May this series go on forever! There seem to be potential murders everywhere, but so far just one body. The tricky thing is trying to figure out which baddy to pin it on. There are plenty of people missing. Are the ones that aren't hiding at Ibrahim's still alive? Or should they be added to the list of potential murderers? And why did it all have to start at Joanna's wedding? What a mess! Fortunately, Ibrahim's great brain is functioning at its peak especially with the help of his super smart juvenile guests. And Elizabeth is slowly emerging from her soul-sucking mourning. You know they'll work it out, but probably not the way you think!

The Thursday Murder Club is back in action and as endearing as ever. Will the group track down the secret cold storage unit and "liberate" the cryptocurrency code it protects in time to save the day?

After a friend of Joyce's son-in-law goes missing, the gang is on the case. Full of the kinds of twists and turns fans have come to know and love. I couldn't read this newest book fast enough!

Another funny, heart tugging, good time with the Thursday Murder Club!
I think this entry is the funniest one yet!! Books 2 and 4 made me cry, and this one made my heart a bit sore!
I appreciate the honoring, beauty, and realism of aging presented in the series. I dread the inevitable ending of this series, as I know it’ll be a cryfest!

Another fantastic entry in this series! The mystery pulled me right in and kept me guessing. The Thursday Murder Club was as brilliant and funny as ever. I loved that we got to spend more time with some wonderful side characters, including Joyce's daughter. This series is very popular at my library and I always recommend it.

Thanks to the publisher for a NetGalley copy.
It's good to be back with the Thursday Murder Club! After the somber events of the last entry, we find our favorite retiree sleuths healing and enjoying a lovely wedding, until, well, there's a bomb and a mystery involving BitCoin. Standard wedding stuff for sure. We get a lot of side characters in this one, Ron's family, Connie, Donna and Bogdan, so if you're picking this series up for the first time you may be overwhelmed and lost. The mystery itself is a bit fantastical, but this series is really about the characters so I can forgive it. A fun ride nonetheless!

Richard Osman does it again! I love love this series. It’s so funny, fast paced, and with every new volume there are new secondary characters to love. You can’t miss here with the Thursday Murder Club, Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the e-arc.

I just adore this series! This addition is wonderful for the series. The tone was a little different, with Ron and Ibrahim getting a lot of the spotlight this time around. The story was fast moving and entertaining. I really liked the new faces added to the group and I'm excited to see where the story goes next. Highly recommended!

Coat read back to our favorite geriatric club. It’s a slow start but picks up once things are established.

Thank you to the publisher for a Netgalley.
This was one of my most anticipated books of 2025 (and m.a. movie!!) and it did not disappoint.
In the aftermath of book 4, we see Elizabeth healing iykyk and Ron's family is in a debacle. All of our main characters receive even more development in this novel. And none of it feels forced or clunky. I continue to love these characters and each book adds another layer to who they are.
The plot for this one had a lot of side characters-- so beware. And at first, I felt like we were jumping around a bit. Luckily, most of the characters are not new. While those who are new, added to the plot and kept us guessing.
I really enjoyed this installment of TTMC and while I am thrilled I got to read an advanced copy, I realize that I do not know when I will get to read them again! LOL But I will be looking forward to the movie on Netflix 8/28!

These books are wonderful - a mix of funny, poignant, stranger than fiction, etc. This one doesn't disappoint. Osman has brought in some of the secondary characters to be more front and center and he does that well. Ron and Ibrahim get a bit more page time which is a delight. The last book was overall more sad in tone than previous ones and the gang is still dealing with that but trying to move on - like life. This is just a great series - each book has a strong mystery but then there is the overall arc of the series which is the gang's friendship. Wonderful reads.

I was so delighted to see a new Thursday Murder Club book - I absolutely love these characters and while I am reading I feel like they are my friends. It was fun that Joanna was involved in solving this one. Richard Osman does such a great job at mixing the gang's investigating and real-life issues with moments of laughter and pure joy. This book will have you feeling your feelings and laughing out loud the entire time.

Always enjoy this series. I liked that Ron and Ibrahim get some more time in this installment. I feel like the scenario is completely unlikely to happen so I just read it as a fantasty murder mystery at this point and it goes very quickly.

The Thursday Murder Club is back in Richard Osman’s upcoming release The Impossible Fortune. It’s been a quiet year for the gang following the death of Elizabeth’s husband. But there is a joyous event in the works. Joyce’s daughter Joanna is getting married. And that kicks off their next adventure.
This is the fifth book in Osman’s popular series. Osman takes a slight departure into a darker topic with one of the subplots. Ron’s daughter has been the victim of domestic violence. When she ends her relationship with her lowlife husband, he seeks revenge. Ron is kept in the dark about the situation for most of the book, mostly to keep him safe and from going after his son in law. Meanwhile, Elizabeth is starting to feel like her old self now that she has a missing person to find, a murderer to catch, and a puzzle to solve.
Osman tugs on the heartstrings with some character growth from Ron. It seems like the old dog can learn new tricks. Ron and Connie, the crime boss Ron helped send to jail, come to an understanding. Ron also sacrifices one of his main principles to save his family. There’s a very endearing scene where Ron talks to Ibrahim about love and friendship. There’s also character growth from Joanna. Now that she’s more involved helping Joyce and the others solve murders, Joanna has a new appreciation for her mother and their relationship improves.
Osman provides another entertaining and captivating story and I loved it. This series has quickly become one on my favorites. I love the cast of characters, the humor, their heart, and their high jinx.

4.5 stars for "The Impossible Fortune" which is the fifth installment of Richard Osman's "Thursday Murder Club" series about four senior sleuths in the English countryside (soon to be a movie!) I found this installment a very welcome return to the Cooper's Chase retirement village - with the gang all getting on with it, and Joyce's daughter about to get married! But of course, there's a new case about to upset their plans and the mystery involves crypto, a bomb and a big twist! Really fast-paced, and I could barely put it down! I love this series so much & was very glad to get another book to enjoy! My most sincere thanks to Net Galley and the publisher for my advance reader's copy - so very happy to have gotten an early opportunity to read & review it!

The Thursday Murder Club is back after Osman stepped away from the characters to write We Solve Murders. In this go round, Joyce’s daughter Joanna gets married leading to intrigue. The best man (Nick) takes Elizabeth aside to tell her about the bomb under his car. He has heard stories about Elizabeth from Paul and Joanna and knows that Elizabeth might be able to help him. When Elizabeth and Joyce go to see him at his office the next day, there is no one there. They go to Nick’s home and Elizabeth checks for bombs under cars, but doesn’t find any. The main storyline involves Nick’s disappearance and his partner Holly’s death when she dies in a car bombing. There is a secondary storyline involving Ron’s family including his daughter Suzi and her abusive husband, his son Jason, and his grandson Kendrick. Intersecting is Ibriham’s therapist relationship with Connie Johnson and her mentorship of Tia. In the end, everything is tied up neatly.
Anyone who enjoyed the previous entries in this series will find a lot to like about this entry. All of the favorite characters are here and they all have plenty to do. I was glad that helping investigate brought Elizabeth back to her original self after Steven died in the previous book. While the stories within the book were series at times, there were still moments of humor and light-heartedness to offset those tones. Richard Osman has another winner on his hands. I give this titles four out of five stars.

Elizabeth, thinking to herself, “She may never be that woman again — the mind a razor, the body a spring, the soul a granite cliff face— but she doesn’t need to be. Because she is now part of a team.”
The best team! I was so delighted to revisit the Thursday Murder Club gang, and I liked the new faces too.
Full review coming soon for Shelf Awareness.

This is another great addition to the Thursday Murder Club series. All the familiar faces are here, plus the addition of a few more great characters that I hope stick around in future stories. The plot keeps readers guessing, but it is Osman's characters who are the real reason to read this series. He continues to help those characters and their various relationships grow and evolve in unexpected ways.

Book 5 in the series
Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the ARC of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.
The unmissable new mystery in the Thursday Murder Club series from #1 New York Times bestselling author Richard Osman
Who's got time to think about murder when there's a wedding to plan?
The subplots focus on personal connections which have kept our favorite retirees busy this past year. I'm not sure Osman can ever top the 4th book in this series but I'm happy to report this is another solid installment to the series and I enjoyed catching up with our friends from Cooper's Chase.
Also I have high hopes for the Thursday Murder Club movie coming out on Netflix August 28th on NetFlix.

Another fantastic book in the Thursday Murder Club series! This installment dives a little deeper into family, personal relationships, and of course, murder. Joyce's daughter, Joanna is getting married so it's a cause for celebration for the gang. Elizabeth, still mourning her husband's death, is approached by the best man for her expertise in figuring out who wants him dead. With some help from old friends and new, the Thursday Murder Club is back in business!
