lover no matter the time of year. I enjoyed reading these short stories with my little ones - the had a blast and were truly entertained. (They're 4 and 6 and love Goosebumps!) The illustration is a huge plus, however, I don't think I would recommend this to adults craving a quick jump scare. It's definitely a children's book, maybe even young adult.
Thank you NetGalley and Harper Celebrate for this one!

I have mixed feelings on this one. I loved the idea of 31 short stories, but I didn't like how some would leave you hanging - this is why I typically don't like novellas, lol.
I thought the illustrations were so interesting, but perhaps there weren't enough?
Some of the stories were fun while others were just kind of meh.
I'm not sure adults would like this, but perhaps teens who are 13/14 would.
This would be a fun book for September/October.
Thank you NetGalley and Harper Celebrate for an e-copy of 31 DAYS OF SPOOKY to review.
I rate 31 DAYS OF SPOOKY three out of five stars.

2.5 ⭐️ I don’t like that there isn’t an author listed for any of the stories but besides that I think the stories are good for ages 7-15. They weren’t my cup of tea BUT I tried to keep an open mind for what a mid grade reader would enjoy. I think this would be a good spooky story for them to enjoy either reading or it being read to.

2.5⭐️
First I’d like to address the fact that no author is actually listed anywhere on this book; no author per story and no author listed anywhere online. The author is only referred to as Harper Collins. This concerns me for a multitude of reasons I won’t get into in this review. The main reason this book is receiving a 2.5⭐️ is due to the stories- they are advertised as being for teens and adults, however, they came off as more middle grade. I’ve read Goosebumps books that are scarier than this. The art was really cute and I enjoyed that. I couldn’t find the artist information anywhere on or inside the book either, however.
This book is perfect for a 9-12 year old that loves Halloween.
Thank you to NetGalley, and Harper Celebrate Publishing for the advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

I read this book with my kids and they loved it! I like that they were short. We were able to finish the book in a couple of days. Would recommend!

I really enjoyed this fun collection of spooky short stories. Perfect Halloween read for kids and kids at heart who enjoy horror.

This is a collection of 31 different stories, each accompanied by amazing illustrations!
I have to admit I went into this book, expecting scary stories, so I was a little disappointed at first but then I realized the title says spooky, not scary, and I started to enjoy reading it more!
The whole design of this book, like font, chapter numbers, page background,.. is so well done. It really adds to the spooky experience. The stories were more of the paranormal than scary kind but that’s okay, I enjoyed reading them. I can see myself reading one of them each day of October.
The first story was too short to accomplish what it clearly wanted to. A story like this needs time, a build up of tension.
The second story was one of my favorites. I thought I knew where it was going but it had such a beautiful unexpected ending.
I would have loved to read the third story as the base of a lengthier, maybe even novel length story. It was so interesting but too short.
I’m not going to review every single one of these stories but the overall idea is that even tho some were too short or predictable, others weren’t and I enjoyed reading this book. The illustrations being my favorite part!
Thank you NetGalley and Harper Celebrate, for letting me read this digital advanced reader copy, in exchange for my honest review.
