There’s really nothing entirely unique about Second Chance at Sunshine Inn it’s a well exercised storyline, two strangers receive an inheritance that must be split, one is a ray of sunshine the other a thundery storm, I mean it’s pretty much there in the opening, we know where it’s heading, however, sometimes that’s really not a bad thing it’s a well known trope for a reason, we all like to watch the ice thaw we all love a happy ending. That’s exactly what we got here.
Cute, sweet often quite heartfelt. Pegged as Christian fiction, which I have to admit I’m slowly realising that that doesn’t necessarily mean there’s religion in the book, in fact in this case I don’t even think it’s referenced, but I think the idea is that you’re guaranteed a good clean romance . I obviously can’t speak for an entire genre, but I think my point is don’t be deterred by that. Just a nice wholesome read/listen.
The narration by Melinda Moran for this title was a great fit.
Huge thanks to Thomas Nelson and Zondervan fiction audio via NetGalley for the opportunity to review this audiobook which is available now 🎧

When Ms. Positivity and Mr. Negativity are shocked to learn they both inherit half a seaside B and B, both have some serious thinking to do! Everleigh wants to sell her beloved aunt's property to complete her dream of building free housing for couples whose babies are in NICU, to free up some of the personal strain. However, Cade worked with Everleigh's aunt in the past 18 months, with plans to expand and add eating options. I discovered that this is considered a troupe, or common theme in books, and this one deals with a lot of interesting personal and extended family issues. Will there be a happy sigh at the end? How would that even be possible? Read it and see!
I appreciate receiving this book from the editors, and the views expressed are my own thoughts.

I received the audio version of this book from NetGalley. This was a new to me author in which I was extremely impressed by and will be enjoying more of her books! I highly recommend it!

I really enjoyed this grumpy/sunshine enemies-to-lovers romance involving the inheritance of an inn. I loved both characters and could sympathize with each one, and I thought the way they worked out their differences and eventually fell in love was developed well and felt realistic and believable. I love the gentle Hallmark vibe of this story, and I appreciate that it focused on emotions over physical attraction. I had previously had trouble connecting with this author's writing, but I'm so glad I tried again!
Melissa Moran was great as the audiobook narrator. I remember enjoying some of the cozy mysteries she has narrated, and it was nice to hear her voice in this cozy story as well.

🎧thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for an advanced copy of this audiobook.
I can’t remember the last time I didn’t finish a book, but I almost DNF’ed this one several times. All of the characters were either insufferable or naive, and the dialogue was truly painful. I typically try not to be too harsh in advanced copy reviews, but I honestly didn’t like anything about this book.

Such a feel good wholesome story. This hits parts of my heart I haven’t felt in a while. That feeling of a small town and all the descriptions had me swooning.

⭐⭐⭐.5 pretty good! there were enjoyable parts and decent chemistry, but it lacked that extra spark to make it really memorable.
when everleigh hartnett inherits half of her godmother’s charming seaside inn, she plans to sell it and finally fund the nonprofit they always dreamed about. but there’s a catch, she’s sharing ownership with cade witherspoon, a grumpy local who’s fiercely attached to the place. everleigh’s all sunshine and spontaneity, while cade is grounded and guarded, and neither of them expected to be stuck running the inn together. as sparks fly and walls start to come down, they find themselves tangled in something that looks a lot like love. but with a pushy developer circling and cade’s estranged brother suddenly back, they’ll have to decide if they’re willing to fight for more than just the inn.
i wanted to love this more than i did. the small-town charm and emotional undertones were sweet. i appreciated how grief was explored and the story had a big emotional impact. but the pacing was a bit off and some scenes and actions of the characters just made no sense to me. everleigh’s optimism was nice in theory, but she felt a bit too naive at times, and cade’s mood swings were also insanely frustrating. it had sweet moments but overall it didn’t fully land.

Everleigh and Cade are opposites in every way. She’s sunshine and laughter, while he’s all rough edges and quiet brooding. Their clash of wills over the inn soon has them wondering what on earth Everleigh’s godmother was thinking when she left them both in charge.
Let me just say, I have read a lot of “sweet” reads lately. So take what I am about to say with a grain of salt. This one is almost TOO sweet for me. It is a bit predictable and I got a bit frustrated with Everleigh and her stubbornness and avoidance of any issue that doesn’t suit her. She definitely pushed my buttons in places.
The saving grace for this tale is Cade. Cade is rough around the edges but he is a lot nicer than he comes across and he has Everleigh’s number. So, when these two finally realize what they have together, it is golden!
I loved the setting of the inn. I could just picture it and I really want to go! 😜.

I received this novel for a honest review.

What a sweet story about second chances and new relationships. Everleigh's godmother has died, and she has left her beloved Bed and Breakfast to Everleigh, well 50% of it anyway. The other half is left to the caretaker of the Inn, Cade. Everleigh is convinced that Alana left it to her so she can swell it and start a non-profit t to help the parents of children in the NICU. Of course, she did because they had discussed this endeavor. Cade was told to never sell the Inn. Where can they meet in the middle??
Cade really wants to make a go of the inn, so he opens up the reservations and they work together to run it. Everleigh does convince him to sell the Inn and the love starts to fly between the two of them. If you love Hallmark movies this one will fit right in. I enjoyed the relationship between the two characters and all of the ways the book unfolded. In enjoyed it and thank #NetGalley and the publisher for the advanced audiobook. isher, and the author for the gifted copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Everleigh (Evie) is called home when her beloved godmother and dear friend Alana surprisingly passes away. She is shocked at what comes next. Extraordinary hostility from her sister and half of Alana’s Sunshine Inn she spent so much time at. They have divergent ideas about the Inn. Cade, the recipient of the other half, is less than thrilled and wants her gone. Evie wants to sell it to start a foundation she and Alana had dreamed of while he is harboring a lot of hostility towards her which is ridiculous and quite over the top. When she believes he is making an honest challenge/bet, she takes the challenge. He 100% believes he has created a challenge so absurd that she will ever meet so is now free to stop being so hostile and so begins the push and pull of will they, won’t they, which we all know they will. It is the point of all opposites attract storylines. Sweet ending and yet I didn’t find there to be a lot of healthy chemistry between the two main characters and didn’t find Chad terribly likable. When he finally came around, it was too little, too late and as with most of the story, all about him.

Second chance at Sunshine Inn started strong. Grumpy and sunshine troupe- second chances- returning to sell property willed to them with split ownership. Simple clean romance but the characters needed more development and to learn communication skills. The narrator was fine but had to speed up to over 2 as it was so slow. Downgraded to three stars because of the MMC mother’s storyline was so dragged out that it lead me to think of a different trauma occurred (and was mad that it didn’t even cross the MMC mind that it could be the reason for her reaction) that when it was finally revealed it was anti climatic. Overall, a quick enjoyable Summer read. Thank you Net Galley for the advanced copy of this audiobook.

Second Chance at Sunshine Inn by Amy Clipston is a sweet romance that is quick to read. If you love Hallmark, you'll enjoy this one. I will say that I do prefer my romance books to be "clean" or closed-door, sweet rather than steamy and this hit the mark for me in that regard. However, that is all that I enjoyed about this book. I haven't read any of Clipston's Amish romance books, but I have seen her contemporary women's romance that she's put our recently and thought that they would be right up my alley - maybe this one was just not for me. I plan to pick up another one and give it a go, but if the writing and dialogue are the same, then that will be it for me. I found this to be extremely juvenile for characters that were supposed to be in their mid-30s. I found that the FMC was childish, whiny, and very pushy which is a bit off putting for me. I cannot imagine myself or any of my girl friends being so brazen to interfere in someone else's life without being asked. It turned me off a bit to see how Everleigh acted and interjected herself into Cade's life. She was extremely pushy and complained a LOT. The MMC was a little bit better (but not by much). I felt like the two had the same exact argument on repeat throughout the book and nothing was really solved or discussed until the VERY end. This one read a little like a clean YA novel and if you told me these two characters were in HS I would have believed it. Also, as a faith based or inspirational genre novel/author/publisher there was very little talk about faith in it.
Now, there are a TON of higher rated reviews, so I encourage you to check out some other reviews and try this book for yourself. As stated, it is a great grumpy/sunshine romance with no spice/steam, and if you love Hallmark, you will definitely enjoy Second Chance at Sunshine Inn by Amy Clipston.
Thank you to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest thoughts.

Everleigh and Cade have never met before, but somehow they both inherit half of a Bed and Breakfast. The entire book is about the struggle they face over whether or not to sell it and use the money to do what they want to do.
I really enjoyed this audiobook by Amy Clipston.. This author is one of my “automatic reads” because I’ve enjoyed so many of her Amish Romance series and absolutely love her sweet contemporary (clean) romances.
Since this was an audiobook, I want to mention how much I enjoyed this narrator. She was able to tell the story and switch between characters without being “obvious”. Her words flowed and were easy to listen to.

A great no spice romance with 2 total opposite characters. The story drew me in from the beginning. Can’t wait to read more from Amy Clipston.
When Everleigh Hartnett, a cheerful traveling NICU nurse who can't sit still, inherits half of her godmother's beloved seaside bed-and-breakfast, she dreams of selling the place to fund the nonprofit she and her godmother always envisioned. But there's one tiny her new co-owner. Rugged, grumpy, and fiercely loyal to the inn, Cade Witherspoon isn't about to let his peaceful life--and his new start--be sold off so easily.
Everleigh and Cade are opposites in every way. She's sunshine and laughter, while he's all rough edges and quiet brooding. Their clash of wills over the inn soon has them wondering what on earth Everleigh's godmother was thinking when she left them both in charge

Thank you NetGalley and Thomas Nelson for the audio ARC!

🎧 AUDIOBOOK REVIEW 🎧
I listened to this book blindly. Never heard of the author but I’m glad I did! Won’t be my last one by her either 😉 the audio was good it flowed nicely. The narrator did a good job. This was a small town clean romance with some family drama mixed it. I enjoyed it.

Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to review, Second Chance at Sunshine Inn by Amy Clipston. This is my honest review of this title, as NetGalley gave me a free eaudiobook for review.
Everleigh is a NICU Nurse that inherits half of a bed and breakfast in a small town on the seaside. She plans to sell the Inn and take the profit for a non-profit purpose. On the other hand, Caden inherited half too and wanted to keep the Inn running. They have lots of decisions to make, and upon first meeting each other it’s hard to trust the other but they have to work together and try to agree to get through this inheritance.
As they were total opposites, it was fun watching them navigate these new waters. It made me wonder at one point what the previous owner was thinking having both of them in charge. They both knew they were special to the previous owner, and that made it worth it all.
The main characters were lovable, and it was easy to get lost in the family secrets swirling around throughout this title too. It was a fun, quick, and easy read. This one offers a lot for discussion too!
3.5 stars!

I loved the setting, the characters the writing and narration.
Everleigh Hartnett is a traveling NICU nurse and never stays in one place for more than a few months. She comes back to her hometown when her godmother suddenly passes away. She finds out she has inherited 50% of her bed and breakfast named Sunshine Inn.
Cade Witherspoon is grumpy and loyal to the Sunshine Inn. When Everleigh suggests they sell the Inn, sparks begin to fly.
There are no swears or alcohol and level 1 kisses only. Dual POV.

I received a complimentary copy from @Netgalley and @thomasnelson. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Everleigh was devastated when she found out her beloved godmother, Alana, passed away. She had spent summers there and loved the Bed and Breakfast Alana ran and that she helped run. Everleigh and Cade are left bed and breakfast. Everleigh and Cade butt heads a lot, they do not have the same vision for the inn. Cade and Everleigh are likeable characters, and anyone would appreciate Cade’s cooking talent and Everleigh’s dedication to her job. I liked watching the romance develop between Everleigh and Cade, although I found both were too set on their own ways. The exploration of grief in this book felt heartfelt and genuine. I appreciated how Everleigh and Cade’s emotions surrounding Alana’s death were portrayed—it didn’t feel overly scripted. Seeing Alana through their eyes made her feel real and significant to the story. This was a nice cozy read. Thanks to Netgalley, the author and publisher for the opportunity.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the advance listening copy. I’m rounding my rating up from 3.5 stars. This is a sweet, clean romance set against a charming, cozy backdrop. I enjoyed the setting and all the characters. While the “grumpy hero meets impossibly sweet heroine” trope isn’t my personal favorite, the story unfolds with a pleasant pace and makes for a quick, enjoyable listen.

If you love grumpy/sunshine romance, coastal charm, and all the feels….this one’s for you!☀️
I was gifted the audiobook of Second Chance at Sunshine Inn by Amy Clipston, and oh my goodness, this book gave me all the feels! The narration was spot-on (shoutout to the amazing voice actor!), and I was pulled in from the very first chapter.
Everleigh and Cade’s story? Looooved. Their journey was emotional, raw, and full of heart…and the slow-burn connection between them was everything. If you love a good grumpy/sunshine dynamic, you’re going to fall hard for these two.
This story hit all the right notes..grief, healing, forgiveness, and the beauty of starting over. It wasn’t just a sweet romance (though it totally was); it was also deeply meaningful and hopeful in a way that stuck with me.
And let’s talk about the setting: it felt like a breath of fresh coastal air. 🌊☀️👙🐚
It was the kind of cozy, comforting story that makes you want to curl up with a blanket and never leave.
If you’re looking for a clean, heartwarming romance that makes you feel something real, this is it. Amy Clipston once again proves why she’s one of my go-to authors. Don’t sleep on this one!
