This was a sweet but predictable book! The writing was okay but the premise is calming and enchanting. Worth the read!

This story gets off to a slow start. The premise is an interesting one, but the storyline is slow going.

This was a outstanding tv movie like novel. I love the MCs and I was enchanted by the magic. Wouldn't it be great to see words scrolling out of everyday objects or appearing on peoples shirts helping you understand them? I love the romance of books and readers and our main characters. With a time clock hovering over them and a mystery to figure out/foes to vanquish, this was a charming novel.

This magical Romance Story comes to life in so many way's. Stella is trying to get over her x and starts written in her journal , see starts to seen these word's come to life as she goes by her day or while working in Blue Sky Valley Library. She keeps this to herself for a while so others don't think shes gone crazy. Some already know they just haven't talked to her face to face yet...

One afternoon Stella has to go back to the library after leaving her bag behind the counter., she hears laughter coming from downstairs so she goes to investigate.... She finds people that look like they are playing fancy dress ups they were an older gentleman, a lady and her son ( dressed like Peter Pan ) the young boy was on standing on the table when he jumped at her this magic dush fly behind him, Stella got such a fright she feel back and hit her head on a bookshelf... when she woke up they were gone ., she started to think she dream them BUT DID SHE???

" Stella rubbed her fingers back and forth across her collarbone as her heart beat erratically. "How can this kind of magic be real?" The idea of Book characters coming to life and walking around Blue Sky Valley seemed too fantastical.

My favorite quote from this book
"I would stamp you again and again to hold you in the sunlight so you could come back to me."

For some reason I just couldn’t get into this one, but more because of my vibes and less because of the book. I still wanted to finish it weird vibes aside, so I think this is going on my reread when the time is right list.

This was such a huge disappointment. I love the idea of meeting your favourite book boyfriend (or any fictional character, for that matter) and all the drama and heartbreak that would ensue, but I found this very lazy. Not only do they fall in love in a few days because she's had a crush on him forever and he's running out of time, but he's been watching her since she was a child. It's not written in a creepy way — he's actually pretty sweet — but that's the vibe I got while reading it. The writing style is quite simple and often very 'telling' rather than 'showing', listing things such as clothes and every single action.
Another thing I didn't like was the multiple HP references. It's 2025, jeez! We all know the author is transphobic and she doesn't need more platforms. At this point, I think there are far more and far better fantasy series to reference when talking about books.
I finished reading it because I was curious to see where it was going, but I was close to DNF it many times. I was disappointed by the whole magic system, which I would have expected to be more developed (although I loved the idea that she can see words around people or places, and the explanation behind it), and by the rushed and out-of-nowhere ending. This had SO much potential.

Words actually come to life in this quirky novel about overcoming heartbreak and how to let go of your past. Library employee and stage five clinger, Stella, is struggling to get over being dumped by someone named WADE. A sudden turn of events takes her on a fun and magical adventure of self discovery.

This was an especially fun read for me since I have a love for both writing and reading. The author does an amazing job turning words into sparkling visualizations. The only problem I had was Stella's brother glorifying a "life-changing" “three-figure salary”... I loved the sudden twists at the end! These blindsides made the whole story worth it and come together quite nicely.

I'm giving it a 2.75. But to be honest, I decided to put this book to the side for a while. The formatting of the ebook is a little off which hinders the reading experience. But as to the actual story, I was really intrigued. However, it is written at a very slow pace, with more lengthy monologues than necessary. I found too that she would start talking about different things that perhaps should have been placed elsewhere in the book and it would have been more gripping.

I found I couldn't get into it. I also found a discrepancy where the main character is talking about her ex leaving her apartment...but she lives in a house. I enjoyed the dialogue and that was what kept me going in the book. However, in the end, I just couldn't get into it. I think though this could be someone else's cup of tea and perhaps at a different stage, I will give it another go. But for now, its a DNF for me.

Imagine your biggest fictional crush coming to life… Imagine a world where words don’t just guide us—they lead us to our desires, protect us from our fears, and awaken our hopes.

In The Charmed Library, Jennifer Moorman opens a magical portal between fiction and reality, inviting readers to experience the wonder of stories like never before.

Stella Parker is a woman searching for meaning after a life marked by loss. She’s given up on love but finds comfort and strength in the pages of books. When she suddenly meets her favorite fictional character in real life, everything changes—and her world is turned upside down.

It was a such nice surprise!
Thanks NetGalley for the ARC copy ✨🌻

Have you ever read a book that felt like it was whispering right into your soul?

The Charmed Library is exactly that kind of book.

From the very first page, it sweeps you into a cozy, quietly magical world where words are alive, flitting around in the air, glowing with emotion, and carrying truths just waiting to be unlocked.

Stella Parker is stuck……in life, in heartbreak, and quite literally in her childhood bedroom. And while I’m a sucker for a good “returning to your roots” story, what really made this book sing for me was Stella’s deeply personal, beautifully written journey of self-discovery. Plus, magic library?? Yes please.

Stella can see words, not just on the page, but all around her. Floating. Whispering. Tingling with unfinished purpose.

This idea? Completely enchanting. If you’ve ever stared at a blank page hoping the words would come alive and guide you, this book says: what if they actually could?

Stella’s magic accidentally brings fictional characters into the real world, including a swoon-worthy soldier with soft eyes and old-school chivalry, and a surprise villain who is far too invested in their own plot. The mix of cozy and chaotic kept the story fresh, fun, and unpredictable.

There’s a sweet, low-key romantic thread that weaves throughout, but the heart of this book is really self-love and rediscovery. The love interest was lovely (no spoilers, but I cheered for Stella’s romantic choices), but her growth, stepping into her magic, embracing her past, forgiving herself, is what made this so satisfying.

The Charmed Library is a gentle, whimsical spell of a novel. It’s the kind of book that feels like wrapping up in a well-worn quilt with a mug of tea and your favourite notebook close by.

This is a love letter to the power of words, the bravery of starting again, and the magic waiting inside every book…..and every one of us.

The Charmed Library by Jennifer Moorman "I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own." I had a hard time getting through this book. It was an interesting story but I didn’t connect with the characters and it seemed to lag. I gave it 3 stars because of the idea of the story. To me this read more like YA than women’s fiction.

Set during a sweltering summer in North Carolina, this novel begins with a strong sense of place and a quiet, reflective tone. The main character, Stella, works in a local library, leading a mundane life without much ambition or spark—until the story takes a magical turn.

Without giving too much away, the plot shifts into something reminiscent of Night at the Museum, but set in a library. This whimsical twist adds a delightful sense of wonder, transforming the ordinary into the extraordinary. It's a charming concept that celebrates the hidden life of books and the magic of imagination.

However, the story does have its flaws. Stella isn’t the most likeable heroine—often passive and hard to connect with—and the narrative can feel disjointed at times, jumping between scenes while lingering too long on mundane library routines. The middle portion drags significantly, with repetitive descriptions and little momentum; it’s the kind of section some readers may feel tempted to skim.

Despite these issues, it remains a cosy read with an easy-to-follow plot and a gently magical tone. While Stella's character arc doesn’t quite deliver the emotional payoff it seems to aim for, the book offers a warm escape, especially for those who love libraries and a touch of enchantment in everyday life.

Stella has always been able to see the words, but after a recent bad break-up they have been getting more persistent. She knows change is needed but she takes to hiding behind her job as a librarian's assistant to avoid having to make any decisions. Then one day she finds something remarkable in the archives, and learns that the librarian has been keeping secrets. Suddenly adventure, magic and love are all within her grasp if she is brave enough to reach out and grab it.

This book read like a little piece of magic, as a reader and a writer, Stella's ability to see words felt almost familiar, because that is almost what if it feels like when a great idea hits. Stella was a girl torn between sense and sensibility, to attempt to be a writer or to go back to accounting which was souless but paid well. I found her endlessly relatable. Sometimes it just feels easier to stand still than to make a change.
The supporting characters were lovely and warm. Arnie, a second father and wonderful friend. Ariel the best friend who accepted all the chaos with love and aplom. Percy the overbearing, overprotective older brother who just wants what is best for his sister.
Jack is every ounce the hero. If their relationship was a little strange, it was pretty easy to get over the weird parts. The chemistry between Jack and Stella was palpable and I loved them together. Their romance was sweet and didn't feel rushed which it could have.
This book was fun, with a unique premise. There were enough twists and turns to be exciting, but was also a cozy read.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Another magical book by Moorman. A library comes alive with all kinds of characters.

Stella, is a librarian assistant who has gone through a painful breakup and she is feeling stuck.

She has a unique ability which adds to her life and the library is the perfect place as it comes alive magically. Her gift adds to her life and hopefully let her move forward.

I discovered this author last year with my bookclub and am working my way through her books. I have enjoyed all that I have read and she is an auto-buy for me.

3.5 ⭐️

I really loved the concept of this book. Fictional characters especially book boyfriends coming to life is any reader’s dream come true.

The Charmed Library was filled with whimsy and wonder, magic and so many amazing characters. Stella and her special abilities with words really made me all warm and fuzzy.

My only hiccup with the story was that the romance aspect felt very insta-love and rushed which normally isn’t really my thing and I felt the story would have benefited more as a slow burn.

I am writing this due to the fact I could not finish the book its not because I didn't like it. I absolutely loved what I could read. I have an eye condition where 25% of my vision in my left eye is blocked by a blood vessel growing in the wrong spot. When I request for your book I did not realize it was not going to be in kindle form. With kindle I can zoom the font up super big and can read comfortably but the way your book was sent to me it made it hard. I am so sorry I was unable to finish the book. But I will definitely get it if it comes out on kindle/audible. With what I did read I absolutely loved it. You have done a really good job with this book. I am going to give you 5 stars now cause I know I'm going to love it when it comes out. Again I am so sorry for not being able to finish your book. And thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to receive your ARC.

I received this book as an ARC on NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own. This book was just as the title suggests. It was utterly charming! This book was nothingime I have read in the past. It is reminscint of the movie Night at the Museum but with less chaos and more romance. The growth of the main character, Stella, was so well developed as the book went on that it made me cheer internally as she made new discoveries and choices for herself. Highly, highly recommend this if you are looking for a sweet book to help you escape.

This book started out as a hard read, but halfway through, it picked up, and the story didn't disappoint. In fact, it had some twists and turns I didn't see coming. A wonderful story of magic, learning your true self, standing up for what you believe, and true love. A definite read.

This book is a hit! The romance gives Hallmark vibes and the magical system was perfectly written. The fan-favorite characters coming to life was truly the highlight but the entire book was pure perfection!

I really enjoyed the charmed library and think it will be a hit once it is published. It was fantasy, a love of books, romance, and grief into a beautiful story laced with words. It took me a moment to get into the book, but once I had a firm grasp on what was happening, I really loved it. The ending was perfect.
