This is a sequel but I think you can read as a stand alone . Oh my hard to review. Some great characters . Some lovely twists. Sadness and laughter. Some beautiful food descriptions . You do have to concentrate. I liked that Ross came back . Sad about the letters . Hannah was a lovely person. I also liked Jamie . The playing on the Lochside and the bbq’s would be nice. Read it .

What a smashing story, easy to read and it flowed along like a Scottish Stream. I loved all the descriptions of the area and all the mountains and flowers. A feel going story which I expect from this author. My thanks to netgalley and the publisher's for giving me the opportunity to read this book in return for an honest review.

Although it was great to revisit these characters and the wonderful setting, I found myself a little lost at times, as I have read a lot of books in between. This may be a series that works better by waiting for the final book and reading it all at once. Aside from that, the return of Ross and the introduction of Hannah to the story made for interesting reading, as well as how everyone is coping with the loss of Dina. Clearly, there is more to come, as Jamie and Heather’s story was left dangling as well as the future for the womens shelters. So I am looking forward to the next book, to see what happens next to these wonderful characters. Thanks to NetGalley and Storm Publishing for the opportunity to read and review this book.

Book 3 in the Strathkin series and my least favorite so far. I still can't get a handle on Marcie and I'm not sure I'm ever going to like her, really, but I do love all the other characters. There was a lot of repetition which never moved the story along and nothing much happened until the very end. I was very confused about the unveiling of the mystery surrounding Ross and the reason he returned to Strathkin. Without spoilers, I read that section twice and have no idea what the revelation meant. Maybe that will be different in the final version? Also, what happened to Dieter? And Jamie and his job? I will definitely continue this series and do recommend it, I just didn't particularly like this one.
