The book was everything! And may be my new fave Jennifer Hartmann book! Coming-of-age romances are always my favorite and the fact that it was also a second chance? I knew I was a goner, lol.
Lexington Hall and Stevie St. James’ worlds should have never collided, as they are from different social circles and opposite sides of the tracks. In HS, they both had big dreams of making it big in Hollywood. But something traumatic flips their world upside down, only Lex moves on to reach ultimate stardom while Stevie is left behind in their small town.
Four years later, their paths cross again which places Stevie in the limelight and suddenly she’s become a star in her own right. What was the cost, you might ask? Well, Stevie agreed to a fake relationship with Lex for all in the world to see. So what begins as an opportunistic offer turns into something else as old feelings reemerge and fiction and reality begin to blur.
I loved this book with my whole heart and OMG, the feels! I teared up for most of the book which is rare for me, lol. The story was great! I binged it in two sittings as I could not get enough! If the YA label is making you hesitate to read the book, I encourage you to please give it a try. I think you will be pleasantly surprised! 5⭐️
Thanks so much, Jennifer and Bloom, for the eARC in exchange for my honest review! 💕

If you like Jennifer Hartmann, Dream On is definitely worth reading. It has many of her signature elements: slow burn, emotional complexity, broken characters, second chances. It’s cozy in its own way too, especially in the quieter moments and Stevie’s farm life.
But it’s not one of her most memorable in terms of raw‑agony or shocking twists. It feels more familiar: you see what she’s doing, you see the pieces, some parts satisfy, others less so. If you want something that shakes you or surprises you, this might not be your favorite from her—but if you’re in the mood for something heartfelt, romantic, with depth but not totally draining, this hits that mark nicely.

Jennifer Hartmann can do no wrong.
Another absolutely fantastic book that takes you on a rollercoaster of emotions.
I cried, I swooned, and by the end I didn’t know what to do with myself.

I am loving Jennifer Hartmann’s writings and she topped it with this one! I just don’t think she can write a bad book! They are always so well written and all the stories are so different from the others!
This one follows Lex and Stevie. Their first encounter was not a pleasant one to say the least. Unfortunately it wouldn’t be the only time they cross paths. They are now being forced to work together for a school play.
They end up becoming best friends but then something tragic happens which end turns leaves Stevie all alone due to Alex disappearing. Several years later his agent shows up wanting Stevie to play the part of his fake girlfriend for publicity. Lex stated that he would pay her and she really could use the money. What is the harm?
One day turns into more and now she is bringing back up old feelings. Now she has to decide if it is best to go back home before she gets hurt or stay and see what is to come.
Such a good book!

Thank you to Valentine PR for the ebook arc in exchange for an honest review!! I’ve been a Jennifer Hartmann fan for some time now, I always know she’s going to put me through it, but this take was not what I was expecting!
This book put me through all the emotions. I loved Stevie’s character. She’s so wholesome and sweet. She gives more than she takes and her heart is bruised because of it. I felt so many emotions for her character, but most of all I felt anger. She deserved better.
The rollercoaster of a friendship/relationship she has with Lex was a lot. They were definitely opposites in almost every way. He needed her to feel safe and loved. The more you get to know about his past, the more heartbreaking it really is. Check your trigger warnings.
I didn’t love this book as much as others in the past, but I appreciated the way she wrote this story and developed these characters (some a bit slower than others) it took me a bit to really get into the book, but I got there!! This is definitely a slow burn!! But the story makes it worth it.

"If she writes; I will read it.” Tropes: ✨Contemporary Romance ✨Hollywood’s Golden Boy ✨Farm Girl ✨Fake Dating ✨Forced Proximity ✨Emotional ✨Time Jumps ✨He Falls First Honest Review: without spoiling the book 🫣 I Seriously Don’t have words for this masterpiece Totally different from the dark traumatic books Jenn has written in the pas, but she never disappoints. Book, after book; just amazing. Jennifer Hartmann Pours her soul into her witting because her books just hit so hard into my soul. I had the amazing opportunity to be part of the ARC Once again. Now this book was emotional and I love it! The story of Lex(MMC) and Stevie(FMC) was just beautiful, emotional, childhood Trauma and with so many obstacles getting in their way. I felt so much sadness for Lex How can a mother be Okay with what happened to him: I hate it that witch. I just wanted to punch her 🤣. Parents need to protect their children. Even-though Stevie Dreams changed along the way: she was there for lex whenever he needed her. She lighted up lex life again. This book didn’t have as much spice as the previous books, but to be honest dream on didn’t need the spice and that’s a first for because love me some Smutty books. And yes, I will 💯% will recommend this book! This book needs to be in your TBR. Thank you so much to Jennifer Hartmann and her team and also to Valentine PR. For this amazing ARC!

This book broke my heart and then broke it more and more and more. I felt so sad for Lex and all he was put through. I've also never been so angry at the characters that did him so wrong. He was so young and innocent. My mama heart just wanted to take him in and help heal him. Luckily he had Stevie even when she should have just left him. Stevie has such a huge heart and sees the good and the love in Lex like nobody else does. The depth of Lex and Stevie as characters kept me reading and wanting more as they matured and grew on their own and as a couple. The layers to each of them was so beautifully done. I loved seeing them as teenagers and then getting to see them as young adults that have matured and blossomed into their own people. They came back together at the perfect time and healed each other while also healing me from the trauma in part 1 🤣
I loved this book and would reccomend to anyone!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🌶

Every story Jennifer writes captivates me, and Dream On was no different! Her ability to make you feel the emotions of the characters is something not many can accomplish. This book has 3 ACTS and each one had me feeling all of the feels. It follows Stevie (Nicks) and Lex (My Christian) navigating high school, and then into adult hood where they get the happiest HEA ever. My heart breaks for Lex, for how his heart has turned black from a life that was chosen for him. One that made him empty. And Nicks is so down to earth I could see myself being her friend. I love that she always says what she actually feels. And how given what both of them had gone through they made it out happy in the end. This is a story of growing, of true friendship, of love and truth. And one that will have your heart in its hands throughout.

I absolutely loved this books, it took me about 2 days to devoured this book. It will tug on your heart strings, but it’s a definite five star read for me.

This was my first JH book and it definitely won’t be my last! Dream on sucked me in completely. It was emotional and beautifully written. Dream on is split into three ‘acts’.
Hollywood golden boy meets small town dreamer in act one, when, at 17, they star as the leads in their school production of Moulin Rouge. My heart was totally shattered 😢
“Come what may, right?” “Come what will.”
I loved the second chance romance in act two. At 21 Lex and Stevie re connect. This act started to heal what was broken in act one and then proceeded to break my heart again!
Act three saw my poor hear put back together, but better than it was before. The trauma and healing of Lex and Stevie is so precious. Have tissues handy!
I loved everything about this book and I can’t wait to dive into everything Jennifer Hartmann has written!

I read my first Jennifer hartmann book last year and since then I have read most of her back list. It’s safe to say that I have been so excited to read this book and it definitely has blown me away. Lexington Hall and Stevie St. James are complete polar opposites. Lexington is Hollywood's Golden child and Stevie is a dreamer from a small town. This book just felt so realistic.
This book has all of my favorites:

I honestly just love Jennifer Hartmann's writing. This wasn't just a romance. It was a story about what happens when your dreams dont come true and you make mistakes. This story went from past to present and along the way, you learned so much about who Lex is, the trauma he has experienced, and the relationship with his family.
Stevie and Lex meet when they get into an accident. Lex is a young actor, and Stevie just wants to chase her dreams of becoming an actress. Lex and Stevie get the leads in a school play, where they are forced to spend time together running lines. One night, there's an accident where decisions were made. Lex and Stevie meet again years later when Lex approaches her to be his girlfriend for the night. Along the way you learn so much and experience the slowest burn ever.
I will always recommend a book Jennifer Hartmann writes so add it to your tbr.
Thank you too @valentine_pr_ and @author.jenniferhartmann for giving me this opportunity to read Dream on

If Jennifer Hartmann writes it then of course I’m reading it. JH books are always an emotional rollercoaster and this one was no different. It was full of trauma, love, hope, healing and heartbreak. I loved Stevie and Lex and getting to watch them learn and grow from the past. I felt all their pain and their hope and it had me root for them the whole book. Run grab this book if you love fake dating, second chances, forced proximity, angsty & emotional books.

Stevie and Lex’s story will break your heart 100 times and put it back together every time! This was such a beautiful story and the angstiest slow burn everrrrr. Lex was very misunderstood but Stevie’s love and patience with him was so beautiful. Five stars! Loved it

But, like… the fake dating? Was it necessary? I don’t think so. Needless to say, I was hooked on these characters as teens. I wanted more. But them as adults? Felt a little underwhelming. That is not to say it wasn’t beautifully written or had some great moments. However, it just fell a little short of the high quality I know Jennifer Hartmann can create. Lexington was not someone that I wanted for Stevie (as teenagers, yes), but as an adult, he was bleh. I needed him to break more. I needed more drama or something to propel this into 4 stars. I just wasn’t sold on this book, and that is okay because I still love Jennifer Hartmann.

I received this ARC in exchange for my honest review. Thank you!

This book captured me from the first moment and never let me go until the final word. Jennifer Hartmann is so good at drawing the reader in quickly, putting them through the emotional wringer, and then picking them back up again beautifully. I was sucked in immediately and could not stop reading. I loved Lex and Stevie's story and how it went throughout the years with so many things to overcome. I cried many times and absolutely loved this beautifully written emotional story. Such a great book.

The way I devoured this book In literally less then 24 hours is insane 😭
It had me hooked from the very beginning, and having the MMC Lex as the one with the trauma broke my heart but watching him grow and overcome it was so beautiful. I love Stevie, and the way she’s written through the whole book, she’s soft but fierce and loyal, her and lex literally made me kick my feet ❤️

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of A Dream of You by Jennifer Hartmann, and wow. I loved this book so much! She never disappoints. Both characters were written with such depth and intricacy.
Lex goes through so much, and it was beautiful to watch him grow, learn to cope with his past, and begin to heal. Stevie plays such a huge role in that, she brings out the best in him, even when he struggles to let himself have it. At first, Lex gives off a bit of that “bad boy” vibe, but as the story unfolds, you see just how sweet, kind, and caring he really is.
This is such a beautiful story of two people finding themselves, taking their time, and ultimately becoming even better together. Jennifer Hartmann always writes such layered, realistic characters who reflect the way people truly cope with life and this book was no exception.
I might be a little late posting this review, but I can’t recommend this one enough. I truly loved it! 💕

This gifted storyteller knocks it out of the park again with a good girl/bad boy, wrong side of the tracks, forced proximity, and destined soulmates romance.
It starts in high school, when a childhood TV star shows up at a suburban high school, and the nerdy theater girl catches his eye. We quickly find that nothing about Lex Hall is as it seems, and somehow Stevie St. James is the only peaceful piece in his life. Then the school year is over and Lex disappears.
Fast forward a few years, and Lex now has a Hollywood hit series on his hands that puts Stevie front and center for the entire world. His people convince Lex that bringing Stevie back into his life is good for business and the kind of publicity no money can buy. And Stevie agrees because the financial incentive will help her family.
This one is unbelievably complex and unbearably sad. I adore a hero like Lex because all I want to do is wrap him in my arms. Life circumstances have done all they could to mess him up, but there's still a kind guy with a good heart under all that…mess. And Stevie manages to hold on to all her goodness and beauty despite Hollywood's best effort.
If you’ve not read a Hartmann romance you’re really missing out. Trust that your soul and spirit are in capable, careful hands and jump into this feet first, then hold on tight for the emotional ride of your lifetime. Ruinous and heart-wrenching but inspiring and fulfilling, this will be one of your favorite reads this year

Jennifer Hartmann has my heart and will probably always have my heart. She ruins me in the best way possible. Dream On had me hooked me from page one and refused to let go.
Lexington Hall is Hollywood’s golden boy, but underneath the fame and money is someone craving real, unconditional love. Stevie St. James? She’s a small-town girl with big dreams, a killer voice, and no patience for cocky actors—until a literal car accident throws them together. Next thing they know, they’re co-starring in their high school’s Moulin Rougeand their connection is impossible to ignore.
Their chemistry is electric, their banter was freaking addictive. I never saw any of the curve balls coming. Lex disappears. Four years later, he’s back, using their story for a TV show. A fake dating arrangement forces them into each other’s lives again, and every wall they’ve built starts to crack around them.
This book gives you all the feels and leaves you emotional. It is a slow burn but it’s perfection. I felt every high, every heartbreak, and every unspoken word between Lex and Stevie. I just felt it all with them. Watching Lex grow was exactly what we needed! I also loved that they were messy, flawed, and so real that I couldn’t help but root for them.
I devoured this over a weekend. When I finished, I just sat there thinking about how much I enjoyed this book.
