The perfect sequel to The Girl in Seat 2A! This book held me gripped as it followed the lives of Jade - who barely escaped with her life in the first novel, and Hayley - who thinks she has the inside scoop on what happened in Marbella and is looking to ignite her career as a journalist.
A few twists thrown in for good measure - some you will spot bit some you won't 😉
4 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Special thanks to Netgalley for providing me with this ARC in exchange for my honest opinion .

Thank you for allowing me an an arc reader for this book. Unfortunately I don’t enjoy it at all and couldn’t finish the book. It didn’t engage me and the story wasn’t flowing in my opinion. If you enjoyed the first book maybe you will enjoy this but I didn’t enjoy that one either so I’m not surprised this didn’t go well for me either.

Thank you NetGalley! This my first read by this author and I thought it was amazing. I was sucked into the story right away. I always enjoy the back and forth between characters but this one did make it hard to distinguish who was talking. That aside I will have to check out its predecessor

I'm over the moon to have discovered this author. I'm now reading "The Girl in seat 2A" which is the prequel (as folk on here advised me to do!) But as a stand alone this is an exciting pacy thriller with a wonderful female lead Jade. And Hayley too. But I can't fully disclose her importance in this review without spoilers.
It's clear early on that Astrid has a dark agenda and Avery has a reason to be tracking Jade. The novel benefits from being set in Spain. The exotic men, the heat stifling Jade as she pieces together what's happening. As for the twist near the end. I loved it.
Definitely an undercurrent of female empowerment running through this book which I loved. And Jade's mistrust of pretty much everyone makes us dubious of every character too. This will be continued. Crystal deserves a sequel! Thanks to the author and Boldwood books for the eARC in exchange for an honest review.

I LOVED the Girl in Seaf 2a and I loved The Girl on the Balcony just as much! Fantastic read with no shortage of twists and turns!

Really enjoying reading this book, a few chapters in I realised it was the follow up to The girl in seat 2A. That being said it was excellent as a standalone storyline which kept you guessing who Jade could trust/not trust. It twisted and turned all the way to the end, and was quite difficult to put down with such strong characters leading the way. As I said previously it is a follow up storyline, and I would recommend reading the previous book first to enhance the experience. Thank you NetGalley for the advanced copy.

First, thank you Netgalley and Boldwood Books for the ARC!
This was another great Diana Wilkinson and surely a good story to read in this heatwave we are currently suffering.
Here we do follow Jade, who is currently trying her luck as an estate agent in sunny spain. Since it is a sequel to The Girl in Seat 2A, I would advice reading this first, even when the book surely also works on it's own. But, really, read the other book first. You will do regret it, I do promise!
Besides that, this was an easy, dual POV summer read with a lot of twists and turns along the way while the story is unfolding. Very much recommended!

Thank you Boldwood Books and NetGalley for an early copy of The Girl on the Balcony. The cover is nice, this sequel is fast reading. I don’t understand “she took everything from you”, who did? I did remember the FANTASTIC The Girl in Seat 2A as I was reading this book so that was awesome as memories kept coming back to me. I have to say that towards the end, I was getting confused though, it seemed like too much was being brought out into the open all at once. All in All it was a good sequel. Thank you again.

I enjoyed this read. I hadn’t realised that it was a sequel to a book I had previously read but it became clear as I went along. It would be helpful for sequels if they contained a summary of the previous book so one could fully enjoy it without relying on memory. That said, it was a good sequel

A unique plot that has the heart pumping. I would have liked the sequel to thicken a little but it fell short for me. I enjoyed the first book so I think I had high expectations for this one. It does give a adrenaline rush but something felt off.

Thank you, NetGalley for approving me to read this book before it comes out. This one was okay, not one of my favorites. It had a lot of characters to keep track of and I found that hard to do at times. I also thought that the plot was kind of boring. It kept my interest but, I wouldn’t recommend to others.
I thought it was interesting that the author titled this one, “The girl on the balcony.” I read one of her books last night that was titled, “The Woman in the window.”

Thank you to NetGalley, the author and publisher for the ARC of The Girl on the Balcony.
According to GR descriptions, this is a sequel to The Girl in Seat 2A, which I haven’t read. I didn’t realise this when I requested the ARC. So take note that this would read better I suspect if you have read the previous book.
That said, I enjoyed it a lot. Took a little while to get my head around characters and whose POV I was reading. I also got a bit confused for a short time when characters turned out to be someone else entirely, with the time lines flashing back and forth until the last third of the book.
I always get on well with Diana Wilkinson’s style of writing, I find it easy to soak up and digest. So, overall, 4 stars, might even go back and read the first one!

This is the sequel to 'The Girl in Seat 2A', a book I have read but (given the amount of fiction I read), I can't remember much detail about (though I do remember that I enjoyed it very much.!) As such I went into this book reading it not quite as a standalone, but I can confirm that it would be very readable and enjoyable for anyone was has not read the previous book (as well as those who have read it!).
The story is largely told by 2 women, Jade and Hayley. Hayley is a journalist who has a boyfriend who hears of a murder confession when on a flight. He tells Hayley, who hops on a plane in hot pursuit of a good story! Jade is embroiled in this story and also tells her own story, struggling financially, living in Spain and feeling that the mysterious Avery (a resident of the Spanish resort Jade manages). As the story plays out we learn what is connecting these women, and how the (murderous!) situation resolves.
A good plot with really interesting characters and some great plot reveals! Overall a very decent novel I would definitely recommend.
My thanks to NetGalley, author and publisher for the opportunity to review this book in exchange for an advance copy.

First of all thank you for approving my request!
I thoroughly enjoyed this book! The authors writing style had me hooked throughout this book.
I didn't want it to end, a book I really couldn't put down.

I didn't read the first book in this series, but after getting into the characters a bit, it was a good plot with lots of unlikable characters with Jade and Hayley leading the group. I'll go back and read the first one.
Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC.

The Girl on the Balcony, a chick lit cross thriller, follows on from “The Girl in Seat 2A” and I think to fully understand the back story, the first book should be read.
It’s a dual POV and easy read, with short and engaging chapters that kept me turning the pages.
It seems like everyone in this book has something to hide, and I wasn’t sure who to trust at all which kept me on my toes.
The only problem for me was that I didn’t really like any of the characters. I didn’t get behind either Jade or Hayley, which made it difficult for me to fully enjoy it.
4* for me.
Thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for my advanced copy.

I read and enjoyed "The Girl in Seat 2A]" and was so delighted the sequel is being released.
In this story Jade Wilshire the girl in Seat 2A is still in Spain now working at the Marbella.
Jade had to rent out her apartment, leaving her with nowhere to live. She crashes in a client’s villa as he’s isn’t due back for several months. But then returns early. Oops
Hayley is a journalist waiting for that big story. Her boyfriend Teddy tells her about a conversation he overheard on the plane. He is across from the woman and when they depart he offers to help with her bags. She seems to be very impressed with him (Surely his good looks) and offers to hires him as her personal assistant/. She seems to a rich member of a royal family in Europe. Teddy tells Hayley he overheard her confess to murdering her husband.
If so, this just might be the story she needs –so takes the first plane to Marbella.
( I did look up Marbella- as it was key in the first book ` Yes! it is a resort town – in Southern Spain on the coast of Costa del Sol known also known as the millionaire’s playground.)
This is my fourth author, Diana Wilkinson and yes I totally love "The Girl in Seat 2A"]!! In fact a 5 star read for me
So I went into this with high expectations!
It was a quick read – okay a few slow spots at times still kept me guessing.
Want to thank NetGalley and Boldwood Books for this early eGalley.
Publishing Release Date scheduled for July 21, 2025.

I was hooked on this thriller from the moment I started. This is a followup to a previous novel. I really enjoyed the story and found myself feeling very connected to the main characters. I also enjoyed the addition of Gato. The ending left me satisfied. I'm hoping that there will be another book after this where we see Jade again. Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for the ARC!

This was a pretty good read- I didn't realize it was a sequel and I am pretty sure I even read the other book, but it works as a standalone. It centers on 2 protagonists, Jade and Hayley, alternating chapters between them. Jade is trying to make ends meet as an estate agent after fleeing a bad situation, and Hayley is trying to get a scoop on a story that would make her career as a journalist.
Neither one of these characters is likable but I am generally OK with that as long as I know what I am getting. While I understood early how their stories would converge, the author did get a little tricky in just how that happened, resulting in a decent twist. I thought many of the decisions these folks made were ill-advised, but that did add to the overall tension of the story. The twist at the end was a good one- while it seemed obvious once I knew what happened, I hadn't anticipated it.
Overall, fun read that put a little bit of a different spin on the "random person getting to the bottom of a suspicious death" trope. Thanks to Netgalley for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

The Girl On The Balcony is the gripping sequel to The Girl in Seat 2A by Diana Wilkinson.
Jade’s new life in Spain is falling apart, she’s broke, desperate, and hiding secrets from her past. Meanwhile, journalist Hayley is chasing a career-defining story…..A suspicious death and an invite to the home of a confessed killer. But paradise quickly turns into a nightmare. Will she make it out alive?
This was such a fast-paced and gripping read, I was hooked right from the first chapter.
The story moves quickly, with short, sharp chapters that made it impossible to stop reading.
The dual storyline between Jade and Hayley kept the tension high, with twists, secrets, and a growing sense of unease that had me second-guessing everything.
I loved the Marbella setting too, the sunshine and glamour added a great contrast to the darker, more dangerous undercurrents.
If you enjoy thrillers with strong female leads, secrets from the past, and plenty of suspense, I highly recommend this book!
Thank you to Diana Wilkinson, NetGalley and Boldwood for an early copy.
