Description

Welcome to the Sunshine Inn, a picturesque coastal inn with sweeping views and two new owners who couldn't be more opposite. From bestselling author Amy Clipston comes a no spice, grumpy/sunshine romance perfect for fans of Anne-Marie Meyer and RaeAnne Thayne.

Two polar opposites, one cozy inn--and one sweet and surprising chance at unlikely love.

When Everleigh Hartnett, a cheerful traveling NICU nurse who can't sit still, inherits half of her godmother's beloved seaside bed-and-breakfast, she dreams of selling the place to fund the nonprofit she and her godmother always envisioned. But there's one tiny problem: her new co-owner. Rugged, grumpy, and fiercely loyal to the inn, Cade Witherspoon isn't about to let his peaceful life--and his new start--be sold off so easily.

Everleigh and Cade are opposites in every way. She's sunshine and laughter, while he's all rough edges and quiet brooding. Their clash of wills over the inn soon has them wondering what on earth Everleigh's godmother was thinking when she left them both in charge.

As Everleigh gets to know Cade's softer side--and Cade finds himself drawn to Everleigh's optimism and kindness--their disagreement over the inn becomes something sweeter. But with the arrival of Cade's long-lost brother and the looming threat of a developer sniffing around the property, they'll have to make some hard choices--together.

Can Everleigh and Cade let go of their expectations and build something lasting together? Or will the Sunshine Inn be the place they both leave behind?

Second Chance at Sunshine Inn by bestselling novelist Amy Clipston is a heartwarming, standalone romance, which features the grumpy/sunshine trope and a charming small-town setting that's Netflix's Falling Inn Love meets Debbie Macomber set in a seaside bed-and-breakfast. This book delivers all the emotions and butterflies, leaving out the explicit scenes.

Second Chance at the Sunshine Inn is a Coral Cove novel by Amy Clipston. Everleigh Hartnett has just completed her latest nursing contract in Texas and is heading home to Coral Cove, North Carolina. Unfortunately it is not for a well deserved rest but for the sad occasion of her dear godmother’s passing. Alana McFadden had been her mother’s best friend forever and an integral part of Everleigh’s life, almost like a second mother. She spend much of her growing up years at Alana’s beautiful beachfront Sunshine Inn, even working there as she got older. And now to think Alana is gone is unbearable.

With her rideshare moving at a snail’s pace from the airport, Everleigh worries she will be too late for the reading of the will. When she finally does get there, a stranger is the one to help her unload her luggage as the rain still comes down and the surly driver doesn’t move from his seat. The stranger even helps her get it into the attorney’s office, even following her inside. Everleigh is surprised when it is only her mother and the stranger, to be introduced as Cade Witherspoon, and herself that are called in for the reading of the will, with her siblings missing. An even bigger surprise comes when the bulk of Alana’s estate, including the Inn, its furnishings, and her accounts are to be split evenly between Everleigh and Cade.

Everleigh sees this as an opportunity to use the proceeds of a sale to start the nonprofit she had discussed with Alana, feeling that was the purpose of the legacy. Cade sees it as a new beginning, but one where he will run the Inn as Everleigh returns to her nomadic traveling nurse lifestyle as a silent partner.

As heads butt, realtors try to get the property for developers and a stranger from a grocery cart collision keeps inserting himself into Everleigh’s life. Months pass with no resolution. Reservations are reopened for the Inn and many return visitors come as well as new ones. And still, the conflict isn’t resolved. Neither is the personal tension between the two owners.

This is a well written story with endearing characters and a lovely coastal setting. I very much enjoyed this book and I do recommend it!

Everleigh Hartnett comes back to her hometown when her Godmother Alana dies and names her in her will to own half of the inn Alana owned. Cade Witherspoon is also named in the will and Everleigh is confused who this guy is and why would Alana give him half of the inn too. Everleigh wants to sell and go back to her traveling nurse life but Cade wants to keep the inn running as Alana wished him to do.
This is an enemy to lovers story that I liked a lot. It was a little slow on the romance side but ended super cute. I definitely recommend this for a fun summer book to listen to as you do dishes or fold laundry.

I received a complimentary copy of this audiobook. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

If you love grumpy/sunshine romance, coastal charm, and all the feels….this one’s for you!☀️

I was gifted the audiobook of Second Chance at Sunshine Inn by Amy Clipston, and oh my goodness, this book gave me all the feels! The narration was spot-on (shoutout to the amazing voice actor!), and I was pulled in from the very first chapter.

Everleigh and Cade’s story? Looooved. Their journey was emotional, raw, and full of heart…and the slow-burn connection between them was everything. If you love a good grumpy/sunshine dynamic, you’re going to fall hard for these two.

This story hit all the right notes..grief, healing, forgiveness, and the beauty of starting over. It wasn’t just a sweet romance (though it totally was); it was also deeply meaningful and hopeful in a way that stuck with me.

And let’s talk about the setting: it felt like a breath of fresh coastal air. 🌊☀️👙🐚
It was the kind of cozy, comforting story that makes you want to curl up with a blanket and never leave.

If you’re looking for a clean, heartwarming romance that makes you feel something real, this is it. Amy Clipston once again proves why she’s one of my go-to authors. Don’t sleep on this one!

Also this one is available everywhere NOW so go check it out!!!!!

Everleigh and Cade have never met before, but somehow they both inherit half of a Bed and Breakfast. The entire book is about the struggle they face over whether or not to sell it and use the money to do what they want to do.

I really enjoyed this audiobook by Amy Clipston.. This author is one of my “automatic reads” because I’ve enjoyed so many of her Amish Romance series and absolutely love her sweet contemporary (clean) romances.

Since this was an audiobook, I want to mention how much I enjoyed this narrator. She was able to tell the story and switch between characters without being “obvious”. Her words flowed and were easy to listen to.

Oh I loved this book! Everleigh and Cade find themselves as unexpected business partners when they inherit Sunshine Inn from a good friend. They initially both have completely different plans of what to do with the inheritance. They strike a deal in the beginning, and arguments and sparks fly. Add in an unexpected family member showing up, and more strife enters their lives. I really liked the discussion of healing from scars from past relationships and in learning how to trust again after being hurt previously.

Overall, this is a fantastic romance. I read parts on my Kindle and also listened parts on the audio book. Both formats were enjoyable! Thank you to NetGalley for the advance reader and listener copy of this book. A review was not required.

When Ms. Positivity and Mr. Negativity are shocked to learn they both inherit half a seaside B and B, both have some serious thinking to do! Everleigh wants to sell her beloved aunt's property to complete her dream of building free housing for couples whose babies are in NICU, to free up some of the personal strain. However, Cade worked with Everleigh's aunt in the past 18 months, with plans to expand and add eating options. I discovered that this is considered a troupe, or common theme in books, and this one deals with a lot of interesting personal and extended family issues. Will there be a happy sigh at the end? How would that even be possible? Read it and see!
I appreciate receiving this book from the editors, and the views expressed are my own thoughts.

Two polar opposites, one cozy inn —and one sweet and surprising chance at unlikely love.

🌞🏖️ Looking for a cozy, heartfelt read that feels like a warm hug with ocean views? Second Chance at The Sunshine Inn delivers just that.

Cade and Everleigh are total opposites—he’s all grump, she’s full sunshine—but when they’re thrown together as co-owners of a charming coastal inn, sparks fly in the most unexpected ways. Set in a sweet small town with a no-spice, slow-burn beach romance, this story is about more than love—it’s about healing, trust, and the unexpected beauty of second chances.

Amy Clipston has such a natural, uplifting way of storytelling that makes her books feel like a deep breath of fresh air. I loved the character growth, the coastal charm, and how the emotional layers of this story gently unfolded.

I listened to the audiobook, narrated by Melissa Moran, and she was excellent! Her narration brought Everleigh and Cade to life and added warmth and depth to an already heartfelt story.

💬 “It’s about healing from more than heartbreak. And learning to trust more than just love.” — Yes, yes, yes. This book quietly moved me.

🌊 Sweet, engaging, and full of heart—this one’s for fans of clean romance and soul-deep connections.

I loved this cozy, feel good romance so much! It was the perfect no spice, grumpy/sunshine story that followed Everleigh and Cade when they each inherited half of the Sunshine Inn. Everleigh and Cade and very opposite and keep butting heads about what to do with the Inn but agree to sell as long as it is not a developer. They are both struggling with personal things and help each other through those things but also keep getting under each others skin.

This heartfelt romance was so good and I love how Cade and Everleigh both wanted to honor Alana’s memory in their own way. Even though it took them a while to get there, the journey was important for both of them. The adoption storyline was interesting and I think it is hard to have opinions on that when you haven’t gone through it. I was adopted and have always had no interest in my birth parents, but I could see how some people do and how a birth mother would have a hard time if a child they gave up for adoption all of a sudden came back into their life. It is not as simple as Cade made it out to be.

Second Chance at Sunshine Inn was such a heartwarming read! It has everything I love in a small-town romance a beautiful coastal setting, lovable characters, and just the right amount of emotional tension.

Everleigh is a traveling nurse who comes back home for her godmother’s funeral, When she finds out she’s inherited half of a charming seaside inn but with a catch. The other half belongs to Cade, a total stranger who’s grumpy. The two have chemistry and naturally, sparks fly but not in the over-the-top sort of way. Their connection builds slowly, with banter, awkward moments, and lots of emotional growth along the way.

I loved watching Everleigh and Cade challenge each other and start to let their guards down. The story had a few surprises some family secrets, unexpected visitors, and the pressure of what to do with the inn. all of which kept me turning pages. It’s the kind of book that leaves you smiling until it’s over.

If you’re into opposites-attract stories with heart and charm, you’ll love this one. I’ll definitely be checking out more from Amy Clipston!
