The perfect summer book that brings community together. Family, Big hair, friendship, illness, The Silvers, 4th of July and reminds me of Steel Magnolias. Full of summer charm.
A fun novel and my book club is getting a traveling ARC and I can’t wait to share my thoughts..

I could not put this book down. I loved the way that family relationships were explored and elaborated on in such detail, which everyone can relate to. The relationship between Georgia and Junie was so delicately dealt with and evoked every emotion possible, It made me laugh and cry all the way through. I will be recommending this book to everyone.

Thank you so much for the opportunity to read this ARC!
The story has a wonderfully calm and relaxing vibe, making it a perfect read for summer.
The pacing felt a bit uneven at times, with some scenes lingering longer than necessary. One thing I struggled with was the recurring theme of lying and miscommunication among the characters. It made it harder for me to connect with them, sometimes them being just unlikable. It’s a bit disappointing because it did affect my overall experience.

This was such a cozy and heartfelt read! I loved the Southern small-town setting and the family dynamics, especially the relationship between Georgia and Junie. The hair salon felt like a character itself, and the Dolly Parton touches were so fun.
While the pacing felt uneven at times and some character growth could’ve gone deeper, I still really enjoyed it. A great read about identity and sisterhood.
Thank you NetGalley and Harper Muse for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Good Hair Days is a charming, cosy read set in a small town filled with quirky characters and family drama. June’s Beauty Shop is a central character itself, providing a safe space for the women of Whitetail. The dynamic between Georgia and Junie is relatable, especially Georgia’s struggle with family expectations and finding her own path.
The pacing is a bit uneven, with some parts dragging and others feeling rushed. It’s more about character development and the town’s atmosphere than plot twists, so if you're looking for action, this may not be for you. Some family secrets feel unresolved, and a few characters, like Junie, aren't always likable, but it still offers a heart-warming story about family and self-discovery.
Overall, it’s a feel-good read that's perfect for fans of small-town stories with a touch of drama.

Thank you NetGallery for the chance for me to read this as a ARC Read.
Good Hair Days...
I just couldn't get into it as much as I tried, The character's were just there didn't click with them. The story was repeating to much for my liking. Loved the small town vibe.
Guess this book is good to cozy by the fire and read with a hot chocolate.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. Thank you NetGalley, Thomas Nelson and Grace Helena Walz for this advance copy! It took me a while to read this book but mostly because i was reading it in between other reads. I don’t want to say much on the plot just incase, but I loved our main protagonist Georgia & Junie. Was a bit thrown off by the two different pov styles in the beginning but i easily adapted. the small town in georgia vibe was excellent and i am glad i read this during the summer! Such a sweet book. I really liked it!!
A review on tiktok will be published in the next week and on youtube in july!

This was my first Walz book but definitely not my last! I immediately checked out another one from the library after finishing Good Hair Days. Right away it gave me strong Steel Magnolias vibes. I absolutely loved Junie and Georgia and reading about their life. Walz has an amazing way of writing in which you feel that you are actually right there with them on all their adventures and issues. This one was a quick one day read for me and I was still thinking about the girls even after the book was finished. Highly recommend.

I just couldn't get into this book. The miscommunication trope was really heavy with this one, and was completely avoidable and felt a bit forced. I also couldn't bring myself to care about the characters - maybe because of the annoying miscommunications, so I was not invested in the plot.

set in a small town a story of two sisters who must work together to save a beauty shop. one sister runs the shop and has to ask the other sister for help.

Good Hair Days was honestly such a cozy read. It’s got all the small-town Southern charm you’d expect, quirky side characters, lots of family drama, and a beauty shop that feels like its own character. I loved how the author made June’s Beauty Shop this safe space for the women of Whitetail. It gave the story so much heart and nostalgia.
Georgia and Junie’s dynamic was probably my favorite part, being both messy, real, and relatable. If you’ve ever had complicated sister vibes, you’ll get it. Georgia’s struggle with trying to live up to everyone else’s expectations while also figuring out what she actually wants was super well done. I was rooting for her the whole way.
That said, the pacing was a little uneven. Some parts dragged while others felt like they were wrapped up too fast. And I wouldn’t say this is a super plot-heavy book, it’s more about the characters and the town than big dramatic twists. So if you go in expecting more vibes than action, you’ll probably enjoy it more.
Overall: a solid feel-good read about family, identity, and going back to your roots. Not life-changing, but definitely a good hair day of a book.
Thank you NetGalley and publishers for this ARC

This was a really beautiful story with a deep and meaningful outlook that I wasn’t quite expecting when I picked it up. But I loved it so much it’s very unique.

Good Hair Days tells the story of a multigenerational family-run hair salon, June's. To save June's from financial ruin, two sisters Georgia and Junie must work together to raise the money needed to complete a half-finished renovation and finally work out how to be honest with each other about their desires for their future lives.
I was immediately attracted by the book's premise. I really liked how the story emphasises the way in which we can become trapped in identities assigned to us by our families and the toxic effect this can have in later life. This is cleverly mirrored in a story line involving genetics in the story too. Loved the setting of the hair salon and the small Southern town where everyone comes together to help a small struggling business. At times it felt like there was a bit too much happening in terms of plot which came at the expense of deeper character development for Georgia and Junie.
Readers who enjoy the show Steel Magnolias will definitely enjoy this book!
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for a free copy in exchange for an honest review.

A wonderful read!
This novel drew me in from the very first page and kept me hooked until the end. The characters were vibrant and relatable, the writing was engaging, and the story had just the right balance of heart and humor. Highly recommend!
Many thanks to NetGalley, the author, and the publisher for my ARC. All opinions are my own.

I really liked the idea of this book and was super excited to get this arc, however the story fell kinda flat to me. I love the family dynamic but I feel like the characters were lacking.

The tone of the book is calm and peaceful, but the characters didn't resonate with me throughout the story. Ultimately, I'm neutral about the entire novel.

.
I loved this book. Set in a southern small town Good Hair Days is about Family but also Grief & loss.
I liked thet its core, Good Hair Days is about a family (and small town) that come together to support each other when things get tough. There are touching moments of the family embracing each other, flaws and all, and overarching sweet sentiments around grief & loss.
Unfortunate, two key things ultimately made this story fall a little flat.
First: this is a story full of half truths and lies that slowly unravel. However, part of them don’t make sense to me (e.g., I’m unclear why all the secrets Cece shares were secrets in the first place). And the other part stem from an unhealthy family dynamic that I don’t support (e.g., Georgia living her mom’s [and aunts’] dreams; none of the woman being able to ask for help even from the sister’s father because he isn’t ’a Louise’).
Second: I don’t find the characters all that likable (e.g., Junie forcing Eddie to keep her secret is selfish and lacks empathy for the position she puts Eddie in). And while the secret come out throughout the book, the character growth feels minimal (e.g., Junie doesn’t actually learn to embrace support from her family, she still avoids sharing critical news

I loved this book. Set in a southern small town Good Hair Days is about Family but also Grief & loss.
I liked the main characters Georgia and Junie but I also wished we saw them grow more as individuals. I didn’t find Junie all that likeable but honestly I like that it makes it feel real. You’re not going to like everybody you meet in life.
Thank you Grace Helena Walz, Harper Muse & Netgalley

Emotional and heartfelt, with definite Steel Magnolias and Dolly Parton vibes.
This story dives deep into the complexities of family touching on trauma, sisterhood, lost love, and everything in between. It’s rich with themes, though at times, there may be a bit too much going on, which can make it harder to fully connect with the emotional core.
I enjoyed Georgia and Junie, but I found myself wanting a bit more growth from them by the end. After everything they go through, their personal development felt a little underwhelming.
Still, a moving read with a strong Southern flair and lots of heart.

I love small town southern stories and while this was an overall good book plot-wise, I couldn't really find any way to connect to the characters. That is just a personal thing, has nothing to do with the author's work. Like I said, overall good book plot-wise with good humor, tough conversations, and that warm small town embrace.
