A brief and simple yet compelling book packed with insightful chapters and tidbits on how to be your best self. Each chapter begins with a song title (I have to make a playlist!) and ends with affirmations. I liked her thoughts on enriching our lives by connecting with a lot of different people throughout our lives and to remember that friends are like seasons. She has chapters around being confident, true to yourself, being in the moment, being brave, kind, wellbeing, loved, accepting, happy, authentic, connected, forgiving, playful, still , hopeful, patient, grateful. By having each characteristic as its own chapter, I am able to refer to the ones I am still working on within myself. Regarding patience - when she said "Was I understanding and tolerant of my dad when he became dementia? Not entirely" - that hit me in the heart. My dad passed away last year and I would get impatient with him as his dementia took hold. I feel incredible guilt for this so to see her express it here, gave me some comfort.
