Thanks #NetGalley for the advanced copy of #RoadTripwithaRogue by Kate Bateman in exchange for an honest review.

Kate Bateman is an autobuy author for me now. This was a great finish to a fun series. Road trip tropes are always a favorite of mine because of the forced proximity and the possibility of a Only One Bed situation. You'll have to read this one to find out if it happens in this book. I was so excited to get Daisy's story as we've watched her in the 1st 2 books of this series be fun and flirty. This book has the added bonus of not only hitting that road trip/forced proximity that I love but it's also a 2nd chance romance because Daisy and Lucien have a past together and since things didn't end well, you have some great banter (something that Ms. Bateman is fabulous at writing) and because of the past, it's easier to accept the quick trip to falling in love. I really can't say enough good about this one!

Hurry, run out and buy this one for your shelves!

What a fun ride! I was hooked from the first line and botched robbery! Their chemistry was filled with great banter and it’s been a long time since I’ve seen a Hellion heroine and Rogue hero pairing! I’ve been a fan of Bateman for a while and she’s at her finest here! Great steamy scenes and enjoyable romp of an external plot!

The story of Lucien & Daisy is exciting, captivating and utterly delicious. I love a good highwayman romance. I loved the natural evolution of their romance. There was animosity and teasing but there was always an underlying emotion that they just couldn’t accept. I adore a teasing sort of love, that angsty, antagonistic sort of affection. It creates such wonderful anticipation like a boiling pot ready to spill. The chemistry between these two was on fire. Their banter was addictive and the way they actually talked was a pleasant surprise. This story was so good I could not put it down, listened in one sitting.

Beverly Crick does a great job with narration. She easily captures the tone of the time period combined with the intensity of the characters. Her masculine voice makes you forget this is solo narration.

Man, what a wonderful end to this series!

Summary:
Daisy is the unmarried daughter of a duke who is also a vigilante. She is attached by highwaymen- you know, doing vigilante shit, but stumbles upon her long time crush, Lucien (Duke of Someplace). Daisy decides Lucien can assist her in travelling to Gretna Green for her vigilante assignment and then proceeds to be SHOCKED that inns they stop at only have one bed! Gasp! And what do you know? Lucien has been secretly pinning for Daisy for years! Adventures continue (including a kidnapping!), we see cameos from all our past beloved couples and the series end with the HEA.

The banter and chemistry between them were off the charts and I really appreciated the overall levity of the book. I did, however, feel that some story plot points were left hanging- i.e why he didnt just tell her he loved her from the beginning. I also feel like it was a bit anticlimactic in the end, but still a nice book overall.

Thank you #NetGalley for providing me with an eARC in exchange for my honest review.

I have very much enjoyed the earlier books in Kate Bateman's "Her Majesty's Rebels" series, and Daisy's story is no exception. Daisy and Lucien have so much chemistry, and their banter is incredibly amusing. Lucien is no stranger to Daisy - he is a long-time friend of her brother AND a long-time crush of her own - but their love story really gets going when she accidentally holds up his carriage in her quest to stop anyone gentleman from eloping to Gretna Greene with a young debutante. Lucien also has a vested interest (unknown to Daisy) in the eloping couple and thus offers to 'help' Daisy track them down, setting the stage for romance through such tropes as forced proximity and one-bed.

This book was just lots of fun. Like Bateman's other heroes, Lucien falls hard and fast and does so without expecting Daisy to change who she is and how she spends her time. This book, and indeed the series, is worth a read.

4 stars. Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for a complimentary copy of this book. These opinions are my own.

An enjoyable read!

I really enjoyed this book.
The road trip is so entertaining.
The main characters, Daisy and Lucien, are charming. Together, they form the perfect pair. From the start, their bond and chemistry are palpable.
Daisy and Lucien’s journey to love combines humour, action, struggle, and passion. Their tumultuous interactions with one another drive the plot.
It's a delightful blend of wit and sensuality.

Road Trip with a Rogue is the third book in a historical romance series following women who run London's most successful private investigation firm by Kate Bateman.

Though this is the third book in a series, you can read it as a standalone. I was so excited for Daisy's book and reader, I absolutely ate it up. I read it on my Kindle and I savored it.

Kate Bateman has quickly become an auto-read author for me, because I know I'm going to have a good time. I adore how she writes banter between her mains, and her steamy scenes are great. Not to mention, her covers have some of the best clinches in the modern era.

I've loved Daisy throughout the series so far--she seems so cool and fun, always armed with knives. Lucien was a great partner in crime for her, and I absolutely bought their chemistry.

I had a lot of fun with this book! I completely agree with the author here:

If you like banter, highwaymen, only one bed, forced proximity, two idiots who love fighting as foreplay, and SO MUCH YEARNING, then absolutely read this book because you’re going to LOVE IT.

Tropes: second chance, enemies to lovers, road trip, forced proximity, he falls first, only one bed, brother's best friend

CW: violence, firearms, abduction

I love Kate Bateman books so much. I have been waiting for this book for some time and I was not disappointed.

This series has been so good.

I don't know how I am only discovering the magic that is Kate Bateman now, but this was gift that keeps giving. ROAD TRIP WITH A ROGUE is filled with so much angst and chemistry. It's everything you want in a romance. ....and the best thing? There's so much more out there that Bateman has written. Not only did I whip through ROAD TRIP WITH A ROGUE, I'm now whipping through everything else Bateman has ever written. I will definitely be reading whatever comes out next.

Ok I really liked this one a lot!
The heroine is likable and goes after what she wants, the hero is duplicitous and charming. What’s not to love?

I will definitely read the others in this series but I did read this one first and had no issues following the plot- can be read as a stand alone.

Thank you netgalley for the ARC of this book

This road trip romance with highwayman, kidnapping, and forced proximity was so fun to read. I loved the tension between the two characters, especially since the enemies-to-lovers were thrown in with them but they secretly liked each other. I also enjoyed how Kate Bateman wrote the entire book. Yes, I did get upset at one point when she dangled my favorite trope at me right within reach and then took it away, but I'll forgive her since I still really enjoyed the story. I always love a good road trip romance since it always has great forced proximity and shenanigans that the couples always end up in, and this was no exception. Kate Bateman did a wonderful job with this book and series and I can't wait to see what she comes up with next! If you are looking for a historical romance with banter, then definitely check this one out.

I found this story enchanting and hard to put down. A story filled with highwaymen, an eloping couple, a distracting Duke, an investigating lady, and a fun adventure. Daisy and Lucien had a past which ended on a sour note due to misdirection on purpose. Love never disappeared, though hate made Daisy forget her heart's desire. Lucien was underhanded, sneaky, and hopeful. Loved it.

I received a copy through Netgalley, and this is my unsolicited review.

Bateman does it again! This is the third book in Her Majesty's Rebels series, and l've loved every single one!
If you enjoy the forced proximity and one bed tropes, then this book is definitely for you! The banter between Lucien and Daisy is so witty and playful. I love that they are genuine with one another and really talk about what's on their minds.
As always, Bateman writes male characters who fall first and are very possessive and protective of their love;
Lucien is no different, but he is a bit of a darker character than the others.
I absolutely adore Tess, Ellie and Daisy and their tenacity and determination to carve out their own space in an otherwise rigid society. So happy that all three have found their happily ever afters!

Road Trip with a Rogue, the third and likely last book of Kate Bateman's Her Majesty's Rebels series, centers around Dorothea "Daisy" Hamilton finding love, snarky banter, sizzling chemistry, and commitment in the arms of her girlhood crush, Lucien William Devereaux Vaughan, the twelfth Duke of Cranford, six years her elder. Vaughan has been a close friend of her three older brothers, most specifically her oldest brother, Devlin, future Duke of Dalkeith and the main male character of his own love story - My January Duke (Rake Review series 2 - coming 2026!) - which should be a treat as well. Not having read the previous two books in the series, I found that I was easily able to fill in the blanks as to events that occurred with her two best friends, Ellie and Tess, co-founders of their private investigation agency of King & Co., and their now husbands, and quickly became absorbed in Daisy's storyline, Despite starting at the end of the series, I enjoyed this book and plan to go back and read the previous two books (adding them to my TBR list!).

That said, since this was the first full-length novel by Kate Bateman that I've read, it certainly won't be my last. Bateman writes in a fluent, easy style that is fun to read (and/or listen to, since I listened to the audiobook version), and her main characters are well-matched, even though they start their road trip not quite on equal footing or complementary goals. I admired Daisy's commitment to her job and her work ethic, and who doesn't love a duke who has been secretly in love with his friend's little sister for the last five years? I will say that Beverley Crick, who, I believe, narrates all of Bateman's books, wasn't my favorite narrator and at times, Daisy came off as being perhaps more petulant and childish than she was meant to be in reality. Lucien's voice could have been a little more suave and later, more emotional too, but the story itself is endearing, as Lucien is brought to his knees (literally, for love and to propose) despite an earlier deception on his part.

All in all, a really enjoyable story that is well-written and well-paced. It was a great mood lifter for me, after the book I had read before it, and though it won't make one's heart squeeze or twist in angst, it does have a very satisfying HEA ending and epilogue that put a smile on my face with the turn of its last page.

I read an Advanced Reader Copy from St. Martin's Press through NetGalley, and I am leaving my honest review voluntarily.

So much fun and yet again Kate Bateman's signature banter hits a home run. This road trip romance is quite an adventure and I was hooked from the very start.

The third story in the Her Majesty’s Rebels, Daisy Hamilton and Lucien Vaughan, Duke of Cranford meet when she holds up his carriage instead of heiress Violetta Brand and his nephew who are eloping to Gretna Green. I enjoyed reading their well written story that held my interest and kept me turning pages. I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Road Trip with a Rogue is a rollicking good time with a knife wielding heroine and a hero with something to hide. As they team up on the road to Gretna Green to thwart an elopement, sparks fly. The plot moves swiftly as our main characters are on the move but stalls a bit as they are stationary. Daisy is a smart and spunky heroine and Lucien is smitten, as will be readers. Recommended for fans of Sarah MacLean and Tessa Dare.

This is the third installment of the ladies behind King & Co investigations, this time focusing on Daisy.
She is paired with Lucien Vaughn, a Duke that has been in her orbit for several years via her brothers.

This was a fun, unique forced proximity story. I enjoyed the sparing between these two as their adventures unfolded. If only they could communicate!

Add in a fun supporting cast and this was a treat of a historical romance that highlights the dichotomy of English Society of the time.
