A cute, short fairytale. Can be read as a stand-alone.
Emily is sent to save the production of a reality TV show. They are supposed to be finding Prince Luc a princess to marry, but he has run them all off. As she spends time with Luc, she begins to see that he is not the person portrayed in the media.
I enjoyed this. I am typically not a big fan of novellas. While I would have preferred this to be a full length novel, and I think the story would have supported it, it was a cute, quick read.
I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.

What can I say about of Emily and Lucas! Nothing negative that's for sure. This story was very cute and it gave me butterflies in my stomach and not many stories can!

The Cinderella Princess by Melissa McClone was OK. I was happily surprised to find it was decently clean in the intimacy department. The worst that it got was the characters fantasizing each other now and then and it wasn't long or too drawn out. As far as the romantic aspect however, I wasn't convinced.
Emily Rodgers is an American woman who is extremely career driven. She has a goal to become partner at the company she works for, so she busts her butt to make every job succeed. She is tasked with saving a potential reality royal engagement show, because the prince is such a player that he is unsuccessful at landing a second date. When Emily arrives to start making changes, she is surprised in her attraction to the prince, who has such a bad reputation.
Prince Luc sure plays the bad boy persona well. He has some secrets up his sleeve as to his true personality, but he pushes those down for the sake of the monarchy and his country. When he wakes up and sees Emily in his hotel room, he is almost immediately intrigued by her. Through the fog of a hangover he manages to forget her name, and suggest some action. What a first impression; but Emily expected it anyways.
As Emily gets to know Luc throughout finding him a royal bride, she starts to unravel his puzzle. It also makes her want him all the more, but she isn't royal and thus doesn't qualify as a potential anything to Luc. Luc begins to fall for Emily because for the first time it seems someone truly cares enough to look past his outward persona and see who he is beneath it all. However, Emily won't allow herself to be as attached to any man as her mother was when Emily's Dad left them, so she fights her feelings.
I'm not one who likes romances with immediate attraction. It just always seems unreal to me. The story also seemed to go too fast. It lacked humor which I am drawn to with almost any genre of book. I wish I had liked this more, as I am looking for contemporary romance books that give me the same good vibes as a Rom Com movie. I will have to keep trying.

This is quite a sweet book that is very clean with just some sexual innuendo and a little kissing.
Emily works hard to get where she wants and currently she wants to be named as a partner. But that title has so far eluded her no matter how hard she tries.
Prince Luc is the youngest son who has also been named as the trouble maker and scapegoat. He is resigned to his reputation, but must marry or lose the money he needs for his foundation.
Both have had hardship in their lives and find themselves inexplicitly drawn to each other right from the beginning.
Its a heartwarming cinderella story re-woven with the required HEA.
