This was quite the surprise of a book! Super spicy 🔥 and intense! Whisked Away handles several difficult topics, so definitely check trigger warnings before reading. The bók focuses on Princess Reiyana and her journey not only toward love, but toward knowing herself and being true to herself.

Thank you to NetGalley, the author Enola M. Douglas, and Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op for the opportunity to read this ARC.

While I ultimately chose not to finish Whisked Away (DNF), I was impressed by the lush world-building and elegant prose in the early chapters.

The book explores Omegaverse dynamics and a central polyamorous relationship (a princess Omega and two Alpha half-brothers), which are tropes that don’t align with my personal preferences.

My 3-star rating reflects the strong writing and immersive atmosphere, even though the story wasn’t the right fit for me.

I wish the author and publishing team all the best and truly believe this book will resonate with readers who enjoy emotionally intense fantasy romance and Omegaverse themes.

This was a super cool journey into an Omegaverse I’ve not really read before. Pure fantasy at its roots, a kingdom’s princess kings for freedom and thinks she’s running way with her true love. He’s manipulated her and is really kidnapping her, for a purpose we don’t know. Luckily she escapes and goes on a somewhat epic journey across the lands to try to return home, along the way falling in love with two brothers that are also princes. It was a very well thought out world. While some chapters do seem to have drastic jumps in time in them, you quickly get over them and get back into the story.

My oh my oh my 😮‍💨🔥 you should’ve seen the texts between me and my bestie...I spammed her with every gasp, every scream, every "OMG THEY DID WHAT?" moment 😭💬

The chemistry?? Off. The. Freaking. Charts. Like someone bring me a fan, I’m still overheating from Kaelendrin and Alarik’s every look, every move, every stolen moment 😵‍💫❤️‍🔥I’ve read loads of omegaverse manhwa and manhua...but this?? This was my first time diving into a full-length novel in the genre, and let me tell you…I WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED. It gave me royalty, betrayal, tension, desire, and a fiercely independent heroine who just wants her own story 😭👑

Reiyana’s transformation from a hopeful Beta dreaming of adventure to an Omega fighting for her freedom? ICONIC. Her struggle, her longing, her strength...ugh!!, I adored her so much 🥹 And those two half-brothers? Let’s just say…I wouldn’t mind being caught in that kind of crossfire 😏💘

The world-building is ✨chef’s kiss✨...the Nine Kingdoms, the tournament, the power dynamics, and all the twisty secrets? So addictive 😮‍💨 You’ll turn one page and suddenly it’s 3AM. No regrets.

This story is soft in the right places, sexy when it needs to be, and filled with heart-pounding moments that will leave you screaming, swooning, and simping all at once 💋🔥💥

Whisked Away – Enola M. Douglas

First things first !!! please read the trigger warnings !!! before diving into this book. It touches on some intense and heavy things that could catch you off guard if you’re not prepared. This is an Alpha/Omega/Beta story with reverse harem dynamics and more, so just know what you’re getting into before you start.

We follow Reiyana, who’s on the edge of a major life change. She’s always known her future. Marry her childhood friend Castiel, a Beta, and live the life that’s been planned for her since she was young. What no one expected, herself included, was that she would bloom into an Omega later than most. In her world, Omegas are rare, powerful, and expected to marry Alphas in order to preserve the strength of their bloodline and leadership in the kingdom of Aethonia.

Everything changes when a tournament is held to determine who will win Reiyana’s hand in marriage. Two half-brothers, Kaelin and Alarik from the rival Asadian kingdom, show up out of nowhere and decide to enter for fun, for adventure, maybe even curiosity. But they win. And rumors swirl that the two of them form a pack… which doesn’t sit well with Reiyana at all.

Now she has a choice: run away with Castiel to escape the burden of her new status and the fate expected of her or fulfill her duty as an Omega and face what’s being asked of her. But of course, there’s so much more going on beneath the surface. Betrayals, secrets, and a deeper fight for power that she never saw coming.

This genre isn’t usually my go-to when it comes to fantasy, so I was already feeling a little unsure going in especially after reading the author’s note and all the trigger warnings. I was honestly nervous it would be heavy on the spice and light on the plot. But the beginning pulled me in fast, and to my surprise, the world-building and the story actually had real depth. The author clearly put time and thought into this world and the characters within it.

I’ve read stories with similar warnings where the focus is more on the shock value or smut than the actual plot but that wasn’t the case here. There’s real story here. Reiyana faces both internal and external struggles, and the plot actually matters. For this sub-genre, I think it was really well done.

Now, I will say the biggest “ick” for me personally was the frequent use of the term “Alpha”, especially during the more intimate moments. It kind of pulled me out of the scene and made it feel cringey at times. I know some readers love that or don’t mind it, but it wasn’t for me and made me want to look away. Still, I know others might enjoy that element more than I did.

Overall, though? I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed the story, especially for a genre I don’t usually gravitate toward.

Thank you so much to NetGalley, Victory Editing NetGalley Co-Op, and Enola M. Douglas for the chance to read this early release. I’m incredibly excited to see what the next book brings!

Whisked Away offers an intriguing mix of fantasy, romance, and omegaverse dynamics, with a premise that immediately hooks: a princess who suddenly presents as an Omega and becomes a pawn in a high-stakes royal tournament. Enola Douglas sets the stage for a world full of political tension, forbidden desire, and dangerous power plays—and there's definitely a lot to love here.

Reiyana is a compelling lead—strong-willed, emotionally conflicted, and determined to reclaim her agency. The dynamic between her and the two Alpha half-brothers, Kaelendrin and Alarik, brings the right amount of romantic tension and internal struggle. The love triangle adds intensity without feeling shallow, and there are moments of real emotional depth and chemistry.

That said, the book didn’t quite deliver on its full potential for me. The pacing lagged in places, particularly in the second half, and some of the world-building felt underdeveloped. I also wanted more nuance from the side characters and a deeper exploration of the political stakes that were hinted at early on. The omegaverse elements were intriguing, but at times felt more like background flavor than fully integrated world logic.

Still, it’s an enjoyable read with strong themes of autonomy and self-discovery, especially for fans of romantic fantasy. The emotional beats land, the stakes are personal, and the writing has a lyrical quality that makes it easy to get swept up in the story—even when the execution feels uneven.

I DNFd this book around 75% because I started skimming. The writing isn't terrible. I think it's just not for me. I found it slow or boring. There just didn't feel like there was a lot of depth to the plot or characters, but also maybe you could categorize that as easy. So if you're looking for you know, an easy fantasy omegaverse that you can just vibe with, you might like this one. But I was starting to feel frustrated that everything just felt so convenient and slow. But I'm glad other people are enjoying it.

4.5 ⭐️

This was such a good surprise for me and I loved it! I always thought omegaverse and polyamorous romances weren’t my thing, but this book proved me otherwise.
It was well written and well balanced between romance and plot, and the political intrigue kept me on edge throughout the book.
We have a multiple POV and the romance dynamics gave me all the feels! I also loved Reiya’s journey overall, her finding her own self and freedom through love when she always thought it would enslave her.
The ending left me wanting more though, and I was not ready to say goodbye to our characters yet, especially with that hinting at the end of the epilogue.

Huge thanks to NetGalley and Victory Editing for the ARC!!!

3.75 STARS!

For anyone who has yet to dip their toes into an Omegaverse, but is a fan of fantasy romance stories, this would be a great entrance into the genre. There are a lot more elements of plot and slow burn than you would find in most Omegaverse stories (or at least the ones I've read). I think the author did a great job with the world building throughout the story and many of the descriptions of people and places were detailed and beautifully written. Made it very easy to imagine the scenes throughout.

With only 2 MMC's, it also was not overwhelming and the relationships were given more opportunity to shine through. There were also some great elements with found family, political maneuvering, and the FMC coming into her own. Some of the things that might have prevented a higher rating for me include pacing issues, unsatisfactory ending (don't feel I know enough about the why), and sometimes the stakes not feeling high enough in relation to the story.

Still would definitely recommend and I will for sure be continuing with the next book when it's available!

Thank you to NetGalley, Victory Editing, and Enola M. Douglas for an eARC in exchange for my honest review.

“The best stories don’t have endings. They grow. They change. And everyone involved gets to write them”. - Kaelen

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I received this book as an Arc from NetGalley and Victory Editing.

Whisked Away is my first foray into an Omegaverse. Basically a world where there is a genetic hierarchy (Alpha, Beta and Omega). And even a sub-hierarchy within the Alpha category of SunBorn or Moonfire Alphas being at the top of the tier. In the Whisked Away world, Omegas are very rare and it’s only through an Alpha and Omega pair that a Sunborn or Moonfire alpha can be conceived, therefore not only making Omega’s rare but in high demand. So much so, there is even a black market for Omega’s.

Our main FMC Princess Reiyana is a late blooming Omega. We meet our MMC’s Prince Kaelandrin and Prince Alarik when they decide to compete in a tournament to showcase their Alpha status for Princess Reiyana’s eventual choosing of an Alpha husband.

But fearing being considered property and losing her autonomy, our FMC makes a series of decisions that leads her on a path of self-discovery that challenges her royal upbringing as well as her prejudices, allowing for the Princes’ to prove themselves. Through the book, the biggest repetitive theme is freedom.

This is where I took a star off. I personally love a strong and smart FMC. Both are qualities Princess Reiyana possesses until she keeps putting herself in ridiculous situations that she is not equipped to handle…all in the name of feeling free. There is freedom in intelligence and as women, we know when we need to be smart for self-preservation but Princess Reiyana continuously goes off alone knowing she’s being hunted for a large sum, being followed and watched while also being constantly surrounded by not so friendly Alphas with little ability to protect herself.

The banter and ease of the Princess and her two Princes was fun. The spice literally had me blushing it was so good. The author did a wonderful job creating distinct personalities of the main characters. I loved the supporting characters of this book as well. The book carried itself easily and gave a clear picture of the societies politics and strife within the nine kingdoms of this fantasy world. Setting us up for the second book in this series.

I really enjoyed this book and am looking forward to continuing the series.

Tropes you’ll find in this book:

Slow Burn
Why Choose
Found Family
Multiple POV
MFM
Omegaverse

I was privileged to receive an ARC for this book and these are my honest thoughts and opinions.

I really enjoyed this story, set in an Omega verse with Alphas, Betas and Omegas. As Princess Reiyana comes into her awakening as an Omega, everything she's ever been told about her role has her fearing the unknown and she's torn between duty and the desire for her freedom. She meets Alpha princes Kaelen and Alarik, brothers who've made a pact to share one Omega. She makes a choice which irrevocably changes her life and sets her on a path of discovery as she overcomes obstacles, fights against dangers and learns new skills as she changes from the naive princess to a confident and capable Omega who fully embraces her future with both her mates.

This is a why choose story and I must say, the moments of shared desire have been written so beautifully with the tenderness, the love, the lust and the animalistic urges. It was hot, but in a sensual way, not vulgar at all, so natural like it was always meant to be for them all. The differences between the two brothers is like day and night. The sun and the moon. With Reniya between them, they create the perfect blend, two halves of a whole.

I liked how the romance aspect wasn't the full focus of the story though. As the journey continued, new places came to life with the vivid descriptions of the sights, sounds and smells. There was also plenty of political drama within the kingdom, rife with dark secrets and betrayals.

I look forward to continuing this series and can't wait for book 2.

When I first saw a description of this book, I immediately added it to my TBR. This was months before I joined NetGalley and started leaning into review writing. Being accepted to review it as an ARC was an unexpected joy. And after completing it, I have to say reading it was worth all of the anticipation.

Whisked Away is my first foray into the Omegaverse, and it absolutely delivered. The story revolves around Reiyana, the newly-awakened Omega princess of Aethonia, one of the nine kingdoms of Issoirea. She despises the caste system in place in the world that now renders her future desires moot. Alphas are invited to a contest to prove their worth, at the end of which, she is to declare one of them her future husband. Her now-abandoned relationship with a Beta male, Castiel, grates, and she refuses to see any Alpha as anything but what she's known them to be her entire life: cruel, unrelenting, and violent men who do not care for the safety or choices an Omega may long for. When half-brother Alpha princes, Kaelendrin and Alarik, win the competition on a lark, everything changes. Reiya is almost immediately forced to confront the future she's wanted and the reality she's been given, and nothing of the world is what it seems.

I greatly enjoyed this one! While some elements that I've heard of in the Omegaverse aren't quite to my liking, this was a great introduction, as it reads like a standard romantasy with a sweeping backstory and intricate worldbuilding. It's clear there's so much more to unravel in the series, and I am very eager to discover what's coming next.

So many thanks to NetGalley and the Victory Editing NetGalley Co-Op for providing me with a digital ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review!

First of, Love the book cover! Love the details and royal look of it. Really good representation of the story and its feel.
The story itself is really well thought of. You can see that a lot of time was put into making sure all the threads tied together and that everything had an explanation and background. The characters are intricate and whilst the main characters relationship (Reyana, Alaric and Kaelen) are the main focus of the story, their Royal duties and the burden they carry are just as important, along with the ongoing issue brewing in the shadows. The ending did catch me off guard. I am not very sure if it was just a me issue but I don't think the "boss fight" was what I was expecting/I was hoping for. But that being said, this is the first book of the series so who knows, maybe we are keeping the bigger fights for later
Just a warning, there is double penetration, so just be aware of that. But the spicy scenes can be skipped if you don't feel comfortable with them, they are not a big percentage of the book.

This is the first book in the Jewels of the Nine Kingdoms, a series of interconnected standalones. This is an omegaverse (alpha/beta/omega) romance, without shifters, set in a fantasy world. I received an advance review copy and my thoughts are my own. Thank you to the author and R&R Books for my eArc.

Tropes and themes include:
✨ Why choose (mfm)
✨ Royalty & court intrigue
✨ Slowburn
✨ He falls first
✨ Found family
✨ She saves herself
✨ Unique desert inspired world
✨ Forced proximity
✨ Feminine rage
✨ Heats and bonds

Rating: 4/5 Stars 3/5 Flames

The Lovely: I wasn’t sure what to expect with an omegaverse romance set in a fantasy world but I loved it! This had the emotionally charged, protective but caring alphas I associate with a great omegaverse but set in a lush and beautiful epic fantasy world. The world building is exquisite - from the coast kingdom all the way to the desert. This pulls and immerses you in the gorgeous settings.

The Mundane: For as long and action packed as this book is, the ending to me felt a bit anti-climatic. Or maybe “too easy” is a better way to describe it. The ending felt too short and rushed for the story that preceded that point.

Recommendation: So I read a lot of omegaverse, and a lot of romantasy. But this is the first time I’ve read a mash-up of the two - and it was fantastic. If you’re a romantasy reader looking to dip your toe into omegaverse, this book would be the perfect place to start.

*:✿˚⋆ SPOILER FREE REVIEW *:✿˚⋆

I won’t lie, I had a hard time rating this book. There are few things — which I will mention below — that are the cause for this struggle. Summary: I was entertained for most of the book, but this is not a book that I completely fell in love with. If you are looking for something to dip your toe in omegaverse, this would be for you. It’s light, easy to read, and has a few moments to gush over. However, if you are looking for something a bit more fantasy-heavy and deep, this might not be it.

To start, I really liked the FMC. I always like a strong headed, independent FMC with her own values and opinions. I really liked that she’s someone who purposely does not fit the mold. The MMCs were also very likable, easy to get attached to and root for. The side characters were few, but likeable as well. like like like like like

I would say my main struggle was with the plot. I think the main storyline is interesting and has a lot of potential, but the delivery might not have been the best. I say this because, from beginning to end, I had a hard time staying fully engrossed in the book as there were quite a few dragging sections with little plot advancement, and the events were scarce and less captivating. In these moments I knew what my rating and review would look like, but then the plot would pick back up, the event would become interesting again and I would become fully immersed just to hit a plateau once more. This went on for a large portion of the book. Reading as much as I do, I know that it is very common for books to have slower parts since it can’t always be GO GO GO, but in those down times, I expect the book to still capture my attention if only at a lower level. In this case though, my interest level would either be at its peak or at its lowest with no real in-between.

Another factor that had me struggling to rate this book were the few plot holes that I couldn’t see the reasoning for. They were not major and can easily be ignored, but it did bother me that I could not make sense of them.

Lastly, I just wished that there would have been a bit more world building and details on how the world and its occupants function. I feel like we were thrown into the story with a small amount of detail on the nature of the omegaverse. As there are a lot of different ways an omegaverse can be constructed, I just wished we had a more of an idea on the structure of this world when starting the book. I also felt like the story lacked a bit of depth and felt more surface level — however, it could be simply because it’s the first book of the series.

All of this said, I did enjoy the book and would recommend reading it, especially if you are new to omega-verses, and I think the story itself is very promising. I’m genuinely interested to see how it will unfold, and I just hope we can get a bit deeper in the next book.

Sometimes books just sound too good. I actually have to request fewer review copies, but when I came across this book on Netgalley I just couldn't help myself. The author granted me one and after the initial shock, since this is quite a big book, I started reading.

Although this is quite a big book I was intrigued from start to finish. I was always looking forward to continuing reading. I was always curious what was gonna happen next. It's quite a commitment to start this book, but it's absolutely worth it. The pacing also feels quite natural. I wouldn't have wanted the book to be faster. I for sure wouldn't have wanted the author to rush things more. After all, especially the heroine has quite some growing to do and that simply takes time.

I also loved how this book was written in such a way that we got to see quite a lot from the world it's taking place in. The world is a lot bigger and I'm already curious about the kingdoms we haven't heard or seen anything of. However, I never felt lost, I never felt overwhelmed. The author painted clear and beautiful pictures of the kingdoms we do get to see. I like how they each have their own custom and culture and how there are so many people with their own dreams and wishes inhabiting them.

The true stars of the story were the characters, though. The heroine grows a lot throughout the story. Although the circumstances are forcing her to grow and learn, it does feel natural and realistic. I also loved the connection between her and her alphas. Their dynamic was touching, respective and also developed naturally. All three of them were also layered and complicated. Most of all they were all easy to like and root for. I can't wait to read the next book in the series!

3.5/5 stars, rounded up to 4

this was my first ever not only omegaverse, but also why choose/poly book i've read

while i'm not sure if why choose is for me, i'm really happy this was my first experience with it.
the world building was incredibly detailed and intricate - you could SEE the amount of effort and thought that had gone into each and every bit the author had added.
i appreciated how the poly aspect was introduced - gradual, respectful, and left to the FMC to decide.
that being said, i did have a hard time in continuing to pick up the book/stay engaged with it, but i enjoyed the writing and world building enough to continue

i'm excited to read whatever book comes next in this series!
also: i looooove the cover on this

thank you so much netgalley for the arc!

I love books where the main character has to take a journey because it allows the author to really build and unfold this amazing world and characters along the way and Enola M Douglas certainly does that in Whisked Away.

This is a pretty fast paced, omegaverse fantasy that had me hooked from the beginning. It’s a THICK book~nearly 700 pages and middle slowed a bit but the last 1/3 of the book had me staying up way too late to finish the story and now I’ll be waiting for book two. The writing style is easy to follow along with, enjoyable and will be a popular read for those who enjoy romantasy books!

I will start with thanking Net Galley and the author that provided me with this ARC ! I first saw about Whisked Away on author´s instagram page and I was very intrigued.. Whisked Away is a romantasy book that combines romance with omegaverse elements.I think that was and one of the things I liked most , because it wasn´t your typically fantasy book. The world building was involving the whole time and we had the chance to discover new things and places (We will see more in the next book) , I found very interesting the social hierarchy of the book and how well it was introduced to us without slowing the pace of the book.I also liked the whole religion thing and the different cultures we discovered through ceremonies, trips or even clothing! As for the romance, when you hear about an omegaverse book, your mind instantly thinks about insta-lust but that was not it. The author achieved through her writing such a perfect slow-burn, we understood how the bond between the two mmcs works and how our fmc goes through a self discovery journey. The relationship between the three was so precious each one of them found a part of them in this bond. Additionaly, I found this very suitable for polyamory romance beginners because the author explained with a beautiful way how the brothers and the fmc complete each other and her! As for the plot I would say it´s very politcs based and an mystery is going on , I won´t say something more cause I don´t want to spoil anything. And something I couldn´t forget is the found family trope it was so sweet, their moments together made such a cozy atmosphere.

I was absolutely blown away by this book. From cover to cover, this book had me hooked.

The characters were so unique and their character traits really helped to bring the story to life. With the stark contrast between Prince Alarik and Prince Kaelen, it really pulled the story to life. I really loved the way the author described them in such detail, but in a way that leaves readers curious and wanting to find out more about these princes. I find that the author did such a wonderful job at highlighting each brother's strengths: light and dark. Both can be beautiful in their own way.

Now the character development of Princess Reiyana was also something that pulled me deeper and deeper into the story. I loved how we can easily see how her character and self-development has progressed with each passing chapter. It was wonderful to see how she didn't take things for granted and tried to see the beauty in the small things - from being able to help sell small trinkets at the market to learning how to cook. I thought that during these moments of growth, that it was so beautifully written. I thoroughly enjoyed reading her growing more and more into her self.

The plot was also very unique - with the background information of what Omega, Alpha, and Beta's are, it really made for a compelling and interesting story filled with mystery and adventure. The pace was absolutely enjoyable as it did not leave me feeling bored at all. I felt like my curiosity was satisfied the more I read.

Overall, this was such a wonderful book and I am so glad that I got the opportunity to enjoy it!
