Thank you to Enola M. Douglas and NetGalley for the ARC of Whisked Away!

This book is a beautifully immersive omegaverse, why-choose romantasy filled with rich world building & slow burn relationships.

Reiyana completely stole the show for me as the FMC. She’s easy to root for & I loved watching her navigate the dynamics of her world and relationships.

That said, I personally think the pacing could’ve been a bit tighter, the middle dragged a little, and I found myself wishing for a bit more suspense or momentum at times. Still, the writing style and depth of the world more than made up for it.

Looking forward to more from this author!

Overall 3.5/5

-I probably should have read the list of tropes before reading this book. I’d thought this was more of a love triangle kind of book but it was why choose. And I don’t particularly like that trope. But at first, it was alright to overlook it. The plot of the princess escaping and then the princes trying to find her when she falls into a trap really feels like Disney movie. But make this one for adults. The world is interesting but since I’d never really been part of the omega verse fandom, I think there are a lot of things I don’t get.

-The characters were alright, at first. I started having problems when Reiya started wanting both of the princes. Kaelen and Alarik were weird. I got the thing about there not being very many omegas for loads of alphas but they were always speaking of themselves as a pair. It was always "us" or "them" when Reiya was speaking so it kind of felt like they weren’t actually separate individuals. Then they started loving each other kind of suddenly and it just wasn’t for me.

-The ending was kind of forgettable. They got together, great. There is still a villain out there for potential for sequels. Now as for if I will read more, I was leaning towards a no, but then I saw that the sequel will follow different characters without the why choose romance so perhaps I would enjoy that more, and appreciate the world created around more.

I was drawn to this book because of its advertisement as a why-choose omegaverse romantasy. I enjoyed the world building and the politics that started to be delved into in the beginning of the book. I also liked the love interests.

The book had a lot going for it, but I had issues with the writing style. Many things were over explained instead of allowing the reader to infer. For example, a skeptical look is followed by explaining how the character was wary. It got to the point where I had to stop reading at 20%. The over explanations were getting in the way of the plot moving forward.

Overall, this book had a good premise and promising plot. With some refinement in the writing, it could be very good!

I always love fantasy books where the main character goes on a journey throughout the land because you get to see great world building that way. This book does that! The world building was so much fun. There’s even the sweetest found family too! I really hope we get to see all those characters again in future books.
This is a why choose omegaverse so you know the spice was spicing. I love all 3 main characters and the way they slowly formed their bond. The way choice and consent was always involved. The brotherly bond was also really sweet. I wouldn’t be able to choose between Kaelen and Alarik either. I loved them.
This book had a lot more to it though. The FMC had a lot of character growth and I enjoyed her journey. There’s lots of political and power struggles. It was a really great introduction into this world the author is building and I can’t wait to see more of it in the next book.

If these tropes interest you then I’d def recommend this one!

I gave Whisked Away by Enola M. Douglas 4 stars. This was a great book with a really strong story and atmosphere. The world building was fantastic, and I loved how immersive and vivid it all felt. The romance and spice were a highlight too—they added just the right amount of tension and excitement to the story. There is quite a bit of spice towards the end, but I thought it was well placed.

What stood out to me most was how the author built up the main female character’s personal development. Watching her grow and evolve throughout the book was really satisfying and added an extra layer of depth to the story. I did feel, however, that it got a bit repetitive at times, particularly with the main character’s thoughts. There were moments where it felt like we were circling back to the same ideas a bit too often, which slowed the pace down for me. The relationships built between the characters in this story were also strong and meaningful, they helped make the book an enjoyable and heartwarming read.

With everything considered, I really enjoyed this book overall and would recommend it to anyone who loves a good mix of adventure, romance, and a little bit of heat!

3.5 ⭐️

ARC read! The very first thing that caught my eye about this book is the cover artwork. It’s literally stunning. I can’t get over how pretty it is.

This is a MFM/why choose/omegaverse romance. I will say this is the first omegaverse romance book I’ve ever read and while I’m not sure it’s totally my style, I won’t yuck anybody’s yum and say don’t read this. Overall, I think it was an interesting book with lots of great moments and I definitely enjoyed it.

I thought the plot was interesting and engaging. I think it started off really strong with a lot of action and excitement but as time went on the suspense dwindled a little bit for me. Especially towards the end as we fell into more of a royalty/political setting. Although some of the political stuff felt drawn out and slightly boring at times, it also felt very immersive into the world of court dynamics. If you’re a lover of princesses and princes and a fight for power and justice this is a good book for you.

The overall theme of found family was well done. I loved so many characters in this book that were part of the FMCs new found family.

While some of the omegaverse stuff is not totally my style, the romance aspect itself did actually pull through for me. I love some loyal and devoted MMCs. And the spice was spicyyy. lol I read a good chunk of this book on an airplane and let me tell you there were a few times I had to shrink my font size very tiny because I didn’t want people around me snooping at what I was reading. 😂 There are about 4 different “spicy” scenes in this book just for reference.

One of my biggest complaints about this book is that after the initial action that jumpstarted the main conflict, the stakes never felt super high again. I think the nature of having two big strong MMCs who would do anything to protect their princess means I was never really worried anything bad would really happen to her once they showed up. Which is sweet from a romance side, but from a fantasy side it lacked some suspense.

All of that aside, I did actually really enjoy this book and I’m so glad I was able to receive an ARC copy!

My thoughts:

It has been a while since I last read an omegaverse book, and this one was the perfect choice to draw me back into the genre! While it included some traditional elements of omegaverse—like a female main character who reveals herself late, the looming presence of a heat, and the need to find alphas—it also offered something quite different from any other books I've read. Omegaverse is often seen as just spice, but this book is much more than that. It features a clear, well-defined plot, deeply developed characters, and a richly fleshed-out world. The romance is a slow burn, which is quite rare for this genre. It felt genuine rather than just lust, showcasing real connections between the characters.

I also want to highlight the amazing world the author created. The story is set in nine kingdoms, each with its unique climate and culture, vividly depicted throughout the narrative. The author's writing style and descriptions significantly enhance the story and help it stand out. I truly felt as if I were right there with Reiya, experiencing the world for the first time!

Lastly, you might wonder why I didn’t give it 5 stars. While the beginning hooked me immediately, I started to lose interest towards the middle and end. The only thing really driving the plot forward was the impending heat. Although Castiel was meant to create suspense, his ending felt very underwhelming. There were no surprising reveals that made me gasp; in fact, I saw the ending coming from a mile away.

Overall, this book is perfect for fans of omegaverse and romantasy!

I am starting this by saying I am neither a omegaverse or why choose girlie - they’ve never really gripped me in the past, but I didn’t have anything against them. I picked this up and WOW am I happy I did. This book was such a gripping, politically thrilling, romantic ride. I loved every character, and the writing was phenomenal. Highly recommend this one and can’t wait to see what comes next from this author!

A beautifully layered why-choose romance set within a richly imagined omegaverse world. This book is so much more than its genre promises. Yes, it’s steamy and swoon-worthy, but it’s also tender, thoughtful, and surprisingly profound.

At its heart, Whisked Away is a story about connection—about learning to trust, to grow, and to choose love, even when the world tells you it shouldn’t exist in the way you want it to. The love story that unfolds between both princes and the princess is not only emotionally fulfilling, but deeply respectful. Their bond is rooted in shared understanding, vulnerability, and mutual healing, which makes their connection all the more moving. It’s a true triad of equals—each dynamic feels important and whole on its own, yet even stronger when together.

Douglas has a gift for embedding deeper meanings in her prose. Certain phrases and quiet moments are rich with emotional weight—whether it’s about identity, agency, or simply the courage to let someone see your most unguarded self. The characters evolve in meaningful ways, shaped by one another but never diminished. Watching each of them grow—individually and as a unit—is incredibly satisfying.

The bond between the two brothers is another highlight. Their loyalty and shared history add a compelling foundation to the story’s emotional stakes. Rather than jealousy or rivalry, their relationship is built on a deep love and protectiveness that only enhances the overall romance.

Whisked Away is everything you want in an omegaverse polyam romance—passionate, intense, emotionally charged—but it’s also unexpectedly thoughtful and tender. It’s a book about choice, love without limitations, and the power of unity in the face of expectation. A standout indie gem that deserves all the praise it’s sure to receive.

ARC Review: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This book does travel right!! Traveling, was done so incredibly well that it might be my favorite part!

Beautifully crafted characters with descriptive world building. The political and social expectations warring with the wants/needs of the individual. Forming these complex relationships that melded and clashed in fantastic ways.

The dark themes threaded so delicately through the storyline added such a nice edge to the story. A true threat under all the pretty words. I also liked the balance of lightheartedness this story brings.

This omegaverse rich in culture and multiple kingdoms has run into a common worldwide issue - a society trained to accept the exploitation of specific childbearing women.

Thank you NetGalley and Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op for this ARC!

I love that omega/alpha tropes are spreading into mainstream media and books. I loved this, it is so reminiscent of some of my favorite fanfics. The plot was great, and the characters were so fun to follow.

📚✨ ARC Review: Whisked Away by Enola Douglas ✨👑

I just finished Whisked Away and I am NOT okay 😭🔥👑 This book? Had me feral.

🌕 Omegaverse? Check.
🗡️ Royal intrigue? Check.
💘 Why-choose romance with two HOT princes? DOUBLE CHECK.

Princess Reiyana thought she was just a Beta dreaming of freedom and adventure, but then—BAM 💥—Omega awakening at age 20?! Her life flips faster than you can say “royal tournament” 👑💔

Enter Prince Kaelendrin (brooding Alpha with a hidden softness 🖤) and Prince Alarik (charming, dangerous, and SO not safe for your sanity ❤️‍🔥). Together? They crack Reiyana open in ways she never saw coming. And YES, it’s slow burn—DELICIOUSLY slow 🔥👀

What I loved:
💎 Complex worldbuilding without info-dumping
🧠 A smart, defiant heroine you’ll want to scream for
🤯 Twists that hit harder than betrayal in a court full of secrets
💋 Tension so thick it could slice through your soul

⚠️ But fair warning: this book does not play safe. There’s emotional intensity, deep power dynamics, and themes of autonomy vs. control that hit HARD. And that cliffhanger?? I’m on the floor. Literally. 🫠

“Whisked Away” is a sexy, romantasy that integrates A/B/O into its story flawlessly. I will admit, I was a bit hesitant to read this as the two alphas in this story are brothers and the story includes a M/M/F dynamic. However! It is important to note that there are no elements of *that* and that no romance occurs between the males, it is purely two alphas and one omega. I enjoyed the character development and plenty of spice. The writing was also done beautifully! The only reason I did not give this a perfect 5/5 was because of me starting to lose interest in the first half when the FMC starts to learn independence (if you know, you know). I completely understand that it was vital for her own character development, but it was a bit prolonged for my own attention span.

Overall, this was an enjoyable read with a FMC who is easy to love. The two MMCs were very interesting and I loved seeing their relationships develop with FMC over the course of this book, and very organically at that! I look forward to any future books from this series :)

Thank you to NetGalley, Enola M. Douglas, and Victory Editing for the eARC!

Thank you to Enola M. Douglas, NetGalley and Victory Editing for sending me an ARC.

Overall I really enjoyed this, I think Princesses / Prince stories tend to be quite similar. However I liked the twists in this and it felt refreshing.

It’s very detailed on scene setting, too much imo and wordy. It definitely could have been shorter. I thought Reiya was a good MFC but naive at times and I couldn’t understand a few of her decisions. I loved Reiya’s relationship with the family & throughly enjoyed those chapters! Already looking forward to the next book.

Whisked Away completely pulled me in with its mix of romance, court intrigue, and high-stakes fantasy. Princess Reiyana’s transformation from a sheltered Beta to a defiant Omega trying to reclaim her freedom is compelling, and I loved watching her challenge everything she’d been taught to believe. The worldbuilding is lush and immersive, and the tension—both political and romantic—had me flipping pages way too late at night.
Kaelendrin and Alarik are both swoony in their own ways, and the slow-burn why-choose romance was chef’s kiss. There’s real emotional depth behind the attraction, and Reiyana’s journey feels personal and powerful. My only gripe is that I need book two now. If you’re into omegaverse romantasy with layered characters, power struggles, and slow-building heat, this one’s absolutely worth diving into.

When Pricess Reiya presents as an Omega at twenty years old, her entire life is turned upside down. She is suddenly a sought-after commodity for any noble-born Alpha in the Nine Kingdoms. When she tries to flee her fate in an arranged marriage, she finds herself in an even worse -and far more dangerous - situation.

Two charming Alpha princes take on the challenge of finding Reiya after they win a tournament for her hand in marriage. Will they be able to protect her from those with nefarious intentions?

Whisked Away is set in an Omegaverse. There is significant MFM open-door spice, power dynamics, mention of sexual assault. Thr MMCs are half brothers and there is no M/M spice.

First things first, I LOVE THIS STORY.

This book is honestly beautiful. The story telling is lovely from the first page and continues throughout. Reiya's story is unique and had me sprinting through this book to find out what happens. The twists are shocking and the plot is mysterious.

The author has developed a really complex political structure that I can't wait to learn more about in future installments of the series. There is a little bit of magic mentioned, and I'm interested to see how this is developed in later books. The characters are deep and multi-dimensional, with each side character contributing to the overall story arc.

I legitimately can't wait to read the rest of this series. HIGHLY recommend.

One significant note: since this book is written in the third person, the POV headings are redundant. Personally, I hate multi-first person POV books, and seeing the POV headings almost made me not want to read it.

I actually really enjoyed this book and the characters within it but I did feel like it was very drawn out. You are kind of hit with a lot going on in the beginning of the book so it takes a bit to fully meet and understand everything and everyone but it was definitely fun. I did find that after the first part of the book it did become pretty slow with a lot of filler happening. I think I will definitely be reading the rest of the books in this series because they all follow different characters in each book.

Whisked Away is the first royal omegaverse I’ve read and I enjoyed this story so much! Our main heroine, Princess Reiyana presents at a late age for an omega and is immediately pressured into choosing an alpha to wed. She flees with the help of a childhood friend, but quickly realizes she doesn’t know who to trust when her short taste of freedom is betrayed. Meanwhile, princes Kaelendrin and Alarik are following to rescue the princess and win over her hand.

I was immediately drawn in to the story from the beautiful writing. Everything from the setting to the characters thoughts are described perfectly and helped to set the story. I also adored both princes and how supportive they were of Reiya throughout. Reiya is a strong heroine and goes through to much in this book while remaining kind and trusting.

I thought the romance developed at a perfect slowburn pace, but the book also managed to pack enough heat. The pining and tension were perfect and I couldn’t get enough! I also really liked how it wasn’t overly lust-focused until the characters developed a meaningful connection.

There is a bit of a cliffhanger at the end that left me gasping and wanting more! I’ll definitely be tuned in to see where this series goes!

Thank you to Netgalley and the author for the ARC in exchange for my review.
