I heard it said that you should be the love you are craving because most likely the people you come across are craving that love aswell. This book felt like that. It was about being kind and just holding space for others no matter what they are going through or our personal opinions on their lives. This book was encouraging to me because i believe that empathy and holding space for others changes peoples days/lives. All in all I’m here for this.
***BUT I was a big part of the church for a long time and I had a really bad experience with Christian’s specifically. So I do agree with this premise of loving others, holding space and empathy. I firmly believe compassion is the only way to live. I do not hold all of the religious views.
Thank you Matt Kahn and NetGalley for this book. I recieved a free copy of this book on exchange for my honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Author Matt Kahn has written this book in the hopes that it will help people in their relationships with others. He applies principles that he learned over time that have been beneficial to him. His book describes those principles and a little of how he learned them.
His narration is well done. His voice is calming without being boring. The book is divided into sections that go over the various principles that he espouses. Each section has a few chapters that add a little more to practicing those principles as it goes along.
I had a few issues with this book that I really am not gonna go into in this review. While I feel it was well written, I think the material itself is a little more broadly spiritual in nature than it needs to be.
3 1/2 stars is my rating. This book wasn’t for me, but it may be for you. My thanks to the author and publisher.

Not the kind I would normally read but it was just a big warm hug in my ears to listen to! I very much enjoyed it.

This was such a calming and soothing read. Perfect if you enjoy mantras, affirmations, and a gentle reminder to slow down. I listened to the audiobook, and the author did a great job narrating it himself.
I really liked the part about the ten attributes for holding space—things like encouragement, validation, patience, and forgiveness. It was a beautiful reminder to be kind to ourselves and others.
A peaceful, reflective read 💛
The author did the audiobook, so it was new for me and did so well!
