The third book in the Her Majesty's Rebels series does not disappoint! This story is very funny and very sexy....when Lucien and Daisy - who have met before - are thrown together in a carriage on a journey to intercept a couple attempting to elope. But, they are not working for the same outcome and this creates tension as their trip continues. And, the fact of their nearly out-of-control attraction to each other drives the sexual tension through the roof.
Overall - it's a fun, funny, sexy and emotional historical romance and a lovely ending to the series, too.

Road Trip with a Rogue is a fun, flirty, and fast-paced romance packed with adventure and sizzling chemistry. Daisy is a smart, capable heroine who solves high-society problems for a living—and isn’t afraid to wield a knife when needed. When her mission goes off-track and she's forced to road-trip with Lucien, her brother’s friend and the man who broke her heart, sparks fly. The years of longing between them simmer perfectly under the surface, and their banter is top-tier. If you love second-chance romance with danger, wit, and a heroine who holds her own, this one’s a treat.

You know how there are just some authors that you open their newest book and after one paragraph, you sigh and your shoulders relax from life's stress? You know how there are some author's characters that make smile throughout a book? Well, Kate Bateman is that author, and the characters are from this book! Daisy and Lucien - I love them! The wit and banter had me smiling throughout the book, and the ending was <chef's kiss>! I love Kate Bateman's books, but this one..... 😍
Thank you to St. Martin's Press | St. Martin's Paperbacks and NetGalley for providing an eARC of this book. All opinions are my own.

Now THAT is what I call a road trip!! It starts with a little teeny tiny mistake (oops, holding up the wrong carriage), and the adventures just keep rolling. I really liked Daisy, she was bold and determined and so lovely. Lucien annoyed me a little (as heroes often do when they keep secrets and try to maneuver things to their liking), but he was also wonderful and thoughtful. Truly a lovely addition to the series!

Road Trip with a Rogue is a delightful Regency romp filled with witty banter, simmering tension, and just the right amount of danger. Kate Bateman wastes no time throwing Daisy Hamilton into chaos, starting with a case-gone-wrong that lands her face-to-face with the one man she never wanted to see again: Lucien Vaughan, Duke of Cranford. The premise—two stubborn former lovers forced into close quarters on a journey through Scotland—sets the stage for an irresistible mix of forced proximity, slow-burn rekindling, and verbal sparring that sparks with every page.
Daisy is a fantastic heroine—capable, clever, and unapologetically bold, with a sharp tongue and a knack for getting herself into trouble. Lucien, with his war-hardened cynicism and unexpected vulnerability, makes an equally compelling match. Their shared history gives their attraction a crackling undercurrent, and Bateman leans into both the humor and the heat of their predicament. The road trip format allows for plenty of engaging set pieces, from comedic mishaps to tense encounters with danger, all while keeping the romantic stakes high.
While the plot has its fair share of predictability—seasoned romance readers will see some turns coming—it’s executed with such charm and energy that it hardly matters. The dialogue is snappy, the chemistry palpable, and the pacing brisk, with enough action to keep the story moving between romantic beats. Road Trip with a Rogue blends adventure, romance, and a touch of suspense into a thoroughly enjoyable historical escape, perfect for readers who love second-chance romance wrapped in danger and desire.

She's King & Co...
I really, really liked Daisy Hamilton. Brave, courageous, spunky, great at her job...She's been hired to stop and elopement. Her nemesis is Lucien, the Duke of Cranford. They kissed five years ago when Daisy was eighteen. He deliberately and cruelly broke her heart. On purpose. Yet, he calls out her name when he is doing his mistress and fantasizes about her when he's with brunette courtesans. Nope. Just no. No more guys with mistresses and he is sure to have a STI being with paid courtesans and mistresses.
Daisy deserves a better man, not one who never apologizes, gets his way all the time and is there to ensure that she does not succeed at her job.

Daisy is a fierce heroine and goes in search of a runaway debutant. She runs into her old crush Lucien along the way and he agrees to travel with her. Along the way, Daisy and Lucien connect and realize they care for one another. When they get to Scotland to stop the runaway couple there are some unexpected twists that keep this story engaging. In the end they realize how much they mean to one another.

This was a fun read by Kate Bateman. It's been awhile since I've last read a historical romance, but this story held my attention. Daisy and Lucien had some history together before the present day and it was fun to see them give in to their attraction to each other. This was a great story to end the series, but can also be read as a standalone.

All i can say is this book kicked off me wanting to read more Regency romance books. My mother use to read books like this all the time i am now excited that i am old to read such books. One of my favorite to own. Cant wait to read more from this author. Thank you NetGalley and St. Martin's for the chance to read this.

Daisy and Lucien are so unconventional. Neither of them cares what society thinks of them. Daisy is trying to stop the elopement of a couple and is on a dark road when a carriage comes by. She is thinking it is the couple and when some highwaymen stop the carriage, Daisy feels she needs to intervene. She did not expect the man that she was fascinated by to be in the carriage. Daisy does not back down from anything or anyone. Lucien has always had a thing for Daisy, but he was going to war, so he didn't let her know how he felt. Now he is back, and she is even more appealing. Daisy thinks she hates Lucien for the way he treated her on his last night before he left for war. Lucien says he will help Daisy in her quest to find the couple. Can she trust him? The more they are together, the more Lucien wants to marry Daisy, but will she trust that he does love her?

I love a good road trip romance and Kate Bateman knocked this one out of the park! It was a truly delightful read. I particularly loved Daisy and her spirited personality but I was completely captivated by Lucien! He was just so very charming. Their chemistry and witty banter kept me thoroughly engaged.
Right from the beginning Daisy and Lucien are forced into some interesting situations of proximity and I couldn't have loved that more. The spice was amazing and I enjoyed their passionate relationship. This book was fun and fast-paced. I didn't want to put it down! The only slight problem with it was the miscommunications. They were a bit frustrating at times. Overall this was a fantastic ending to a wonderful historical romance series. I'm a little sad to be saying goodbye to these characters.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are my own.

I always enjoy a Kate Bateman novel, and this one doesn't disappoint. Daisy and Lucien are great foils for each other. The development of their relationship is extremely enjoyable. Highly recommend this one!
Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for advanced copy, and I give my review freely

2.5 - 3 stars
I had high hopes for this one, but sadly it didn’t completely work. The book started off promising and I felt invested in Lucien and Daisy and their road trip shenanigans. I loved that Daisy wasn’t some damsel in distress virgin. She was intelligent, brave, and wasn’t afraid to go after what she wanted. The banter between her and Lucien was wonderful and I really enjoyed their back and forth. Unfortunately, by the halfway point, the story started to slow as the focus shifted more to an idiots to lovers/miscommunication situation. The book started to drag and having them not realize the truth/continue to misunderstand each other lasted for way too long. I liked that the main conflict wasn’t a “real” conflict and that there wasn’t a break up or anything, but it was also annoying because it could have all been avoided if they just told each other how they felt. I had to really push myself to finish this one, which is a shame because I normally really enjoy Bateman’s books.
*I voluntarily read a review copy of this book*

So much to love in this book! How cool is it that women own a private investigation company. What are the chances that they are hired to prevent a wedding at Greta Green. And along the way Daisy will run across her long lost love. As they race toward Greta Green the story unfolds. A well written book that kept my interest and kept me up late into the night flipping the pages. Excellent, entertaining and fun to read.

Road Trip With a Rogue is the third book in the Her Majesty's Rebels series by Kate Bateman and if you haven't picked up this series yet, you are missing out. You'll definitely want to read the first two books because you need to know all the characters in this series but if you wanted to I suppose you could read this as a standalone...but I would highly recommend them all.
This book's fmc is Daisy Hamilton, the third lady in the group at King & Co, London's premier private investigation firm and she's on a case to stop an heiress from eloping but what she didn't count on was a run in with her past which just happens to come in the shape of one Duke of Cranford, Lucien Vaughan—the man who broke her heart five years ago. She also doesn't know that he has a stake in this elopement so when he proposes a road trip to "help" her out, she reluctantly agrees.
Lucien is determined to see his nephew married but when Daisy unexpectedly shows up with plans to ruin his plans he proposes they follow them but he does everything he can to slow them down. In the meantime, he realizes he is willing to do anything it takes to head Daisy off, even use seduction to slow her down and he will enjoy himself along the way because he never stopped caring for her when they parted ways.
I loved these two together. Once they get through the trip to Gretna Green, there's still plenty of story to get to know these characters and fall in love with them. This book has a great mix of all the things I love. Great banter, interesting characters, only one bed trope, and so much more. If you're looking for a new historical romance to pick up, I highly recommend this one.

This book was really an absolute delight. I want to gush about the proposal. What a man, he listened to her and gave her exactly what she wanted and needed to say yes. Both having been in love with one another and fate brining them back together under the right conditions was perfection. Lucien is hotttt girl! He literally is a touch her and die. I am here for it. Perry and Violet being the opposite of these two was so humorous. Daisy was well written as she didn’t come off as not like other girls. Just a feisty and stubborn woman when appropriate.
Note: there is talk of SA and attempted SA but it is off the page.

Daisy Hamilton’s mission for King & Co., is to stop heiress Violetta Brand from eloping. She mistakenly holds up the carriage of Lucien Vaughan, Duke of Cranford—the man who broke her heart five years ago.
Lucien is determined to see his nephew married to Miss Brand, but the unexpected appearance of Daisy could ruin his plans. They follow the runaway couple together and Lucien decides to delay Daisy by any means possible to ensure his plan is carried out.
After an unexpected enemy threatens Daisy’s life, Lucien realizes she’s the only woman for him. Their past encounters have made Daisy almost as jaded about love as Lucien himself. Can he convince her that this time he is serious about love?
Great for fans of historical romance.

When trying to stop some thieves from overtaking a carriage, Daisy unwittingly chooses the wrong coach to stop. Daisy and Vaughan will keep you on your toes as they rush to stop an elopement. Lots of attraction and witty banter will keep your attention.

I've really enjoyed this series and this one is no exception. Our final gal in King and Company is finally getting her match. Daisy was always the "badass" one who's not a virgin and can wield her knife like nobody's business. And now on her latest mission her path crosses with her brothers' friend, Vaughan. Who she has history with. Without giving away spoilers, I have to say I was expecting more history...but in any case... We have a shared carriage, one bed, caution thrown at the wind, and of course a non-proposal proposal. Kate Bateman is great at drawing chemistry with her characters especially when they are at odds. It's sparking, and then you have to fan yourself a little... Especially when they get together. There is a lot of action in this, as expected, but what i wanted more of, was maybe overt realization of feelings between them. You felt it hard on one side but not necessarily the other, though it was shown with words... I enjoyed the final act at the end of it and tied the story together in a really cute way.
This was fun and looking forward to the next series!

Kate Bateman sure knows how to write a story. It's why she is one of my favorite authors, I know every book will be just what I need. This book was exactly that!
I do NOT want to give any details away, Trust me, you'll want to discover these twists and turns yourself.
What you do need to know is it’s absolutely wonderful. in this story we meet Daisy Hamilton. She is a force of nature herself. Strong willed, stubborn, and an independent woman. She is working for, King & Co. private investigation and she is on a case to stop a runaway couple. Now after she mistakenly holds up the wrong carriage in her pursuit, she runs into Lucien Vaughan who is in the carriage. He is a man from her past who broke her heart, the Duke of Cranford. He has his own plans until a woman he has never forgotten puts everything in a twist. Past passions put things into an even harder predicament.
You will love every detail in this story. Bateman always creates great characters with dynamic back stories. It's packed with humor & wit, adventure, and some amazing passion. You can’t help but love the story from the beginning and not want it to end. A wonderful addition to the Her Majesty's Rebels series.
You will want to go on this roadtrip! Enjoy the adventure.
